7 things I quit so that I can hear God with clarity and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit

these are the seven things that I quit so that I could hear God clearly so that I could grow my relationship with God and these things actually also work if you're really wanting to learn how to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit these seven things will completely help you did I quit the seven things at once no I believe the holy spirit will always take you in this journey once you you are born again and you start growing your relationship with God you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and he will always lead

you to Godliness to Holiness he will convict you of the things that you need to change in your life so that he can connect you with the father so that so that you can really hear the voice of your father he wants you to so these are the things that he little by little started showing me and leading me to do sometimes we need to substract things in our life and simplify Our Lives so that we can turn in with the holy spirit so that we can be in Stillness and hear God we live in

a society that's busy constantly and it's hard for people to slow down in their lives so this is actually about having creation replacing some of the habits that that may be taking you into this culture race that we have these days and slowing down so that you can hear God I believe that you can actually have braak through when you start implementing some of these things and really quit doing the things that are creating a barrier between you and God because you are the one allowing those things to bring anxiety depression in your life or

stressing you out and once you quit doing those things you're going to find so much peace you're going to find that you will hear God you will find that when you do the things that you know to do you will be able to hear God because some people start doing more and more of the things that they know to do to hear God but they don't stop doing the things that can be blocking God's voice in their life so let's talk about the things that I quit number one I quit investing too much time on

the things that do not add any value to my life and that was actually one of the first thing that the Holy Spirit told me to do he told me to go into scripture but he also leted me to quit so much much entertainment that I was allowing in my life now I was very young when he led me to do this and even though I didn't do this perfectly at the beginning the more that I was seeking God the more he wanted me to be careful with the things that I was watching meaning watching

TV watching news reading fiction I used to read a lot of fiction books I used to do a lot of things that were very entertaining to me now I'm not saying not to do them completely but the Holy Spirit leted me and to do them a lot less so I still watch the news I just watch them a lot less than I used to I still want to be informed I actually do not read any more fiction books if I'm going to read books which I do I love reading I read books that will edify

me so it's like changing your habits from things that are not edifying you to things that can edify you so I stop uh listening to the radio now I listen to podcast educational podcast or maybe I watch some YouTube videos that can edify me but you need to understand how important it is for you to quit external noise all those things that are putting in front of your eyes just because it's being in front of your eyes it means it needs your attention so being more picky with the things that you watch or hear because

it is okay to still watch some entertainment just make sure it's not an overwhelming amount of entertainment that is really keeping keeping you from hearing God when you're trying to hear from God number two quit hanging with the wrong kind of people there are toxic people out there they I'm sure you maybe have friends that are unbelievers and yes you want to present the gospel to them and that's great but you also need to limit the amount of time that you invest in relationships that are not helping you because they are relationships that can be

so toxic that can bring unbelief to your life you don't want to be in environments where there's a lot of Gossip you don't want to be in that group of friends that are constantly criticizing others that's something that you just don't want to spend your time doing those kind of relationships and environments can actually hinder you in your growth with God and you need to decide you need to decide what's more important to you your relationship with God or your relationship with these people and that one leads me to number three stop criticizing and judging

other people this is something that the Holy Spirit actually convicted me of when I was when I was a lot younger I used to criticize a lot and I used to be one of those people that will gossip a little bit the Holy Spirit really started convicting me of like I'm calling you to to bring Salvation to people I'm calling you to to heal people to deliver people to help people yet you are spending time um looking to the things that they're doing wrong and this is including even in your own church even when you're

in your church and you're criticizing okay children's ministry is not doing things right or this other Ministry is just doing a lot of things that they shouldn't do or look at this leader he's supposed to be doing this but he's doing this other thing and and you can you can get into this cycle of always magnifying what's wrong what's being done wrong and that can bring oh man that can bring so much Darkness to you because then you're judging people constantly when that's not what God wants for you he doesn't want you to be dwelling

on the things that other people are doing wrong and and let me actually add to this even criticizing yourself and this can set somebody free because when you start criticizing yourself too when you're like I'm never good enough I don't know that I K serve and I I better leave that leadership stuff to other people because I I just I'm always messing up and because you don't have a clear revelation of who you are in Christ Jesus you are constantly put putting yourself down and that's actually something that you need to quit doing and once

