hey Dr Amy here in this video I'm showing you eight fruits that prevent and kill cancer you do not want to miss out on these fruits that could help keep you cancer free the food you eat it matters whether you've been diagnosed with breast cancer or cervical cancer or colon cancer we know that the food you eat it matters when it comes to cancer or maybe you haven't been diagnosed with cancer and you're just wanting to lower your cancer risk either way your Food Matters your food is going to fuel cancer or fight cancer starting
with number one kiwi kiwi is packed with vitamin c a powerful antioxidant plus they're a tasty addition to your diet and they have that anti-cancer Force kiwi contains flavonoids keratinoid and actinidin an enzyme that is known to stop cancer cell proliferation Studies have even shown that kiwi promotes cancer cell death while saving healthy cells it's like a super superhero for your immune system okay but on to number two plums and peaches plums and peaches are not just delicious they're known for preventing different types of cancers they're rich in phenolic compounds including chlorogenic and neochlorogenic acids

is powerful against fighting cancer this is a Powerhouse against free radicals Studies have suggested that its compounds can inhibit cancer cell growth and even induce apoptosis it's not just a feast for your eyes it's a feast for your health too not many people incorporate dragon fruit into their weekly nutrition but this is a sign for you to start okay but next up is figs moving on to a classic this sweet treat is not just delicious it also has anti-cancer properties figs are rich in a bioactive compound called Benzel alide and that's known for its anti-tumor
effects with antioxidants and fiber figs remove potential carcinogens and fight against oxidative stress some compounds like saurin are even being studied for their ability to sensitize cancer cells to certain types of light therapy a woman that I work with in the cancer Freedom program she was really struggling to incorporate more fruit in to her diet she struggled with low appetite and taste changes it made it so she really wasn't hungry in the morning so she would just skip breakfast altogether not a great idea for cancer survivors so instead we focused on including dried fruit into
her nutrition this allowed her to eat a small volume of food while still getting the much needed nutrients that she needed as a cancer survivor and dried figs are a perfect addition because they're high in fiber as well so they really work to lower your risk of a Cancer recurrence and they help with constipation too okay but up next is cranberries let's turn our attention to cranberries a familiar Thanksgiving dish but you know they're actually more than just a tasty side dish packed with phytochemicals like proanthocyanidin cranberries disrupt cancer cells they not only prevent bacterial
adhesion to the urinary tract but they also May prevent cancer cell adhesion to other cells the high content of Vitamin C and antioxidants they protect against DNA damage and up next is a true staple for cancer survivors citrus fruits citrus fruits are a go-to for a burst of flavor but they also have a secret weapon and a lot of that secret is inside the peel loaded with vitamin C citrus fruits are a powerful antioxidant flavonoids inhibit tumor growth and cause cellular apoptosis regular consumption of citrus fruits has been associated with lower risks of certain types
of cancer cancers now like I mentioned a lot of that cancer fighting potential is actually in the peel so if you can zest citrus fruits and include them in marinades or salads that's great or you could take the peel and steep it in hot water to make a tea both would be great options now for some breast cancer survivors you may be taking tamoxifen a word of caution here about tamoxifen and specifically grapefruit grapefruit does interact with tamoxifen and also many other drugs so best to avoid fruit entirely if you're on tamoxifen but it's still
safe to eat and use lemons oranges or other types of citrus fruits okay next up is cherries cherries are one of my personal favorite with a sweet and tangy taste they make a really good snack but did you know they also possess anti-cancer properties cherries actually boast potent antioxidants they're anti-inflammatory effects actually protect the body against inflammation which can cause DNA damage Dage and eventually lead to cancer bioactive compounds and cherries can actually lead to cancer cell apoptosis and prevent angiogenesis during my own personal cancer treatment I ate a lot of cherries they're juicy so
they help keep you hydrated they have a really strong flavor that's sweet but also tart eating these help to fuel my body throughout my treatment plus they're such a small fruit that if you do have a low appetite you don't feel so overwhelmed by eating them you can just kind of pick away now at this point Point we've definitely gone through enough fruit that you could really put together a nice fruit salad just prepare it at the start of the week and eat it for breakfast every morning for the coming days every day you'd be
getting a really powerful combination of fruits that will help kill and prevent cancer because the true secret behind eating to prevent cancer or cancer recurrence is not found in just one Miracle food but rather by combining a bunch of fruits and a really strategic way because each fruit has its own unique nutrients and antioxidants that are going to lower your cancer risk so by combining them all throughout the day and the weeks and months you're going to get some really potent anti-cancer effects okay but last but certainly not least let's talk about tomatoes now tomatoes
