Everyone watching will think it's just another island episode, like season one, and then, bam! Beast Games, welcome to Survivor. Welcome to Fiji.
We've never done anything like this. I'm about to lose my mind. I don't know how they do it on Beast Games.
On Survivor we move quickly. People are gonna think it's scripted. Biggest villain in our show is about to get the coin.
The ten-million-dollar coin. Everybody clear, please. I'm thinking about takin' it.
That's a monster. He needs to get right with God. You're gonna have to deal with four people who are ending.
I'm content with myself. I'm not a greedy person. We're gonna decide who's competing for a $1.
8 million island, right here, right now. It is loud. They got the pyrotechnics, the explosions, the lighting.
. . It is unbelievable.
This is the most important day of our entire season. The winner of Beast Games: Survivor $1. 8 million island.
. . That little moment, I'd say that's what Beast Games is all about.
You guys have no idea how epic this is gonna be. Like in season one, we are about to play Captain Bribe. "You wanna create a better life for you and your family, and that if you walk away a millionaire, it would change your life dramatically.
" Oh, my God, there's like no glass wall. There's nothing separating me from the-- The only thing keeping me from falling off the edge right now is this harness. Why do this?
This is, like, messing with my mind. That's exactly why we do this. This is the most important day of our entire season.
This is the make-or-break as to whether somebody watches our whole show or leaves after episode three. So, we really want it to be something special and magic. Turn on the lights!
Welcome, contestants! We're about to play Captain Bribe. I'm gonna have each of you select a captain to represent your team.
I would accidentally hit the button, bro. There's no way I'm going up there. We've been talking about this since the start, since Vegas.
I've seen the notes that they're typing to capture all the dialogue that'll set up some of the moments of betrayal if somebody takes the bribe. If I told you I wasn't gonna do it. .
. -Yep. -.
. . I'm not gonna do it.
-Are we all good with it? -I'm good with JT. Let's lock it in.
He's the one that just won for us, why wouldn't we go with him? The storyline's gonna be something. There's one person that feels shaky, and I think that shaky person knows the others are rock solid, so they can push it a little higher.
Who is the shaky person? 126, pink. This is not what I wanted anymore.
And then Tyler is 162. . .
-Vance does not trust him. -Who are the rock-solid people? Jeff in blue.
Yes. He's solid. It's one of those things, right?
You hit that button, you're probably gonna be eliminated next challenge anyway, so. . .
You'll have so much money, who cares? -Hey, Johnny! -Jimmy, you are the worst, man!
I mean. . .
-Jimmy's the worst! -But also the best. If you're in his shoes.
. . Here we go.
Start the money counter! Let's see if any of them take a bribe. Let's go.
If you press that button, I will wire you $25,000. Come on, somebody take it. Just take it.
$400,000. Just say no to bribes. -You got this, Hannah.
-That's a lot of money. She might be the button pusher. It's going up faster and faster!
That's the shot. That's the shot. -It's speeding up.
-Here we go. Your word, your heart, is not for sale. 990, one million.
. . Oh, my gosh.
Mia's turned her back. Everyone's coming down from the tower, and that has to be one of the most awkward rides down, because JT is there and screwed over his team, took the one million dollar bribe. Do you think you'll be lifelong friends with JT?
No. He needs to get right with God first, that's worth more than $1,000,000. I don't care about him taking the money.
He broke his word. He broke his word, his faith, his conscience. .
. JC, console him. What's it like to take money for your family?
You have a lot more support than you think you do. If there's anybody here that understands why you did what you did, it's me. I'm gonna take 650.
Okay. We're not here to split the money. This was the one thing we could've split.
At the end of the day, your family comes first. It's been a year. Do you regret taking the 650?
-No regrets. No regrets. -Okay.
-I think. . .
-It changes your life. I think I'm gonna have the same feeling. JT, that's a monster.
That's a monster. It's a really important day for us, because we have live firing of cannons, we have pyros, we have fireworks. We've got a big crew here.
We have to shoot all of this before 2:00 a. m. The limo is outside right now.
The jet is ready. We're about to go to the island. Ten of you are about to go.
All right, contestants. Come on over. We're gonna decide who's competing for a $1.
8 million island, right here, right now. I'm here with the drone pilots. They're just getting ready.
I want a drone sitting somewhere right around here. And I want it moving this way. Raise the wall!
Don't pull that lanyard until I give you the signal. Eyes are on him the whole time. Eyes are on me.
