send help. My husband and I moved into our first home as a married couple, [music] and let's just say it looks less like a home and more like a storage unit. Living like this has been making everything harder.
My productivity, my stress, even my sleep. So, I hired Be Organized and we have 24 hours to fix the whole place [music] because every extra hour costs money. Can we pull this off?
We've got a lot to tackle. So, let me give you a quick tour of the chaos. Starting with our kitchen, which is this way to the right.
In here, I have all of my supplements and vitamins, collagen, magnesium, all these vitamins, and I'm still iron deficient. A disaster. I was so overwhelmed unpacking.
I just threw things in random spots. Clearly, there's no system. It's looking a little chaotic in here, but the fridge and under the sink, that was all me.
And honestly, I'm kind of proud. Now, let's head to the master bathroom. I made sure there was enough room to shower, but everything else just got shoved into corners like a game of Tetris.
So, yeah, half functional, half storage unit, but the bathroom chaos is nothing compared to the closet, or at least what's supposed to be a closet. And in the bedroom, we basically have a storage closet 2. 0.
The main reason we moved was so that I could finally have an office. In our old place, Nick took the second bedroom as his office, but your girl needed one. the problem right now.
It's less like an office and more so looks a hot mess. So, this is the room I'm probably the most excited for. I ordered a desk.
She gets here tomorrow night. It's a oak beautiful desk. It's like a CEO executive level desk.
I'm thinking about getting like a white sofa couch that would go right here. And then something to get rid of this very unesthetic Wi-Fi box. [music] Then there's the closet.
My goal is to make this a proper production closet. As a content creator, I've got props, clothes, wires, mics, and in our last place, they lived in what we called the closet. Oh, what is a closet?
It's a magical place where all the stuff you buy and forget about lands. And then when you finally need it, it's gone. So you buy it again just to return it to the closet void.
And then the cycle repeats for eternity. I want this to be like a full content creator studio office paradise executive CEO level boss vibes. Babe, that's what we're going for.
I'm excited. >> Hello. >> Hello.
>> Welcome to the chaos. Well, thank you so much. >> So happy to be here.
>> Be Organized team is finally here. They've done hundreds of homes and now it's their turn to figure out mine. They're professional organizers who handle everything from decluttering to relocations.
But what really drew me in was Lisa, the headbe. Hearing her story and passion for helping people instantly clicked with me. And as a fellow entrepreneur, I knew I wanted to learn from her.
>> Kind of just go over what we're doing today. >> Yeah. So, basically, we just moved in and our place is a mess.
We have boxes everywhere. Things are unorganized. I think the room I'm most excited for is the office because that's basically why we moved here.
>> So, today we're kind of going to hit every area actually of the home, as you can see, the living room, the bedroom, and most importantly, the office. We're just so excited to be a part of it and help you. Let me show you guys what we're working with.
>> Absolutely. Let's go. >> Basically, with moving in, I was so overwhelmed.
So, I just threw everything everywhere. And so, it's a little chaotic at the moment. >> The key to really setting up a great home is making sure that everything that you're storing, you're going to be using on a daily basis.
Like, we would normally do cups by the fridge, plates by the stove. We usually do silverware by the dishwasher. So, [music] this is this is nothing.
You actually gave us a good start. [laughter] >> Amazing. >> Yeah.
So, I can see you have pretty deep cabinets, which makes it very challenging. [music] So implementing pull out drawers, lazy Susan can risers is going to be super super efficient in making sure everything stays [music] neat and tidy. >> And now the bedroom.
>> Okay, >> so the closet space might be the most chaotic. I would be lying if I said I wasn't wearing the same pair of workout leggings this week, but >> okay, >> we have a lot to do in here. >> We're going to be taking everything out of the closet and the bees will be putting everything on the bed.
Then it's just a matter of putting the systems in place, grouping everything by type, by color, um your husband's side, your side, the shoes, the purses. That way you can have eyes on absolutely every piece of everything you have going on right here. And I think we're going to have a lot of fun purging, too.
