Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, >> but of God, >> if pleasing people were my goal. I would not be Christ servants. I want to go into week two of let them.
>> Week two that blessed me last week of let them. Last week, we learned this truth. Please put this in your notes if you haven't already.
Become is not about controlling outcomes. It's about surrendering reactions. It's about surrendering reactions.
I told you on last week that a lot of the pain a lot of us feel isn't because of what they did to us. It's about how we reacted to what they did to us. I had some things jump off in my life this week.
Nothing crazy, but I'm easily triggered at times. Anybody else can admit that there are certain things I can be strong about a lot of stuff. Then one thing happened just send me to the moon.
And out of nowhere when it happened, I found myself this week measuring my reactions. >> I found myself this week telling people close to me whatever PMJ would have did, I'm doing the opposite. >> Yep.
Cuz I go from zero to 100. It be the silly people who be crazy. >> So I I laugh all day, but when I'm done laughing, oh, I'm there now.
And what I had to realize is I had to be in control of my reactions. Let them was never permission for dysfunction. It was protection for formation.
So when I said last week, we're adopting this mindset of let them. Let them let God. I am not saying I want you to allow people to be dysfunctional.
I am not saying just let people walk all over you. They can say whatever they want to you. And you like no, I'm going just let them.
No, I'm removing myself from them situations. Why PMJ? You are not letting people win.
You are letting God work. You are not disengaging from purpose. You are disengaging from the distractions in your life.
Please put this in your notes. Let them is how you stop leaking energy into people who were never assigned authority over your peace. Let them is how you stop leaking energy.
Please put that in your notes for your pastor. Leaking energy. Leaking energy.
My My truck caught a flat last week and I got in the truck. Didn't even pay no attention. Out of nowhere, the light went off and my PSI was at two.
My air PSI was at two. I'm like, that must be a chip problem. Then all of a sudden, I pulled over at the gas station.
The it was literally on the rim. I don't know when my tire started going flat, but I do know at some point it started leaking. >> Many of us are overwhelmed and frustrated, not because something happened all of a sudden.
That's why a lot of us get upset cuz you've been you've been leaking so long and and and slowly leaking that you were frustrated. You were saying little things like, "I don't know. I just need some help.
I just need y'all to give me some time. I just need y'all to pray for me. Why won't nobody help me?
" Then when you lose it, EVERYBODY IS SHOCKED BECAUSE THEY SAY ALL OF A SUDDEN. NO, this wasn't a ALL OF A SUDDEN THING. >> For weeks, months, and years, I've been leaking energy into people who never were assigned authority over my peace.
>> And hear me when I say this. If you're looking at that, I want you to underline stop leaking energy. Because biblically when you are leaking energy, that's what the Bible calls weariness.
>> That's what we call biblically weariness. And when it comes to weariness, this is not physical tiredness. It is spiritual exhaustion from striving, overextending, or carrying what God never assigned.
Many of you right now today is not even the 25th yet of January and you already saying this month moving too slow. You already a little frustrated already a little tired. Let me free you.
It is not physical tiredness. No, it is spiritual exhaustion from striving overextending and carrying what God never assigned. I'm going say this and I pray you can receive it.
This has to be the season of your life where you stop picking up [music] what nobody asked you. >> You don't have to say amen to me. This has to be the season of your life where you stop volunteering to do what God did not call you to do.
I'll say this about you cuz I can say it about me. I found out in my life I am addicted to saving people. >> I am addicted.
Information for me breathes information for me brings oh my obligation for me. Information leads to obligation. When I hear something I feel like you're telling me cuz you subconsciously WANT ME TO DO something about it.
>> This might be to you. You have to flat out ask. >> BECAUSE I'VE DISCOVERED THAT IN THE PLACES OF MY LIFE WHERE I VOLUNTARILY STEPPED in in seasons WHERE THEY DID NOT INVITE me in, I ended up weary cuz I ended up CARRYING STUFF THAT GOD DID NOT ASSIGN FOR ME TO CARRY.
YOU AIN'T GOING TO SAY AMEN, BUT IT'S COOL. THEN WHEN IT CAME TIME TO CARRY MY STUFF, [screaming] >> I HAD NOTHING left to be me CUZ I WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO HELP YOU BE YOU. YEAH.
