Many people are suffering from atopic eczema for a long time. Atopic eczema is usually difficult to cure. You can't get rid of it even by taking medication.
People often say this, but there is a powerful combination of nutrients that can help. If you utilize this nutrient combination, you can almost overcome atopic eczema. Let me share with you the key nutrients that can help you overcome atopic eczema.
Yak Story Hello, everyone. This is Pharmacist Ko from Yak Story. As always, let's start off with a cheer.
Fighting! So in today's video, I'm going to talk about some of the effective supplements for atopic eczema. The kind that goes like, if you take this supplement, you'll get rid of your atopic eczema.
If you take this one, you can be assured that you're going to recover from atopic eczema pretty sooner than you think. The treatments that we use in the hospital are a combination of antihistamines and steroids that artificially reduce the inflammation. However, in severe cases, doctors would even prescribe immunosuppressants to their patients, which can have downside impact to their health because of a lot of side effects.
On the other hand, with these supplements that I'll mention, you can control your atopic eczema in a fairly safe and healthy way and without side effects. I think one of the diseases that pharmacists who have studied nutritional therapy a lot are most confident of in terms of improvement or of helping overcome immune system diseases is atopic eczema. I also have an experience of improvement that's related to this kind of eczema.
To know why you should take these supplements for atopic eczema, you first need to know a little bit about what causes it. Atopic eczema is a really complicated disease and there hasn't been a study yet that clearly confirms as to what actually causes it. But the simplest way to understand it is that your body's immune system goes into overdrive and the immune response happens in your skin.
So the skin becomes inflamed, it becomes itchy, it becomes thick, and it also becomes scaly, and when these symptoms happen, it could be atopic eczema. I'm going to keep this short because you probably know the common source of atopic eczema, which is this overactive immune system. There's family history, there's genetic predisposition, and then there's the immune environment, like the immune system in guts and skin, and then there's the immune system that's broken, in general.
Or it could simply be an allergen from the surroundings, like mites, animal hair, dust, or any small particle, or it could also be a constitutional issue where your skin is too sensitive, or where your skin barrier is weak, and it reacts easily to certain external stimuli. These are the most common known causes. The cause that I'm focusing on a little bit is chronic inflammation.
Toxins from the outside, depending on your environment, can cause elevated levels of microinflammation in your body. So, chronic inflammation plus your immune system being in a hyperactive state, can also cause atopic eczema. And then the repetition of things like stress, which is what causes stress-induced adult atopic eczema, then adrenal fatigue, and then adrenal depletion, which causes the adrenal glands to become more inflammatory.
These are the common causes of atopic eczema, but most of the cause is still family history. Anyway, the idea is that autoimmunity and the response of an overactive immune system results in dermatitis like atopic eczema. So how do you go about with your atopic eczema supplement?
Firstly, you have to have a core value, a goal. If you approach it with this concept of what's going to reduce the inflammatory response in the skin, what's going to reduce the overactive immune system, or what's going to strengthen the skin, then you can in fact improve your case of atopic eczema. If I had to choose one supplement that's the most important in this case, it's omega-3s.
I know I've said it over and over again but omega-3s are important, because these supplements are a powerful weapon against atopic eczema and other autoimmune diseases. Not only are omega-3s a component of cell membranes and protectors of those barriers, but they also have the ability to reduce inflammation, which, in turn, can help calm an overactive immune system. In other words, these omega-3s are pretty powerful when it comes to improving atopic eczema.
It's important to note that you need to take high doses of good omega-3s. When we talk about omega-3s for adults, we're talking about EPA & DHA combined, and you should be getting at least three-thousand milligrams per day. Given that a typical good omega-3 is 1000 milligrams of EPA & DHA per pill, you'd need to take three or more.
If you take this high dose consistently for six months or more, and if you don't have any side effects, your atopic eczema will improve considerably. And at higher doses, say, up to 6000 milligrams, is still pretty common. So you'd need to take up to six pills, and if you find it too hard to do so, you can take omega-3s in syrup form instead.
"I'm taking omega 3s, but I don't know if it's helping my skin at all. " If you're taking small amounts of the wrong omega-3s, one or two pills won't make a difference because you're taking less than 1000 milligrams, which is not enough for you to be well. Of course, there are many cases where 1000 milligrams is enough to make a difference.
Atopic eczema symptoms improve when you actively take omega-3s. And then, there's something called gamma-linolenic acid, or GLA, which is a good plus to take with omega-3. It's actually type of omega-6, which inhibits arachidonic acid in the body, which is very effective in reducing inflammation and itching in the skin.
So taking omega-6s together with omega-3s can have better and more desirable results. I always recommend the international products that I've been discussing, such as the S Brand Triple Strength Omega-3s. Take three pills of this brand every day, every after meal.
And as a plus alpha, you can also take GLA. Moreoever, you also take evening primrose seed oil, which has 1300 milligrams of evening primrose seed oil and 120 milligrams of gamma-linolenic acid in two tablets. So you should take both pills.
You should take them during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One omega-3 and one GLA in the morning, one omega-3 after lunch, and one omega-3 and one GLA after dinner. If you do this after every meal, you'll notice a significant improvement in your atopic eczema.
If you don't experience any side effect, you should do this for at least four weeks, and if it works for you, up to six months. Now, you may be curious, what are the criteria for a good recovery? Here are my answers.
Progressive relief from itching and improving skin conditions. There's keratinization in the folds, so you're scratching it a lot, so it's deforming the skin. And it's getting more and more fleshy over time.
You can see that reaction after at least two to four weeks of taking them. Therefore, you should think of it as a good response and stick with it for at least six months. Yak Story Okay, so what are some of the other supplements that you can take with these omega-3s and gamma-linolenic acid that are good for your immune system?
