That was uh that was um oh god the reminders of those we have lost are everywhere. You just have to keep your eyes open and look around. As long as you truly believe their presence is still with you, no one is ever really gone.
Barley Rose, I feel your presence in so many things and I know you are still with me. [Applause] Heat up [Music] [Applause] All of the time that we took for granted. Thinking the miles just another day.
Sun on your face with the windows open. I never got the chance to say. [Music] [Applause] I know your wings are getting heavy.
You can let go when you're ready to fly. fly. I know I'm between heaven and the sky.
[Music] I'll try. I'm going to try to find the good after goodbye. Butterfly, [Music] you come down to visit your favorite flower.
Catching the wind in the light of day. Keep sending me bittersweet reminders. Signs will never be.
You know I will always need you. I feel better when I see you fly. Fly.
I'm going to try to find the good after the butterfly. [Music] Butterfly fly till next time. Fly fly.
I know between heaven and the sky. Butterfly. Butterfly.
I can fly till next time. [Applause] Sky elements Simon. Wow, that was uh that was um Oh gosh, Sophia.
I mean, who knew that drones could make you so emotional? That was a surprise. That was so beautiful.
That was like heartfelt and I mean I don't even know what to say. Congratulations. What a beautiful, beautiful job.
Thank you so much. How are we? You know, uh it is emotional.
It was absolutely beautiful and I wonder if it's a sign that this show is airing on 9/11 when so many people have children and family members lost. We lost so much in America. And what a great 9/11 tribute.
What a most emotional, beautiful moment. I can't thank you enough for this. Hello.
Hello. How are you? I'm good.
How are you? I'm all right, thank you. Are you the last audition tonight?
I am the last one today. Okay. Been a long day, right?
It has been a long day, but I'm ready. You know, but this, if you ever watched Xactor before, often goes, it's the end of a long day. And our last contestant is silently waiting in the wings.
Yeah. And you know what happens then? Yeah.
It either goes very good or very bad. Yeah. One of the two.
So tell me about you. Um so I'm 21. I'm from Billingham and T-side.
Yeah. Um I'm a car mechanic. Yeah.
And then obviously I sing a little bit as well. And you live on your own? Uh I live with my mom.
Okay. Just me and my mom. Cool.
Oh, I love it. You say mom like me. Yeah.
She's my rock. And what are you going to sing? I'm going to sing Jealous by Labyrinth.
And tell me why you've chosen that song. Um, it means a lot to me for a different reason, I think, to how Labyrinth wrote it, which is, um, um, I lost my best friend a couple of years ago. Um, and I kind of interpret the lyrics in a completely different way.
I lost my best friend two years ago. Um, he was only 18 at the time. Um, and we were really, really close.
We did everything together. We got a call saying we had to go to the hospital cuz he wasn't going to last the day. And I know that it's was tough on Josh.
Sorry. The lyrics kind of say, "I'm jealous that you're happy without me. " Um, and I kind of see it in the sense that I'm jealous that he's now happy in heaven, that he's moved on to a better place and that I can't still be with him.
[Music] Well, best of luck, Josh. Thank you, son. Come on.
I'm jealous of the rain. It falls upon my skin. It's closer than my hands have been.
Oh, I'm jealous of the rain. Cuz I wish you the best of what this world could give. And I told you when you left me there's nothing to forive.
But I always thought you come back. Tell me all you found was heartbreak and misery. It's hard for me to say I'm jealous of the way you're happy without me.
I wish to the best of this world could give. And I told you when you left me, there's nothing to forive. But I always thought you come back.
Tell me all you found. Heartbreak and misery. It's hard for me to say I'm jealous of the way you're happy without me.
And it's hard for me to say I'm jealous of the way you're happy without. You're happy without me. Woo!
That was amazing. [Applause] Um, [Music] do you know what, Josh? Honestly, wow.
[Music] I was [Music] that was the most captivated I've been in all the auditions so far. Thank you. Excuse me.
