in the last couple years of Drp Shipping have done multiple seven figures and I want to show you guys exactly how I'm conducting product research as I help a lot of people in my community Discord in my free course and it seems the main thing that everyone's struggling with is how to do product research and how to do video ads so in this first video I'm going to be going over exactly how I conduct product research explaining everything at a very high level and then in the next video I'll be going very in depth on how I create video ads obviously when you make big claims you have to back them so we are in my store that has done over 2 million in sales I'll do a refresh for you guys this was a little bit ago but um we had a really low conversion rate on this we had 30 000 orders 2. 6 million sessions this store was all on Facebook and we had a huge customer return rate of 5. 22 which is very big average order value of 62.
so this was a really good store this was one of my first stores that really kind of crossed the high millions and if you guys are curious what product this was what brand this is what my website is what my ads were I break down all of that in a 100 free course that's going to be dropping this month so this is just one of the stores let me hop into the other one and show you the analytics there all right now we are in a second store this one did 770 000 and this was just with Tick Tock I did no other advertising platforms this is one of my first stores that really started to take off once Tick Tock advertising kind of came out Tick Tock advertising is very new we had a 2. 26 conversion rate on here around 19 000 purchases average order value thirty four dollars I'll hit a little refresh for you guys no funny business at all pretty low returning customer rate on this one but this was a testing store I didn't really try to go into The Branding like seven eight figure long-term route with this product that's what I want to teach you guys today is not only how to do product research how to do branding how to find audiences and create brands that people resonate with and really focus on how we can transition this into an e-commerce store playing that long-term game and hopefully creating a real brand that we can exit in the future so without further Ado let's get into product research so diving into product research the first thing we have to understand is what is our criteria list what does a winning product look like what traits does it have first thing is something that pretty much everyone talks about and it's a wow factor it helps so much to have something that's new something that people haven't seen before they they don't think oh I can just go get this at Target I can just go get this at Amazon real quick you want to have something where it feels like it's your brand you created it you were the designer and owner of this product that's something that really helps especially long term when we get into branding custom packaging and all that good stuff number two you need a sales price of at least forty dollars you just you can't get around this one selling products for twenty dollars online is not going to give you enough margin to have a profit and to pay for your advertising costs and if you're thinking long term when we pay influencers ugc creators I can really have the budget for that when we're getting twenty dollars per sale number three your product Cost needs to be around ten dollars if you're going to sell it for 40. I really like to have a 3X margin absolute minimum but a 4X really helps a ton number four you really need a high perceived value where someone thinks that this is worth so much more than it's gonna actually cost you to get the product number five the next one is really really big your product needs to solve a problem it needs to have pain points and we'll get into what pain is you can kind of change pain to Passion have passion points instead of pain points but both of those are going to be very essential you need pain points or you need passion points that you can really build emotional ties with your audience your fan base of people that are going to be interested in this product number six it really helps if someone can use this product or would use it daily because then they can see the benefits in their life when they're on your product page to purchase they can think and really visualize like wow my life would be so much more fun or so much more cooler if I had this product number seven really important we kind of talked about it a little bit but you need to have a passionate Community that's interested in this product you can't just sell something that everyone's interested in there needs to be a hyper specific group of people that you can focus on they either have a ton of pain your product solves or they have a ton of passion that your product helps them resonate with that's the best way to put that number eight your product needs to be relatively small or lightweight this is going to help with packaging this is going to help with fees long term especially if we're trying to go to the seven eight figure route and really get custom packaging warehousing and turn this into a real brand something that we could sell later number nine this is not the biggest deal but I advise to stay away from Electronics or things that can be like ingested or things that are fragile because there's a lot of risks with this if your manufacturer is not the highest quality which I give you guys connections to my exact 3pl companies that I work with Within a free course that's releasing I have Partnerships with direct 3pl companies that