Poppy Playtime Chapter 3's Entire Plot Explained

this is the entire story that Chapter 3 of poppy play time has to offer going from the very beginning of the chapter all the way to the very end so you can know exactly what happened however this is the first installment of a three-part series as I'll be uploading a video explaining all of the tapes and documents shown in chapter 3 as well as speculating each and every event and what's to come for chapter 4 so with that being said let's look at the entire plot and story of poppy playtime chapter 3 in the ending

for chapter 2 poppy deemed that we are too perfect to lose and changes our Train's Direction at the last second poppy then states that she had much time to think and reflect and that together she and the player can set things right before she can finish however the sound of a digital alarm clock cuts her off leaving her audio to scramble and the train begins to accelerate at an alarming Pace the player then attempts to use the emergency stop but the train derails and crashes anyways in their vision Fades into the darkness afterwards but not

before they see a sign for play care and the chapter concludes but before getting into the gameplay of chapter 3 were presented an episode from a show known as The Smiling Critters released by playtime Co which include crafty corn picky Piggies hoppy hopscotches kicking chickens Bubba Bubba Fant bobby bear hugs the leader of the smiling Critters dog day and finally catnap but catnaps appearance wouldn't be for long as the episode we are shown includes The Smiling Critters struggling to sleep at dog day's house when they suddenly gets a knock at the door once the crew

realizes that is catnap they start begging for him to help them go to sleep to which catnap starts to discreet this Eerie Red Mist from his mouth causing The Smiling Critters to start laughing hysterically almost maniacally and then the screen cuts to everyone fast asleep with catnap awake right in the center the wind's really scary I can't sleep hey we'll be okay guys I promise all winds blow away eventually catnap please help us go to sleep catnap we need it catnap pleas help us please sleep [Applause] sleep following this the screen minimizes and we realize

that this is actually a new segment for the show with the reporter explaining the mystery clouding around it as one of the characters catnap was is rumored by parents to have its plushy give strange and violent nightmares to whoever he's being used by seems innocent enough however parents across the country report their children experiencing strange and often violent nightmares and beside them their little grinning catnap doll with the controversy swelling and getting too big to handle playtime code decides to recall any evidence of him ever existing removing any image of him from all marketing material

but we the player know that only one thing appears glaringly certain your children are not safe with catnap and now we get into chapter 3 itself beginning with catnap carrying and throwing us down a tunnel and we end up Landing in a trash compactor and after escaping we make our way through a series of Maintenance tunnels and parkour based obstacles but after navigating through all the obstacles we start to hear a phone ringing in the in the background and when we answer it a child is heard on the other end saying that we look lost

and he's willing to help us we learned later on that this voice over the phone is Ali but we still know very little about him anyway Ali drops down a battery for us to open the door that leads us out of the room and we end up finding the exact spot where the train crashed which is where catnap found us Ali then lets us know that he understands why we would be upset about poppy not letting us Escape but she along with the rest of the toys need us in order to be saved I know

you're probably mad at poppy for not letting you escape but she needs you we need you you are our mission together we can save a lot of people including you and after this Ali lets us know that play care is close by and that's the home of catnap who we know is one of the smiling Critters but instead of eight of them now it's just catnap after completing some puzzles to progress in the game we proceed to enter player through Elliot's Express and during this we listen to a speech made by Elliot lwig the founder

of playtime Co and he introduces his ideologies and thoughts during the creation of play care these children deserve to smile they deserve to love and they deserve a safe home that is why it is with enormous pleasure that as the founder of playtime Co I announce play care our very own onsite orphanage and upon leaving the cable car we get a call from Ali again and he gives the player a key to the gas production Zone which is used to power the building but also produces a gas called the red smoke and oi lets us

know that we need to stop the red smoke from going to the right tube and make it go to the left tube instead in order to reach catnap welcome to the gas production Zone the Beating Heart of the whole evil play care system all that gas you see coming from the machine is made right here in the factory it's called the red smoke right now it's all headed off to the right we need to make that red smoke go left instead that's how we can get to him and during this we're able to acquire the

grab pack 2.0 but after trying to divert the red smoke the power goes out and oi tasks the player with reactivating the power and use the location backup generators to power the gas production Zone to reach catnap but the backup generators are located inside of home sweet home the abandoned residence for all orphan children which Ali gives us a key for we then enter into home sweet home and inhale the red smoke that we were just transferring and this is when things start to take a weird turn going downstairs through the red smoke we make

