The BBC micro:bit can be programmed to make a wide variety of sounds from single notes, tones and beats to your own musical compositions. You can use your favorite online editor to write a program to create whatever sounds or music you'd like your micro:bit to play. Then, once you've downloaded and transferred your program to your micro:bit you can use crocodile clips attached to the pins to easily connect headphones or a speaker and listen to your musical creation.
You can also connect the buzzer to create a simple metronome and take your music-making further by programming and creating your very own keyboard using fruit or even a guitar using foil and cardboard.