I'm sorry. I'm very emotional and you really touched me. I believed every word you sang.
Um, I kind of want to hug you. I'll have a hug. Alex has a hug.
[Applause] [Music] [Applause] Sorry. That's right. Nice.
Well done. Thank you. Appreciate it, Nicholas.
Josh, that really got me right in the heart. I was completely transfixed. Like I I didn't want it to end.
Thank you. Wow. Thank you so much.
Josh, I'm going to kick this off with a very emotional yes. Also, you're getting a yes from me, Josh. Thank you.
It was awesome. Thanks a lot. He has three S's.
[Applause] Thank you, Manchester, for your time. I appreciate it. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh, my boy.
My boy. [Applause] Hope you did him proud. He did do him proud, son.
He did. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] cause a few in there. They're smiling.
Gosh, you brought a lot of people with you. Tell me your names, please. Um, so I'm Ravi and this is my sister, M.
And this is my mom and dad. Very, very nice to meet you and how old are you? Um, so I'm 8 years old.
Okay. What made you decide to do this? I've watched BDT all my life and always wanted to audition for it.
And two years ago, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. And I'm here to show no matter what life throws at you, you can still achieve your dreams. Good for you.
And how are you right now? Um, so my brain tumor is stable, but I'm still living with with the day-to-day effects. So you've had a really tough time, haven't you?
Yeah. Tell me about all these people behind you. So to support me, I bought a group of my friends and teachers from school, my family.
Yeah. some medical professionals who have helped me during my diagnosis. Yeah.
Some other amazing children from the brain tumor community. Oh god. Oh my god.
And what are you going to be doing for us today? Um so today we're doing a choir performance of a million dreams. Oh my god.
Okay. Take your time. Whenever you're ready, we're ready.
[Music] I close my eyes and I can see a world that's waiting up for me that I call my own. [Music] [Applause] They can say it all sounds crazy. [Music] They can say they can say [Music] crazy.
We can live in a world that we desire. [Music] Heat. Heat.
[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] A million dreams for the world we're going to make. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat.
[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Every night I the brightest colors fill my head [Music] away. [Music] [Music] A million dreams for the world we got to make. [Applause] Where are someone?
[Music] I found Heat. Heat. [Music] Yeah.
Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat.
[Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Abby, I think you're a very talented, very brave, very special person.
I'm so happy that you've had this moment because you deserve it. All of you, by the way. That's what I call magic.
Um, and that's why we have the golden buzzer for people like you. You so deserve it. [Music] [Applause] Um, well, you know, the golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it when it feels right.
And you're such a remarkable young man. You're a hero. You really are.
The moment you started talking, you just had me. Yeah. And um just I just loved it.
So well done to you. Thank you for [Applause] Um, but first, as I'm sure you know, every year on the X Factor, we release a single to raise money for our charities, Together for Short Lives, and Shooting Star Children's Hospices. This year is no exception.
So, earlier this week, our celebrities got together and recorded their version of Snow Patrols Run. Take a look. I'll sing it one last time for you.
Then we really have to go. You've been the only thing that's right [Music] in all I've done. And I can barely look at you.
But every single time I do, I know we'll make it anywhere away from here. [Music] Light up, light up. As if you have a choice.
Even if you cannot hear my voice, I'll be right beside you, dear. [Music] To think I might not see those eyes makes it so hard not to cry. [Applause] And as we say our long goodbye, [Music] I need you.
[Music] Light up. Light up. As if you have the choice.
Even if you can hear my voice, I'll be right [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat.
[Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat.
Heat. [Music] [Music] Louder and louder and we'll run for our lives. I can hardly speak.
I am to stand by. You can raise your voice to say. [Music] [Applause] Now, uh, as usual, all the record company profits from audio streams and downloads, including the VAT, will be split equally between Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Children's Hospices.
For details, go to the X Factor website. Simon, I know both those charities very close to your heart. Um, what do you want to say?
God.
