try to put yourself back there that day it began like any other morning in the quiet Suburban neighborhood of Bogen gates in Buford Georgia the Corbin family home sat nestled among rows of neatly kept homes looking in from the windows outside the house told a familiar story a family preparing for the holidays a decorated Christmas tree standing proudly in front of the window and the usual remnants of suburban life with kids the toys scattered around but inside the silence that morning carried a weight that no one could have anticipated 7-year-old Dalton Corbin Woke up early

as many children often do and he wandered towards his mother's bedroom what he found would change his life forever Jennifer Corbin his vibrant loving mother was lying motionless on her bed something was wrong something was terribly wrong and Dalton's young mind raced to understand what he was looking at but he instinctively knew he needed help and F asked Dalton rushed to the home of their neighbor Kelly KO knocking frantically on her front door His pleas were urgent and filled with fear Kelly opened the door to find the boy shaken his eyes were wide with desperation

and she immediately followed him back to the Corbin home unprepared for what awaited her Kelly stepped into Jennifer's bedroom trying to dismiss any negative thoughts hoping that everything was going to be okay but as soon as she looked over at the bed she saw Jennifer still in her green satin night gown lying on her side her head almost Hanging off the side of the bed with her blonde hair falling over her face her eye makeup was still on from the night before at first Kelly thought that Jennifer could be in a heavy sleep so she

called out to her but she received no response but she moved in closer she noticed that the position Jennifer was in seemed unnatural and there was a little bit of blood coming from her nose and the side of her head was covered in blood Kelly reached out and she gently Touched the top of Jennifer's arm and her skin felt as cold as ice she began to panic and she's now scanning the room for answers and she leaned in closer to Jennifer's Body and that is when she saw the gun and she knew for sure that

Jennifer was gone before she could investigate further she was interrupted by the son of Jennifer's younger son Dylan he was awake now and he was entering his mother's room so Kelly quickly grabbed both boys picked them up Took them to the cordless phone and tried to call 911 but the handset battery was dead so she ran back to her house with the boys in toe and called the police minutes later gwet County police officers arrived at the Corbin home the early morning Stillness was now replaced by the buzz of squad cars the crackle of Police

radios and the hushed conversations among First Responders as they entered the house they weren't sure what to expect but as they looked around The home's interior was neat and in order there was no sign of force entry or disarray in any of the rooms nothing to indicate that his struggle had sued but the inside of Jennifer's bedroom told a different story she was in her bed lying on her left side partially underneath her Rose patterned comforter the strap of her night gown was draped over her right shoulder and hanging down the side of her arm

which was resting on the right side of her body with her hand Near her waist it almost looked like if you can imagine someone sitting up in bed with the covers pulled over them and them just falling onto their left side but the gun immediately caught the officer's attention it was right in front of her right hand like it had fallen right out of it and there was a visible gunshot wound to the back right side of her head death investigators were called to the scene as well as the coroner to transport Jennifer's Body to

The morg the technicians documented the scene taking both videos and photos of the entire home paying close attention to the primary bedroom as they got to the right side of Jennifer's Body that's when they discovered something underneath her right shoulder it was some paperwork and upon closer inspection they turned out to be divorced papers the officers wondered if Jennifer overwhelmed by the marital Discord had resorted to taking her own Life nothing seemed to be taken from the home there were valuables like jewelry Electronics still there so they proceeded with the conclusion that this was self-inflicted

officers are used to coming to scenes where someone has been shot while they're lying in bed and they did this to themselves but let me tell you more about the Corbin family Jennifer was 33 years old and she had been the heart of the household a devoted mother to Dalton 7 years old and Dylan only five she was known for her creativity her kindness and her selflessness friends describe Jennifer as someone who always put her children first a loving preschool teacher who balanced her professional life with her role as a mother Jennifer's 40-year-old husband Bart

Corbin was a successful dentist with a busy medical practice and together they appeared to embody the picture perfect Suburban dream so why were they getting a divorce as author Began piecing together the events that led to Jennifer's death questions began to multiply what happened to this vibrant young mother was it truly self-inflicted or was there something more Sinister going on answering those questions would have to wait because first they needed to notify the next of Ken Jennifer's father was the first to receive the heartbreaking news and he had to relay that information to the rest

and accepted even though Jennifer had a very angelic appearance to her with the light curly Blonde hair and the Cherub look she had a mischievous side and as a child she was the one who most often got into trouble but she managed to escape her Misadventures with a Sly smile knowing that's all it took for her parents to forgive her Jennifer's early years were shaped by her family's move to gwet County Georgia when she was just a child the transition to a new home and a new community could have been daunting but Jennifer embraced it

with her Characteristic positivity at school she excelled both academically and socially her height at almost 6 feet tall in her athleticism made her a natural on the basketball court where she became a standout player for her high school team yet Jennifer's talents didn't end with sports she also possessed a deep love for art and photography and After High School Jennifer pursued her passion for photography and design enrolling at the Savannah College of Art and Design scad Her time at scad was a blend of artistic exploration and personal growth but Jennifer was also practical she knew

that life required stability as well as passion and with this balance in mind she returned to gwena County to study pre- nursing at Gordon College this decision reflected the selflessness that defined Jennifer throughout her entire life the desire to help others and create a future where she could make a real difference but even though Jennifer Had a serious side she still didn't lose the Mischief in her ways she was a huge fan of the band mly crew so she took a risk and she got a small tattoo on her right ankle of the tragedy and

comedy mask featured in the cover of one of their albums she would proudly show off this tattoo whenever she wanted to whether it was at concerts festivals or out with her friends it showcased a little of her Wilder side but one that she could hide if she chose to Jennifer Was always up for an adventure or down for a casual dinner anything that included her favorite people her favorite drinks were Mojitos and her squash soup was a family favorite all of her life Jennifer dreamed of marrying a handsome successful man having children and living a

comfortable life surrounded by her family and her friends Jennifer had the looks and the type of Personality that was impossible to ignore and it wasn't long before someone Took notice someone special in 1995 when Jennifer was 25 and working as a shift manager at the popular seafood restaurant Barnacles Oyster Bar duth Georgia she met Barton Corbin or Bart as he was known their introduction was arranged through Bart's younger brother Bobby who worked at the restaurant as a Dorman Jennifer with her striking blonde hair her tall frame and bright smile immediately caught Bart's attention for his

part Bart was confident charming and Outgoing a dentist with a bright future and an air of success that captivated those around him and Jennifer of course couldn't help but notice him he was a few inches taller at 6' 3 in and his dark features and muscular build made him stand out Bart was everything Jennifer had dreamed of seven years her senior Barton Thomas Corbin was born in Jacksonville Florida on December 22nd 1963 just 3 minutes after his fraternal twin brother Bradley Ray Bart had been Raised in a stable loving family to his parents Connie and