We're going to sit down. We're going to go through everything. Out with the old, in with the new.
>> Again, watch your step here. Okay. Okay.
Not trying to take any lives. I would love to say this looks like my Pinterest board, but it looks more cardboard than anything. >> By the end of this, it's going to look like a hotel room.
So refreshing. You're not even going to recognize this room. >> Five star.
>> Five star. Actually, six. [laughter] >> Yes.
>> The area of terror. I bring you all of my skin care and hair care products. >> Yes.
So, one way I've been trying to like increase my style, you know? So, I've purchased all this jewelry, but I just have no idea how to organize it or what to do with it. >> Okay.
So, a great jewelry box would be amazing. Um, we can display it here if if you'd like. We can do it on the shelf, whatever's best for you.
And sometimes we even do like your jewelry and your perfumes together. >> So, the room I'm the most excited for is my office, but right now it's looking less like an office and more like a storage unit. Yeah, I can see.
So, [laughter] >> the upcoming plan is um when all the bees come on the day of the project, it's going to be a divide and conquer. So, [music] with that divide and conquer process, we're able to get your whole entire home done in a day. It's going to be fabulous.
>> And that's when it hit me. This isn't just about organizing. It's a race against the clock.
If we can't pull this off in one day, the whole plan falls apart. First stop on our tour, I'm actually looking for office furniture before we start getting into organizational supplies. We're at Rooms to Go Outlet.
I've never been here before, but I heard it has some good stuff on a discount. Love me a good little discount. I could see something like this going in my office.
[music] It's going for 328, which isn't bad. I want to know what my desk is going to look like first, though. Stop one didn't have much of what I was looking for.
They had a lot more furniture for your living room, your dining room, but I didn't really see office furniture. So, we're going to try somewhere else. [music] Wow, this is a great price.
These stores are starting to make me feel like I'm the problem. Like either I have super bougie taste or these furniture stores are giving grandma. I don't know.
But a part of me is like, what if it was bigger? [music] You know, just bigger. Even though shopping for office furniture wasn't going well, once I got home, I ordered supplies to get me ready for the week.
So, I did a little shopping. Some may say I went overboard. I think I got exactly what I needed.
So, I'm going to unbox all of these things so that you guys can see exactly all of the organizational tools we need to get this place right. So, while the bees were planning, I had one big job. Making sure we had all the materials.
because if they're going to organize my life in 24 hours, we need bins, baskets, and labels ready to go. I had the most fun shopping for all this stuff. She basically sent me a list of everything I needed.
And I was like, add to cart. Add to cart. Clear bins because if I can't see it, it doesn't exist.
Velvet hangers because they look so chic. And of course, a label maker because if it's not labeled, it's just a bin with no vibes. Not going to lie to you.
I for completely forget what this is. I'm also going to have all this stuff linked in my substack in case any of you guys want any of these things. I feel like a kid on Christmas.
Oh, yeah. The little swivel thing. So, this one.
Tell me that's not satisfying. Oh, yeah. So, I was getting a little carried away while shopping.
Come on, I'm just a girl. And I actually stopped myself from going to Target. So, I was very proud of myself.
But I ordered some candles because, you know, new home, new me. I wish you could smell it. It smells so good.
I also too am bougie. And I'll only do woodwick. The little crackle takes me out.
Okay, the bees are here. This is either going to change my life or just expose how embarrassing my clutter is. >> Okay, so it's day.
How are you feeling? >> I'm a little overwhelmed. I'm not going to lie.
>> So, we're going to start with our edit down process. We are going to purge everything, which means we pull everything out. It's going to be chaotic, >> but it's okay because then we can go through room by room, have you look through stuff, decide if you want to keep it or donate it, and then everything will have a permanent home.
We'll put it back, make it look really pretty for you. >> The plan is to tackle [music] three spaces: the kitchen, the closet, and the office. And we're starting with the kitchen.
