See [music] you in the next video. >> [music] >> Now let's move on to a new topic. How a class looks in Papley.
Everything starts on the homepage. From there, click my courses. You'll be taken to a page showing your active courses, the courses you selected and are currently taking.
Let's use this course as an example. Click here. You will now be on the dashboard of the selected course.
To view the lessons, click on lessons. Here you'll find your course information such as welcome schedule and the lessons that will be available to you on a weekly basis. Let's start by looking at welcome.
Here you'll find the general information about the selected course including its purpose, content, and objectives. Now let's return to the course dashboard and take a look at the second page, the schedule page. This page shows the course plan, including the expected dates for activities, classes, and the course end.
However, please note that these dates are not fixed. They may change according to academic policy or natural adjustments in the study dynamics. Let's take a look at lesson one.
Here you'll find an overview of the lesson along with information such as the purpose and highlights. You'll also see colored banners that point out important information. For example, to-do, which shows what needs to be completed, notes and attention, which highlight key details.
In addition, you will always find the transcripts which are the PDF materials for the lesson as well as important links to contact the support team for the course you are taking. So the next step is to learn how to complete the assignments for your course. [music] Let's move forward.
[music] >> [music] >> Now let's learn about assignments. In popularly, there are three different ways to submit your work and receive grades. Assignments can be completed as a quiz, an essay, or a summary.
An essay is a written assignment where you develop your ideas in more detail, following the topic and guidelines provided by the instructor. A summary is a written task focused on highlighting the main points and key concepts of the lesson in a clear and concise way. This type of assignment is submitted as a PDF file.
A quiz is an online assessment completed directly and popularly. It may include multiplechoice or short answer questions and is used to evaluate your understanding of the lesson content. Now, let's see how to submit an essay.
From the course dashboard, click lessons, then choose the lesson for the current week where you need to complete your assignment. Open your lesson. And as we mentioned before, you'll see colored banners with important information about your tasks.
In the to-do section, you'll find which type of assignment you need to complete. in this case, an essay, along with all the instructions you need to complete it. Click the essay link and a text box will open where you must type your summary, your understanding, and whatever your lesson requires.
If you prefer, write it first in a text editor and then paste it directly into the text box provided. Important, for the essay, you must write in the designated text box. Do not upload or paste files.
Notice that for now your work has not been sent yet. It's still saved as a draft. You can save it and come back later to continue, but your assignment is only submitted when you click submit.
After clicking submit, a popup will appear asking you to confirm the submission. Click okay and your assignment will be successfully submitted. But pay attention.
Do not write in the comments section and do not upload any files there. This is a comments area, not an assignment submission area. If you upload a file or write your work in the comments section, your assignment will not be reviewed and your grade will not be recorded.
So, never write or upload files in this area. If you do, your work may be lost and your grade may be affected. This is your responsibility.
Now, let's look at another type of assignment, submitting a summary. Just like with an essay assignment, go to your lesson. In the colored to-do banner, you'll see the assignment type.
You can also find the same task under assignments. In this example, it's a summary. Click the link to open it.
Read the instructions carefully and follow all requirements, including formatting, cover page, and everything requested in the lesson. To submit your work, you must upload a PDF file. Select your file or simply drag and drop it into the designated area.
Once the upload is complete, you'll see a message at the top of the page confirming that your file was submitted successfully. And don't forget, never write or upload your PDF file in the comments section. Now, let's talk about tests and quizzes.
When your lesson includes a quiz assignment, click it to view the quiz details, then click take the test. You'll see a screen confirming that you're ready to begin. Before you start, read the guidelines carefully, including the time limit and any specific instructions.
Start the quiz, answer all questions, and make sure you don't leave any blank. When you're finished, click submit test. Your grade will be released by the academic team within the time frame established in the university schedule.
[music] That's all for now. See you in the next video. >> [music] [music] >> Now, let's talk about videos and how you can use them to better understand the content of your lessons.
With a lesson selected, you'll see a video with your instructor's course content. Click the settings icon to open the options menu. Let's look at a few features that can help you better understand the lesson.
This subtitles translation is a YouTube feature. It allows automatic subtitle translation regardless of the video. Here you can see the subtitle options available.
Turn captions from off to on to display subtitles. Then under subtitles, you can choose the language you want. There are many options.
Select the auto translated subtitles you want to read. To access more video features, click YouTube to open the video directly on the platform. Then click settings again, and you'll see a wider range of options available to you.
In some videos, YouTube's new audio translation feature may be available in multiple languages. When it is, you can choose to use subtitles and also listen to the video in your preferred language through a dubbed audio track. But please note, this is a new feature that is still being tested by YouTube.
In many cases, the audio translation may sound confusing or unnatural, which can affect the learning experience. This is not an issue with the video produced by the university. It is a YouTube feature that is still being rolled out to users.
If the audio translation doesn't work well for you, disable this option and watch the video in the instructor's original language. [music] Good learning and see you next time.