Jean Corbin Jean was a military policeman and Connie worked as a bank teller four years after the Twins were born another brother Robert or as he was known Bobby joined the family and from that moment the Twins were always referred to as Bobby's Brothers since they were born the Corbin twins dressed exactly alike and were inseparable like many twins are they even shared the same bedroom all the way Through high school and even into college but when the Twins were seven their family moved to Snowville Georgia Bart's parents encouraged their sons to excel in academics

and sports and Bart did just that he excelled in football but even as a child he seemed to know exactly what he wanted to be when he grew up because one holiday he was watching the 1962 NBC Christmas special with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and in this movie there was an elf named Hermy and he was kind of getting into trouble he was getting scolded that he wasn't painting the toys fast enough and doing his job the way the other elves were so he was reprimanded by another elf and he turned to them and he

said well I don't like doing this job because I want to be a dentist and apparently this inspired Bart at such a young age to be become a dentist when he got older and once Bart and Brad were teenagers they attended South gwet High School Where Bart with his long shaggy hair was popular and driven sports played a significant role in his life Bart joined the Comets football team with his twin brother who was more academic than he was at the time broad was in everything from the French Club Beta Club science fiction club and

the chess club but both of them were very protective of their little brother and would make sure that if anyone teased him they would step in and look out for Bobby Bart's parents Took his Ambitions very seriously and they encouraged him to keep pursuing his career in dentistry and in 1983 he enrolled at the University of Georgia's pre-dentistry program Brad also went to that college majoring in neurobiology they both joined the Georgia Bulldogs football team called the dogs and they were both Walk-Ons in the position of defensive lineman Bart never had a problem getting a

date he was intelligent tall handsome and he would Wear leather and play his guitar go out and dance on the weekends at clubs when he wasn't studying and in 1986 Bart graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's of Science degree specializing in pred dental and then he was accepted to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he studied Dentistry graduating in 1990 and it only took Dr Bart Corbin DDS a couple years to establish his very own practice Bart's career as a dentist seemed to Promise a stable and prosperous life and his

confident demeanor gave Jennifer the impression that he was someone who could provide security and love and their romance was a whirlwind filled with late night conversations romantic outings and laughter Bart's humor his charm and his wit won over Jennifer's family especially her younger sister Heather who found his quick wit and playful banter endearing and very hard to resist Bart fit right in on their family Vacations becoming a really intrical part of the group just 6 months into their relationship Bart took Jennifer on a trip to Italy a romantic getaway that seemed to solidify their bond

together and just a few weeks after they got back from their vacation Jennifer discovered that she was pregnant now the news was unexpected but Jennifer was always trying to look on the bright side of everything and she embraced the idea of starting a family because after all it Was one of her dreams Bart proposed soon after and when Jennifer was 3 months pregnant the couple married on September 1st 1996 in a pictures outdoor ceremony at the Craven Pottery plant that Jennifer's father was in charge of managing at the time they were surrounded by friends and

family and Jennifer looked radiant in her wedding gown her bridesmaids wore black and white dresses and carried red roses and the couple looked so in love and they Were ready to embark on this new chapter of their life the Newly Weds never really got to have a traditional honeymoon they decided to call Italy their honeymoon however Jennifer's parents allowed the couple to use their houseboat on Lake lineer for the weekend before Jennifer gave birth it was their very own baby moon the the house boat provided a very unique and tranquil setting for their weekend getaway

allowing them to relax and unwind and Enjoy each other's company before becoming parents for the time being the couple moved into a home that Bart had already owned in lawrencville Georgia as they prepared for their son's arrival he was born on March 12th 1997 and they named him Dalton Fox Corbin and just the next year in the summer of 1998 Jennifer was pregnant again and now the couple knew they were going to need a bigger house so they moved to a brand new upskill neighborhood of Bogen Gates and Buur Georgia they moved into a red

brick home with BL shutters a huge front yard a big backyard and lots of space for children to play it was on somewhat of a culdesac in a very small neighborhood with a very big houses they got possession of that house on the day that their second son Dylan Avery Corbin was born January 18th 1999 they were now the proud owners of 4515 Bogen Gates drive and also the proud new parents of their second little boy as soon as they Brought the baby home their new neighbors from across the street Kelly and Steve KO who

had just moved in a month before them thought it would be really nice to invite them to their neighborhood by bringing over a baby gift and that is how Kelly and Jennifer became really good friends best friends they also realized that their older children Dalton and Kelly's daughter Stephanie were born on the same day 2 years earlier so from that moment on the Friends arranged to have their children's birthday party celebrate on the same day together every year and this became a very memorable tradition Steve and Kelly thought the world of Bart and Jennifer and

admired their picture perfect life and everything they were able to do for their children as busy and successful parents they admired them so much that they actually made them legal Guardians in case anything were to happen to their child that is How much they trusted this family everyone loved the Corbin especially their friends they were known to throw these really fun parties on their houseboat they ended up getting a house boat just like Jennifer's parents and they would take it out on Lake laner Jennifer would be the bartender she would mix drinks for everyone and

they would play loud music and have really fun mini cruises on special occasions like the 4th of July Jennifer embraced Motherhood wholeheartedly she was the epitome of a soccer mom shuffling her boys to school to practices and playdates in her SUV she often had homemade snacks with her and I got to tell you I strive to be like that one day but I still have not nailed it friends marveled at Jennifer's ability to juggle the demands of parenting with her warm patient and giving nature though corpin were the type of family that other families strive

to be like The perfect family a hardworking father a devoted mother and two bright happy boys but of course no one's life is perfect we know that even in the early years there were small signs that Bart's perfectionist Tendencies could sometimes Veer into the area of control he had very strong opinions especially how Jennifer would present herself he would discourage certain clothing choices and even told her to stop wearing her favorite Pearl pink nail polish because He didn't like it and Bart was known to cuss a lot it was just part of who he was

and everyone accepted it but it could definitely come off a little abrasive he was also known to get pretty loud but some people said it was because he was from such a rambunctious family having three boys he was used to having to yell over his siblings to get people's attention but regardless of how it started it was definitely something that people noticed there were times Where he would kind of get short with Jennifer if she didn't do something right the way he wanted to but Jennifer never complained because she realized how much Bart did for

the family and she wanted to respect her husband's wishes so she often Shrugged off these moments as quirks of Bart's personality choosing to focus on the positive aspects of their life together Bart would come to the boy's private school he would do presentations about becoming dentist and He was even their coach for their little league teams the boys were in everything from basketball to martial arts but the thing is Bart would also get kind of loud when one of the boys didn't perform well and I got to tell you this is not that uncommon I

have seen parents yelling at their little kids during these games even when they're little like 5 years old but Bart would curse at him and even call him names like loser telling him you need to win maybe some See it as tough love encouragement but a lot of the other parents were put off by it others thought it was normal however Bart's need for control extended Beyond his wife's appearance and his kids sports he managed the family's finances with an iron grip and he would scrutinize Jennifer's purchases and question her spending all the time he

only gave her a budget of $500 a month but Jennifer still managed to make selfless choices whenever she went to Shop at the grocery store she would purchase food for a man who was in need who was always standing outside one time she went as far as getting him an entire roasted chicken mashed potatoes vegetables and a Coca-Cola there were other subtle things that Bart would do or say that made Jennifer feel inadequate like when he saw her feeding the boy cereal for breakfast he complained that it was laziness that she needed to step up

and make an effort to Give them a warm meal every morning to start their day right but Jennifer was far from lazy she carried out all the household chores taking care of the boys cooking cleaning she was even responsible for the outdoor chores like mowing the lawn and tending to their Garden these moments when Bart would get on her for something that he didn't agree with it kind of hinted at this undercurrent of tension that Jennifer would rarely discuss she remained Fiercely loyal and devoted to her family and husband and she poured herself into her

genuine interest in others and she formed close friendships with other moms in the neighborhood Bart was more reserved even though a doting father hardworking and reliable husband he came Off a little more serious as the years went on Jennifer began to share the small glimpses of her struggles with those that were close to her she spoke of Bart's long hours at work and his growing temper which often flared over even the most minor disagreements yet she rarely dwelled on these moments she chose instead to focus on her sons Jennifer's life like so many others was

a blend of light and Shadow she was a woman who loved fiercely gave selflessly And sought to create Beauty in the world around her but behind the laughter and the picture perfect family photos there were quiet struggles struggles that would eventually come to light under the harsh glare of this tragedy and that brings us back to the investigation because sadly Jennifer was now dead and now that you know more about her that's why I wanted to paint that picture for you maybe you'll see why her family could not believe she would take her own Life

