[Music] so [Music] hey everyone and welcome back to my channel today we're going to be diy we're going to be crafting and we're going to be making these beautiful little dried flower arrangements that just so happen to scent your home i really like this concept in general because there are parts of my house that are really dark that i can't put flowers in and that's just a shame so the idea of putting these little dried arrangements in those spaces to make everything come to life is a really fun idea for me so the first thing
we're going to need is something to put these flowers in and for that i went to the thrift store and i purchased some cheap little um bottles vessels whatever you want to call it because they're kind of like different shapes look for different shapes and colors just make sure that you're looking for a smaller bottle top this one's actually really good for it that way the oil diffuses as slowly as possible and that will kind of make the scent not as strong but also make it last a bit longer i don't know what people used
this for previous to this moment in time but i'm glad that i can be of assistance and use it today the only thing i will tell you is so a lot of the ones that i picked were colored but there's a couple of them that i actually had already that are not so these ones are really beautiful jars they're very like clean looking however i would not use a clear container if you're gonna be putting this in natural sunlight just because sunlight can actually make essential oil and oil in general break down very quickly so
you're gonna lose the quality of the scent as well as you know you're gonna probably make the oil go rancid quicker which rancid is a horrific word and i'm so sorry that i used it okay so the next thing you're going to need is some reed diffuser sticks i've chosen to go for different types of colors and i'm going to theme each arrangement around the stick color you can choose whatever these are super cheap if you want to spice it up just a little bit i am really into using these diffuser flowers these ones are
a little bit harder to find you can find it off of most retailers however i have seen that home goods and other sorts of like crafting stores it's kind of foamy at the very base of it i don't know if you can see and then the totality of it is a read stick so i'm not sure how it works but it's super adorable and i just think it kind of lends itself to a reed diffuser makes it look really cute we're also going to be using some dried flowers to combine the reed diffuser sticks with
the reed flowers and i actually picked mine up from a florist but you can either dry your own hand pick flowers dry some from the grocery store or you can do what i did and go to a florist the ones that i have actually really vibrantly colored so i like that they look kind of bright they do go with the the colored sticks that i've chosen so they're a little bit more themed which i think is kind of like funky and a little bit more of a modern take on an oil diffuser so these are
our nice little filler flowers that we're using another ingredient we're gonna need is of course the fragrance which we are using essential oils for essential oils so natural here's the thing essential oils can be very strong for both us as humans and as well as our pets so just be careful where you place these essential oil diffusers as well as how much oil you're using and what kinds of oil you're using because cats and dogs they're a little bit sensitive to different things so i'll put up lists i try to be a little bit careful
for like bergamot and citrus things for my cat i try to use a little bit less of those things as well as place them in very well ventilated areas and far away from her reach even still i don't want any sort of like essential oil like getting onto her skin her cleaning herself and gets sick so i do try to keep a really close eye and i actually will probably hide the essential oils that have any sort of citrus or anything dangerous to her just when i'm not home because i don't want her to be
around something that she could hurt herself with so just a little disclaimer i will put some lists below just be careful of essential oils and pets essentially so these little containers are not just filled up with straight-up essential oil they live in a carrier oil or something that's very mild and will evenly disperse the scent and the one that i'm using today is a sweet almond oil but i know jojoba and fraction coconut oil works as well i think grape seed oil is something that you can do too you just want something that is like
mild in both color and texture and scent so once we have all the oils mixed together we do need just a little bit of alcohol to combine everything together and to make it easily go up the reed and be able to scent your room so we i just bought this um i have no idea how to say that isopropyl isopropyl isobrome i i don't know alcohol i use alcohol that's 99 and just a very tiny little bit of this will combine everything together and make it evenly distribute to scent your room now that we have
all the things that we need here's what to do i'm going to make the scented oil first in a separate container just to be sure everything is mixed well since the tops of our vases are so small the basic recipe of a reed diffuser oil is a fourth cup of carrier oil about 30 drops of essential oil and a half teaspoon of rubbing alcohol for this diffuser in particular i wanted to look and smell warm and cozy for that i'm adding 10 drops of vanilla 10 drops of sweet tobacco and 5 drops of bergamot i
also added five drops of jasmine just for a little bit of dimension i added a little alcohol off camera too i love this combo it's sweet and warm and the floral notes are just perfect now i'm using a funnel to help me pour my oil mixture into the vase and i'm arranging a combination of the warm toned breed sticks some flowers and some additional dried fresh flowers for added texture it turned out really sweet this is probably my favorite one of the bunch i did end up making one for my kitchen which is not somewhere
my cat frequents so i did use 10 drops of lemon oil 10 drops of sandalwood five drops of geranium oil and five drops of the angling oil i'm not quite sure how to say that uh the scent was really light and fresh and it was perfect for a cooking area it does go in my cabinet though when i'm not home due to all of that lemon oil i did a more floral diffuser with this one with 10 drops of jasmine oil 10 drops of teak wood 5 drops of basil oil and 5 drops of bergamot
this one is very floral and perfumey even with that basil oil which could be nice for a dressing room or a powder room last but not least i did want something soothing for my bedroom so i wanted to base the scent off of my favorite sleepy time tea chamomile for this i used 10 drops of chamomile oil 10 drops of vanilla five drops of vetiver and five drops of sandalwood this is probably my second favorite you enjoyed this video today it was just crafting for adults which is honestly the dream i'm living the dream just
as a reminder you will get a couple of different diffusers this will last you for a very long time the diffusers will last about a month depending on the packaging whether it's clear or whether it is colored but you'll notice when it stops being scented anymore a way to kind of revive it is um every week i would flip the diffuser just so that it is getting evenly diffused into the room and yeah it should last you a little bit a while it should add scent to darker places of your house less inviting places of
your house like your bathroom my bedroom's really tiny and dark so it just makes it kind of like sweet and moody i guess if you guys have any essential oil blends that you enjoy for your diffusers i'd love to hear about them and if you did like this video please like comment and subscribe and i'll see you the next one thanks so much bye [Music] you
