you lost me a little bit with your support of camp but let me let me tell you this support of me that's some misinformation I you cannot like me but don't lie on me I saw someone I really respect a black woman who's a commentator so you don't support him you like his policy some specific ones beyond that he's the governor of my state so I have to be involved with him because I can't divorce myself but let me say this if you criticize someone don't lie Sunny hoston tried hard to steer the conversation off
course but what happened next well it's one for the history books an unforgettable mic drop moment in daytime television she pulled out all the stops twisting words dragging in irrelevant controversies and doing everything she could to stir the pot but Killer Mike he wasn't having any of it with unwavering composure dignity and hard-hitting facts he shut her down in a way that left her speechless trust me you'll want to see this one the segment began like any other on The View Sunny was armed with her pointed questions the audience sat in anticipation and the panel
wore their best Smiles but things quickly took a sharp turn when Killer Mike started discussing the power of local elections he explained how local leadership directly impacts communities far more than the grand theatrics of Washington politics simple yet profound and before he could dive deeper Sunny jumped in already ready to shift the focus of course Sunny couldn't let him finish without making it all about her right in the middle of his thoughtful response she jumped in with her signature line as a former prosecutor her way of signaling that she was about to make this conversation
well about her then came the dramatic pause followed by the curveball she dredged up an incident from killer Mike's past completely unrelated to the topic at hand Killer Mike didn't Flinch he answered coolly saying you can dislike me but don't lie on me Boom the audience they erupted in Applause Sunny's smirk faded as she realized her usual tactics weren't going to work this time you know um I'm a former prosecutor yeah and there were some other headlines that came out and I was very upset about it yeah because it was unnecessary and you don't do
that on that special night yeah especially for what I read about so what I'm going to ask you is um there was an incident at the Grammys it led to being taken out in handcuffs and arrested that was wrong obviously it's an ongoing legal matter so I don't know how much you can say about it as a prosecutor you know I can't say it you can't say much but can you just give us some sort of description because people are say they're talking too much I think the backstage was overcrowded I think the winners were
exuberant and I think security got a little overzealous and that's all it's all you know it's water under bridge for me I'd like to say all of My Heroes Have Been In Handcuffs Malcolm Martin Mandela Mega you know I don't I don't I I I I I walked out with the same dignity and respect that I walked in with but Sunny wasn't done yet she switched gears and tried again this time attacking his comments about President Biden accusing him of being too critical and withholding his endorsement what's your hold up she demanded trying to Corner
him with that condescending tone she's known for but Killer Mike ever the composed speaker didn't take the bait his resp response simple logical and entirely on point my priority is local leadership I'm focused on my community my city and that's where my attention lies I would just I would implore people to just take that from it don't don't dwell on the bad stuff and the next morning um I spent three hours kind of by myself you know you're waiting um and the police say oh my God we've never gotten this many phone calls people w't
have to go to protest we going have to move you they're panicked and I'm just kind of sitting there and I begin to invoke thanks I thank God for bring me where I was I thank God for putting me in a space Believe It or Not by myself I got out that night I I walked out to my wife in the rain it was like a romance movie it was dope you got some attention recently for being somewhat critical of President Biden saying you weren't ready to endorse him yet what's your hold up there what's
my hold up well first of all I think everyone should focus on hyper local we we get caught up in the soap opera of federal elections and that's fine but if you are concerned with the federal election you don't know who your city council or your wsman you don't know who your mayor is and you're not have you don't have a good list of state representatives or Governor then you're just a part of whoever wins the Super Bowl or Fan Fair so my most important election is going to be in about a year and a
half for who's my mayor going to be I think that Andre Dickens is doing a great job around housing in Atlanta and I don't want that to be lost even though we have a republican Governor Brian km I have a good relationship with him I like what he's done in terms of Georgia business we've been leading business amongst all states for the last 10 years and he brought back the Hope Scholarship and expanded it so if you're a kid and Georgia you're poor you got to be average you can go to college for free or
trade school in terms of nationally I'm just kind of doing what my grandfather said staying out of white folks business and watching what happens you know I'm going to see what happens if there's a candidate that pops up around September October that needs a push that's really in policy why is it good for us going to jump up but for right now I just don't want to be involved in the soap poer because I'm much too concerned about what's going on in Atlanta on a hyper local level Sunny's frustration was palpable she started cutting him
off mid-sentence twisting his words desperately trying to get him to slip up it was almost painful to watch but Killer Mike stayed cool criticize me all you want he said but don't twist my words that's misinformation cue the Applause at this point it was clear Killer Mike wasn't just holding his ground he was schooling her in how to engage in a meaningful conversation you lost me a little bit with your support of camp but let me let me tell you this support I mean that's some misinformation I you cannot like me but don't lie on
me I saw someone I really respect the black woman who's a commentator so you don't support him you like his policy specific on named Beyond it he's the governor of my state so I have to be involved with him because I can't divorce myself but let me say this if you criticize someone don't lie don't say I didn't support Abrams because I did don't say that I didn't don't support Democrats because I've helped get three Democratic Mayors elected I've helped get two state representatives elected but if someone is in the king's seat I'm not going
to not have dinner with the King on the behalf of my people I have to do that just point some of Biden's achievements out for the black community wealth is up by black wealth is up by 60% relative to pre pandemic the largest increase on record has helped 8 million renters and their families stay in their home over 40% of whom were black and the largest effects in a majority black neighborhoods like yours delivered investment of over 7 billion to support HBCU put 1 billion into Head Start whoop he's going to like that a program
where more than 28% of children and pregnant women who benefit um uh and identify as black so those are Biden's accomplishments what made this exchange so powerful wasn't just his ability to handle Sunny's interruptions it was his ability to elevate the conversation he pushed it back to the bigger picture speaking about the need for honesty and respect in political discourse calling out the unproductive nature of twisting someone's words or dredging up irrelevant pasts and just when you thought Sunny might finally back off she made one last attempt to redirect the conversation but Killer Mike wasn't
having it this wasn't just another moment where Sunny tried to dominate the discussion with her prosecutorial tone and constant interruptions no this time it backfired spectacularly instead of putting her guest on the defensive she exposed herself and her inability to foster a respectful meaningful dialogue it was a bad look for sunny but a great reminder for all of us listening matters it's moments like these that highlight Why shows like the view often face criticism for their lack of balanced thoughtful discussions instead of facilitating genuine conversations it seems like the hosts often prefer drama and pushing
their own agendas but hey that's just my take what do you think did Sunny cross the line or was she just doing her job let me know your thoughts in the comments below it's moments like these that make you rethink the nature of real conversation in the public sphere