The second combination is vitamin D, and the third is actually probiotics. I named the combination that's good for inflammation and the immune system, O-D-Pro. It's short for omega-3s, vitamin D, probiotics.
It's a combination that has quite a bit of clinical data, especially for atopic eczema, so there's science behind it. And it's a combination that you can take with a lot of confidence, because it has a very few side effects. For example, you need to take at least 4000 units of vitamin D a day, and if you have severe atopic eczema, at least, six months, and vitamin D has the ability to lower the TH2, T helper 2 cells, in our immune system, and it also has the ability to raise the TH1 cells, which helps to control an overactive immune system.
So it's important to make sure that you're getting enough vitamin D for immune purposes. As you know, there is the gut environment, the immune axis of the gut. And it's where a lot of the immune system cells are concentrated, so if you have a really bad gut and it's full of toxins, you're going to have problems with an overactive immune system.
And then of course, this atopic eczema can get worse. If you can control the gut, you can control the immune system. So I recommend taking a probiotic that's really good for the gut.
You can just look at the vitamin D dose. You need to wisely choose your probiotics brand. For example, there's the V Brand, which is proven to be a good brand.
Among lactic acid bacteria, there's a probiotic that has been proven to be good and it's called lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. It has a lot of clinical data related to atopic eczema. that even with a brand that contains only this probiotic, if you take them together, you can see a significant effect on atopic eczema.
Let me now introduce the name of the brand that was made overseas. The brand is called L Brands Digestive Support Probiotics, 20 billion. It has twenty 20 billion lactobacillus rhamnosus GG inside it, and it's also a really good brand.
And then there's an atopic eczema supplement that you can take with those three I mentioned earlier. But then, you might ask, "You said I can only take one, why are you adding a lot more? " There are some people who can only take one, and this depends on the person, and there are people who have severe symptoms or have it for a long time, or have a family history of it, and one doesn't work well.
So in that case, you're going to have to add a bunch of different things to find what works best for you, because that is what will control your atopic eczema. The fourth combination of supplements that we can use all together for atopic eczema is a plant-based beta-sitosterol. Beta-sitosterol, which has a lot of good clinical data, has an element called Moducare.
We have two brands that have this. T Brand's Moducare, and we also have E Brand's moducare. They're the same, anyway.
Moducare works with the antigens in your body to raise the TH1 cells, which is the first one I mentioned earlier, and are also known as the T helper cells, and it also lowers the TH2 cells in your body. As a result, it balances your body's immune system, and it also works to control different autoimmune diseases by lowering the TH17 cells, and then otherwise increasing the T regulatory cells. Usually when we talk about nutritional therapy, we talk about the importance of balancing TH1 cells, TH2 cells, TH17 cells, and T regulatory cells, and one of the things that helps balance that is beta-sitosterol called Moducare, which is a plant-based sterol.
This plant-based sterol, when consumed consistently, can balance the immune system. It also shows some anti-cancer activity. Because of that, there are many people who regularly purchase Moducare as an anti-cancer supplement for their beloved dogs.
In the case of this multicare, you can take one to two tablets three times a day on an empty stomach, and it would be good to start with a low dose and work your way up to a high dose. And then, the last supplement that you might want to combine a little bit is called Pycnogenol, which is derived from pine bark, as well as vitamin C. These are good supplements to take together because they've been shown to have anti-inflammatory and immune system modulating properties.
You can do a combination like this, but it doesn't mean you have to take them all at the start. Just take omega-3s and gamma-linolenic acid together, and you also take some vitamin D and probiotics for maintenance, that's a pretty powerful combination for dermatitis like atopic eczema. The most important thing here is the omega-3 and gamma-linolenic acid doses, so make sure to remember that.
When you're taking omega-3s, you don't want to take a high dose at once, like three pills a day or six pills a day, because you're going to experience some side effects from doing so. It's important to gradually build up your dosage. And the most important thing is to maintain good habits to improve atopic eczema.
Dusting, ventilating, and seeing an allergy specialist to cut off the source of the allergy. It's really important to do those things for your well-being. And then in terms of foods that are pro-inflammatory, carbohydrates, and sugary foods, obviously, should be controlled and weight control is really important as well.
If you have a lot of fat cells, well, they secrete inflammation. So controlling your weight and reducing the amount of fat is very helpful in treating atopic eczema, and of course, it's very important to keep your body healthy by quitting alcohol, quitting smoking, and doing aerobic exercise. Changing the physical properties of your body through supplements, maintaining it, and taking these for a long time can be pressuring on you, so you definitely need a lifestyle change, or to modify it.
I bet you might ask this question as well. Atopic eczema is pretty common in children. And as we grow up, our immune system generally gets weaker, so atopic eczema improves as we age.
I think there's a lot of questions like, "How do you give these supplements to kids? " Well, it's the same for kids. Eventually, you're going to have to up the dosage of the omega-3s, based on average dosage of kids.
The dosage depends on their age, so it's still important to talk to your local pharmacist about it. To add up, it's really important to give vitamin D and good probiotics to your child. Give them a combination of omega-3s, vitamin D, and probiotics.
It's also a must to control your child's diet. No sweets, no bread, no ramen, no pizza, you shouldn't give them these foods habitually and often. Okay, so today we've talked about nutritional therapy and supplement combinations that can be applied to atopic eczema.
I'm going to wrap it up with one more thing, though. It's a must that you get medical treatment from a doctor. I'm not belittling any medical treatment or diagnosis at all, I'm just saying that using supplements as an alternative can also help patients dramatically.
So rather than taking steroids or immunosuppressants for a long time and increasing the side effects, it can be helpful to try other methods. Again, these are just my suggestions and my opinion. If you found this video informative, please give us a like and subscribe to our page.