Jennifer's death was initially considered self-inflicted and detective Marcus head of the gwet County Police criminal investigations Department arrived on the scene to document the death but there were a couple things that made him suspicious about this being self-inflicted which caused this investigation to take a turn the very first thing detective had noticed was the position of the firearm it was a Smith and Wesson 38 caliber revolver an Older gun it was Heavy almost antique and the detective thought it was odd that was actually obscured by the comforter a heavy blanket and you wondered how it

could have been covered like that especially because of the position that Jennifer was in if it wasn't for the fact that there was a bullet wound in her head it almost appeared like she had been asleep but it was the divorce papers and what happened next that really made him challenge the Assumption that this was self-inflicted the papers were right under her right shoulder he pulled them out to examine them it was a summons with the plaintiff being Bart Corbin and the defendant being listed as Jennifer Corbin it was dated the 29th of November which

was just a few days before and it was stamped by the clerk of the superior court and signed by the deputy so it appeared to have been served to Jennifer at some point after the 29th meeting it Appeared that Bart had initiated divorce proceedings and Jennifer had been given this paperwork which at first appeared as though it caused her to end her life but the detective was still on the scene just after 10:00 a.m. when awet Sheriff's Department deputy just just nonchalantly walked up to the house and guessed what was in his hands divorce papers

he let the detective know he was there to serve these papers to Jennifer Corbin why then were there already Divorced papers underneath her dead body that is when the detective radioed to headquarters and let them know that he was requesting a full search of the Corbin house as well as an autopsy but you might actually be wondering while all this is going on where is Dr Bart Corbin well that's what the investigators wanted to know finally one of the neighbors made him aware that Steve KO had made contact with Bart's younger brother Bobby and that

Bart was At his home in Auburn Georgia the detective immediately got in touch with Bobby he wanted to talk to Bart but he said my brother already knows what happened to Jennifer and as you can imagine he's upset meanwhile the detective could hear someone vomiting in the background and sobbing it was Bart his brother Bobby let them know that as soon as Bart was C enough he would make his way over to the house and speak with them over the next few hours an Investigation was underway detectives were combing this entire home while Bart was

still nowhere to be found many people were trying to reach out to him to let him know his kids were hysterical his wife was dead where was he his children needed him and yet there was just Silence from him now it is understandable that even if you are in the middle of a divorce it would be very overwhelming to get the news that not only had your wife been killed but your Your son had witnessed at the very least her deceased body and Barton knew his sons were in good hands with his in-laws so maybe

he was still collecting himself before making that 30-minute drive home meanwhile the crime scene investigators noticed something else peculiar it was Jennifer's hands there was no blood on her hands and had her hand been so close to her head to raise a gun where the wound was there would certainly have been some blowback some blood spatter But there was nothing this gun was a 38 Smith and Wason revolver and it would have created a plume of gunshot residue as well I think most of you know when you fire a gun there is going to be

residue left behind on a person's hands and that was not visible on Jennifer either however they did need to do a thorough gunshot residue test because sometimes it isn't as noticeable so all of this was going to be requested at the medical examiner's office and speaking Of the wound that was another thing that seemed a little bit suspicious the actual position of where the wound was on Jennifer's head was kind of towards the back behind her right ear it wouldn't be impossible but it definitely seemed more Awkward than other places where self-inflicted wounds are usually

seen under the chin or at the temple places that are much easier to reach this was all very sad it was a lot to take in especially being so close to the Holidays the entire house was just Frozen in Time beyond the primary bedroom the rest of the house was untouched Frozen in the routines of everyday life the Christmas tree stood decorated near a tall window where its decorations were twinkling faintly in the hazy winter sunlight they found boxes of presents carefully wrapped and hidden in the Attic they hinted at Jennifer's plans for the holidays

officers couldn't help but feel the Stark contrast between the warmth of these domestic details and this cold reality in the bedroom it was hard to reconcile this loving mother who had clearly poured her heart into creating a festive home had the idea of leaving it all behind in such a traumatic way at such a time of year as well this was not the Christmas gift a loving mother would plan to give her children that she adored her family was sure of that it seemed more like a message someone Else's gift to themselves but who would

be happy that Jennifer was gone because she didn't have any enemies according to her family that's when detective headed got the word that Dalton Jennifer's 7-year-old son had been making claims that he saw the shooter so the detective decided to speak with the children just briefly he didn't want to ret traumatize them but if Dalton knew who did this they needed to find out right away over at Kelly's she relay to the detective That when Dalton came to her doorstep he actually said my daddy shot my mommy and then he told the 911 dispatcher the

same thing even when his grandpa came to the house he mentioned it again so he's already said this at least three times and then to the detective when he asked him what happened that morning as do Alon explained to dective head that he found his mom little Dylan only five interrupted and said no I found mommy and I saw daddy shoot her that's when The detective knew he had to get these little boys over to the police station and have a special Victim's Advocate speak to both of them professionally and that is what they did

they made sure that the boys knew the difference between telling a lie and telling the truth and that is when Dalton said the truth was he did not see his dad shoot his mom he just just made that up he also confirmed that the boys went to bed around 8:30 that night and they didn't See or hear anything until he tried to wake up his mother so that she could make him some breakfast but what both little boys did say they saw all the time actually were their parents arguing and that sometimes his dad never

came home a night I felt so bad for these children but they weren't the only ones pointing fingers apart the investigators already thought it was odd that after hours and hours this man was still not on the scene it was close to 400 p.m. When they came up with the strategy they got a search warrant to swab Bart's hands for gunshot residue and what do you know he comes marching into the police station with both of his brothers by his side and his new high-powered defense attorney that's right he already had an attorney he lawyered

up and that is where he was earlier in the day he was Consulting with a divorce attorney but then he was engaging a high-profile attorney Doug Peters who had already Told Bart not to speak to anybody and not to say anything to the officers however they were allowed to swab his hands per the search warrant but Bart kept his mouth shut even when one of the officers tried to ask him a few simple questions about his home Bart would just defer to his attorney after The Gunshot residue test was done they let Bart go because

they had no information or evidence to hold him and I have no doubt that that was very frustrating for her Family and the people around her that suspected her husband had done this partners are the very first ones that they're going to look at especially in a case like this when you're going through a recent divorce there was information from friends that their relationship had been Rocky for the past year if not longer but both Bart and Jennifer would always do everything they could to keep up appearances cuz they didn't want anyone to know what

was going on behind The scenes Bart retaining an attorney is not a sign of guilt but the detectives needed to do their due diligence and remember at this point there had been no autop y so Jennifer's cause of death had not been officially confirmed Jennifer's family was vocal in their disbelief from the moment they arrived Max and Narda Barber insisted that Jennifer would have never taken her own life she was too strong and too optimistic and too devoted to her sons she was planning Christmas for those boys Max told the investigators she had everything to

live for he said and Heather echoed those same sentiments pointing to the excitement that Jennifer had expressed about plans to move into her new apartment and starting fresh Heather described Jennifer as hopeful about the future not hopeless a woman that was determined to rebuild her life for the sake of her children the notion that she would leave these boys to wake up and Find her in such a traumatic state was Unthinkable especially to those who knew her best as investigators presented their initial findings to Jennifer's family the barber family grew increasingly adamant that something had

gone wrong Heather pointed out that Jennifer had never expressed any interest in firearms let alone owned one she wouldn't even know how to handle a gun had they insisted but it wasn't just theories and opinions from her family The forensic discoveries raised doubts as well once Jennifer's Body was removed crime scene technicians noticed something they brought in an alternative light source and they were looking for blood droplets on the headboard the wall where it should have normally been in a case like this if you're looking at the trajectory of where this wound was most of