[music] So, what I'm doing right now is just pulling out everything, wiping it off, and making sure that nothing is sticky and kind of categorizing it just by snacks, jars, sauces, pastas. There's nothing like for me, I wake up the next morning and I think about that person, that client that woke up and they came out and they went like [laughter] and they make their breakfast and they're happy and their day starts, right? I love that.
Oh. Um, I'm just going to throw >> I was going to [laughter] That was in a stack. >> Oh, thank you.
A treasure. This I take every morning. This I take every morning.
And this I take every morning. >> Yeah. I didn't know this was a service.
>> Kind of love it. >> And here's where the chaos starts to get worse before it gets better. >> So, we've had our first tragedy of the day.
[music] We opened up one of the mirrors and it broke in the move. So [music] that's okay. It's going to be the only bad side of the day, but other than that, everything's going to turn out amazing.
>> If the kitchen was bad, the closet is a disaster. [music] This is where I've been throwing everything I didn't know what to do with since we moved in. >> So Irma's going to be working in their closet today.
We kind of just went over the plan. She's going to be taking all of the clothes. This is going to be the husband's side.
This is going to be the M's side. And put everything in the shape of a question mark so that it's facing outward. And it's going to go in color order.
So that way when they walk in, it is going to look so aesthetically beautiful. So the process right now is kind of just picking things off the floor, [music] taking things down, getting things on the correct hanger. That's kind of where we're at in that starting process to find places and homes for everything.
We are [music] sorting out some of the boxes that you had in the room. So we have tops, sweatshirts, bottoms, some of the stuff like the t-shirts. We're not sure if it's yours or your husband's, but we'll go through and be able to figure that out.
>> Okay. Um definitely want this. Okay.
>> Say mine. >> Okay. >> Everything.
>> I'm just kidding. >> His is as well. His 60% his 40% mine.
Ooh. So that's his. But I think I'm going to claim that one.
>> There's two. This one is bigger. >> Ooh.
Yeah. I'll take the bigger one. [music] >> So to look at it and say like, have I worn that?
Am I going to wear it? If it's something that you're not sure and you want to keep it, then that's okay. >> This was harder than I thought.
Every item suddenly came with emotional baggage. Um, we could put it in the props. Yeah.
Also, whenever I wear it, Nick compliments me. So, maybe that's why I'm wearing >> Oh, she's going to keep it. Okay.
[laughter] >> Beautiful. Okay. >> One down.
>> You did it. Okay. >> Wait.
No. Okay. I have to keep this one cuz I bought it in Paris.
>> Are you going to wear it again or do you want an actual memorabilia box with that in it? >> I'll try to wear it again. I have mixed emotions about this one.
Kind of giving winter tops. So, we'll keep it and I'll put in the winter stuff. >> Okay, fine.
Get rid of the Paris top. >> All those [gasps] basics. >> She's doing it.
>> That I'll get rid of. >> Okay. That was like Elias when she first moved to Florida.
[laughter] >> This is so hard. >> So, you went >> and it still has a tag. So, [laughter] I don't know.
>> I haven't worn it. So, we should get rid of it. We're going to say no.
Even though that hurts me. >> I forgot I had this. >> Oh, cute for sure.
>> Okay. The only thing is sometimes it clashes with my skin tone. So I look naked, but it's okay.
[laughter] >> Okay, don't kill me. >> But I have more. >> I love how you say that every time you come in, you're like, don't kill me [clears throat] right there.
>> I really didn't get good use out of this skirt. So I feel like it should stay. So similar issue.
When I wear it, my butt's kind of big. So then it becomes less like a skirt and more just like a >> It's very tight. >> But it's also so cute.
You know what I'm imagining? I'm imagining frame it. I'm [laughter] imagining my ex on it and I'm like, "No, you don't serve me.
" >> Yeah. >> Get out of [laughter] here. >> Bye.
>> I'm throwing it to the pile. I'm going to start imagining them as people. >> You should really like this skirt didn't do you any good.
>> Yeah. Like you're cute on the outside, but your inside ain't doing it. >> Mm-m.
>> Get rid of it. >> Thank you. >> So, we've revived this one.
