open AI just release advanced voice mode for most paid chbt users but there's some kind of fatal flaws uh that really keep you from using this especially for business purposes all right so I'm going to quickly kind of give you a recap at least of what that big flaw is and show you a quick workaround all right and just just so you know uh this new advanced voice mode the normal voice mode standard voice mode has been out for many months the new advanced voice mode uh which is kind of breaking the internet right now
has only been out for less than 24 hours so uh if you if you live in the UK EU some other territories over there you might not have access and this is slowly being rolled out uh this week so I'm going to quickly tell you what you need to know all right but real quick if you don't know about me I have to tell you a little bit here so uh my name is Jordan Wilson and I'm the host of everyday AI so we're a daily live stream podcast and free daily newsletter helping everyday people

see I'm already doing uh because I am recording uh my phone in real time so I want you guys to see this right so when I scroll down there there so you know there's there there's no fancy editing uh so one of the biggest uh downsides all right and I did two already big reviews on advanced voice mode so I did one uh video where I kind of went over what's new I I showed you everything just a quick just you know not deep dive and then I did a second video so you can go
check those out right here so the second video uh was much more in depth right so that was our live stream SL podcast for today but there is a big problem so essentially what that problem is is this new advanced voice mode cannot work with any of the tools inside of Chad GPT what that means if I start in advanced voice mode and then I want to access it on my computer or if I want to type something it's going to break it so then I can't go back into advoice advanced voice mode so essentially
it's a mode and as soon as you try to do anything inside of chat gbt that you would want to do especially if for business purposes type something upload a document Etc what happens is you can no longer use this super powerful super amazing advanced voice mode so it cannot use browse with Bing if you ask it to uh it it can't use Advanced Data analysis code interpreter it can't use Dolly uh so all of the features that you know it doesn't have access to the 01 model right so all all the normal chat gbt
features that you know and love are not accessible right so essentially this new advanced voice mode for now lives in a silo uh but I still think it's extremely powerful if you know some workarounds so you know from a business perspective that's what I'm talking about here having essentially a consultant in chat gbt that responds to you in real time is amazing right it can in theory it can sense your voice like if if if it's you know if you're nervous about something if you're upset if if you're sad if you're happy right it can
sense that and it will respond accordingly which for having that as like an on demand consultant where it's fast low latency amazing downside you can't really do anything with it right uh it it has a older knowledge cut off so anything for business you have to manually talk and share all that information you can't paste anything in it doesn't work with gpts so it's extremely limited all right I wanted to First paint the picture I'm not you know trying to wind anything up but I need you all to understand the huge promise and the huge
downside right now so we do know that future updates are going to take care of this because open aai has demoed this right this people are calling it more her right but essentially it will be able you will be able to share your file share your screen it can see you but right now it can't and we don't know if that's going to be you know two months or two years until we get access so here's one quick workaround all right so uh here's what we're going to do again uh allow me to Fumble around
a little bit it is it is kind of difficult to uh record your phone and to have you here uh advanced voice mode Talk in my microphone and for you to see it anyways so what I did is I went into chat GPT so I'm trying to use this as a business consultant but I can't type all this I can't copy and paste this I can't upload files it's actually terrible so Chad gbt knows Absolut or advanced voice mode knows absolutely nothing about my business so I can't really use this as a business consultant right
so here's what did I used chat GPT uh I said please do as much research as possible about everyday AI by Jordan Wilson look at as many sources as possible from 2024 and list everything out exhaustively use browse with Bing right so I went through I then did the exact same thing in perplexity pasted that in and essentially I told chbt some more information so yes this probably took about a minute and a half uh but I had more control whereas if I was trying to speak this this would take me so long for me
to speak I like I forget so like so many of these things like I forgot like oh yeah I talked at Chicago AI week right like I wouldn't remember that off the top of my head but a large language model that can browse the internet is really good at bringing in all this information so then essentially what I'm doing is then I'm taking all this information and I'm going to go to text to speech so I'm going to the open AI playground so the text to speech playground all right uh let me rephrase this or
resize this here so you can see so uh you need a uh essentially a playground account account or a platform account uh so you will have to link a credit card this is not going to cost a lot right because it's Dirt Cheap to do this all right so all I'm doing is now I'm taking this information uh that was inside of chat gbt and I'm going to turn it into text to speech and I'm going to have uh advanced voice mode listen to it because like I said for me to be able to Rattle
this off unless I'm reading a script right it's going to take a while it's going to have a lot of back and forth and I'm going to burn through uh that daily limit of advanced voice mode we still don't know if that's 30 minut or 90 minutes open AI hasn't told us yet but we've seen different reports all right so let's try to do this so I'm going to first tell advaned voice mode uh what I'm doing all right so so you can see this live in real time then I'm going to hold my phone
I have a terrible speaker so I'm going to hold my phone over by my speaker hopefully it's going to be able to hear this and then hopefully we'll have a great workaround all right let's get started hello sometimes chat gbt the advanced voice mode doesn't trigger right away hey chat gbt uh you're going to help me uh be a consultant so I want you to you know think as a digital strategist with a ton of experience you worked at places like McKenzie deoe Etc so I'm going to get I'm going to share a lot of
information uh about myself and my company everyday AI uh then I'm going to uh have you listen to some information about uh everyday Ai and myself and eventually I want you to turn into a Brash consultant uh don't be politically correct don't waste words when you respond to me you're going to uh just give me like cut it to me straight right uh so does that make sense uh before we get started absolutely I'm on board lay it on me about everyday Ai and yourself and when you're ready I'll switch into that non-nonsense consultant mode

