Before we pray, let's first take a moment to listen to God's word and then we'll pray together. Some of us have been walking with Jesus for many years, through seasons of joy and seasons of sorrow, through moments of great faith and moments of painful doubt. Others are just beginning this journey.
Perhaps still learning what it means to trust God. Still discovering how deeply he loves and how he leads. But regardless of how long you've been on the path, one truth remains the same for all of us.
We are called to grow. Not just to believe in Jesus, but to become more like him. To mature in our faith, to bear fruit that reflects his love.
As children of God, we were not created to live stagnant, shallow lives. God didn't save us just to leave us the same. He places within us a longing to grow to grow stronger in our faith to develop Christlike character and to deepen our relationship with him day by day.
Christian is someone who reflects Christ in word and deed. Someone whose love is real, whose faith is active and whose heart beats for the things of God. But how do we know if our lives are truly bearing fruit?
Jesus answered this very question when he said in Matthew 7:16, "By their fruit, you will recognize them. " Fruit is the evidence. It's what shows up in our attitudes, our actions, and our relationships.
It's the overflow of what's happening in our hearts. A life surrendered to Jesus will begin to show signs of transformation, not perfection, but progress. And the Bible gives us clear guidance on what this looks like.
In 2 Corinthians 5:10, we are reminded that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. This verse isn't meant to scare us. It's meant to awaken us.
Our lives matter. What we do, how we love, how we serve, it all counts. Every act of obedience, every moment of faithfulness, every sacrifice made for God's glory will one day be acknowledged by Christ himself.
And even before we were born, God had a plan. Ephesians 2:10 tells us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good work, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. " You are not here by accident.
God created you with intention. You were created to make an impact, to carry light into dark places, to do good that points back to him. Titus 3:14 says, "Let our people learn to devote themselves to good works so as to help cases of urgent need and not be unfruitful.
" And Galatians 6:9 gives us hope in the hard moments. Let us not grow weary of doing good. For in due season we will reap if we do not give up.
Growth can be slow. Fruit can take time. Sometimes you're sewing seeds and seeing nothing.
But don't give up. Keep going. Keep planting.
Keep loving. Because God promises that every faithful step is leading somewhere beautiful. And here's the truth.
If your heart truly belongs to Jesus, it will begin to show. It won't be something you have to force. It will flow from the inside out.
You'll begin to notice changes in how you think, how you speak, and how you treat people. You'll become more patient in trials, more generous in spirit, more willing to forgive. Your values will shift.
You'll care more about pleasing God than impressing others. You'll find joy in things that once felt ordinary. You'll feel a growing burden for souls, a deeper compassion for the hurting, and an increasing desire to bring glory to God with your life.
These are not just signs of spiritual maturity. They are signs of a living, breathing relationship with Jesus. James 2:17 puts it plainly, "Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
" Faith is a lifestyle. It moves, it acts, it sacrifices. We don't do good works to earn God's love.
We do them because we already have it. Because grace changes us. Because when you've tasted God's mercy, you can't help but share it with the world.
As the Apostle John said in 1 John 4:1 19, "We love because he first loved us. " That love, his love, is the fuel for everything. It's what wakes you up with purpose and sends you into the world with compassion.
It's what makes you effective. Not your talent, not your knowledge, but your surrender. So keep showing up, keep loving well, keep seeking truth, keep doing the next right thing, and trust that as you walk with God, he is making you more and more into the image of his son.
That's what it means to live a life that matters. That's what it means to be effective in his kingdom. Not perfect, but faithful.
Not self-reliant, but spiritled. Not seeking applause, but living for his glory. And that is more than enough.
Now, let's take a moment to pray together. Dear heavenly father, thank you for saving me. Thank you for reaching down into the brokenness of this world and rescuing my soul.
Thank you for sending your only son, Jesus, to take my place, to bear my sins, and to carry the weight I could never carry on my own. Thank you for exchanging my guilt for your grace, my shame for your mercy, and my death for everlasting life. You saw me in darkness and didn't turn away.
Instead, you called me out of that place. You lifted me out of confusion, fear, and despair. And you brought me into the light of your love.
A love that never fails, never gives up, and never lets go. Because of you, I now walk in the freedom of forgiveness, in the peace of redemption, and in the hope of a future that is held in your hands. You have given me a new heart, a heart that longs to know you more, that beats with a desire to honor you and that is stirred by a hunger to serve you.
Lord, please help me to live a life that reflects the depth of your grace. Don't let me waste this precious gift you've given. Let my every breath be an offering, my every step a testimony, my every choice a reflection of your glory.
Jesus, I invite you into every room of my life. My thoughts, my desires, my plans, my fears, my relationships, my work, my rest, and even the places I tend to hide. Nothing is off limits to you.
Come and reign in every corner. Lead me in every decision and make my heart sensitive to your voice. Teach me how to be a blessing to others.
Not just when it's convenient, but even when it's hard. Use me for your purposes, no matter how big or small, whether seen by many or known only to you. You see me clearly, Lord.
Nothing is hidden from you. You know my strengths and my weaknesses. You know where I stumble.
You know the doubts that sometimes cloud my faith and the fears that quietly pull at my heart. But even in those fragile places, you love me. You never withdraw.
Instead, you come closer. You hold me. You remind me that I am yours.
So help me to trust you, not only when I understand, but especially when I don't. Let your Holy Spirit guide my actions, shape my motives, and influence every word that comes from my mouth. Let the fruit of your spirit grow richly in me.
As you said in John 15:5, "I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing.
Lord, I take those words to heart. I don't want to live disconnected from you. I don't want to chase dreams that leave me empty.
I want to remain in you. I want my roots to go deep into your truth. And I want the fruit of my life to be evidence of our connection.
Because without you, I am dry, brittle, and unfruitful. But with you, I can grow into all that you've created me to be. Though I may plant and water, it is you who brings the growth.
You are the gardener of my soul. And even though you don't need me, you still choose to use me. I'm so grateful that you've written me into your story.
You've given me a place in your kingdom, a role in your mission, and a calling that matters for eternity. Lord, I long for the day when I stand before you and hear you say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. So awaken me, Lord.
Wake me up from any spiritual slumber. Shake off any apathy or complacency. Don't let me coast through life.
Fill me with holy urgency. Fill me with your fire. Use me to reach the lost, to encourage the weary, to speak life into those who feel forgotten.
Make me a vessel of your mercy. Make me an instrument of your peace. Let forgiveness flow through me like living water, washing over those who are hurting and burdened by pain.
Shape me, Father. I surrender to your hands like clay to the potter. Break me if you must, but remake me for your glory.
Smooth out the rough places. Cut away the things that don't belong. Mold me into a servant who reflects the love and humility of Jesus.
Forgive me, Lord, for the moments I fall short. For the times I choose comfort over calling, fear over faith. But even in my failure, I know your grace runs deeper.
Wash me clean and give me wisdom to put you first in every area of my life. And when trials come, I will remember that you are refining me, not punishing me. Not to break me, but to reveal the treasure you've placed inside.
Help me to endure with hope, to trust with perseverance, and to walk through the valleys with confidence that you are beside me. Thank you for loving me at my weakest and drawing me closer with every step. Thank you for patiently teaching me even when I resist.
And thank you for giving me purpose beyond myself. I ask all this in the name above every name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
If this prayer has touched your heart, please type amen as a sign of faith. I pray that every blessing in this prayer is now upon you in the name of Jesus. And if you need a special prayer, feel free to let us know in the comments.
We would be honored to pray for you. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