our way through a bunch of hallways with the occasional light flickering and banging coming from nearby doors but as we're exploring we hear on a nearby Radio about a horrifying Discovery regarding playtime Co and one of their orphans tarnishing the reputation of Elliot's lwig tragic news this morning as of 9:45 a.m. local authorities report that the body of a young boy has been found on the estate of the late aliot budwig but before figuring out the details of what happens we get another phone call from Ali and one of the rooms telling us to run

and as we turn around to leave the room for a split second we can see catnap in the shadows watching us you need to run listening to the radio some more as we navigate through the hallways along with some suspicions behind Ludwig's Behavior it's revealed to us that the horrifying Discovery was an orphan found dead in a body bag with Key Bones and organs missing from his body we then find a room with tape in it and once we play it into a nearby cassette player we're greeted to what seems to be a normal introduction

video to the new employees but as the tape plays on it suddenly takes a dark turn with the screen switching from a regular looking Huggy wuggy to A demented and night's marish one and with the tape speaking directly to us a former employee of playtime Co and at the end of the guy's speech the demented Huggy wuggy pushes itself out of the TV and into our world and once he inevitably catches us we wake up from the nightmare still inside of huet home as if nothing ever happened but we do manage to find a gas

mask to help with the red smoke soon after this now moving through home sweet home a bit more breaking through walls and completing some more puzzles we see that catnap is inside of Home Sweet Home with us as he walks right by us behind a bunch of furniture and boxes but after activating the power inside home sweet home kissy Missy pounces on us and looks like she's about to kill us until she stopped by poppy saying that we did nothing wrong and that we're here to help them no no let go they didn't do anything

wrong we're actually here to help and after letting us know that Ali is the reason that they were able to find us poppy then explains that the player needs to get rid of the monsters who tortured them and says that the Prototype will kill us if we try to escape and we need to kill him first and after departing we get a call from Ali telling us that we have to go in the school in order to restore power to it reassuring us that catnap doesn't usually wander there your best bet is probably the school

catnap usually leaves that place alone send you the key now but we soon find out that something even worse lurks in the shadows upon entering the school we are informed by Ali that he won't be able to communicate with us due to the location and just before the audio cuts out he tries to tell us that we are not alone and whoever's in here with us is not our friend be careful in there I don't think I can connect to you on that side of the Dome and you won't be alone there's someone else in

there too you're not your and as we're wandering through the halls of the school we begin to hear a voice on the intercom which we learn is miss the light but she seems to be talking as if there are students still inside of the school this is M Delight speaking please excuse the interruption students remain in your seat until the Bell has rung and no going in the Halls without a hle pass however after navigating through the school a bit more the intercom comes on again and is missed the light claiming that she recog izes

us saying that we used to work here and she questions how we're still alive wait I recognize you yes I remember you used to work here how are you alive but then we hear Miss Delight supposedly talking to someone else in the background named Barb but later we find out that this isn't a person at all and it's actually just a m that she uses as her weapon M Delight then warns us that we shouldn't be here looking for our co-workers and catnap wouldn't be too pleased of that hm Barb oh Barb says you're looking

for your co-workers catnap wouldn't like that you're here you should leave for your own safety but after venturing through the school a bit more M theight grows increasingly agitated at the fact that we are still wandering around and hence at the fact that she'll be around to dispose of us herself not a good listener are you you're a lot like the other humans in that way I wonder if your screams will sound like theirs too I look forward to finding out and later when the player powers on the generator the door bursts open and M

light walks into the room breaks the generator with her weapon sending the battery flying across the room and with the generator now destroyed the Halls are back to having no lights on and missst the light proceeds to chase the player but after completing some on the fly puzzles while avoiding melight the whole time we approach a gate at the end of some hallway and after entering through the gate and closing it behind us with a lever M Delight is seen still chasing us but the gate ends up crushing M theight killing her instantly after this

while trying to escape we managed to find a new grab pack glove extension and after navigating through some caves and completing more puzzles and spotting catnap praying to this weird amalgamation of toys the player finds themselves deep within the play school it's actually called Playhouse IGN what I just said which is Infested by miniature versions of The Smiling Critters who constantly chase the player utilizing the flare glove the player must fend off against the many smiling Critters while trying to activate the backup generator to the playhouse and after successfully doing so we discover a bigger

version of dog day chained up in a jail cell with his legs completely missing and a belt tied tightly around his waist likely so his organs won't fall out but it turns out that dog day isn't evil and after recognizing us as Poppy's angel he explains to us that he's the last of the smiling Critters and the condition he's in is due to him not believing in the prototype's beliefs as catnap the Min smiling Critters and likely some other toys are following his every command but dog day also explains to us that the only reason

