Okay, so I had so much fear and anxiety in my body that it often felt like my nervous system was being permanently electrocuted. Now, I'm not saying that I never experience a tinge of fear or stress anymore. Of course, I'm still human.
The adrenaline and nervous system can activate a little here and there, but the difference compared to before is quite frankly night and day. So, this is why I know how to heal and release fear and anxiety. This is why I know exactly what works and what doesn't.
Because I've experienced the most extreme forms of it myself. Because I've had the most profound releases from the body that have made my body and mind feel completely and utterly different. So, in this video, I'm going to tell you exactly what happened and exactly how to do it yourself.
So, if you experience fear and anxiety and you realize like I did how much it's been holding you back from, this video could change your entire life. But, you're going to have to hold your attention for a moment. We all know our attention spans are completely ruined these days.
And those of us with anxiety and disregulated nervous systems can get even more easily distracted. But I want you to hold your attention for a moment so you can actually get the life-changing benefits and no longer be doomed to suffer a life on edge where fear and anxiety hold you back from everything you want to do. Because there's a reason why I'm not diving straight into the process this very second.
There's a reason why I'm giving you a little bit more about my story first so you have the full context to fully understand and apply everything. Because before my body would feel almost constantly uncomfortable. A constant feeling of being on edge, feeling that any moment something could go horribly wrong.
Even if on the surface everything wasn't that bad, just thinking about checking my bank account app on my phone would send shock waves through my nervous system. Just thinking about how any second my girlfriend could leave me and what would that mean for me would have me acting out all kinds of strange attachment behaviors like sending three page long texts to try and control things. Now, don't get me started on when we used to run club nights uh with my girlfriend in Bristol.
It was all exciting on the runup, booking the artists, getting everything ready, but as soon as the night came and we opened the doors, my heart would reach drum and bass tempo within a millisecond and not stop for a long time. Uh, were we going to get enough people or would it be a dead out? And would we lose loads of money and put a strain on our relationship?
Now, please never ever do what I'm about to tell you. It's dangerous. One night I took 50 mg of Valium in one go and still had a panic attack an hour later sitting on the door.
Incredibly reckless idea, I know. So I tried the drugs, both pharmaceutical and plant-based and psychedelic. I tried the deep breathing, meditating every day, used to lay in a float tank regularly.
I tried talking type therapies, uni alternative therapies, bioenergetic shaking, jumping up and down to try and get this out of my body. I laid on the floor for hours at a time doing TR and letting my legs shake all over the place. I tried staying extremely present, reprogramming my mind with positive affirmations.
I walked barefoot outside on the grass. Took most of the processed food out of my diet, did breath work, 10-minute sessions, 1-hour trauma release breath works, ice baths, cold showers every single day. And many of these things helped, some to a lesser and greater extent.
And I still do some of these things today for their profound benefits in many areas. And many of them would reduce the stress a little bit for a while and make me more energized and focused for the day. But nothing seemed to permanently sustainably shift this feeling of fear no matter what I did.
At one point, I thought I was doomed to be stuck with it forever. That was until I discovered these two simple things that unlocked the release of fear from my body. I realized that these new processes I was doing were not only giving me temporary relief but lasting change.
I was seeing that over the following days the fears weren't coming back as intensely as before. My body was getting progressively less painful and progressively more comfortable. And I could feel profound physical relaxation in the body and feel the nervous system unwinding and huge layers of tension just dropping out of my body on their own like a massage therapist was working out all the knots.
Except there was no massage therapist. And so so strangely I seem to be making the knots pop open with my consciousness. The first thing was that I discovered my true nature as indestructible awareness.
Or more accurately, I remembered. I was first introduced to Alan Watts, then Echart Tull, then I went down the non-duality YouTube rabbit hole. And this wasn't just a belief.
It wasn't just some fluffy concept to hold on to to make myself feel better. I could see experientially that nothing in the world of form, no sensation however strong, no thought however chaotic, no sensation of dizziness, spinning, no situation whatsoever could touch my true nature, this awareness. Now this didn't get rid of the fear from the body all at once.
That came with the next thing. The sensations were still there and the sensations would sometimes still trigger all kinds of worrying, anxious thought activity, but I realized that ultimately the thoughts aren't me. Even if sometimes they caught my attention and for a moment I'd really believe them.
I always knew deep down from that point onwards I am the awareness. I am ultimately safe. didn't mean that all the physical or mental fear was instantly gone, but it removed the fear of the fear and it set up the perfect foundation for the healing and releasing because this is the first thing you have to have in place.
You need to establish safety. There's a saying, you got to feel it to heal it, but you're not going to be able to feel it if you don't know that you are safe to feel it. This is why good therapists and healers when they begin working with someone are focused on first establishing safety.
They want to know that what you that you can stay within your window of tolerance. That is how much you can feel and experience without feeling overwhelmed and unsafe. The idea is to stay within that window of tolerance.
So old feelings and emotions can be brought safely to the light of consciousness within that window because this is where they can be healed and released. Feelings that are fully felt in the context of safety in conscious awareness are dissolved and released. This is why good healers want you to increase your window of tolerance through resources of inner safety so you can consciously feel more and heal more.