are going to give you guys amazing deals and work with you guys day one so we don't really have manufacturing issues like everyone else does but if you have a poor manufacturer electronic products can be obviously a really big risk and issue especially when you're trying to Brand long term if there's something that's ingested obviously there can be legal issues if you cause someone an illness or sickness later down the line or something along those lines and then if you have something fragile obviously that's just a big risk as well number 10 one of the big ones is you need an evergreen product we can't be selling products that are only sold in summer or only sold in Winter because when those time periods change we have nothing we go from making huge amounts of money to literally making nothing and then we have to wait until the season comes back again and we can't really build a seven eight figure brand with that limitation that's set on us so that is the 10 criteria points that our product really needs to fit in obviously your product is not going to fit into absolutely every single one of these 10 things but it's extremely important that your product at least resembles like 80 of these so now that we know what to look for where do we find it this is the big question and a lot of people don't like my answer because it's so simple but all I do is scroll on social media guys I have a private Discord community group where I just share all the things that I find on social media and I share my ideas my thoughts of hey this is a good product this is a good video ad this is a good website go check these out but I really just spend my time sitting and scrolling on social media and coming up with ideas there and I really want to go through some of the videos that I found and talk about why I think they're good products and even share the long-term vision of how you could take this product and turn it into a seven eight figure brand I know a lot of people don't like that answer of just sit on social media scroll around and try to find a video ad but I promise you this is going to be the absolute best place to find real potential it's not going to be on all these tracking apps and all these product research apps and jumping on hashtags like Tick Tock made me buy Amazon fines because everyone's looking there if there was a good product a really high seven eight figure opportunity once it kind of goes into the research tools once it kind of goes into those hashtags bags and all the drop shippers see it it really does lose a lot of its potential so the best thing you can do is find organic videos find real videos on social media and then orchestrate a plan after seeing them just like I said I do this all the time and I share my findings with my community group so let's jump into some of the video ads that I've sent to them so this product is a cat brush you put it on the wall and the cat obviously has a good time grooming itself whenever it wants to you can see how much it loves it but this is a really organic video this isn't an ad this isn't anything people are just resonating with it they just like it they just enjoy it and this product really fits our criteria very well if I look at it has a little wow factor you've probably never seen it I haven't I'm sure we could sell it for forty dollars I'm sure we could get it for ten dollars it has a high perceived value because someone is going to be so excited watching their cat have this reaction they resonate with this this video does good because it hooks someone in and then it transfers emotion to them it can picture oh my God my cat would love this right and then they go tell their siblings they tell their mom or dad or their boyfriend or whoever they have an animal with oh my God imagine if our cat had this and they're like we should get it huh oh it's 40 bucks sure let's do it the cat will love it so much so it resonates right it speaks to that community of people and it hits on their passion points this isn't a pain Point product it's small it's lightweight it's Evergreen the cat's gonna use it daily so this product is absolutely killer and then what I would do from here is I would go research the entire cat Market I would go on Facebook ad Library type in cap products I would go to Google shopping and I'd type in cap products go to shopping and see what type of products are coming up and my main thing here isn't doing product research it's doing brand research now because I found a product that has a high potential so now what I need to do is think of how can I wrap this product in a packaging that resonates with cat owners how can I make them feel like I'm speaking their language I'm hitting on their passion points I'm delivering a trustworthy high quality product that their cat's Gonna Love what type of cat brands are out there and who can I mimic with utilizing this product places I like to search to do the research like I said is Facebook ad Library take talks advertising Library as well obviously we're going to check Amazon we're going to check Google trends for big keywords like cat brush cat tools cat toy whatever and just kind of see what the Market's telling us next we can go to Alibaba and see what are one of these little wall hair cat comb brush things how much do they cost when you buy them wholesale and you can start to kind of figure out okay we can start Drp Shipping this with a 3pl company then we can start getting it in wholesale buying thousands of units at a time and maybe we get them for like two dollars and we keep selling them at 40.