So I'm gonna back up, because I don't wanna get hit by the cannon. Thumbs up if everybody understands that. Jimmy's gonna say, "Somewhere in this city are 10 cannonballs.
" I hid 10 cannonballs all around the city. Oh, my God, you can see there's something here, that's awesome. They have to say the word "cannonball" to you, and then you go, "Actually.
. . " And you reach down, grab it, and you lift it right up.
The first 10 people to find a cannonball and shoot this cannon, goes to the island. Go! All right.
Ten cannonballs. All right, we got our first finder. Johnny, try to get her shooting it ASAP so they hear it.
She's about to fire the first cannon! What shot are you trying to get right now? One of them is gonna be hovering right in front of the cannons, master wide, and hopefully the cannonball's right under.
And then we've got FPV going on now. Okay, so, we got someone coming up with the cannonball now, so we'll try to give a low tracking shot as he heads out. Paul up there is a Drne Racing League world champion.
What I'm gonna try to do is fly past the cannon as it fires. -That was sick! -Thank you.
You guys have been flying these drones all show long. How much do these things cost? You can buy what you see here for about 18 grand.
But by the time you get everything you need to actually do an entire show's worth of production, you're probably looking at more like 25-ish per drone. Round up. Thirty, all day.
They're not cheap. And for something that is not cheap, we put them in some precarious places. -Like what?
-In front of cannonballs. You're the second person going to the island. Whenever you ready.
All right, taking off. Schematics. He's gonna shoot it.
-That was crazy. -There are six left, and we've been looking for a hot minute. The contestants are racing around the city.
We got our headphones on just to block the noise from the explosions of the cannon, because it is loud. They got the safety measures in place, they got the pyrotechnics, the explosions, the lighting. .
. It is unbelievable. Heck, yeah!
Let's go! When the last cannonball runs over there, I need everyone to be like, "Yeah! " And then Jimmy's gonna trigger the big bomb.
I think we have one more person that just found a cannonball. Found it! JC, you're going to the island!
Yes! -Go, go, go. -Don't look!
Cannon! -Fire! -Cannon-- Cue the fireworks, Joe!
Here comes the biggest explosion yet. You're all competing for the island. All right, the fireworks are over and the fire department is here on site making sure the flames, all the smoke, everything is safe.
Let's go to the limo! The limo's coming! Come on down, into the limo.
One of these 10 contestants is winning a $1. 8 million island. -Island!
Island! Island! -Island!
Island! Island! -Island!
Island! Island! -Island!
Island! Island! Fiji!
-Let's go, JC! -More money! Jimmy, is it wild that Jeff's first season of Survivor was when he was 27 years old, and you're 27 years old right now?
-Really? -Yeah. Dang.
I mean. . .
Yeah, there's two ways you can look at it. You can look at it as Jeff's been doing Survivor as long as I've been alive. Every second I've breathed air is a second he's spent making the show.
Or he's been doing it since my age, which shows that I could start something new now and it still could be huge. What's up? You're finally here.
How's it going? -Nice to finally meet you. -Finally, man.
-Thanks for coming out here. -Yeah, thank you. Beast Games, welcome to Survivor.
Welcome to Fiji. Hey everybody, we got Beast Games team here. How's it going?
Nice to meet you all. We're here in Fiji for the big crossover episode between Survivor and Beast Games. We got Jeff Probst, host of Survivor who I feel like has changed TV in the same way that Jimmy has changed YouTube, and today's gonna be our big rehearsal day.
So, the contestants still don't know what we're going to be doing here. They just think it's another island challenge. Little do they know, that Survivor is coming for them.
Everyone watching Beast Games season two is gonna think this is just another island episode like season one, and then, bam! They're gonna get hit with the Survivor club. It's gonna be sick.
The Beast Games team, there's only 10-20 of us who flew into Fiji. And the majority of the production is the Survivor team. We've revamped it all into your color scheme, -with your logos and your banners.
. . -I love it.
We think it works pretty well, but the idea is, we run it, and then you and your team tweak it as you want. For the first phase, you go through here. You got coconuts.
You gotta stand on this platform, take one coconut at a time. . .
I'm letting Jeff take over this episode. I'm following his lead. It'll be fun.
I don't know how they do it on Beast Games. On Survivor, we move quickly. I don't wanna conform Jeff to our style, I wanna conform myself to his style.
I mean, it's 50 seasons. Clearly, people like it. Survivor has really perfected storytelling.