>> And this is not a knock on being there for people. You should be there for people. >> The right ones.
>> No. Hear me WHEN I SAY THIS. WHY, PMJ?
This is weariness. Can you put this in your notes? Cuz when purpose and pace are misaligned, that equals weariness of the soul.
When purpose and pace are misaligned, bro, you want to know one of the most frustrating things in the world is when you trying to charge your phone, but the plug behind the bed >> or behind the nightstand. Who know what I'm talking about? >> I promise you, it feel like that plug be moving.
It's like you look, THEN YOU PUT YOUR HAND BACK THERE, THEN YOU LOOK AGAIN, then out of nowhere, it's like the you can't get it aligned. you. No matter how hard you try, you can't get it aligned.
>> What if I told you I can promise you it's one way to get it align the first time? Who would do that? You ready?
Move the dresser. >> Pull the bed out. >> See, you don't want to exhort the necessary energy >> to move heavy stuff.
So you rather be frustrated and wasted time trying to find something that a necessary move would have gave you access to. >> You are one heavy lift away >> from stuff aligning. Pastor Mike, they've been around a long time.
Long longevity does not equal loyalty. >> Preach PMJ. Just because they've been around don't mean they've been aligned.
>> Michael, that was good. just because they've been around. Hear me when I say this.
Purpose and pace are misaligned. That's when we get weariness of the soul. I didn't say peace.
I said what? >> Pace. >> Purpose what I'm called and assigned to do.
Pace how fast I move at it. See, 2026 for me has been a year where I got my pace right. I've been turning down interviews, turning down speaking engagement, turning down concerts cuz I've been trying to get my pace right.
Trying to get my people who work for me now. The new people who've been here, they've been telling me, "I don't know how you do it. " They said, "I don't have a clue how you do it.
" My security guy who's worked with any rapper you know in the world. Literally, he like, "Pastor Mike, you you move at a pace I ain't never seen. You'll be in the studio till 2 a.
m. Get out the studio at 2 a. m.
6:00 you right back up. 7:00 you in all your means. By 10, 11:30, you been in staff me out of staff me.
Boom. Back here some son. Get home.
Boom. Go to all your boys training. Come out of the boys training.
Boom. Then you take Xander here. You come back here.
You come back here. Get to sleep. Then you we finally take you home and we like you home.
Then all of a sudden you sending text messages out now. Hey have y'all did so and so don't forget we got to my pace was so frantic. It was so all over the pace and just because I was busy don't mean I was productive.
>> Who cares if you're getting results if you're leaking. >> So pace so purpose and pace have to be aligned. >> Purpose and pace have to be aligned.
And many of us end up weary because when purpose and pace fall out of alignment, your soul absorbs the strain. And that strain you feel in your soul turns to weariness. So hear me.
This is why Isaiah 57:10 says, "You were wearied by all your ways, >> but you would not say. It is hopeless. You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not think.
" Mhm. >> Look at this version, the message version. You weigh yourselves out trying the new and the different >> and never see what a waste it all is.
You've always found strength in the latest fad or trend. Never got tired of trying new religions. See, in Isaiah 57, this is a scripture we never read in church because it brings too much conviction.
In Isaiah 57, it addresses Israel's spiritual drift. That may be a phrase you might want to write. Spiritual drifting.
Spiritual drifting. Isaiah addresses Israel's spiritual drift. >> God is speaking to a people who kept pursuing alternatives other than him.
So this particular scripture, put it back on the screen so they can see it. Is the prophet addressing the fact that they kept trying every new religion but going back to God. They tried foreign alliances, which is bad partnerships.
They tried idols and they tried self-reliance. They were exhausted not because God asked too much of them but because they refused to stop striving on their own terms. This is what we call soul fatigue.
Watch this. Caused by stubborn momentum. >> The average person listening to me, myself included, have suffered from what I want to call stubborn momentum.
What is stubborn momentum, PMJ? God is looking at them like, "Y'all don't real. Y'all know I'm the answer, right?
" But they kept trying other gods, trying other religions, trying other gods, trying new religions. Well, this person came out and said, "All you need is some sage. " So now they doing sage.