that's where we have the money to start working with influencers to start working with ugc creators really build out a huge amount of content with this product send it to a bunch of people that have cats a bunch of cat influencers where someone's famous for having a cute cat we can send them the product and we have high budgets because we have really high profit margins so that's what I do I basically just search on social media all day until I see organic videos that have products that nobody's really talking about nobody's doing and I want to see that there's viral videos around them then I go research the market once I'm getting a really good understanding ending of other cat Brands other brands that are doing really good I should be tying a vision together of how I can name this brand how what type of language am I going to speak to these people that are interested in their cat and buying a cool product for them I should understand what content to put on my website I'm doing this research I can see what other good cat Brands look like how does their product Page look like and I can go study their video ads hey I found this cat brand doing really good let me go search up their Tick Tock account how are they making videos you can even take the videos that you make and go pay cat Pages cat meme pages on Facebook on YouTube on Instagram hey them to throw in a little shout out to your product hey do you want this for your cat go get it so you can kind of see how we can create this seven figure brand around doing some very simple product research because I'm sure you guys are scrolling on social media all day anyway just keep note of the products that you see of viral videos that you see that are tied around products I hope you're starting to see the bigger picture here I want to show you guys one more product that has really high potential and on this one I'm going to be going through that entire process I just Illustrated physically doing it and showing you guys what this process looks like so right here we have a video by Zaire Golf and they're doing the exact thing I talked about so this is a video that has 174 000 likes on Instagram and it's just a dude playing a little golf game he has a little matte set up he hits it over to a carpet so he's playing like a par 5 course right here and it's just a funny video like people just resonate with this so much even some of my friends have liked this video and it just shows him playing golf hitting amazing shots with his little golf toy and people that play golf resonate with this hard this is hitting their passion points extremely hard you can even put a putter in his hand put different clubs in his hand and actually like play golf with your friends this is a crazy easy product to Market and sell and to get content around he's just in his house hitting it on carpet and hitting it on little mats like this is definition of easy content it's a phone video there's no crazy hook there's no crazy music or editing that got someone interested it's just a video that speaks people's language it speaks their passion and that's why they're interested in it it's funny it seems fun like imagine having all your friends around and you're actually setting up courses through your house and playing it with little stick figure dudes so let's look a little deeper into this video this video is very simple we could go make a million of these but in the tag it says that it's made by some guy Brian May one two three four on Tick Tock but let's look at zyergoff what's xyre golf it's literally just a golf fan page like it's just a fun golf page let's see they have zired Goods so it looks like they're trying to sell something themselves let's look at zire golf this is the type of research I do I want to Deep dive and study everything they just sell really cheap golf towels these guys have no clue what they're doing and all they did was grab this video from someone on Tick Tock so let's go look up this app name on Tick Tock and see what this video is okay so we can see he got 1. 4 million videos organic on Tick Tock look at this guy's account 2 000 followers probably all from this video it's just random stuff of him cooking it's whatever like he didn't even mean for this to go viral he just bought the toy let's see who we got it from Mi golf where I got it see people are asking him they're begging him where can I get this where can I get this so now we'll go on the computer in search of Mi golf but this video like you guys can make this video so easy at your house order this product to your house off Amazon or something get content like this send it over to your friends have your friends come over and actually play a game like have fun enjoy it and film yourself like you hit a cool golf shot and everyone freaks out and runs around the house that's a viral video that's so easy like content is unbelievably easy for this product and you have an example of a video all he did was post golf Tick Tock hashtag birdie hashtag full video this is just super easy but let's go back and search up Mi Golf and see what this product is so I just went into Google and my phone search up am I Golf and it's mini indoor golf that's what they're kind of going for and now we have an example of a product page we can take of a website design we can take and they have really good content around this it shows that driver it shows like the Arc of the hit how much feet it'll on average go because you actually put different clubs in this little Toy's hand and you kind of have to plan your game out you have to like actually play golf with this little stick figure dude let's go look at their product page yeah this is like Boomer