The one thing you need to know is that public trust across the board is in rapid and free fall this lack of trust in institutions has created a void when that happens people are looking for someone to come in and fill that void in this case there is a lot of talk that that could fall on the backs of business leaders you know over the past century you've seen you see the pendulum swing from side to side when it comes to businesses and what their main priority is as manufacturing has declined and globalization has increased
you see corporations that are less connected to the communities that they serve I think if you look at our country right now you see a tale of two countries really people on the coasts where a lot of companies are doing really well and posting a record profits and in the middle of the country you see the exact opposite people who feel like they've been left behind by the economy that they're not connected to the big companies in their own cities Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase they're gonna be teaming up and they say their goal
is to try and improve US employee health care the fact that you have three really powerful CEOs coming together to solve this larger problem that doesn't actually have much impact on their own core businesses shows that there is an interest for businesses to solve larger problems for society I don't think we've hit rock bottom yet they've said that the decline in public trust is quickening it's actually going faster but we haven't hit the bottom yet we still have a ways to go
