can you spare some time for God in our Busy World where every second feels packed we rarely have a moment to catch our breath let alone think about dedicating time to God but think about this if God created everything we see and everything we don't why do we struggle to give him even a moment of our day today we're going to dive into this powerful question and explore why and how we can start making intentional time with God not out of obligation but out of love God calls us to be in relationship with him as
Christians we understand that our lives are gifts given by him yet life's demands work schedules family responsibilities and daily routines often crowd out time with God it's not that we don't care it's just that we get so busy we forget to slow down and recognize what truly matters today I want to remind you that prioritizing time with God is the best investment we can make not only for our spiritual growth but for everything else in our lives let's think about relationships for a moment when you love someone whether it's a friend family member or spouse
don't you want to spend time with them relationships thrive on quality time the same is true with our relationship with God James 4:8 says draw near to God and He will draw near to you this is not only an invitation it's a promise God promises that when we prioritize time with him he meets us where we are bringing his peace wisdom and strength into our lives and if we look at Jesus's own life we see that even he God in human form took time away from the crowds to spend with his father in Luke 5:116
it says but Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed imagine that Jesus who was both fully God and fully human still valued and needed that connection with the father if it was essential for Jesus how much more so for us I want to share a story with you about a young woman named Sarah Sarah was a Christian active in her church and she loved God but between work social activities and her responsibilities at home she rarely found time to sit in prayer or read her Bible She always told herself she'd start spending more time
with God when things calm down but weeks turned into months and she noticed herself feeling more stressed anxious and disconnected from God finally Sarah decided to make a change she started setting aside just 10 minutes every morning to read scripture and pray that small change transformed her day she felt more at peace more connected and as if she were growing in her relationship with God Sarah's Story shows that it's not about waiting for the right time it's about making time right now God meets Us in even the smallest moments we offer to him many of
us feel we're too busy but let's be honest how much time do we spend scrolling through social media watching TV or doing other things that don't truly fulfill us Psalm 46:10 says be still and know that I am God this verse reminds us that taking time for God actually helps us find Clarity and calm in the midst of chaos we don't need hours each day but we do need intentionality another common barrier is that we don't feel Worthy some think I'm too broken or God wouldn't want to spend time with me but scripture reminds us
that God's love is unconditional Romans 58 tells us but God demonstrates his own love for us in this while we were still sinners Christ died for us God Longs for time with us not because we're perfect but because he loves us and desires a relationship with us now that we understand why spending time with God is important let's talk about how to actually do it here here are a few practical ways start small and build you don't need to begin with an hour start with 5 to 10 minutes of quiet time in the morning pray
read a verse or sit in Stillness gradually increase the time as it becomes a part of your routine set a specific time choose a time each day when you're least likely to be distracted it could be first thing in the morning or right before bed block this time out like an appointment with God a sacred meeting in that you don't miss use devotionals or Bible apps if you're not sure where to start Bible apps and devotionals can be great tools the Bible app for instance has daily verses and devotionals to guide you make it a
habit to read and reflect pray throughout your day prayer doesn't have to be formal talk to God as you would a friend while driving cooking or walking share your thoughts fears and joys with him attend church and join small groups Community is vital for our spiritual journey church and small groups allow us to connect with other believers and they encourage us to spend time with God in a communal setting think of spending time with God as filling a cup when we pour into our relationship with him we fill our spiritual cup and that enables us
to pour into others Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 29 come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn from me me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls by giving time to God we invite his rest and peace into our lives which in turn impacts everything we do imagine the power of starting your day with God's wisdom and strength or the peace you'd feel ending your day by giving your worries to him this
connection transforms us making us more loving patient and resilient the people around us our family friends and co-workers will feel the difference too in closing let me leave you with this thought we give time to what matters we all have 24 hours in a day but we choose where those hours go are we willing to spare some of that time for God the one who gave us life the one who loves us unconditionally I encourage you to make a small commitment today just a few minutes to invite God into your day you'll be amazed at
how this simple act can transform your heart renew your mind and deepen your faith let's take a moment to pray together heavenly father thank you for your Endless Love and for always being present even when we are distracted help us to seek you daily to make time for you and to draw closer to you renew our hearts and Minds so that we can be more like Jesus give us the courage to prioritize our relationship with you knowing that you are the source of all peace wisdom and strength amen men as we go forward reflect on
this question what would change in my life if I spent more time with God this week make a commitment even if it's just 5 minutes a day and see how God meets you in those moments remember he's always there waiting with open arms so can you spare some time for him let's make it a priority together thank you for being here today may you grow closer to God and find his presence more and more in your life God bless