first test right here where it says transcript unavailable uh it actually showed me everything so give me give me one second here I'm GNA pause this so you can't see everything inside my chat GPT account but I'm going to show you okay we're actually good nothing too uh private or sensitive so I'm going to go down to this one so you'll see last time okay this is this is interesting here um the transcript actually went away however I do believe that advanced voice mode and chat GPT is going to now retain all of this information
so that was a lot uh I did twox as well because it's like I'm like I don't have time for all this so now I'm going to jump back in and we're going to test if it retained all this information all right so let's go ahead and do that uh Now give me a second we lost our thing there we go all right we're going to go back into advanced voice mode hey can you just give me a very very highlevel quick bullet point uh recap of everything I told you about everyday AI absolutely here's

and why I think you should too so yes in theory you could just make a script right for me my voice gets very tired uh right I can't do that uh but I think the combination of using chat gbt to scrape all relevant information from the web about your topic because here's the thing the biggest downside of advanced voice mode right now is you can't upload any documents you can't type as soon as you type you can no longer use advanced voice mode right you can't use it with gpts there's so many downsides yet the
promise is so high the challenge is you have to get as much relevant information very specific very targeted about whatever it is that you're working on and if you just do it in the com conversational flow it's going to take a very long time because let's be honest my brain could not have recapped everything uh as nicely as it did right here using chat GPT but chat advanced voice mode can access this information so a little a little workaround there uh to just put it into uh any text to speech so you don't even have
to use the platform. openai right the text to speech playground it's very cheap uh that probably cost me like a penny not even uh there's plenty of free Services you can do and then just put it on 2x put it right you know make sure that you know if you're on uh you know a speaker whatever make sure that you place it in front so it can hear and say something like hey I'm going to talk for a while don't respond back until I say I'm finished but now all of that information this advanced voice
mode now's no now knows so otherwise if I was trying to use this as a consultant I would be spending so much time I would probably go through right we don't know if the daily limit is 30 minutes or 90 minutes I would probably go through the majority of that just explaining all of this that now I did it with this little kind of shortcut so now I have a hopefully very high-powered consultant that I can just talk to at any time so let's just do a couple quick demos yeah I don't want this to

longer video um and I hope that you can understand the intent behind it because right now what I have is a very powerful tool right now but by default out of the box this isn't very good right because large language models in their training data like chat gbt are just trained to be a helpful assistant but the problem is these models are so big right so if you don't make them smaller and more specific with your data you're going to get a lot of gibberish you're going to get a lot of things that aren't very
useful so if I went through and did that same exercise without sharing all that information it would have given me a bunch of garbage because I went through and I shared that information with CBT it gave me some much better Insight some like one or two of those I actually hadn't thought of and I think about this all the time right so it gave me some pretty good suggestions but now I have a consultant that I can go and speak to at any time that knows me it knows my company it knows my pain points
