Hey Creators! Let’s dive into this month’s Roundup! We’re giving more creators access to Communities, a new, dedicated space on your channel for you and your viewers to have conversations, share updates, and build relationships.
Communities are currently available on mobile. Creators invited to enable their Communities will receive notifications via email and in a banner displayed on their channel pages on mobile. Invited creators can then go to their channel pages and tap "Go to Community” to learn more and decide if they want to turn on their Communities.
Note that if you choose to enable it, you’ll have the ability to moderate and control who posts in your Community. To help make things clear with this new feature, we’re also giving the Community tab a new name: Posts. This tab will work just as it does today, just with a new name.
Creators can still share updates and announcements via posts and viewers can engage by commenting on those posts like they always have! For more info on these updates, check out the links in the description. You can now create or upload Shorts up to 3 minutes long!
Upload your longer clips from your camera roll, or, from the Shorts camera, tap the timer in the upper right corner to try it out! We recently rolled out Super Chat Goals, which help encourage fan engagement and build community during your live streams and premieres! You can create a goal on mobile or desktop from live chat by choosing “Goal.
” Choose the goal amount, Super Chat color, goal duration, and share how you're going to celebrate your goal. Once you’re done, hit ‘Start Goal. ’ We hope these help you create more engaging streams and provide a more interactive experience for your viewers!
We rolled out the Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio, which can help kick-start your creative process with AI suggestions. To get started, head to YouTube Studio on desktop, then the Content page, then “Inspiration. ” You can browse content ideas or generate outlines, titles, and thumbnails.
For more info on availability, check out our full video linked in the description. iOS users! You can now create voiceover tracks for your Shorts using the Text-to-Speech tool!
Once you finish recording your Short, tap the Text icon to add text to your video. After you type out your text, select the voice options icon in the upper left corner to choose which voice you want to use. You can edit the timing of the text by tapping it and selecting “Timing.
