Hey guys, in today's video I'm going to show you the easiest way to get rid of negative feedback on eBay. And doing this does not require you to even call eBay. So you don't have to wait on hold.
You don't have to talk to some chatbot. All you have to do is follow this simple method. And doing this literally only takes less than 1 minute.
Basically, all you got to do is submit a help ticket on eBay. And I'm going to show you how to do that right now. Okay.
So now that we're on eBay, the first thing you need to do is log into your eBay account. Once you're logged in, look up at the top toolbar and you'll see an area where it says help and contact. Go ahead and click on that button.
Okay. Now that we're on the next screen, you're going to see a menu that says, "How can we help you today? " Go ahead and hover your mouse over that menu bar and make sure you type in these exact words.
You want to type in remove negative feedback. Now, once you've typed in the words remove negative feedback, whatever you do, do not click enter. If you click enter, it's going to take you to an article.
What you want to pop up is this menu bar down below. And that blue button right there is what we want to click on next. So go ahead and hover your mouse on it and click that blue button.
Now, when the next page loads, it's going to bring you to the actual feedback revision form. And here you can filter between all of your feedback from the last 30 days all the way up to 90 days. Any negative feedback longer than that, you can unfortunately not use this tool.
But anything within the last 3 months, you can request to get removed. And then over here on the far right side, you have a menu bar that says feedback rating. Here you can toggle between negative feedback or even neutral feedback.
If you have neutral feedback that you want to get removed, you can select that option. But basically, if you're wanting to remove your negative feedback, you want to make sure that negative feedback is selected. And then of course, whatever time frame you're looking for, the negatives, you want to make sure that you have that highlighted as well.
So now that I have that button selected here, I have a negative feedback that has popped up. And I'm going to try to get this negative feedback removed. What I need to do is I need to take my mouse over to the far right hand side of the screen where it says action.
And then I'm going to click on that blue button that says take action. And then when I click on the take action button, it's going to bring up another screen that says request to remove feedback and let us know why you think the feedback should be removed. And we'll look into it.
Go ahead and scroll down to the bottom of this form. And then there's an area where it says tell us what happened. Down here, you want to select the appropriate bubble that matches why you think your feedback should be removed.
For example, if they left profane or curse words in the feedback, you can go ahead and select that one. That's almost a guarantee that eBay will remove that feedback. Or if they left personal information in the feedback, like your address, your name, your telephone number, that's where you would want to select the second option.
Down below that, you have an option that says doesn't follow eBay policies like a legal concern, manipulation, feedback, extortion, anything like that. You would want to go ahead and click on that bubble. And then down below that, you have an option to select that if a case was resolved in your favor, you can get the negative feedback removed.
Or down at the very bottom, there is a final menu option that says other reason outside my control. And examples of this would be weather disruptions when it's being shipped, technical issues like a glitch on eBay, or even buyer error, like if they bought it and then had to cancel it and then left you negative feedback, that would also qualify for getting a negative feedback removed. But the good thing is if you do get a negative feedback that doesn't fall neatly into one of these categories, eBay does give you the option to add additional info down below.
So, you can go ahead and type in anything that you want down here in this menu bar to give the eBay rep that could be removing this negative feedback more information as to why it needs to be removed. Now, before we go any further in this tutorial, I do want to give you a little sidebar or a little bit of advice that will definitely help you with getting your feedback removed more successfully. And that is the more knowledgeable and the more well-versed you are in knowing eBay's rules and policies, the more success you'll have in getting negative feedback removed.
For example, if you can catch your buyer violating any of eBay's feedback policies, that's almost a guarantee that eBay will always remove the negative feedback. So, what I recommend to every eBay seller that really cares about their reputation and their public image on eBay is to take some time to study and really become familiar with eBay's feedback policies. If you're not familiar with those, I'm going to drop a link down in the description of this video.
If you click on that link, it'll take you to all of those policies and you can study them because knowledge is power. So now I've given some additional information on why I feel like this negative feedback should be removed. And now once I'm finished, all I'm going to do is take my mouse and come down and click send request.
And that's all there is to it. It says they've received my request. And if I click return back to the action center down here, I can see the status of what's going on with the case.
Right now, of course, it's still pending review. If I click on see details, it'll give me any other details about what's happening. Obviously, like I said, they're reviewing the request.
And I've normally found that it takes, you know, a couple of days for them to decide if they're going to remove the feedback or not, but you can always go back and monitor the outcome or the decision right here underneath the feedback revisal form. Now, you'll also receive correspondence from eBay in regards to the decision or the outcome of the case into whatever email address you have connected to your eBay account. So, also monitor your eBay for any status updates as well.
Now, before I end this video, I do want to take a second to say that if for whatever reason eBay decides to not remove your negative feedback, whatever you do, do not panic. Trust me, it is not the end of the world. In the early days of eBay, having the highest feedback score possible was extremely important because the lower your feedback score, the more it affected your seller account.
Whereas in 2025, the year that I am making this video, that is no longer true. And the reason is now eBay considers feedback a buyer confidence metric, meaning that it's just a tool for buyers to look at your eBay store and see how professional or unprofessional you are as a seller. So, if you end up with negative feedback that cannot get removed, go into your seller account and reply to that negative feedback in a professional manner, doing so will allow your future eBay customers to see how you respond to customer issues and how you handle customer service.
So, in a crazy roundabout way, negative feedback can actually give future customers more confidence to buy from you rather than if you were to have 100% positive feedback. And as I briefly mentioned before, negative feedback in 2025 no longer affects your seller metrics. So all of the wives tales about you getting less sales or you being bumped down in the search algorithms simply are no longer true.
But what is true and probably what is more important to focus on rather than negative feedback is making sure that you're not getting any types of seller defects. And if you're not familiar with what seller defects are on your eBay account, those are the things like late shipments, cancellations that are initiated by you as the seller for items that are like damaged or out of stock, things like cases that aren't decided in your buyer's favor that you did wrong. Basically, anything that would drive a customer away from shopping on eBay in the future, those are the things that can get you a defect, and that's what you really want to pay attention to nowadays more than your feedback rating on eBay.
So, there you have it, guys. That's how you can quickly and easily send a request to eBay to get your feedback removed. If you have any questions about anything that you saw in this video, feel free to drop a comment down in the comment section below.
And I promise I'll try to do my best to get back to you.