Survivor's like the godfather of this whole thing. It's what started all of this. We kind of have Survivor to thank for that.
Hey, Karl, hop up there. I don't even know where to go from here. To me, this is the highest point we'll ever see, I think.
-Like, this is as cool as it gets. -You said that to me last year when you guys flipped a $10 million coin. This is the craziest thing that's ever happened.
What comes next, now? -After this? -Yeah, bro!
This was like, it, dude. And here we are. What beats this?
I don't know. Yeah, dude. I'm here for life.
Welcome to the Tribal Council from Survivor 49 which we kept up. We normally tear it down when we're done. We kept it up 'cause we knew you all were coming.
It is a massive shipwreck. That's the Survivor Art Department. That's how much we love that Beast Games is here.
How many people work on Survivor? So, we're around 800. On a big season, if we've got a lot going on, we can get up to 1,000.
Is that just the main show, or is that including all the regional ones as well? No, that's just our show. -Yeah.
-That's 350 full-time? Yeah. We're doing it a little differently here.
I took a nod from Beast Games. You have sort of a looser approach. We're very uptight and formal.
Teach me the ways. I know I'm gonna learn from you. We're gonna have a vote right here.
They've taken this genre and just steroided it. Everything's bigger. The bribes are not a hamburger.
The bribes are cash, and a lot of cash. Season one, we gave away $24. 5 million.
-All right. -Thanks, guys. -Sweet.
-Thank you, everybody. I'll see you all tomorrow. Okay, good night.
This is the Survivor Island. This is it, right here. And like our crew showing up to work with them.
We've never done anything like this. We're super insulated. You could say protective of our show.
We really don't typically even have people visiting but the only people we would have here would be Beast Games. Getting excited. Get to meet the players, see Jimmy.
. . Tyler, what's in your hand?
What do you think? It's the deed of the land. The deed of the island.
Not this island, but the deed to the one they're gonna win. That's right. 'Cause they're coming here, and they don't really know what's about to happen here.
They all still think that the island that they're coming to is their island. They think that this is the island. Yeah, they think that this is the one we're gonna give away.
It's not. We're not even in the same hemisphere. -Big stakes here.
-Yeah. Gotta get it right. Frame up his head, and let him go a bit wider as he's walking, so you get a little bit.
The goal is I want the viewer to be like, "Yo, I think that's Jeff Probst," and then it is. -Russ, go ahead and roll. -Rolling.
Action, Jeff. That's sick. Clear out, clear out.
Welcome! Come join me. -Jeff Probst?
-Yes, it is. -What? -Jeff's here!
Yes! -What's up, dude? -Oh, my God!
Up to this point, you've been taking orders from me. We're on Jeff's island. Jeff's group built this.
I'm all about human behavior, and this is. . .
Mreast and Beast Games is one of the greatest studies in human behavior ever. I think what we're doing on Survivor is very similar to what you're doing. A lot of our inspiration came from Survivor.
I mean, you're the godfather of challenges. I think as similar as Jeff and Jimmy are in their content, they're totally different in their approach. That is not how we shoot, at all.
And it's fun to watch Jimmy, sort of, go wherever he wants. He doesn't care that his hat covers his face, and doesn't care that his back's to camera. I literally was looking at Jimmy going, "This guy's the king.
" Clearly genius. Knows exactly what he's doing, and it is really fun to watch him, and try to figure out what is it he knows that I need to learn because it's clearly working. I gotta go eat a Feastable.
Yeah. Okay. We officially have our two team captains.
Yeah. I'm dreaming. This is crazy.
We're all rolling? All right, over to Jeff. -Go!
-All right, they're off. First out of the gate. That's how you do it on Survivor.
Nick is falling incredibly behind. Come on, Sue! Come on, Sue, get in there, dig!
Is this it? I'm looking for hat, tile, Doge, donkey. Where is nine on this?
There's no nine here. At what point does she not listen to her team and just do her own thing? Yellow's on their last leg.
You're good, Yellow, let's go! Come through, come through. How bad do you want it?
I think it is Pink, officially in the lead now over Yellow. It's cool. One last block!
It is not gonna matter. -Yellow wins and is moving on! -Yeah!
Yeah! That's it, it's over. It's over.
-Yellow team won. -Yellow team wins it. Yellow team, you're moving on.
And I hate to be the bad guy, but now you're all enemies. I thought we performed well, and then it just came down to the puzzle, and it's, like, it's hard. -Ethan!
