We are living in an extraordinary moment in human history. Around the world, strange events, new technologies, and shifting moral landscapes are converging to shape what many recognize as an age of great deception. As believers, we must be vigilant, grounded, and unwavering in our commitment to Jesus Christ.
For this is a godless generation, a generation drifting from the eternal truths of God and entangling itself in lies and false promises. Never before has the call to stand firm in Christ been more urgent and necessary. One of the most striking examples of this deception comes from the rapid rise of artificial intelligence.
Bill Gates, one of the most influential figures of our time, recently said, "The potential positive path of AI is so good that it will force us to rethink how should we use our time. You can almost call it a new religion or a new philosophy. " The potential positive path is so good that it will force us to rethink how should we use our time.
You know, you can almost call it a new religion or a new philosophy of, okay, how do we stay connected with each other, not addicted to these things that'll make video games look like uh nothing in terms of the attractiveness of of spending time on them. Let that sink in. A new religion.
This is no small statement. It signals the emergence of a cultural shift where human beings hungry for purpose, meaning and power are willing to replace God with the creations of their own hands. Know Gutenberg printed the Bible in the middle of the 15th century.
The the the printing press printed as many copies of the Bible as Gutenberg instructed it, but it did not create a single new page. It had no ideas of its own about the Bible. Is it good?
Is it bad? How to interpret this? How to interpret that?
Um, AI can create new ideas, can even write a new Bible. They trust in machines, in systems, in humanmade intelligence, believing these will solve humanity's problems while they turn their backs on the creator who made them. But the Bible warns us about such times.
In 2 Timothy 3:es 1:5, Paul writes, "But mark this, there will be terrible times. In the last days, people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying its power. have nothing to do with such people.
We see this vividly today. Technology is not just a tool. For many, it is becoming an idol.
People turn to AI, to algorithms, to their devices, hoping they will answer the deepest questions of life. But they forget the warning of Psalm 115:es 4 to8. But their idols are silver and gold made by human hands.
They have mouths but cannot speak, eyes but cannot see. They have ears but cannot hear, noses but cannot smell. They have hands but cannot feel, feet but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them. Yuval Noah Harrari, another major voice in shaping global thinking, recently said, "For thousands of years, religions dreamed about having a book written by a superhuman intelligence, by a nonhuman entity. In a few years, there might be religions that are actually correct, that yes, there is an intelligence far beyond humans that wrote a book and we can consult it.
" But of course that's not God. That's just AI. We, you know, throughout history, religions dreamt about having a book written by a superhuman intelligence, by a non-human entity.
Every religion claims our book, all the other books of the other religions, they humans wrote them. But our book, no, no, no, no, no. It came from some superhuman intelligence.
In a few years, there might be religions that are actually correct. That just think about a religion whose holy book is written by an AI. This is the arrogance of a godless generation believing that they can recreate God's wisdom through machines.
This is a dangerous deception. It feeds the pride of humanity, making people believe that they can bypass God, that they can replace the creator with the created, that they can achieve salvation, knowledge, and transcendence without the cross. But no machine, no algorithm, no artificial system will ever replace the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Jesus Christ is Lord yesterday, today, and forever. We must stand firm in this time of deception. Joshua 24:15 declares, "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors serve beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. This is our rallying cry. In a world where the gods of technology, pleasure, fame, and materialism scream for our attention, we must make our stand.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. This is not a casual commitment. It is a firm, deliberate choice.
It is a line in the sand. This is a godless generation. We see it in how easily people mock God, deny his word, and celebrate sin.
Isaiah 5:20 warns, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. This generation celebrates what God calls sin and condemns what God calls righteous. " Sexual immorality is celebrated.
Greed is glorified. selfishness is encouraged. The fear of the Lord has been forgotten.
Consider the younger generation raised on social media, taught by the world to pursue likes and followers over truth, to embrace identity without responsibility, to live for the now without thought of eternity. We live in a world where truth is considered relative, where feelings override facts, and where the God of the Bible is treated as an outdated myth. This is a godless generation.
But you, dear believer, must not conform. Romans 12:2 urges us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. " We are called to live differently, to shine as lights in the darkness.
Philippians 2:15 says, "Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. " This age of deception will only grow darker. Jesus warned in Matthew 24:24, "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
Deception will intensify and it will be so compelling that even Christians will be tempted to waver. But we must stand on the unshakable rock of God's truth. Let me encourage you.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. This is not just about your personal life. It is about your family, your home, your legacy.
Fathers, lead your families in prayer. Mothers, guide your children in the word. Teach them to love Jesus, to resist the lies of the world, to know the truth of scripture.
Speak the word over your household. Put scripture on your walls. Pray together, eat together, worship together, build a house on the rock, not on the shifting sands of culture.
You do not have to walk in fear. While the world trembles at economic collapse, environmental disasters, and technological change, you can rest in the promises of God. Psalm 46:es 1 and 2 says, "God is our refuge and strength and everpresent help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. We need to raise up a generation that knows the Lord. Judges 2:10 gives us a somber warning.
After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel. That is what we see today. a generation who neither knows the Lord nor remembers his mighty works.
But we can change that starting in our homes, in our churches, and in our communities. We must remember that Jesus has already won the victory. Colossians 2:15 says, "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
" No matter how powerful the forces of deception seem, they're defeated foes. Christ is Lord. So, what can we do in this age of deception?
First, stay grounded in scripture. Psalm 119:15 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. " Do not rely on the wisdom of the world.
Do not trust in men, governments, or media outlets. Politicians will promise you change, but they cannot change the human heart. Governments will promise you safety, but they cannot guarantee your eternity.
News outlets will promise you truth, but they twist and turn narratives to fit agendas. Celebrities will offer opinions, but they are not your moral guide. Your hope must never be in the headlines, the news feeds, the political speeches, or the promises of men.
Trust in your Bible. Only the word of God stands forever. Anchor yourself in God's word every day.
Read it. Meditate on it. Memorize it.
Let the word shape your thinking and your responses. When the world says follow us, open your Bible and ask, "What does God say? " When fear rises, open your Bible and be reminded that God is your refuge.
When confusion strikes, open your Bible and find clarity in his promises. The Bible is not just a book. It is your spiritual lifeline, your compass, your anchor in the storm.
Everything else can be shaken, but God's word will stand firm. Finally, trust God's sovereignty. None of these events surprise him.
Isaiah 46:10 says, "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say my purpose will stand and I will do all that I please. " God is in control.
He is not ringing his hands in heaven. He reigns. We may live in a godless generation, but we serve the living God.
We may walk through a time of great deception, but we follow the one who is the way, the truth, and the life. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Let this be your declaration today.
Let it shape your choices, your relationships, your priorities. Let it give you courage when the world mocks your faith. Let it give you hope when the news seems dark.
You belong to Jesus. You are his and he will never leave you or forsake you. Take heart, dear believer.
The age of great deception is coming. But greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Amen. May your home be a lighthouse of truth, a fortress of faith, and a living testimony that no matter what the world says, you will stand for Jesus until the very end.
