don't let your past impact your future and what I mean by that is that often we let our you know memory of our past or our previous experiences impact how we navigate our futures and how we never get the present even I feel like lives are too often lived within you know a memory within an experience that has already passed within emotions that have already passed reliving the experience and compounding upon who we are internalizing it and making into part of our identity and in that compart of my compartmentalizing in that realization that you're allowing
things that passed you or things you've grown from or things you've overcome to impact who you are today you have to start you know living in the present and I'll talk about the present moment all the time because that's where I feel like you really have any control or any ability to change who you are how you react and how your life actually plays out it's not so much an easy task it's not always easy to do some people use meditation some people use other stuff but at the end of the day the more we
allow our past to govern our future the more it's going to be more like our past you know if we keep living in that memory we're going to keep repeating the same Cycles we're going to keep going through the same experience maybe in different fonts and uh living the same lives we've always lived insanely living the you know making the mistake over and over again hoping that you know this outcome is going to be different to get something you never got you have to do something you've never done nothing changes if nothing changes you know
so what's really important here is is realizing you know yourself realizing how much you've grown in how you want to be because how you want to be isn't necessarily uh stringent on your past as it is you know in relation to your present I feel like there is no past self to overcome at most times it's more so a past memory to overcome a past mindset to overcome it's a the relation to the past that that needs to be overcome not the past self cuz there is no past self there only is the now which
is why I feel like in ways the concept of time kind of limits our way of expression and our way of growth I said time doesn't exist but growth does and what I mean by that is you know the more we try to associate with time the more we get stuck up on like the system like one year one year one year the more we start to think that you know there are Stark differences between this and that but it's always a gradual change you know there's points and instantiations of change and growth experiences that
you undergo that make turn turn you into a different person may make you learn something but overall it's a gradual learning it's an appreciation of of that gradual learning that allows you to be in the present you can't learn you can't you know learn new things if you're not doing new things if you're not experiencing new things and I don't necessarily mean like go out there travel the world if you don't have no money do random stuff I mean be present enough with yourself to make small choices you know like for me those small choices
was like figure out like ways of expression that I like and want to you know continue to BR like I write I love writing I started getting into poetry maybe something else I'm not going to say what it is yeah I'm going get keep it but um in general it's about understanding how you know you've learned and how you learn about yourself you know I feel like you can learn about yourself in the present moment more than you can learn about yourself and a memory of the past you have to analyze that past you have
to think about it it's a conscious thing when you're doing stuff in the present you're just like oh I like doing this so you keep funling into that thing or I like thrifting or I like playing this instrument this this stuff makes me happen or I like hanging out with this person I'm going to keep doing it you know it's about how things relate to you and appreciating being grateful for how things make you feel good and bad cuz regard is teaching you about yourself it's about cultivating a mindset uh strong enough to endure uh
the ideas that plague the modern day I feel like negativity is a super prevalent thing you know there's hater culture which is I find funny sometimes but in general one person you should never hate on is yourself I feel like our expression our personality our character is something that we should truly appreciate just for being ourselves you know sometimes it's not easy to be yourself sometimes it's not easy to just express yourself in ways that you know are atypical for you so any instantiation of your expression of your life you know of your love affection
care is worth gold you know like I feel like it's a Priceless thing to know yourself it's a Priceless thing to be present enough to learn to go through things into get to that um with with saying that I mean like recently I've been trying to be more intentional like this whole year I've been thinking that oh intention intention is really all it is and it's true intentional enough to take action like waking up at that that hour just to have an hour for yourself just to just to get into your day and exercise your
freedom in a world of captivity in a way you know there's a lot of stuff in this world that kind of beckons your attention beckons your your focus a lot of us work a lot of us go to school and I feel like a lot of times people don't take the time for themselves and which is why I feel like the past gets so held on to sometimes because we don't understand what we have until we lose it you know it's about appreciating it now so we can cultivate even more memories and instead of being
worried about it instead of being sad about the memory you have it's a about being happy that it happened I had to fix that in my head a while back cuz I getting super nostalgic as all of us do you know you're up at 3:00 a.m. you see a old you see a Tik Tok or something that reminds you of a a game you used to play when you little kid and you remember how Carefree life was D this this and that and a lot of people are always like oh man like time flew by
I'm so old D this this that and it's not about so much you know being old as it is realizing you you're just different you've grown from there and those parts of you that were there are still inside of you you know I feel like that doesn't change it's you we view ourselves is too much of a I feel like the self is too blocky instead of you know like growing the self we think we're changing selves in a way I feel like that dichotomy just makes us unable to you know exist in a comfort
with ourselves cuz it's like oh I was this way and when I start doing stuff that was characteristic of that oh what am I doing oh I'm regressing oh I'm doing this but in reality you know if it's negative maybe you're regressing maybe that's a regression thing but if it's not if it's just a way you used to like doing something just appreciate that you're doing it appreciate to be grateful that you're able to still feel those feelings from that certain stimulus you know a lot of times in life we have to abandon the things
in life that used to make us happy like I used to p on a Nintendo DS all the time if I played it right now I doubt I'd have as much as fun fun I used to but like knowing that I used to have that much fun it makes me grateful for those experiences it makes me happy and I realize that once you start being grateful for just those types of small things you know being present enough to have gratitude being grateful to be in the present moment being grateful to have the time to change
to experience you start being grateful for a lot more and there's more things to be grateful for coming into your life like you you'll have an experience with your friend you'll have an experience with some colleagues and you'll just be like like just to be able to do this to be able to express my to be able to be happy in this moment to able to feel this in this moment is is bliss in itself like you know I would I don't even know if I would consider this a spiritual Channel or like a the
philosophy General it's kind of an amalgamation of both but even in like a purely philosophical way you know what you give attention to is what ends up being cultivated into your life and not in a way that like is just attracted into it just what you focus on you tend to get better at focusing on the Mind finds what it needs to you know if you look for problems you're probably always going to find when you look for negativity you're probably always going to find it you take no risk in looking for positivity and instantiating
positivity within your own life I'm not saying be overly optimistic to the point you're faulted I'm saying be optimistic in the sense that you can always get better I look at myself in the mirror I was like dang if I really start working out like I'll be even greater it's about making sure your first thought isn't based in negativity oh if I do this I'll be great then no I'll be greater then you know instantiating that love with yourself now positing the affirmation that you need from the world the affirmation that you probably needed in
the past and giving it to yourself now so you're not looking towards the past and future worried and or stressed and or disappointed it's about not allowing your past to get in the way of your future