the smiling Critters are under catnap in the Prototype is because they are afraid that they'll be killed and fed to another toy otherwise you're papy's Angel come to save us nothing left to save nothing here Lord cat's home Angel their home a million pairs of eyes are on you now watching waiting hungry they want nothing more than to quath your skin and eat away at you bit by little bit feel what feels empty inside themselves that thing can't be the Prototype is his God and this is what he does to Heretics these little toys all

catnapped to avoid that very fate and in return they are fat we try to fighted the prototypes control I am the last of the spiling critters shortly before his monologue ends however the many smiling Critters all begin to appear through every corner of the jail cell and infest dog day before hijacking his body and chasing the player through it oh no no leave me please just go run and after escaping dog day through a jump pad in an elevator we make our way back to play care and Oli starts to give us a rundown of

what happened to catnap hey did you see the shrine catnap made it for the the Prototype see before catnap turned into catnap I guess there was some pretty serious accident he almost died but they say that the Prototype saved his life giving up his own freedom in the process in catnap size the Prototype is a superhero and has saved this place so catnap treats him like a god killing everyone that opposes him after this Ali gives us a key to the counselor's office to get another generator going and after navigating through it for a bit

we soon notied that we are not the only thing in here as if you look through one of the holes in the wall you can see catnap quickly scurrying to another room however we climb ourselves into a vent and venture out into another cave under play care and after doing a long array of puzzles and some Parkour we finally make it to where the offices are and after completing even more puzzles we start to get really close to the generator but the location we're in requires our gas mask because of the red smoke which can

only mean one thing as we're nearing the end of Ali's task after walking into one of the offices catnap lunges from the red smoke and attacks us causing us to be knocked into some weird red smoke based dream state where poppy asked the player a bunch of rhetorical questions while we flip through a bunch of scenes with silhouettes of the children who used to be alive in play care and at the end of the dream all we hear is the alarm of the building and the screams of the employees with us just barely being able

to see the prototype's hand reaching towards us upon waking up from this dream still inside the counselor's office catnap warns us to leave play care or he'll come for us leave play care or I'm coming for you but after leaving we see that all of play care is back to having no power and it's pitch black so Ali instructs us to grab the cord from the counselor's office and plug it in underneath the statue and after doing so Ali gives us a huge battery to plug into the gas production zone so we can have enough

power to leave player through the cable car and end things once and for all but right before plugging the battery in catnap emerges from a small door right beside us and begins to chase us into an elevator completely filling the area with his red smoke and as we're going up in the elevator we can see that catnap has this ghastly white slender skeletal in very freakishly looking appearance which is likely due to the hallucinogenic properties of the red smoke but after escaping this freakish version of catnap we enter the safe room and we have to

fend off catnap for five whole minutes as he constantly toys with us through his hallucinations appearing in different parts of the safe room and after we reach around 5 minutes a green grab pack hand receiver overcharges and the player takes this opportunity to shoot the green hand at catnap causing him to get electrocuted and engulfed in flames while catnap does not die from this the Prototype suddenly comes down through the trap door in the ceiling and looks to be offering to assist catnap but as catnap gets up to acknowledge his presence and accept his offer

the Prototype plunges his hand right through catnaps mouth killing him instantly and he pulls him up into the ceiling with him and after this we leave through the elevator divert the red smoke over to the left tube and meet up with poppy who praises us for all that we've done and since we've done so much poppy believes that we deserve to know the truth of what happened to playtime Co and why everything went horribly wrong so she introduces a tape to us to which they called the hour of Joy oh good you're here and you've

done it again The Impossible just like I knew you would catnaps gone the red smoke is diverted everything is falling into place thanks to you what if we to keep going then then you deserve to have the truth you came back because of your co-workers you want to know what happened and why this this is your answer and when she plays it on the TV for us we can see every single staff member being brutally murdered by the toys completely massacred and it seemed like this went on for so long poy confirms for us so

agonizingly long remember hearing every moment of it it went on so long so agonizingly long they try to hide to run anything to stay alive I remember their cries what's going on why is this happening what are those things senseless Slaughter that's all it really was after having everything revealed to us kissy Missy comes through one of the doors and takes poppy over to the elevator in the middle of the room and Poppy instructs kissy Missy to wait at the top and we'll send the lift back up to her to bring her down as well