you know what it would look like if someone got shot the way that she did I looked at the pictures that I have of The crime scene and there was no blood in those places and I did think that was odd because usually I'm so used to blurring the walls blurring the area around someone with an injury like this so at this point the detectives are counting the pillows on the bed because they believe that the reason no one heard anything the reason that the kids were not woken up and the reason that there was

no blood spatter on the headboard and around Jennifer's Body was Because a pillow was used to muffle the sound of the gun shot and that it absorbed the blood spatter and it was probably taken with the Killer and disposed of it looked like Jennifer's Body was staged in the position she was found in they did not believe that she was sitting up the way she was when she was found they believed that someone actually took her from underneath the covers after she was shot in the middle of the night while she was sleeping and They

manipulated her body into that position and then tuck the gun where it was found I'm showing you this the gun was directly in front of her right hand but it wasn't n in her hand instead it was beside her right below her hand as though it fell right out of that position and it was partially covered by the comforter the handle was almost touching her fingertips but as you can see it's between both of her hands at waist level and its Barrel is underneath The comforter you can even see the Tommy hillfigure tag on the

material not to mention there was no note left behind by Jennifer all of this raised red flags detective head was at the autopsy when pathologist Dr Carol Terry examined Jennifer's Body she observed a bullet wound on the back right side of Jennifer's head located above and behind her right ear first of all the gun barrel had been fired within an inch of the skin so almost Point Blank and if You add 4 in for the barrel and you add another 3 in for the grip her arm was not long enough to get the gun where

it would need to be to make that wound it just was not possible but there's more the bullet was still lodged in her skull just short of exiting the tissue and once the doctor was able to open up the skull and determine the exact path of the bullet that is when something very interesting was noted the projectile went through the back of the right ear And traveled across the brain almost coming out the left forehead area severing the brain stem and that was important as soon as it passed through the brain stem Jennifer would not

have been able to hold that gun anymore so in the middle of carrying out this act she would essentially fallen and dropped her hand down the path wouldn't have been so straight it would have been skewed it wouldn't be as perfect as it was this was as though someone else was holding That gun and able to steady it while the bullet made the entire path from one side of her head to the other so she would not have been able to be holding that gun long enough for her hand to just drop down like that

to her side and the gun be underneath the covers as suspected there was no gunshot residue or blood found on her hands and there were no fingerprints found on the gun and that's really significant I mean clearly this gun had been wiped clean That's kind of obvious this gun was issued in the 1950s it was an older gun and it had five other bullets still inside Dr Carol Terry officially ruled Jennifer's death as a homicide and now it was no longer just a tragedy it was the beginning of a search for the truth that would

reveal secrets that were hidden in plain sight and expose a darkness that no one could have seen in coming when the new forensic findings were shared with Jennifer's family they Felt both Vindicated and devastated they had always insisted that Jennifer would never have taken her own life especially in the way to leave her sons this way to find her the autopsy and the crime scene analysis confirmed what they had believed from the start someone else was responsible for Jennifer's death her parents Max and Narda barar were of course devastated Max had been a steady source

of support for his daughter throughout her entire life and he felt a Deep sense of anger and betrayal whoever did this didn't just take her from us he said they robbed Dalton and Dylan of their mother detectives began to reexamine every detail of this case with fresh eyes searching for evidence that could Point them to a suspect but in addition to the physical evidence investigators sifted through the details of Jennifer's life they began to uncover troubling details about her relationships her marriage and the Growing tension in that home in the weeks leading up to her

death Jennifer Corbin's life seemed to be at Crossroads Jennifer was dealing with a growing unhappiness that she only shared with a few people her life was in transition for years she had tried and tried to maintain the image of the perfect wife perfect life But as time went on the Crocs in the facade became harder to ignore friends and family began to notice changes in Jennifer's demeanor Over the last few months she seemed more reserved less willing to share details about her marriage and her sister Heather who had always been her confidant said that she

seemed that Jennifer was holding back she was still Jennifer Heather recalled but there was something heavier about her like she was carrying a weight that she wasn't ready to talk about Jennifer's parents saw the changes too they had always admired their daughter's resilience but in the Recent months they noticed she seemed more tired and less vibrant Nardo remembered a conversation where Jennifer expressed frustration with the pressures of her life she said she felt trapped like no matter how much she gave it was never enough as soon as the news was out that this was not

a self-inflicted injury the Press was going wild they were putting out article after article about this successful dentist who could be suspected in his wife's killing Staging it as self-inflicted and trying to get away with it and one of the biggest reasons Bart was on the media's radar is because he refused to speak to the police and that was confirmed by the gwet County Police spokesman Dan Huggins the media surrounding this case was heartbreaking there was this One news clip where Heather was being interviewed and she showcased a little drawing that the boys had made

of their mom she was an angel and she was hugging them and They knew their mom wasn't coming back their family was just ripped apart but this next part also made headlines and it made me very angry not only were her parents having to deal with the realization that their daughter was gone but now they had to make the funeral arrangements they go to the funeral home and they're trying to plan out this beautiful ceremony and they're told told that Bart Corbin had intercepted Jennifer's Body after the autopsy and That he was having her cremated

that day within the next hour I'm not kidding but he had every right to do this because he was still legally her husband her poor family only had 15 minutes to spend as her daughter was there laying underneath a sheet they were hugging her as much as they could and saying their goodbyes as quickly as they could because ultimately she was pulled away from them upon Bart's wishes it seemed so incredibly cold and cruel to do something like that But on the other hand we don't know what was in Jennifer's will we don't know if

she had one we don't know what she agreed to or wanted and it's hard to imagine though that she would have wanted her parents to be treated this way however her family was still devoted to honoring her memory so They begged BART to please let them say goodbye with a funeral and he agreed to let them borrow her ashes yeah so that they could have a service for her at Sugar Hill Methodist Church where she taught preschool and attended church at the end of the day though her remains still belong to Bart and her parents

would have to return her Ashes to him following that service and as a mother I could not even imagine even in the state of cremation not being allowed to retain my child's ashes my child's being it's very sad and frustrating but by Thursday December 9th Heather and her husband Doug were filing for temporary emergency Custody of of little Dylan and Dalton and the district attorney at the time Danny Potter was supportive of this Arrangement Porter was officially on this case now and one of the main reasons that district attorney gave the judge for the children

not to be allowed back in Bart's custody was because he was a suspect in this crime and the sons were essentially Witnesses not necessarily to The Killing itself but to the turmoil in the household and the Past that led up to this point the request was granted by the judge the district attorney was confident that Bart was their guy they already started getting subpoenas for his phone records pulling up all the divorce documentation and also interviewing friends and family members far and wide about any information they had regarding the couple and their relationship let's start

with Bart's career shall we as early as 1994 so just a few years after He graduated from dental school and had his own practice he was already having problems and most of it was because of his erratic Behavior his short temper and the turnover at his prti ice that's right he could not keep a dental assistant he couldn't keep a dental hygienist or secretaries they would all leave so we ended up having to have a temp agency come in and bring in temporary workers and they wouldn't stay that long until they would cycle to the

