in the tropics night falls rapidly you need to be looking for a place to Camp by midafternoon because you've got to build a shelter up off the forest floor to get away from the ants what I'm looking for in a campsite two strong trees that I can string my hammock to a nice clear area around me so I don't have to worry about so many insects and I don't have to worry about the critters getting too close to me and another key thing is I'm close to the river but also I don't want to be
too close to the river so if it pours down rain in the midd of night I don't wake up in the river so this is where I'm going to make my home for the evening right now I'm just making some notches in the tree so that it'll secure my hammock and I don't have to worry about it sliding down on me in the middle of the night you want to get it so that it's about chest High because once you get in it it's going to drop down and that's how you're going to sleep nice