This person came out and said, "All you got to do is be a Muslim. " Now they Muslim. This person came out and said, "You don't even need church now.
You can seek enlightenment. " Now they getting enlightenment. Now another person came out and said, "All you need is a good Instagram pastor.
" Now boom, all I do is watch Instagram. And God is sitting here like, "Hey, hey, y'all keep trying all this new stuff and are too stubborn to come back to me. " The tragedy is not that they were tired.
The tragedy was that they were tired and still refused to turn back. >> This verse exposes a dangerous strength. What's the strength, PMJ?
The strength that the ability to keep going in the wrong direction. So, this is good what I'm going to tell you right here. Cuz when you won't listen to God's instruction, God will send exhaustion.
>> Sometimes God lets exhaustion speak louder than instruction. God, like, I gave your word in 2024, you ain't do nothing. I gave your word in 2025, you didn't listen to me.
So, I'm going to let 2026 whoop your butt in such a way >> that you are exhausted. And if you won't stop, your body will. >> And the question I need to ask you right now, because weariness becomes the mercy that calls us home, God says, "I'll allow you to be spiritually exhausted, emotionally stubborn, cuz I'm using this exhaustion, preach Mike, to bring you back home.
See, when stuff was going perfect, you went missing. >> When hell broke loose, you came running back. >> And sometimes God says, "When you won't listen TO MY INSTRUCTION, YOU WILL listen to exhaustion.
" AND THE QUESTION I GOT TO ASK YOU TODAY IS, are you going after God or goals? >> Cuz the two ain't the same. ARE YOU GOING AFTER GOD OR GOALS?
The two ain't the same. MANY OF US HAVE MADE IDOLS OUT OF OUR GOALS. >> And what I CAME TO ASK YOU NOW IS, watch this.
If God isn't in your goals, you'll be moving with no meaning. >> GOALS ASKS, "WHAT CAN I BUILD? What do I want to build?
" God asks, "Who am I becoming while I'm building it? " >> And too many of us have put our goals over God. And you need to be honest with yourself cuz the scariest thing in the world is when you can't tell the difference between your goals and God.
See what you do is your mind, your ambition will make you your your own ambition will have you thinking God want it for you. Or your own conscience will have you thinking it was the Holy Spirit. SO WHAT YOU'LL DO IS YOU'LL MAKE UP IN your mind you can't stand your job cuz one person made you mad.
So now you say, "I don't like my job. " THEN NEXT THING YOU KNOW, YOU LOOK UP AND YOU TELL SOMEBODY, "I can't stand this job. can't wait to get out this job.
Now that word is on your spirit. Now you irritated. Now all of a sudden when you go to Instagram, job openings start popping up cuz Google listening cuz the feds listening.
SO NOW YOUR WHOLE WEB browser is saying new jobs in this area. New jobs in this area. Have you been praying about a career change then all of a SUDDEN NOW BECAUSE YOU'VE been looking at career change and the algorithm watching now all of a sudden some fool come on Instagram man you're sitting at a job and something in you is saying you shouldn't even be here.
SO NOW YOU TELLING FOLK, I FEEL LIKE GOD IS GETTING READY TO GET ME OUT THIS JOB. AND GOD IS LIKE, I NEVER TOLD YOU THAT. STOP MAKING WHAT YOU WANT WHAT I WANT [screaming] FOR YOU.
>> MY WAYS ARE NOT YOUR WAYS AND MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS. AND I KNOW YOU'RE NOT GOING TO SAY AMEN CUZ WE HAVE BEEN TRAINED, MICHAEL. WE HAVE BEEN TRAINED TO BE GOAL ORIENTED.
>> I HAD GOALS. BY 27, I'M GOING TO BE THIS. I HAD GOALS.
BY 27, I'm going be the biggest pastor in the world. By 29, I'm going to be the biggest gospel artist in the world. By 31, Rock City going to be in this city and this state all over the world.
By 35, I'm going be so and so. By 40, I'm out of there. >> Then when 40 come, I'mma write movies.
I'mma do. AND THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS LIKE, THAT SOUND GOOD? >> But who told you?
>> I'm preaching y'all. They roll their eyes at me over there. Who told you that's what I want for you?