product stuff as you can see this is high ticket High average order value and they're sold out so they have all of these different options this is really smart they have different golf balls you can buy in case you lose them they have Hazard packages of like trees these are all sold out they have the golf player pack which is um 69 to play the game they have a two pack set and it looks like that's all they're selling but this is an amazing product so obviously once you find a product like this you need to Source it with a 3pl company like I mentioned in the course that I'm releasing in a month I have a partnership with a 3pl company that's willing to work with you guys day one you don't have to have a certain amount of orders daily like most of these 3pl companies do you have to have like five to ten orders a day or else they won't work with you at all but if you go through this course that I'm releasing we have a private link to a 3pl company that can Source this product for you and they're willing to work with you day one once you've sourced the product now it's the time to tie the audience and The Branding together and really get that vision of where am I going to take this product who am I going to Market it to what's my website going to look like how am I going to make content around it but we've already answered a lot of those questions because this product is just so easy obviously we're selling it to Golfers let's jump back into my computer and I'll show you guys exactly how I would do some really in-depth research within the golf market and community and understand how I can make the best website best content best brand that not only can sell this product through Drp Shipping to easily reach six and seven figures how I can start ordering this in wholesale where we can start getting custom packaging on our product we can even improve it we can get more hazards we can set up little water areas where if you hit it into the water you lose a point we can make the product higher quality and really turn this into an eight nine figure brand and be like the owner of this toy so let's jump into the computer and show how I would do all of this research and really begin to create this map an understanding of how we can get to the eight figure range first thing I'm going to do is go to Google shopping and I'm going to search the largest term I can think of when it comes to my product so I just typed in mini golf indoor game and the main thing we want to do is see who's paying for ads for this so if we see this sponsored section up here this is where everyone's paying for ads for that key term so we have Angel Elvis random name Teemu we have farugo golf Believers some Amazon listing spin paper and dhgate I'd say these are the main ones so let's go check out these different stores first we have Angel elves I guess that's what it is it's like see this is just a huge shitty store that sells everything nobody cares about this nobody this isn't a brand that people resonate with nobody really cares about this if they just see it on some like General store they're first off not gonna trust it it's called Angel elves and it has a cyan colored paw this doesn't speak to Golfers they don't care they're just gonna go to Amazon at this point if they see this as the landing page this might have worked back in 2017 but I can promise you it's not gonna work now so I'm just gonna get out of this one these guys are Teemu same they sell everything nobody cares frugo same they sell everything departments they sell everything nobody cares about that stuff let's see this one I don't even golf Believers this one's at least better but they stole the exact same product page as the other company see they're just trying to sell everything in the world when it comes to golf and yes this one has the best chance but this is still complete this looks like the most Boomer awful website you want to make something that looks high quality something that looks professional something that people can trust and you want want to basically have a one product store where it looks like Hey we're the inventors of this game we own this game this is our product we are the only seller and if you can make someone feel that you're going to be getting insane conversion rates and easily hit your six to seven figure monthly mark But if you look these guys still have Home and Garden they have absolutely everything they probably just started this as a general store and then obviously their golf products are what did the best so they changed their URL to golf Believers these guys are still complete these are preschoolers in the education level of e-commerce we got spin paper that also sells Mother's Day gifts spring clothing these stores don't work guys look at how bad everyone's copying the exact same what is this this is a picture from 2008 and you can see Mi golf so mi golf does seem to be like the OG guys that this is probably their product and it would be really smart for us to do like patent and trademark research to make sure that they don't have like legal rights to this product because then obviously we can't get to the seven and eight figure range with this product specifically so now I can see that most of the competitors are really bad but let's jump into the Facebook ad library and see what's going on when I put in these keywords so we typed in indoor mini golf game there's probably a better keyword but it honestly doesn't look like there is pretty much anyone doing Facebook ads with this so that's a little alarming I'll type in golf games see if there's any other results a lot of apps a lot of apps for