Next one and the next one but it was back in 1994 that a patient filed an official complaint against Bart with the Georgia Board of Dentistry the patient's name was Sheila Shook and she came in for just a consultation she wanted to have some new crowns and look beautiful for her daughter's upcoming wedding and at first glance she of course trusted this practice it was clean and new when there was this young dentist that she thought would be more than qualified to Do a routine dental treatment but that's not what happened when she finally came

in to have the procedure done Bart was in this erratic angry State he was cussing he was agitated and he was acting blurg Bart was yelling at his employees and Sheila was shocked so shocked she actually thought the dentist must have something like Tourette syndrome and she wasn't trying to be funny or mean or rude she was trying to understand what in the world was going On that would make this guy act this way and she wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt thinking that he couldn't be acting this way for no reason

she actually called him the dentist from Hell after her ordeal she was there for the course of about 5 hours and she said that the language he was using the way he was speaking to others it was terrifying her she was sitting in that chair all numbed up she had no choice but to go through with this procedure And when Bart left the room for one moment she turned to one of the medical assistants and she said what is wrong with him and they said this was completely normal that nothing was wrong with him so

he proceeds with trying to put these crowns in until he has a fit of rage he's in the middle of organizing all of them he has a drill in his hand and out of nowhere he starts going ballistic and saying that the crowns were all wrong from the company that Made them these aren't up to his standards he doesn't like them so Sheila she's sitting there she could taste blood in her mouth and she had no idea what was happening and she was at the mercy of this seemingly unstable Maniac doctor his dental hygienist got

so fed up she walked out and she left so Bart had to yell to his secretary to come in there and start mixing up all the cement and the materials and things and Sheila was just shocked luckily Bart got so Overwhelmed he just aborted the treatment altogether but Sheila had already paid so she was expected to come back there a few days later hell no she wanted her money back so she was able to find a new doctor this wasn't a cheap procedure it was like $3,000 that's why she decided to contact the Georgia Board

of Dentistry and file an official Complaint and she did end up getting her money back but as far as his Dental record there wasn't any Disciplinary actions or any other reports filed however there were a ton of reports from people who worked with Bart and former students that went to school with him who claimed that he had a very unpredictable personality and a fiery temper he was prone to Outburst he was misogynistic he was angry and many former students actually refer to him as angry Bart behind his back some people would make excuses that maybe

it was the pressure the high demand of being a Dental student others would say it was the career itself and all the pressure to provide for his family that weighed so heavily on him because he was the bread winner in 2002 Bart decided to move his dental practice probably because of his bad reputation but he also wanted to be closer to where he was now living and he opened up the new dental Suites of Hamilton Mill Commons thinking that in this more upskill neighborhood it was going to bring in a Lot more money and he

was going to have this thriving practice but just a few months into his lease the business had failed to take off but he still made it appear like he was very successful but the dental practice was struggling to gain traction and I think we know why his reputation was blemished his bedside manner was non-existent and eventually he convinced Jennifer to at least work part-time at the preschool that the kids had attended to help make ends meet and By 2003 things had shifted especially in their relationship it turned out this wasn't just the way that Bart

treated his patients and his employees because you can only imagine if he's doing that in public what he's doing in private and for one thing he was hardly around he was working these long hours and hardly paying attention to his own family and that's when Jennifer confided in her sister Heather that she thought Bart was having an affair and he was he was Having a long-term affair with one of his dental hygienists her name was Jennifer as well so his wife's name is Jennifer the woman that he's cheating with is named Jennifer and I guess

that's quite convenient I guess he's never going to mix up their names on accident but it's sad because everyone in that office and knew that this was going on but his wife didn't Bart and his mistress would stay after hours they would hook up in the office probably on The chairs that they're treating patients in and all the while Bart is keeping up appearances he's going to family holiday parties and playing nice like they're this happily married couple and happy husband if Jennifer had known about this affair at this point she didn't tell anyone that

she knew and it wasn't like her to do that because she always wanted everyone to think that they had this loving committed strong relationship because she was loyal she Loved her husband but the truth is that Jennifer was lonely and it was during that Christmas in 2003 that an advid video game and computer game lover Jennifer bought a new Sony PlayStation 2 and a few new games for the family she also got a computer game called EverQuest for herself it required a monthly subscription and it was the newest thing of the time it was a

role playing game it was an immersive virtual world where the users could choose to be Several characters a knight a maiden sorcerer king queen even an assassin and embark on various missions to slay dragons among thousands of other players so after she was done with her part-time job or the days she had off and the boys were at school and Bart was gone all day Jennifer found herself playing video games sitting in front of the TV or the computer and she found that EverQuest was a really great escape from her marriage that seemed to be

falling apart Before I tell you what happened to Jennifer while she was playing this game I want to tell you what the investigators had uncovered about who Bart was in relation to his family and his wife you could have guessed but he wasn't the doting dad or the loving husband he appeared to be it was almost as though Jennifer was his possession from day one and that her job was to fulfill all of his wants and needs and pleasure he wasn't happy that she got Pregnant as a matter of fact his own family admitted he

never wanted to marry Jennifer and if she hadn't gotten pregnant he wouldn't have because he thought she was too young and immature and not wife material his parents actually let him know you have no obligation to marry Jennifer just because she's having your child but Bart thought it was the right thing to do the investigators are talking to everyone close to Bart even the woman he Was having an affair with and during the search and seizure of the house they found some of Bart's journals and through a combination of everything they found it was revealed

that when Jennifer initially discovered she was pregnant with Dalton Bart reacted angrily and told her he wished she would just get an abortion he even made Jennifer get rid of her beloved yellow lab Sebastian that she got before they met Sebastian loved everyone except for Bart and as soon as Jennifer moved in with Bart she got a frantic call from him one night when she was out he claimed that Sebastian had tried to attack him and bite him and Bart threatened to kill this dog to kill Jennifer's dog if she didn't come back and remove

him from his house immediately so of course she was frantic she called her parents and they came to the rescue they raced over to retrieve her pet as Jennifer tried to get there as quickly as possible to figure out What was going on by the time everyone was there Bart had actually locked himself in his room and he demanded that Sebastian be taken away she begged her parents to take care of Sebastian and they agreed and they ushered this terrified dog out of the house as heartbroken and Confused Jennifer was at least she knew that

her dog was in good hands and eventually she and Bart moved past this incident and once the children were born Bart would present himself as A caring father on the outside his behavior towards Dalton and Dylan painted a very different picture behind the scenes he didn't have any patience and he lacked genuine love for his sons when Dalton was just an infant Bart's jealousy became evident Jennifer doed on her baby boy and Bart felt anger towards her for that if the house was not kept clean to his standards he would get mad at her even

though she's sitting there trying to take care of their son but When she did make the effort to straighten up the house then he would complain that she neglected to spend enough time on him Bart's journals revealed his discontentment he wrote that Jennifer would spend an hour cleaning the kitchen when she could have spend that time with me I think there are a lot of guys out there that would feel pride and joy after becoming a parent but Bart was not one of them his reaction to his son's presence was the Complete opposite he would

wake up every morning grumpy he would be muttering loudly and angrily and getting ready and throwing things around when he was going to work he would complain about this little boy he was a very inconsiderate of his wife and his new child she was doing her best as a new mom and he was being so loud every morning just imagine this time when a woman is feeling insecure she's overwhelmed and she needs help the most he didn't care he was Getting ready for his day and he was seemingly oblivious to the fact that there were

other people sleeping in the house Jennifer started noticing his demeanor and she realized that he was deeply troubled and there was nothing she could do about it when she got pregnant the second time with Dylan she had a mixture of excitement but also fear she knew Bart she knew he was already struggling with fatherhood and she knew he would probably be angry but To alleviate his anger Jennifer bought a little baby rattle and a pair of infant socks and she wrapped them as a present to announce her pregnancy to her husband she was hoping that

