so basics of networking so first one is IP address so everybody is aware what is IP address so I'm not going to discuss so in IP address also we have two things one is public IP and private IP private IP it is used within your corporate environment and it is not routable it is not routable means you cannot access the private IP from the internet okay okay so another one is public IP address that is routable over the Internet it means let's say if you assign a public IP address to your virtual machine or your PC that you can access it over the Internet so that is the main difference and then we have a subnet subnet is it is a logical subdivision of an IP network the practice of dividing a network into two or more Network called subnetting subnetting is nothing but for example let's say you you have a iPad range okay so for example if I take 10. 125 Dot 0. 0 slash 22 okay slash 22 uh it may give you uh some IP address somewhere around 1000 I believe okay so 1000 IP address you can get if you use slash 22 okay now let's say if you wanted to you have three environment you have production you have non prod and you have test and development okay now you want to to have a separate Network IP address for Network or production on product testing development what you can do you can divide this into smaller things for example let's say for a production you can do 10 125 Dot 1.
0 24. so this will provide you 250 five IP address so that you can use it for the production then for the non-prod you can use 10. 125 Dot 2.
0 24. okay then for the test and development you can use 10. 125.