your phone little phone games it doesn't look like there's anything like a mini golf toy but it looks like there's not much competitors for this so what I'm assuming is a lot of people are just relying on organic marketing and nobody's really killed this yet with paid advertisements next obviously we're gonna go to Amazon and see what's kind of Happening Here what are their average price points what are people selling this for so we have Mi looks like these guys are the top guys but since I'm seeing other people selling it with other packaging that does give me a lot of confidence that this isn't some trademark thing that someone has full ownership on it's not like proprietary in any way I'm assuming these 39 ones are super ghetto I would try to stay at the 100 level only sell this product and make sure you can source that with the 3pl um this hundred dollars is going to be really really important and as you can see these guys are doing wholesale inventory and they keep selling out because they're like the main people that sell it if I was coming to buy this game I would not buy this one I really would not even though it has yeah it's straight four rating pretty bad this one has a 4. 4 at least so I would buy the more expensive one so you really want to make sure you can Source this exact one that's a little bit more premium has all the clubs has the different balls different ball colors so someone can play with you you can like literally go play a par 5 course in your house with your friend and just have the best time and make phone content of you doing it it literally would just be fun so the next important thing that you really need to do is crush your branding crush your website and this is where you're gonna need to start studying just golf brands in general it doesn't matter with this product you need to just find the coolest golf brand and I do all of this through searching on Tick Tock I'll search up golf brand I'll search up golf brand on YouTube I'll search up all of these different social media platforms do it on Google shopping and really just try to find like who is a really cool new golf brand it has like a template something that I could mimic with my store who has the best branding and that without a doubt is golf Daddy go check out golfdaddy.
com this website's unreal look at this video at the start of someone swinging it's just so nice look at that logo absolutely beautiful with a little Club it's this is amazing look at this pop-up look at the custom graphics the gradients the content the video they have their own Discord Community they're little reviews home page is absolutely amazing and they are crushing it on YouTube shorts on Instagram reels Facebook reels Tick Tock so you guys can go study these videos and steal everything that they're doing just with your product to create a website just like this create content on social media just like this with your product these guys are the people that we want to mimic let's go check their um product page this is their main product the divot daddy Pro and I'll talk about this brand really quick actually so they started selling this really cheap AliExpress product and then they custom made their own so this is what we want to do long term we need to be starting off Drp Shipping and then once we see success once we hit seven figures we need to start ordering these in wholesale and improving upon the product right they made it a nice wood template around it it's like stamped in it's not going anywhere way higher quality and as you can see that was able to give them a higher price point which gives them a higher margin and they can make way more money start working with golf influencers and do all that cool stuff because if you go look at the standard one it's only 40 bucks now they're making 20 bucks more I guarantee since they're ordering them in wholesale they're getting it cheaper anyway so it doesn't even matter their margins are huge website's absolutely amazing their content is so good look at all these videos look at the clean pop-ups they have something that shows everything that's included in the Box they have pictures of all the people that have purchased one showing it in their little review thing here which builds a ton of credibility they have a little breakdown of the advantages they have questions FAQs reviews this is absolutely amazing and this is what you need to be doing with your store now when you're doing branding when you're thinking of these large maps of how can I do seven and eight figures how can I make real Brands long term you need to think of three things these are the key three things that are going to be able to help you achieve success when you're trying to make a successful brand you need to either be the first to sell a product the first to do something thing you need to be the best or you need to be different if you're not one of those three things you're not going to succeed in almost anything in life people will only care about you unless you're one of those three things you have to be the first or you have to be the best or you have to be different so obviously with this golf example we just have to be different and then later we can be the best once we invest more money into it and outperform Mi Golf and ultimately guys if you want to learn everything that I've been sharing at a way bigger detail I have my free course coming out this month if you're watching this video later it could already be out go check the link in the description and see if it's available inside this free course I go over absolutely everything I have learned from Drp Shipping since 2017.