this cute little gesture would put him in a better mood and soften his reaction but for some reason all I could think about in this moment was Chris Watts because I will never forget that cringy video of shenan announcing the pregnancy of their son and him just having this cold demeanor About him well in this case Bart's reaction was far from what Jennifer had wanted but it was what she anticipated instead of Joy his face was filled with anger and frustration he threw the rattle against the wall and shattered into pieces as time went on

though Bart's attitude toward his children continued to deteriorate he referred to Dalton and Dylan as nothing more than accidents this was something he would say in front of his friends it was so Clear that Bart's primary focus was his selfish desires and with little regard for the emotional well-being of his wife and children Bart ended up getting a vasectomy after Dylan was born ensuring that Jennifer would not have more children and this decision was solely based on Bart's desire to control his family and their future Jennifer had no say in this Choice it was just

another act that demonstrated Bart's disregard for her feelings and wants and needs and His inability to be a compassionate and loving husband first Bart showed pretty much no interest in his sons except for when they got to the age where they had an opportunity to join their Town's peeee Sports League then his attitude shifted and suddenly he found himself making time for his two sons it was like a switch had flipped and now he was devoted in more and more time and energy to their athletic Endeavors but remember his own father did the same thing

with Him always pushing him to do well in sports it was almost like his sons were an extension of his success and all of a sudden Bart wanted them to succeed so that he could brag about how gifted his children were and how he was the Reason by coaching them to success was all about him but similar to his father Jean Bart believed in the transformative power of sports for him Sports were more than just entertainment they were were a way of life so his boys had to take it Seriously he pushed Dalton and Dylan

towards greatness and at face value this doesn't seem to be a problem but it was the way Bart would do it it was his approach to coaching his son's baseball team that was problematic and I already hinted at the fact that this man would yell at his sons in front of everyone Bart believed that anything less than perfect was not acceptable I don't know how you expect Perfection from anyone especially a child but after every Practice or game Bart would just unleash this like criticism on these boys accuse them of not trying hard enough literally

calling them stupid bastards idiots even saying the word mother effer right in front of all these other little boys on their team even their preschool teacher Mary sud day who ended up working alongside Jennifer later on when she took on on that part-time job she actually witnessed Bart telling his sons to shut up right in front of everyone She was taken back by it and she did not think it was right and neither did Jennifer Bart's expectation of perfection came with a cost his harsh criticisms his derogatory comments it began to strain his relationship with

both his wife and his kids she may have put up with it when it was only directed towards her but once her kids were involved the constant negativity and the verbal insults became unbearable and she stopped sitting by Bart during her son's Baseball games because if she couldn't stop him at least she didn't have to listen to it Jennifer was the complete opposite while Bart displayed this possessiveness and controlling nature Jennifer was warm she was patient and supportive when her boys came off the field upset because of their father's shameful Behavior Jennifer immediately gave them

hugs and kisses she told them that they were great and that they didn't have to do this they could do Anything they wanted they didn't have to play sports if they didn't want to What Child would want that much pressure on them however Bart's coldness towards fatherhood wasn't that shocking to Jennifer the red flags had been there from the beginning but she did her best to try to ignore them as long as she could Jennifer once confided in her mother that Bart had warned her before they got married that she needed to always remember he

was the doctor and Would always be the one in charge Bart would be little Jennifer he would call her a bimbo who could never be of his caliber he made her feel like she wasn't a good mother there were times he would complain like I told you about the cereal in the morning I told you a little bit about that but what I didn't tell you is that he would actually threaten to replace her to find someone else that could do better be a better mother to these boys than her if she Didn't do things

right so there was an immense amount of pressure on this poor woman she was walking on eggshells she was being put down made to feel inferior constantly criticized about everything from her appearance to the way she mothered the boys to fulfilling this man's desires as his wife once she suspected that he was cheating her self-esteem went down even lower but still she knew this was a lot to risk she was willing to work on her marriage So she suggested that they go to marriage counseling she believed that maybe talking to a neutral third person could

provide them with the support and the guidance that they needed but Bart was not going to have it he was not comfortable with the idea of revealing his personal life his personal business to just some stranger so he declined Jennifer's offer but Jennifer still thought that she could Salvage her marriage by doing everything she could To make Bart happy so many people feel this way she soon learned that no matter how hard she tried it was never going to be good enough for someone like Bart and even though Bart was intense and demanding he never

threatened to physically harm Jennifer or their sons even though eventually dalon confided in his grandfather after Jennifer was killed that his dad had hit him in the past but get this in June of 2004 during the Scott Peterson trial which BART and Jennifer watched together Bart made a comment that just rubbed Jennifer the wrong way he said that the only reason Scott got caught for murdering his wife and unborn son was because he couldn't shut his mouth yikes but even before this in the spring of 2004 Jennifer and Bart's relationship continued to fall apart to

the point that those closest to her knew she was finally considering leaving now that she was making a little money on her own even though it wasn't That much she thought thought that at least it was enough to be able to leave even if she had to live a much simpler life it would be better than raising her children in this very volatile environment and at this point she was spending a lot more time on the computer playing EverQuest and immersing herself in this makeb believe world something Bart of course was not happy about so

she tried to do it when he wasn't around and soon many of her close friends saw a Change she was losing a lot of weight she was withdrawing she failed to attend get togethers with family and the events that used to mean so much to her and her mother her sister Heather and Bart were all worried that maybe she was addicted to this fantasy world by the summer Jennifer finally got the courage to broach the idea of separation with Bart and as you can expect he was livid he wasn't agreeable with any of it but

none of that seemed to change Jennifer's mind She and Bart began sleeping in separate bedrooms and she told her family that she was no longer in love with him yet she would always love him for giving her her two beautiful boys she felt deprived of the love that she felt she deserved and she desired Bart's family noticed that anytime they came over for family dinners Jennifer no longer cared to be part of it she certainly wasn't entertaining guest like she used to instead she was playing on her computer A video game or watching TV by

herself but at the same time her friends like Kelly and Steve they were oblivious to this other side of to Jennifer they saw the happy Lively excited woman they always knew and when she told Kelly that she mentioned a separation to Bart she said that he actually agreed but told her that she would need to figure out how to afford everything on her own because he wasn't going to give her a dime of his hard-earned cash by the Fall Jennifer had one more reason to isolate herself in front of the computer playing EverQuest besides the

obvious fact that it was a place where she could leave behind the constraints of her real life and immerse herself in a place where her choices were her own but it was also a place where she was talking to people real people strangers this definitely presented a safety risk since there was no way to verify a person's true identity but Despite this danger Jennifer enjoyed meeting virtual friends she would go on adventures with them and then one day she met a player by the username of Sir tank 1223 and gradually a connection formed between the

two of them Jennifer was drawn to the user's kindness and their humor and soon he revealed his name was Christopher Jennifer would spend hours playing everyest but most of her time was spent talking to Chris whenever Jennifer logged onto the game she would search for Chris's username to see if he was online they would engage in Lively conversations discussing everything from their daily lives to the latest gaming achievements and as their conversations continued Jennifer and Christopher's Bond grew stronger their initial discussions revolved solely around the world of EverQuest But as time went on their conversations

became deeper and personal Jennifer finally confided in Her sister Heather that she had met someone through this game however Heather's response was not what she expected Heather told her that she needed to be really careful she was scared that Chris might be like some weirdo pervert her words especially since Jennifer admitted that the two of them hadn't talked on the phone or even exchanged photos with one another now Heather was relaying this information to the detectives who would seize Jennifer's computer and they were now examining her EverQuest account it was a treasure Trove of evidence

over time Jennifer found herself confiding in Chris about her troubles in her marriage the love that she had for her sons and the struggle she was in for her independence being non-judgmental and understanding Chris provided a space for Jennifer to open up and voice her concerns without the fear of judgment and he proved to be a very supportive Listener Chris offered Jennifer guidance and reassurance in her moments of vulnerability just after Labor Day the pair took their conversations off the game and they began writing one another through emails they shared their dreams their aspirations and

their deepest Secrets creating a bond they felt very safe and comfortable with it was a relief for Jennifer to be able to open up so honestly to someone she had never felt a Connection with someone like this in a very long time if ever being anonymous on the internet allowed her to open up in a way that was impossible for her to do in her everyday life and through these conversations Jennifer discovered a sense of Liberation that she never had before remember she had been with Bart for nearly a decade at this point she hadn't

experienced that much outside of her domestic duties and her unhealthy marriage with Chris there was this Weight that had been lifted off Jennifer's shoulders she felt a sense of validation for her feelings and her experiences and over time Chris revealed more and more about himself things that made Jennifer feel more drawn to him and over time in her vulnerable state she thought that she was falling in love and try your best not to judge her even if this is hard for you to understand Jennifer hadn't felt this way before and she made it clear to

