a person might be drawn to someone who unconsciously represents a parental figure This explains why certain relationships tend to repeat old patterns even when we try to do things differently But it isn't about avoiding projections They are inevitable especially in love The key is to recognize them and use them as tools for self-nowledge When we manage to see the other as they truly are without imposing our internal expectations or frustrations onto them we create space for a genuine encounter where two whole beings relate not just two idealized images This process requires courage but it also
