in this video we'll go through a quick five minute setup so you can download and import the volatility box in your thinkorswim platform now this is the second video in our onboarding guide and it should take about five minutes give or take to go through this entire setup now first things first go ahead and log into the volatility box platform you can find the login page by just simply going to volatility box dot com slash login there go ahead and use the email address that you used when signing up along with your password if you're
a bundle subscriber then you can use the same information that you use on the tos indicators website now once you log in the platform will automatically take you to the home page the home page gives you useful information for every single day's volatility during the real-time hours this table right here will update as well with the most recent trades now to go ahead and download the indicator click the indicator page on the left hand sides menu once you click the indicator page you'll then be taken to our indicator generator here you'll find two different boxes
at the top a green box with pre-generated indicator files four in particular for about 116 different stocks we look at and down here you'll find our custom indicator generator if you'd like to build your own indicator files for custom watch list any other stocks that appear on our live scanner things of that nature now for the time being let's go ahead and download the pre-generated indicator files once you click this big green button you'll download a zip folder onto your computer locate where you download this folder right click that zipped folder and then click extract
all to go ahead and unzip the folder i leave the destination as is and then click the extract button and this will then create a second folder that's now unzipped with the indicator files inside of it now there's four indicator files inside of this folder along with one pdf which goes through the entire symbol list let me show you the symbols that are included in these files if i come back to our powerpoint slide here's a list of every single symbol inside of that file it's most of the liquid names things like the major index
etfs major sector etfs and their top holdings i've also included a list of some random other fairly liquid or well-traded stocks you have things like starbucks amazon teslas you have most common names that i think you'd be looking at now once you have these indicator files we can go ahead and import them into thinkorswim by coming into our tos platform and here click the studies icon then click import and once you click import you can then navigate to the folder where you unzipped those indicator files you'll notice the extension here is study.ts with study and
capital letters that's the thinkorswim extension format for all indicator files now the four files here are two vbh files which are our hourly models for all of those 116 stocks i just showed you both the aggressive and the conservative models along with daily models for both the aggressive and conservative for all 116 tickers in the next video you'll learn what each one of these models means and what the difference is between the hourly and the daily but for the time being know that you should import all four of these indicator files and then click open
now in this prompt if this is your second week onwards make sure you select yes here this will automatically overwrite the previous week's indicator study so you don't need to do anything else with updating your study sets your styles anything else that you configure now that's it you've imported the new weekly update for the volatility box models for those 116 tickers we can see that on our charts by loading in the vbh files we just imported i'll load in the aggressive and the conservative models and i'm currently on a chart of costco which is supported
by those pre-generated indicator files once i click ok we can see the volatility box models now plotting on the chart of costco i hope through this quick five-minute guide you're able to learn how to download the pre-generated indicator files see a full list of the symbols inside of those files along with understand how to import indicators into thinkorswim which is a process you can use when generating your own indicator files as well whether it be through the indicator generator or using each week's update through our pre-generated files in the next video we'll walk through the
differences between the hourly and the daily volatility box models along with aggressive versus conservative see you then