Ethan! Ethan! -Ethan!
Ethan! Ethan! You promise not to tell anybody?
This won't see the light of day until after the show airs. Perfect. I can't root for JC, I just can't.
I love him. JC, I love you. I promise you, I do.
But I can't root for him to win the island. A set is not complete until they shoot social media content. That's what we've learned from Jimmy throughout all of this.
They're about to film a few Instagram photos, a few TikToks and reels, and I wouldn't be surprised if after this Survivor starts doing even more social posts. -Here's your microphone. -Thanks, Jimbo.
There you go. I wouldn't be surprised if after this, Survivor starts making even more social content because they've got these amazing set pieces and art pieces that they could do so much more with beyond the show. If my ball gets in the target before yours will you go on your YouTube channel and say, "Survivor's the greatest show -and everybody should watch it"?
-Yes. I will 100% promote it, but you're not winning, so, it is what it is. Three.
. . Two.
. . -One.
. . -All right, ladders out!
Just so you hear it, if for whatever reason, you want the ladder back, let us know, we will bring it back. You don't have to slide down. I would crush every single one of these guys at this, and it wouldn't even be remotely close.
I just wanna put that out there. I'll do it for free. He's got his feet off.
Dig deep, Nick, it's not over, brother. -Just come back. Wrap your arms.
. . -Come back, Nick.
Come back, Nick. Dang! Tyler, this could get interesting quickly.
Jimmy, he is jamming his face. . .
-That does not look comfortable. -. .
. for leverage. Jeff is coming in with a little bit where he's giving away a burger which is a big deal on Survivor.
Ethan, this is a fresh burger made in our Survivor kitchen. . .
I don't like burgers. -Ian? -Ian said no.
Give it to the losers so they feel a little better. And then Jimmy's gonna come in with his big twist. Karl!
Bring it on in! I'm curious. .
. will any of you take my $50,000 bribe? Take the money, Ethan.
They're coming for you. Could be the only time you get guaranteed 50 grand. It is interesting how fast personality gets revealed, isn't it?
-Yeah. -Yeah. You ask great questions.
I've heard you studied police interrogations? -Is that true? -That's true.
I love watching the cat and mouse game. Ethan, you're good. Stay on.
Bro, both of us have families. You're not gonna beat us on Tribal. -Six.
. . five.
. . -Ethan, take it.
-Ethan, don't do it. -Take it, Ethan. -I'm gonna take it.
-Ethan. . .
-No, Ethan. -Yeah, you're good. You're good, if you slide down now, -I'll allow it.
-Ethan, do your thing. Wait. Ethan is really taking it.
Okay. Wait. Ian, you can slide down.
Ian was about to give in, too. Jimmy, would you have upped the bribe? Like, $50,000 for you is like pennies.
I know, but the thing is, Ian was about to drop, so, I wanted to get it in before he fell. If they were all, like, going steady. .
. Yeah, I would've thrown hundreds of thousands of dollars on it. They definitely left a lot of money on the table there.
That was intense. I can't believe he turned down the shot at $1. 8 million because it's not 50/50, like, no one's gonna vote for JC, it's basically 95% chance at $1.
8 million. Right, I see what you're getting at. -Yeah.
-That Ethan made the. . .
-Yeah, that was crazy. -That's why your temptations are cool. Does seeing bribes with that much money, or the fact that Jimmy has given over $24,000,000 in one season, you've given over $50,000,000 over 50 seasons, does that make you think about the prize money you wanna give away on Survivor moving forward?
No, because this is the fundamental difference of the two social experiments, in my opinion: Beast Games is about what you would do for money. Survivor is who are you, when stripped of everything. So our show, the money is.
. . the carrot, but the experience and the adventure of being tested with, while you're living in nature with no food and no sleep, that's what the show's about.
Your experiment is very different. You just saw it play out. Ethan was, as Jimmy just said, seconds away from probably the island because he's saying JC can't get the votes.
-He can't get the votes, yeah. -But the minute Jimmy said, "This is guaranteed," Ethan said, "I'm taking the guarantee. " That little moment, that little moment, I'd say, that's what Beast Games is all about, right there.
JC, I don't know how you did that. Oh, my God. My heart is like, a million miles.
. . -It's crazy.
-Yeah. When you were talking to him, I did not think that he would step down. You think your talking made the difference?
I was about to step down. Yeah. -Yeah.