We've decided she's going to come back. Um, I'm sorry for all the hateful things I said. Step one, edit down.
The mess is everywhere, but at least it's finally out in the open. Next comes the hard part, building actual systems. Watching them do this made me realize I've been wasting so much time searching for things that should take seconds to find.
This is the best thing ever. >> The bees are creating a flow that makes it impossible for me to backslide into chaos. That's the kind of system I need in my life.
So, the lazy Susan that you had under your sink previously wasn't spinning because of the garbage disposal, right? >> And it's generous. It's big, which is really nice.
So, ooh, look at those sauces. >> All the things that you use. This might be one of the best things I've ever invested in.
>> Is it something that you'd be open to replacing? >> But this is when things started to go downhill. First, I didn't buy enough hangers.
And apparently for a closet to look professionally organized, matching hangers are non-negotiable. Second, since all of our clothes were boxed up, it looked like we barely had anything when in reality we had way more than we thought. That meant more sorting, more decisions, and less time on the clock.
And third, my office. I had zero storage bins, which meant Tessa had no idea where half my stuff was supposed to go. We were running out of time, but Tessa had a solution.
So, it's 11:30, so we'll probably lunch in a little while. Um, so my thought was I can put in a Target order and eat lunch and then keep working. As soon as it's ready, I can run out and go pick it up and then bring them back.
But I think let's do like a walk around and see if we want to put anything else in the order so that we can just do one order cuz it'll probably take about an hour once we put the order in. I'm assuming we put all of your hair stuff in here and I separated it by brand here. So you have all of your things from that brand in one space that you could see in the top drawer.
It's really just what you use all the time. And then I put some of your pretty stuff over here. >> We love the pretty stuff.
>> I know. >> So in this cabinet, we put all of the hair products on Lazy Susan's. And then in here, all of the accessories are in these drawers.
There's multiple ways to do socks. You can fold them. We like to go in color order.
Sometimes we go rainbow. Since you don't really have colors on socks, we just kind of went light to dark. straight.
Many ways you can do it. Sometimes I'll do it this way. This time we're doing them in half and then in thirds with the neck tucked in.
>> So that leaves the logo out so you'll know what shirt it is. Turns out the reason my apartment was chaos wasn't clutter. It's because I ignored these five rules professional organizers swear by.
Rule number one, edit down before you do anything else. As you already saw in this video, this means take everything out, lay it in front of you, and get rid of the duplicates, expired items, or stuff you never use. This is a great way to donate or give to some people who may be needing what you have.
Rule number two, group by category so nothing's lost in random quarters. If it's scattered, you'll keep rebying it because you don't realize you already own it, aka the closet. Rule number three, buy organizers that fit your home.
Ensure your drawers, your shelves, your fridge are great solutions that fit your space. It takes time, but it's worth it. Rule number four, label it.
If it has a name, it has a home. Labels aren't just cute, they're accountability. Rule number five, every item should earn its spot.
If something takes up space, but you don't actually use it, it's clutter. The only thing that gets to stay are the ones you reach for, love, or truly need. Everything else, donate it, sell it, or toss it.
We weren't even close to done. And that's when it hit me. Organizing takes time and you have to be fully committed to the process.
>> Don't ask. >> If we go additional hours, she would add that on. >> Okay.
>> So, I can call her really quick if you want just so we can get like a good plan. >> It's halfway through the day and we still have all of this left. [music] I only budgeted for a day of organizing.
Every hour past that means more money. And at this point, I wasn't sure if we were going to make it. >> What do we have left?
Because I'm trying to give her like a roundabout figure of like how many hours we have left. So, tell me exactly what's left. >> Um, what has not been touched yet is the decor closet, which it's small and easy.
So, that will only maybe take 20 30 minutes. >> So, we're likely going to go over by 1 hour currently. That's what we're estimated at.
Systems were coming together and for the first time, I thought maybe this is actually going to work. But then things got worse. >> It always looks worse before it gets better.
>> Okay, so this is worse. >> Yes, trust me, when this is done, it is going to be like you've never seen it before. So, we are in about the last hour of the process.