And the most dangerous thing in life is not failing to reach a goal. It's succeeding at something >> God never assigned. >> Some of you are chasing these goals and don't realize that goal is actually a prison.
>> It causes YOU TO BE SOMETHING GOD NEVER DESIGNED YOU TO BE. AND IF I AM BEING SOMETHING THAT GOD NEVER CALLED ME TO BE, THAT MEANS I'M PLAYING A PART, >> WHICH MEANS I'M WEARING a mask. >> And then you going to get to that mansion with 15 bedrooms.
You going to get to that car with all them rims. You going TO GET TO THAT bank account full and still miserable. >> You don't SEE A LOT OF POOR PEOPLE THROWING IN THE TOWEL AND QUITTING.
YOU DON'T SEE A LOT OF POOR PEOPLE SAYING THEY DON'T THEY THEY NO, YOU SEE PEOPLE WHO HAVE MADE IT TO A CERTAIN LEVEL OF LIFE, SAYING, "I got this big old house. Ain't nobody in it. >> I got all this money and nobody to spend IT WITH.
" AND GOD IS SAYING, "I NEVER CALLED YOU TO SEEK GOALS. " Matthew 6:33, "Seek ye first >> the kingdom of God and his righteousness AND ALL THESE THINGS. " PREACH MICHAEL WOULD SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS THEN ALL THESE THINGS PUT THAT DOUBTS BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WE HAVE IS THAT WE ARE LIVING MATTHEW 6:33 IN REVERSE.
>> GO BACK. WE'RE LIVING IT IN REVERSE. WHAT WE'RE DOING IS SEEK THESE THINGS >> AND THEN I ADD RIGHTEOUSNESS TO IT.
I WANT IT. AND WHAT I DO IS I CONVINCE THAT THAT'S WHAT GOD WANT FOR ME. AND THEN I PUT A LIST TOGETHER AND ASK GOD TO BLESS THE LIST >> INSTEAD OF TALKING TO GOD AND SAYING, "CREATE THE LIST.
" >> Y'all don't like me today. >> NO. [screaming] >> God never called you to chase outcomes.
He just says, "Seek me. " >> That's why the message version says, look at this. Steep your life in God reality.
Yes. >> God initiatives, God provisions. Don't worry about missing out.
>> This is Matthew 6:33 from the message. Look what he says. Don't worry about missing out.
You ain't missing nothing. You'll find all your everyday human concerns [laughter] will be met. >> It does not say seek results.
It says seek the kingdom. Cuz when God is the pursuit, goals find their proper place. That might be worth writing.
When God is the pursuit, goals will find their proper place. Baby girl, this is so good to me because I mean this. I seek God.
God reveals what I should pursue. >> Let's do this better. Okay.
I seek God. God reveals what I should pursue. I build goals based off of what I'm pursuing.
If you get goals without God, you are not operating one, two, three. You're operating 321. >> So now I got goals >> that I don't know what I revealed them.
>> Now I need God to bless them. Yeah. >> Why does my goals need to be in order?
This may be worth writing. Because your goals should be servants, not masters. >> Your goals should be servants, not masters.
I'm going to say this. It's going to be really quiet in Zion. We don't realize how we made some of our goals idols.
>> You are at home depressed cuz you're not reaching a list you created. You feel like you behind schedule based off a list you made. >> You don't even realize how good God is to you.
>> You so busy looking at a list you created that you never even fasted and prayed over. >> So now you at you at home depressed, frustrated, and overwhelmed, rushing, trying to manipulate and force stuff to happen to meet a deadline that ain't real. So the question I want to ask you today is not are you tired >> but what are you tired from chasing?
>> Cuz Galatians 1:10 says obviously preach Mike I'm not trying to win the approval of people >> but of God. If pleasing people were my goal I would not be Christ's servant. Paul establishes the tension again but today I want to push further.
Here's what Paul is saying. Please write this. Approval does not just distract assignment, it creates noise.
Paul says, "I need you to stop trying to win the approval of people because not only does approval distract you from your assignment, it creates noise. And when you stop chasing approval, voices get louder. " >> Oh, we going to walk heavy now.
When you stop chasing approval, voices get louder. When you stop caring >> Yeah. >> what people think, >> they don't stop talking.