Chris that she Wanted to take their connection offline and meet in real life but as excited as he seemed when he was online in his emails Chris told Jennifer he was apprehensive about going any further because in his words his head and his heart were pulling him in two different directions but Jennifer was not going to let him slip away their exchanges got more passionate starting with Jennifer sending Chris a message on September 21st it talked about how when she logged On that morning and saw his email it was thrilling that she loved to see

that it was from Christopher and not sir tank 1223 she didn't know which name she was more in love with at that point even telling Chris she loved him and over the course of the next few weeks Jennifer was adamant she wanted to leave Bart and Chris gave her advice telling her that maybe she should start keeping a journal to document everything and then put it in in a safe place Jennifer truly felt Like she was in love and the pair were exchanging as many as 100 emails per day Jennifer finally found someone who treated

her with respect and she dreamed about a day when she could actually be physically close to Chris and soon the emails took an x-rated turn it would be today's equivalent to sexting things that I cannot read here but passionate sexual exchanges about what they wanted to do to one another highlighting their explicit desires and pushing boundaries Definitely very graphic in nature but then as investigators sifted through this they found one email that was very concerning there was a few exchanges in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving just weeks before Jennifer was found dead where the

emails between her and Chris became aggressive in a weird sexually aggressive way with violent fantasies being talked about and Chris said quote Jennifer H as aggressive as you are today would you take a revolver Type gun and load one bullet in it rotate the revolver place it to my forehead and pull the trigger as I orgasm do you have that in you Jennifer end quote how scary is that the investigators think that this is too coincidental and now their focus shifts to this Chris person because they have no idea who he is they don't know

where he lives or what intentions he had speaking with Jennifer this way they reach out to Jennifer's family and they Asked them if they have any idea who this Chris person is I already explained that Heather had warned Jennifer about talking to strangers online and she was concerned that this person could cause her harm but they still didn't think Chris had anything to do with her murder as a matter of fact Bart knew about Chris it may have been one of the reasons Jennifer was dead the family relayed information about a violent event that occurred

between Bart and Jennifer on Thanksgiving first they explained how Bart had been doing all he could to find incriminating things to use against Jennifer in court he consulted with a divorce attorney he wanted to know how much a divorce was going to cost him and the attorney apparently joked that Bart better be ready to whip out his checkbook Bart was consumed by a desperate quest to find information that would undermine Jennifer standing as a Parent he was determined to use any means to ensure that he received a favorable outcome in their divorce settlement especially when

it came to the finances Bart's actions were driven by a desire to protect his assets but at the same time he was recklessly spending money that he didn't have maybe so that he didn't have to give it to Jennifer he bought a brand new yellow Mustang he already had a GMC SI truck and as Thanksgiving approached Bart's efforts To uncover information that could benefit him intensified the couple had talked about divorce and Bart insisted they really needed to wait until after the holidays to finalize anything and this was most likely just to buy his time

to build a case against Jennifer at this point Bart was under considerable Financial pressure at his dental practice it was barely attracting patients he felt there was simply no way he was going to be able to afford a Divorce he was deeply concerned that if Jennifer were to file first she would end up taking everything the house the cars and most importantly the children Bart didn't care about his sons being around he wanted wanted to make sure he got custody of them because he didn't want to owe anything to Jennifer meanwhile Jennifer confided in her

mom that she already started taking steps to establish a new life for herself Dalton and Dylan without Bart Jennifer Disclosed to her mother that she had a secret credit card that had a $2,000 limit this amount was enough to cover any upfront cost for a modest and cozy little apartment or a small house that Jennifer could move in with with the boys she was excited about her new life and had already made plans to move on with someone else who investigators were assuming was Chris but on Thanksgiving November 25th of 2004 things escalated Heather was

hosting a dinner at her and Doug's house in Dawsonville and Jennifer's parents Narda and Max were going to be there as well as Jennifer's older sister and everyone's children so all the cousins were going to play there together Jennifer was driving Bart and the boys when her mom called and asked her if she could stop and get some items from the local grocery store before she got to Heathers Jennifer pulled in and she parked and ran into the store leaving Bart behind with the boys and While she was inside Bart took this opportunity to Rifle

through his wife's purse going through every pocket trying to find anything he could use as evidence against her and unfortunately he found what he was looking for in a moment that Jennifer needed Comfort she needed hope she needed something to be able to pull out and look at she printed out a poem and some emails that Chris had sent to her and she folded it up and put it into her purse for safekeeping it Gave her hope to carry on and now it was in Bart's hands he was reading through a number of conversations that

Jennifer thought would remain private and he was beyond livid when Jennifer returned to the car Bart was silent but she knew right away that something wasn't right that's when she noticed the contents of her purse were dumped out and the emails were in Bart's lap Jennifer was shocked and scared she continued to drive to her sisters as she and Bart just sat in Silence but she could feel his Fury she could tell that something was brewing as soon as they pulled up to Heather's Bart ran inside and began vomiting in the bathroom clearly overwhelmed by

what he had discovered after vomiting Bart emerged from the bathroom pale and in shock he sat in the corner of the house and refused to speak speak to anyone or participate in any of the festivities with the family Jennifer tried her best to enjoy their time as a family as the Kids were oblivious to what was going on as they played nicely with their cousins but around 600 p.m. Bart just got up abruptly and he told Jennifer it was time to leave then he just walked out the door and sat in the passenger side of

Jennifer's SUV waiting for her and I found it really odd that he expected his wife to drive I don't know I just hate driving and my husband offers every single time I just kind of felt like Jennifer was not only the chauffeur for The kids but she was also his chauffeur anyway once Jennifer said her Rush goodbyes to her family embarrassed that she had to leave so suddenly she got into the car and Bart wasted no time pulling out the emails he was waving them around as he berated her he was the one that had

been cheating physically cheating for years and controlling Jennifer's every choice but now he felt slighted and betrayed so he was the victim not that it was right that Jennifer was going behind his back but she really imagined that their marriage was over it had been crumbling for a very long time she repeatedly asked BART to please lower his voice in front of the boys but he refused he got louder and louder screaming in such Close Quarters and he was so loud that her family inside the house could hear him he demanded to know every detail

about who Chris was and whether she was having cyber sex with him him Jennifer again Told Bart not to talk about this in front of the children because they were scared when Jennifer began to drive off out of nowhere Bart punched her in her face making her almost swerve into oncoming traffic and right afterward he screamed I never hit you it's your word against mine but of course the boys had seen it they had seen everything but that didn't phase Bart he warned Jennifer that a court would never allow a minor child's words to be