you stop doing that you will be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit he wants you to love and serve other people with the the the love that only come from Christ Jesus and we need to understand that Jesus was compassionate he loved on other people so I know that sometimes you expect leaders to do things right and they may do their own thing maybe they're not following the leading of the Holy Spirit or maybe they are I don't know but you're not there to point fingers you are there to love and and pray for them

pray that that they are able to hear what the Holy Spirit wants them to do so that they can do a better job just do that okay so just quit criticizing other people quit criticizing yourself that right there is a barrier that we can completely removed so that we can hear God better number five quit magnifying what's going wrong quit always talking about your problem there's so many people that are constantly talking about their problems sometimes I call friends and all they do is I have this problem and this other problem and and everything they

share is problems and they're thinking about their problem day and night and sometimes we go through things that we don't have fully comp complete control over them and those are things that we need to pray about and release them to God and do the things that we do have control over which is how am I going to react about this problem what what am I choosing to do about this problem what am I choosing to magnify am I going to magnify the problem and allow the problem to stress me and overwhelm my emotions or am

I going to completely shift my thinking magnify God magnify Jesus magnify that I do have the answer because the holy spirit will show me the answer that I do have the Comfort because the Holy Spirit can comfort me I do have the solution because I had the great I am living in me and he want us to be magnifying him and in doing that our our thinking is a lot more clear we are able to hear God's voice God's direction God's wisdom on the matter because our attention is on who has the answer instead of

on the problem so you don't want to be magnifying your problem and your situation or your sickness or your disease don't magnify those you come to God with it and I'm not saying that we completely ignore the situation that's not what I'm saying what I'm saying is we don't magnify it we make sure that we're spending more time thinking and magnifying the good because that's the other thing sometimes we are magnifying the wrong the things that we don't have the money that we don't have yet the promotion that we don't have yet the healing that

hasn't happened yet all the things that are not right instead of thinking of the things that you have been delivered from the things that God have provided in your life the health breakthroughs that you have had in your journey with God the the revelations the eternal life that we have instead of magnifying those Eternal promises that we have we're then spending too much time on the negative so you need to quit magnifying the wrong just by doing this you're going to be accessing the supernatural peace that God has for you and instead of being depressed

or anxious about your situation you know who you believe you know that he is for you and that he wants you in the other side and that he is the only one that can give you the strength to overcome whatever it is that's trying to steal your peace number five you need to quit overdoing the truth is the more that you do things and the more that you pack your schedule with things the more distracted you're going to be with things that may not be adding value to your life and even if they are you

need to have a good balance a few years ago I was so involved in church I couldn't say no to anything I was volunteering in church in every single area I was trying to do so much I actually teach a lot on on that that we need to be serving that we need to be doing something in the kingdom of God but when you overdo this when you start trying to do it all you're going to go into the cycle of being so busy that you don't have time quality time to spend with God to

spend with Jesus and I know that it could be hard when somebody from church comes to you and asks you can you do this for this activity that we had can you we have another event we need people to volunteer here and volunteer there serve but make sure that you serve and you still have that balance where sometimes you you just say no the same thing with the things of your secular world if you have a full-time job do not add in to your your schedule uh a lot of other things that can be fing

your day so much that then you're so exhausted you had no time to read the Bible or or pray or do anything that could nourish your life because if you're feeling way too tired because of all the responsibilities that you have and all the things that you're saying yes to and you can even think straight you need to really re-evaluate what are the things that I need to quit doing so that I have a good balanced life because I do believe that you need to slow down in your life ground yourself in the word of

God have a relationship with God that you are enjoying something that you look forward to relationship with God is not a short it's not something a checklist that we need to check okay I need to make sure I'm working on a relationship with God it's something that we need to be looking forward to we want to enjoy that and when we neglect that precious moments with God because of so many things and we are allowing our schedules to be so crazy that it it's going to hinder you and if you want to hear God and

you want to grow in your relationship with God you need to quit the things that are making you too busy and you need to find the right balance and you need to make sure that you slow down and you living so that you can hear the father that is trying to tell you something that is trying trying to comfort you and help you number seven quit pleasing people you don't live for people you live for God and the word of God is actually very clear on that and I know this could be a hard thing