These resources of safety come from many different places for many people. Being in a safe private space, imagining a calming place, having a good friend to call or a spiritual philosophy that connects you to peace and calm. But I found that the ultimate resource of safety comes from the recognition of our true nature as awareness.
Our bodies and minds are inherently a temporary phenomena subject to decay and dissolution. Who we truly are. This awareness is everpresent, indestructible and eternal.
You find this out by noticing and recognizing yourself as this presence of awareness in which everything appears. Right now, let me ask you, are you aware? Notice this presence of awareness before all the thinking.
Notice this simple presence of being. Notice yourself as this space of awareness in which everything appears in which sights are appearing, sounds, physical sensations and thoughts all just effortlessly appearing. Now, let me ask you, in your experience right now, not from what I've said, not from books or teachers you've listened to, but in your direct reality, when you look at it now, notice the strongest physical sensation appearing to come from inside your body right now.
Ask yourself, are you safe to experience that sensation? Has any sensation, any thought, any perception, however uncomfortable or intense, have they ever harmed this awareness? Ever harmed or stained this awareness, the real you?
confirm in your direct reality that no form can harm the formlessness. Just like no content on a movie screen can harm the screen and you are that screen, this screen of awareness. Once you have fully established this, you have set up the perfect foundation for healing and releasing the fear.
Now, the fear is primarily experienced as a bodily experience. This means that it's primarily experienced as what they call sematic sensation. This means the feeling of the body, the physically felt sensations.
Yes, there are thought components to fear. But the biggest component of this is what's happening in the emotional energy field and the nervous system. Probably the biggest misnomer in the world of spirituality is that thoughts create your feelings.
Think good thoughts and you'll feel good. This doesn't make any sense even from a biological point of view. Yes, thoughts affect how you feel.
There is some top-down flow from the prefrontal cortex related to thinking, the lyic and nervous system related to how you feel. But more research is showing the stronger influence is from the bottom up. The limbic and nervous system are a much more ancient part of the body.
The feelings are driving the thinking. Calm body, calm nervous system, calm mind. So, if you've been trying to heal anxiety for years by just thinking or talking about it and you haven't had very long where you're actually feeling the raw sensations, then no wonder it hasn't shifted.
Even if you've tried physical methods or even psychedelics, and even if they help a bit, if you haven't fully felt, that's why it's not fully healing. When you don't automatically believe your thoughts, when you know yourself as awareness, you are safe to feel. You are safe.
Right now, I want you to return to that recognition of awareness. Simply notice that you are aware. Notice yourself.
Awareness has this wide open space in which everything's appearing. Now notice the most profound sensation, pronounced sensation. Again, get underneath the labels of tightness or contraction.
Simply experience the raw physically felt sensation. It may be uncomfortable, but it can't harm you. Now, if you feel safe to do so, can you allow the sensation to be there?
Can you even welcome it? Can you notice that you are this space of awareness that allows it to be here and that you don't need to do anything to allow it? All you have to do is be and watch it and feel it.
Can you welcome it by being in the spirit of openness? Can you allow yourself to feel it more intensely knowing that it might get more uncomfortable, but it can't harm you? Just keep feeling it.
Keep watching it completely objectively. If any thoughts are present, simply allow them to be here. Simply be the allowing space that allows all the thoughts to come and go.
They might seem dark, like a dark story podcast playing in the background. But notice they appear and disappear without a trace. Don't believe them.
Just see them as a podcast playing away or like a movie going by and feel. After a while, you may notice the sensation change. It might intensify, expand, move through the body, soften, or even dissolve.
You may feel muscle twitches, muscle relaxation, emotional release, or other sematic sensations. This is obviously a very quick process for this video, and yes, other elements like talking, breathing, or other elements can help. When I work with people, I guide them through a whole nuanced process.
But I'm telling you recognizing and resting as awareness resting is this as this existential safety fully feeling the sematic sensations this was the main thing that shifted everything this almost seemed to completely cure the constant anxiety and I'll be honest for me it took me many hours to burn through a big chunk of it but your journey may not be anything like mine there's no rules but my body and mind was so bound up There was so much emotional pain and anxiety and trauma. I needed many hours just being and feeling. At first, it seemed like it was all just more of the same.
But after a short while, I realized I started to feel permanently better. New layers would come up related to different things. I cleared huge fears around relationships, felt calm and confident there, yet still had huge fears around money and then had to work on that, too.
So each area of your life, each situation, each situation, each trigger has a specific stuck energy related to it. What I did to clear the specific fears was in meditation process. I imagined specific things that would trigger the fear, the money, the health, the relationships.
So step by step, I would go there with my attention, with my imagination, almost using it like a tool to dig up the fear and coax out the energy and sensations and feel them non-judgmentally, objectively. This changed absolutely everything. I hope you got a lot of benefit out of this video and I wish for you to apply this, really apply this in your own life so that you know it actually works and you actually get the relief you've been looking for because I know what it's like.