We're doing all the final touches, just cleaning things off, placing things, getting last minute [music] bits and pieces put back together. >> For the first time, it actually felt like we were ahead. We weren't just moving piles, we were building something.
The chaos had a checklist and a finish line. >> Baby, now we're strangers, [music] just two people in a crowded room. I don't even know your name yet.
>> This isn't the full thing yet, but just so you can see what we're working with. Ta. >> Oh, wow.
Look at this. >> Isn't this cool? >> Wow, man.
>> Look at this. I know. >> It's like we have our own box tail in here.
>> I know. Look at this place. >> This is going to be dangerous.
This is awesome. >> Shot. [music] I'm so excited.
[music] [music] Oh, it's laundry. [music] >> Are you ready? >> I'm ready.
>> Welcome to your brand new kitchen. >> Oh my goodness. >> What do you think?
>> It looks so good. Lisa. >> Lisa, you crushed this.
>> Lisa crushed it. >> And then here's your silverware. >> Perfect.
>> Coasters in the back to keep it from sliding around. Um up here your neutral bullets and just extra stuff. And then of course underneath there looks so good.
>> Yeah. And you can pull it out. There's nothing shoved at the back so you can get to everything which is nice.
>> Oh my gosh. And then these pull out as well. Nice.
That looks so good. And even the bottom drawers down here. >> Wow.
I'm obsessed. >> Okay, so this is a totally transformed space. How do you feel?
>> It looks so good. I forgot I had a floor >> and a carpet. >> Isn't it so beautiful?
So, we added some pillows. We got a little decor going here. But a really exciting feature.
We moved your bar cart. >> I think that this is a great space for it. >> So good.
>> So, here we are. Let me kind of walk you through where we're at. So, I'm so happy that we found this piece because it I feel like really fits the whole space well.
Can I just say shout out to Tessa for literally running to the store grabbing this and grabbing extra stuff for us and she found this on sale. >> These are all straps for um camera equipment. Here are your muscles.
[laughter] >> So, do you want to see what 5 lb of muscle and 5 lb of fat look like? >> I was looking at them earlier and honestly it is the most interesting thing to me. >> Is that actually 5 lb?
Like that's 5 lb of fat. Imagine that in your 5 lb of muscle and why it's like so much leaner, but it's heavier. >> It's heavier.
Yeah. I kept these in here just because they fit nicely. Love it.
I was going to label that muscles, but I was like, [laughter] >> "Okay, over here is all of going to be like your yoga exercise mat. " Um, this is your everyday content equipment to kind of grab from. Um, this is just kind of a little grab and go content section.
Bags, travel bags, content bags, laptop bag, camera bags. So gorgeous. This looks so good.
I love it. My office blew me away. I can actually work here like today.
This looks Pinterest pretty, but it's the flow for me. It's faster to live here. Was it worth it for me?
Absolutely. We took everything out. We built systems and I'm getting back hours [music] every single week.
For weeks, I was working at the kitchen table because the office felt impossible to do anything in. Walking in there now, I feel like I can actually step into this next chapter of my life. Heat.
Heat. [music] [music] [music] Here's [music] the plan for maintaining our new systems. [music] Every night, we'll do a quick 10-minute reset.
Every item has a return to home rule so it goes back to where it belongs. And once a quarter, we'll do a mini edit to keep clutter [music] from creeping back in. Because this isn't just about drawers and bins.
It's about protecting our peace, our marriage, and the future we're building together. [music] Huge thank you to Be organized. I couldn't be more proud to call this place my home.
We went over by 2 hours, but the professionalism, attention to detail, and [music] energy these women brought into our home made every single penny worth it. >> Oh, I love it. It was such a pleasure doing this for you.
We had so much fun, and all of your things are just so beautiful. So, I can't wait to see how you maintain the space, your future content to come, all the things. >> It's going to look gorgeous now because of you guys.
So, thank you so much. >> In a crowded room, I don't even know your name yet, but I know [music] I'm going to fall for you.