-I was 30 seconds away from giving up. Because this started burning over here, my legs were wobbly, I was getting sweaty. .
. That was my Hail Mary shot. -Telling Ethan to.
. . -Just take the money.
Just take it. I had to get in his ear, you know? This is the smart choice, just take the money.
And he did it. He would've outlasted me, for sure. Even now, people say, "When are you gonna be done?
" I don't know. I love pointing to you as an example, because I say the same thing. I've been doing YouTube for 15 years, and everyone's like, "Well, eventually you're gonna get too old," because I've been doing it since I was 12, and I'm like, "Jeff's in his 60s now, he's still going.
Why do I have to stop before I turn 30? What do you mean? " They're like, "So when you're 40 years old, you'll be making YouTube videos?
" And I'm like, "Yeah, why not? " You leave a Survivor season, you know the contestants. All the contestants, their motivation, why they were doing what they were doing.
You almost feel like a parasocial relationship with them like you're their friend, and you had that feeling with some people on Beast Games in season one but in season two, we got the numbers down way faster, so we could go more in-depth and get to know them. We'll never get them to the point like you, but. .
. Your storytelling is up here, and you leave knowing the characters, and I would say season one, we're down here, and in season two, I'm trying to bring it up to here, where you feel like you know a lot of the contestants. That's cool.
That's a nice compliment. And you bring spectacle in a way that really blows up an idea, which is cool. The question is, who's gonna be doing this longer?
Me or Jeff? I'll let you guys decide that. I got another 20-30 years in the tank.
Does he? That's unfair. Yeah, who's gonna quit first?
"He's in his 60s, he's so old. " This is how I think Jimmy sees me. No, I see you a little more bent over.
Yeah, sorry, that was a little too healthy. Just kidding. Let's come up here.
This is great. We're on top of Tribal. This is nuts.
Come here. If you turn on the lights, look how hidden this is. And now, all of a sudden, you see three cameras, just on the contestants.
You don't notice them in the background, so, it becomes an intimate conversation even though millions of people are watching. Come here. You have a jib.
You have 1,2,3,4,5 cameras. The whole idea is that contestants forget that there's cameras in their faces. So, that way, you get the betrayal, the honesty, you get the authenticity.
And it's gonna feel tense and I want it to feel tense. Let it sit. There's an island on the line.
You can tell. Bring out Ian. The money that's in my bank account right now it's never been as close to zero as it is right now.
So, me coming here was a major risk. I've had a lot of time to reflect on my decisions. That's something I live with, and I'm trying to be the best version of myself I can possibly be.
-You wanna vote? -Yeah. You guys have all got your opinions out.
It's time to just write it down. Logically, who do you give an island to? A guy who doesn't have $650,000 or a guy that does?
Who's gonna come in first based on that? The winner of Beast Games: Survivor $1. 8 million island.
. . Ian.
Congratulations. -Meaning what? -JC's gonna come in second.
-What happens to the second-place person? -You tell me. You wrote the show.
Who's-- If you get second place-- People are gonna think it's scripted. JC came all this way. .
. You don't think we're just gonna let him leave with nothing, do you? Before we film the first frame of this entire show, the person who came in second place receives the coin.
A ten-million-dollar coin, to be precise. Oh, JC! If you make it to the top six, I will let you flip this coin to double the prize pool to $10 million.
But if you get eliminated before then, the coin is eliminated with you. -What's going on in your mind? -Leverage.
That coin is basically an immunity idol. Because why would you get rid of the person who has a chance to double the prize pool? So the biggest villain in our show is about to get the coin.
How is that not crazy? Obviously, we could not do this without this entire Survivor crew on their day off, I think, saying, "Yeah, we'd like to do something fun with you guys. " So, on behalf of Beast Games, we are so grateful.
You guys have no idea how epic this is gonna be. People are gonna love it, and I am very grateful for you guys. This is gonna be a jaw-dropper for them.
-Survivor Reddit's gonna go crazy. -It's gonna break everything, yeah. They can have anything they want.
What happens behind the scenes when I pick up? We've got drivers all over the city. Private jets waiting on standby.
350 requests from 20 contestants. -Yeah. -What request just came in?
-$1,000,000 cash. -It's a Super Bowl ring. -Post Malone.
. . -Jimbo!
He ain't gonna win. It's gonna be one of the most brutal, cutthroat episodes yet. He's like, locked in.
He's in war mode. So, he technically cheated, right?