but when we are pursuing godliness when we want to live a holy life when we have decided that we want to hear God that we rather have his wisdom than people's opinion many times that means you're going against the culture not many times all the time it means you're going to go against the culture and people will criticize the way that you live or the way that you communicate anyone that will speak the gospel will boldness will have haters especially if you want to grow as a leader in the church if you want to minister

to other people if you really want to make some kind of impact when you start discipling people you will have people that will hate you you will have people that will criticize you and you like I said earlier you don't live for people they had done nothing for you you live for God you do what he tells you to do you you do what he has created you to do and when you learn how to do that which is this is why I'm telling you all the things that you need to quit so that you

can really follow the leading of the holy spirit so that you can really step into the call that God has for you so that you can fulfill that amazing call so that you can fulfill your assignment God has created you and you have so much potential to achieve things for God that are Unthinkable he needs for you not to care for what people are going to say because they are not looking for your good only God is God has the answer to your problem God will lead you into doing things that people may not like

and that may mean you will lose friends when we start living to please people you're going to be limiting what God can do in your life number seven the ho is very convicted me once that I was constantly reasoning and overthinking things because of that I couldn't move forward on the things that God wanted me to do because I was over thinking too much so I couldn't hear more instructions so when you're trying to hear God and you want instructions from God he may be subtle sometimes the Holy Spirit may lead you to do something

but if you start overthinking you may allow your mind to go places you shouldn't go to You're are going to start doubting things and what if God is telling you to go pray for somebody and then you start thinking about is this God I don't know if what if that person finds it weird that I'm going to go approach this person to pray for him or her and and you start overthinking and because of that you start grieving the holy spirit because you're not following his leading because of that it's harder to hear God you're

reasoning too much when God called me to teach I started overthinking I I started thinking but I don't know how to speak well and I don't know how to do this and I had never taught in my life of course I needed to develop my teaching skills of course I needed to learn but I was thinking all the things that I didn't know how to do same thing when I started having the gift of discernment when I started flowing in the gift it was a a My Flesh it was a battle and I allow my

flesh to speak things to me and I will overthink things so I wouldn't do them and of course I repented of this and I believe many Believers go through this and you need to stop overthinking things you need to quit that you need to quit when you feel the Holy Spirit leading you to do something move and do it obey the holy spirit because the more that you overthink things the more doubts you're allowing you're not going to do what the holy spirit is telling you to do and that causes your griev in the Holy

Spirit I hope this is all making sense to you I'm trying to give you information things that I know I had done that worked in my life that helped me like I said at the beginning I didn't quit all the seven things at once it's a journey and it may be it may be different for you it may be things that you are doing maybe if you have some kind of addiction he may lead you into quitting those addictions he doesn't want you God doesn't want you to be a slave of anything he doesn't want

you to be feeding your flesh or allowing your flesh to dominate in your life he wants you to be walking in the spirit he wants you to to grow your relationship with God he wants you to quit the things that are between you and God and Jesus died for us so that we can have access to the throne of grace the grace of God is an amazing thing and he give us the grace to overcome these things it may be that you need to quit listening to your feelings and this is actually let's do that

as a plus God actually a long time ago I think he was 15 years years ago he led me into I want you to pay attention to me more than you pay attention to your feelings quit thinking that you need to validate your feelings all the time because although it is important that you realize how you're feeling so that you can deal with that feeling it's more important that you pay more attention to what the Holy Spirit wants to show you in that season that you are feeling whatever it is that you're feeling but it's

important that you know how to deal with your feelings that you take control over your feelings and you don't allow your feelings to dominate in your life but you because of the holy spirit in you you can overcome them you can know how to feel because feelings God gave us feelings and I know that sometimes can be hard to deal with them and I may do a separate video on this because this is very very this one of the questions that I get the most from people they struggle with anxiety or depression or negative emotions

and I I teach on that a lot because I believe you have the Holy Spirit in your life that can completely lead you into Freedom you don't need to live under your feelings you live and Reign Over them because of who you are in Christ Jesus and you magnify who you are and your identity with Christ is more important to you than how you may be feeling if this video has helped you somehow make sure you like subscribe if you're new I'm always creating cont content to edify people and check out my grow closer to