used at to Trial poor Jennifer she drove home shocked in in physical and emotional pain and her boys were terrified as soon as they got home Bart hopped into his Mustang and he took off and Jennifer ran inside with the boys and called her sister immediately her parents were also on the line and they told her to drive back right now they told her to be careful make sure Bart wasn't following her take a different path and just get away while she could the boys were Hysterically crying Jennifer frantically explained what happened and she quickly

went inside packed her and the boy some items and packed up the car and as she was standing out in her driveway she noticed her neighbor Kelly KO standing outside Kelly shouted excitedly Happy Thanksgiving across the street to Jennifer in response Jennifer replied almost casually Happy Thanksgiving Kelly Bart just punched me in the face Kelly Was shocked by what Jennifer said she quickly ran over to help Jennifer ER and the boys get into their car after this Jennifer made her way back to her sister's house Dalton and Dylan who were in hysterics by this point

eventually calmed down and while on her way there she called Heather and while they were on the phone Heather's husband Doug got a call from Bart Bart told Doug manto man that whatever Jennifer was saying was a complete lie and he called her a Swword and a cheater and that he never hit her and even though Doug pretended to be on Bart's side he knew that this man had major issues for the rest of the evening Heather Jennifer her older sister and her parents sat and talked about everything trying to come up with a safe

plan for Jennifer and her boys this was on a whole new level because Bart had never gotten physical like this before the poor children were traumatized they were jumpy they were Clinging to their mother's side and while Jennifer was away Bart used this time to turn the entire house upside down looking for more proof that Jennifer was a terrible person and that he was this loving husband blindsided by her online Affair he took apart Jennifer's computer and he removed the hard drive and then he sent it to an expert to try to hack into her

emails and retrieve anything he could it was war he even found the journal that Chris Had suggested that she kept with all the issues about her marriage inside and the things that Bart had done to her he read through the entire thing Jennifer tried as she could to use some code words especially when it came to Chris so she only used his last name Hearn when she talked about him how he made her feel and her plans for the future Bart was now armed with more evidence to use against her and Jennifer was deeply worried

about this entire Situation she knew that Bart was attempting to paint her as a bad mother cuz he wanted to gain custody of their sons Bart's intentions were purely malicious he wanted to hurt Jennifer as much as he could to inflict as much pain as possible and she realized there was not going to be an easy way out of this marriage but she was determined to prioritize her and her son's well-being this Thanksgiving incident served as a breaking point for the couple leading BART to ultimately retain an attorney and prepare to file for divorce several

days later on November 29th before Jennifer could file herself he had to be first in his divorce petition Bart wanted his attorney to make demands for the house the furniture full custody of the boys and for Jennifer to pay for his attorney's fees he planned to file a restraining order against her as well saying that he was concerned for his safety and wellbeing Bart expressed in The documents that he was willing to split their debt that they had accumulated during their marriage but he insisted that Jennifer owed a major portion of it I find that

hard to believe when he's buying Mustangs but he also liquidated Jennifer's bank account his bank account and he even got a cash advance on his credit card card and he began planning a future without his wife even calling the husbands of all Jennifer's friends to give them his side Of the story he told Steve KO and his brothers that he had proofed that Jennifer was cheating and he was pissed that somehow she was able to delete all of her emails that she exchanged with her lover so he couldn't use them against her in court he

only had that printed one but that was proof enough as far as he was concerned but Jennifer had already been explaining everything to Kelly her best friend she had already witnessed a lot and she knew that the Internet relationship wasn't anything serious she never even met that person it was just something she used as an escape but there was more to the story of Chris and Jennifer things that no one knew about Jennifer had deleted all of those emails but the investigators were able to retrieve them and they uncovered a bombshell Chris was not who

he said he was and I know that this case keeps getting deeper and deeper and more twisted and convoluted and I couldn't Even believe what they found right before Thanksgiving Jennifer had been pressuring Chris to send photos to prove to her that he was who he said he was and she was insisting that they at least talk on the phone or meet in person since Jennifer had gotten to the point where she was considering being with Chris when her divorce from Bart was finalized but all of a sudden Chris became distant he refused to do

any of those things to help Jennifer feel more Secure in their relationship no matter how much Jennifer begged him and finally Jennifer wrote an email that said quote I feel that You' have come to know me better than anyone in my life that I can tell you all of my thoughts and secrets and I'm safe with you I feel so safe when I'm with you and yet I've never laid my eyes on you oh Chris don't you know how much we need to be able to see into each other's eyes to hold that moment and

just look into each other's Souls I hear you say my name every time you type out Jennifer it's in your voice and I hear your laughter every time you tell me to shut up damn I want to know how it really sounds Chris the little things you do and say the Rose from your emails the rose you gave me the other night on Whiz and down to the Horn of Sorrow that I didn't even remember me telling you I wanted one how in passing I told you my sister was a Scorpio and you were able

to recall that and throw It back into our conversation a couple days later and all because I know you love me and it matters damn there are other things you do and say to me that touch my heart every day I love you Chris end quote the response that Jennifer got was not what she was expecting she had been catfished and it makes me so sad for her and it makes me so angry that people do this it's infuriating Chris was not a man at all he was a she Anita Hearn she lived out In

Missouri and was married with kids of her own and she too had been using EverQuest as an escape from her own problems she said she was so sorry for lying to Jennifer but I truly don't think she understood the damage that she had done poor Jennifer can you imagine the shock that she felt when she opened up that email expecting a love letter back but getting this admission with Anita even insisting that Jennifer accept her as a bisexual woman and Continue their relationship when Jennifer read all this she was so shocked that she spent the

rest of the night Crying by herself everything was falling apart and now the future that she planned with Chris would never exist he wasn't even real and if you have never been catfished cuz it's happened to me it is so devastating you would know if you're in a situation like this and you have been it's just unbelievable Jennifer was risking so much thinking That she was with this new man who would be there to protect her if she was ever in danger and Bart was determined to make her life miserable and this was all for

nothing all those conversations all of those feelings meant nothing around 6:00 a.m. the next morning Jennifer was finally able to think straight enough to respond to Chris who is really Anita and the subject line of the email just said the f word Jennifer wrote quote I can't take this I even fell in love with the Name Chris I can't take it I feel in Love Anita I just don't know how you could do this to me I trusted you with everything in me end quote two hours went by with no response and Jennifer wrote to

Anita again the subject line of this email was just a question mark and she said quote Chris Crystal Christine whoever don't you know how many times I've searched for your face in a crowd how I've stared at Men's bodies and tried to visualize what yours look like How many times I've heard you say my name and how many times I felt you pressed against my body how many times I've made love to you in my head and it was all lies damn you can't live this lie it's killing me I haven't slept yet I can

barely keep myself from breaking down in front of my kids end quote now I know there can be some judgment put on Jennifer in this instance I mean she had never seen this person so how did she expect to believe they were who they Said they were I mean her sister even warned her that she needed to get pictures and see them right away and now with online dating it is a lot different because yes somebody could be using someone else's photos but at least we have Google reverse image search or you can immediately FaceTime

with someone there weren't as many options back then and I truly do feel bad for Jennifer I know there are many people that are going to say things like serves you Right you should have known better what were you thinking how could you really thought this was real but you also have to remember that Jennifer was in a vulnerable state of mind she was is clinging on to something that made her feel safe and now she's realizing it never was truly there it slipped right through her fingertips she was all alone and now she was

dead I usually don't break my cases up into two parts cuz I know you like de Dives and this could Have been probably a 3 and 1/2 hour video but unfortunately because of what I know happens in this case I don't think it would be fair to the people in this story if I did not give them my full attention and do two videos I hope that you will come back because I am breaking this into two parts also I'm going to put the video up here on the screen in a little square so you
