Do you know how to talk about your routine in French? Today, you will do a listening comprehension exercise and you will also learn a lot of vocabulary very easily. I'm going to tell you about my routine and I'm going to explain the most difficult terms.
Talking about what you do on a daily basis is a very important exercise because it's your life. If you really want to progress, go get a piece of paper and a pen to take notes because at the end, I'll give you a quiz to see if you really understand everything. OK ?
Come on ! We begin. But first, if you don't want to miss any of my next videos, subscribe and activate the little bell!
Let's go ! Every morning, I wake up around six thirty. I know it's very early, but I love it because it gives me time to wake up gently.
I'm an early riser. This means that I am a person who is used to getting up early. The opposite of an early riser is a late riser.
And you, are you an early riser or a late riser? Tell me that. Afterwards, I put on my glasses and go straight to the bathroom.
That means I go to the bathroom quickly. I undress, that is, I take off my clothes. Afterwards, I shower with soap and shampoo.
Then I dry myself with a towel. The verb to wipe means to absorb water with a cloth. I stay in the bathroom and get dressed for the day.
I remove the fog from the mirror to see myself. You know, mist is the water vapor that remains on the mirror. So, I remove the fog to be able to see myself and put on my lenses, otherwise I see almost nothing.
Lenses are the small transparent discs that replace glasses. Then I put sunscreen on my face and gel in my hair. I also wear deodorant.
That is to say deodorant. I'm talking about the product to make your armpits smell good. The armpits are the hollows under your arms.
I also take my bottle of perfume to perfume myself for the day. Right after, I go to the kitchen and prepare my breakfast. I make myself a large coffee, I cut two slices of bread on which I spread butter and sometimes jam.
It is spreading a soft substance on a surface. In my case, I spread butter and jam on two slices of bread. Before drinking my coffee and eating my two pieces of toast, I drink a glass of water with lemon juice and I eat a banana.
On top of that, I always make a boiled egg. It is delicious. I leave an egg for 4 minutes in a pan of simmering water and that's it.
I take it out of the water. I break the top. I add a little salt and that's it.
During my breakfast, I pet my two cats and I feed them kibble because they are as hungry as me! Then I open the door so the cats can wander around a bit. Sometimes during breakfast I watch the news, sometimes I listen to audio books and sometimes I listen to podcasts in other languages to improve my listening comprehension, like what you are doing now in French.
After breakfast is finished, I put the dishes in the dishwasher and sweep up a bit because there is litter dust everywhere. This is the type of sand where cats do their business (pee and poop). Afterwards, I brush my teeth.
Be careful, here, the verb is pronominal. I brush my teeth. I take my toothbrush, run it under tap water and apply toothpaste.
While I brush my teeth, I turn on the computer in the office and open the curtain to let the light in. Then I go to the bathroom and wash my hands right after. I go back to the kitchen to get a big glass of water and finally, I go into the office to start working.
I check to see if I have any emails or messages that I need to respond to. I also look at my schedule for the day to see everything I need to do. My schedule is my planning, my diary.
During the day, I either give online lessons or prepare videos to help you in French. I teach lessons to students from all over the world. I have students from America, Brazil, England, Spain, Ukraine and many other nationalities.
These are conversation courses, preparation courses for the DELF and DALF exams, courses for beginners, for students who have an intermediate level, but also for those who have an advanced level. It's really interesting because each student is unique, they have their personality, their culture, their level, their objective and their life story. It's really rewarding and it's a real challenge to help them all in the best way possible, but it's great to be able to observe this progression and get to know each other through this exchange.
Besides, I too learn a lot of things during classes. Sometimes, when I don't have classes, I run. If you follow me on other networks, you already know that I love running.
It makes me feel really good. It's great for removing all the accumulated stress. Sometimes I also go to the gym, but I prefer to go running to see the beautiful landscapes of Toulouse.
In the gym, the atmosphere is a little different and you only see weight machines. It's not my thing, but it's good for your health. It's not my thing, that means it's not my favorite, I don't really like it, it doesn't interest me much.
At lunchtime, I always take a break to eat. I like going on the terrace when the weather is nice. It allows me to tan a little.
But when it's cold, I prefer to stay bundled up on my sofa. Being bundled up means being well wrapped in warm and comfortable clothes. Once lunch is finished, I return to work immediately afterwards and continue until the early evening.
When my work day is over, I love to have a drink with my wife to chat and talk about life. We often use the verb phrase “take a drink” in French. We also say: During the aperitif, Carolina and I cook together.
In fact, she's the one who thinks about the recipe most of all. I am the kitchen assistant, that is to say the assistant, the one who helps with the preparation. I cut tomatoes and onions, but I never cry because I have lenses to protect my eyes.
On top of that, I set the table so we can have dinner. After dinner, we sometimes watch TV if we're not tired. Do you understand when I say “it happens to us”?
That means it happens sometimes. We sometimes watch TV. Sometimes we watch TV.
I sometimes fall asleep watching the film. Sometimes I fall asleep watching the film. In fact, it's almost all the time.
And you, do you ever sleep in front of the TV? After the movie, head to bed to go to sleep. But first, we take a shower, we brush our teeth and I take the opportunity to take out my lenses because I can't keep them on to sleep.
So, I wear glasses for 20 seconds a day, just to walk between the bathroom and the bedroom. Apparently it's not good to keep your lenses in for too long, but I always forget to take them out early. In my previous sentence, I said: It is a phrase which is widely used and which means: It is said that.
People say that. For example: It seems that there are a lot of great, very complete lessons for learning French on the site: professorfrancais. com I advise you to go check it out because it's true.
But that's my day during the week. On weekends, I usually go out a little. I go to town by bike.
I'm going for a walk. I shop. I see friends.
I have picnics when it's hot and raclettes when it's cold. This is how my days go. Now, we're going to do a little quiz to test your oral comprehension.
But before continuing, if you like my work, don't forget to subscribe to the channel and put a "like" if this video helps you progress. Come on. Here we go for the quiz.