>> They just talk louder. >> When you block out hate, they don't disappear. They talk louder.
Because people who benefited from your compliance will struggle with your conviction. People who benefited from your compliance will struggle with your conviction. Make that make sense, PMJ.
The folk who liked you better while >> can't handle when you mature. >> The people WHO LIKED YOU BETTER WASTEFUL can't handle when you become responsible. >> They like the version of you that blew money.
THEY WERE THE RECIPIENT. >> THEY LIKE THE VERSION OF YOU WHO WENT OUT. YOU WERE THE RIDE.
THEY LIKED THE VERSION OF YOU WHO TALKED TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. THEY WEREN'T CUTE. THEY NEEDED YOU THERE CUZ YOU TURNED SIXES INTO EIGHTS.
[cheering] >> THEY LIKED YOU BETTER WHEN YOU WERE TOXIC CUZ IT MADE THEM BEING TOXIC MORE COMFORTABLE. BUT THEY DIDN'T REALIZE I WAS CALLED TO BE A MIRROR. WHICH MEANS I NEED YOU TO look at ME AND SEE THE POSSIBILITY OF WHAT YOU COULD BE IF YOU LOCKED IN WITH GOD.
SO HEAR ME. PEOPLE WHO BENEFITED FROM YOUR COMPLIANCE will struggle with your conviction. >> When you become convicted, that's my prayer.
That's why you see me preaching with more notes now than having good church all the time. Cuz I realize good church is emotional. >> Notes are cognitive.
[screaming] >> I am trying to cause a paradigm thinking shifting you. Let me make that very simple. I am trying to raise your level of conviction.
Cuz if I raise your level of conviction, it will shift who you are so you can >> become. >> Are you hearing me? >> Stuff you used to do, you just did.
I ain't mad at it. You didn't know. SO NOW YOU USED TO BE OUT THERE ACTING a fool and it was fun.
WAKE UP THE NEXT MORNING, we had a time. >> Now you go out there and act a fool. BUT GUESS WHAT HAPPENED?
WHY YOU ACTING A FOOL? You saying stuff now like I know I shouldn't even be out here doing all this foolishness. I'M TRYING TO PREACH.
THIS IS WHY I PREACH IN PRACTICAL ways and use real life stories and real life examples. I want every time you at that person house and it's about to go down and them lights go down and y'all cut that music on and you put the fireplace on YouTube so the room can look good and you set the mood, I want you to say, "Let me charge my phone real quick. " And when you get ready to charge your [laughter] >> [cheering] >> Pastor said, "I'm not aligned.
" And I want you to just run out the room. And I What do you mean? PASTOR MIKE TOLD ME IF I don't charge my phone, I'M NOT ALIGNED.
AND I'M GOING TO BE IN YOUR SPIRIT. RUN. RUN.
RUN. RUN. RUN.
THAT'S CONVICTION. THAT'S CONVICTION. SEE?
SEE? SEE? CUZ YOU USED TO JUST DO IT.
NOW AT LEAST YOU FEEL BAD ABOUT IT. GOD SAYS, "I'M TAKING YOU FROM JUST DOING IT TO FEEL BAD ABOUT IT TO NOT WANT TO DO IT. " THAT'S WHY YOU CAN TESTIFY.
THANK YOU, GRANDMAMA. CHAPTER 3, VERSE ONE. THINGS I USED TO DO, I don't DO NO MORE.
PLACES I USED TO GO, I DON'T GO NO MORE. PEOPLE WHO USED TO LOOK GOOD TO ME DON'T LOOK GOOD NO MORE. AND WHAT I'M TRYING TO GET YOU TO REALIZE IS APPROVAL.
>> When I said let them part one, I taught you how to release people. Last week, please go back and watch that message. I was showing you that if you're going to become like it or not, there are some people I'm going to say this, both good and bad, >> that might need to be released.
>> Everybody you need to release ain't always bad. >> I love my kids. I love them with every fiber of my freaking being.
Hear me. My greatest joy in life is just being their daddy. We'll walk away from everything.
Won't preach, won't sing, do nothing if it meant I was losing them. You got to believe that I would be at Walmart standing at the door and would be THE MOST FAINT. I WOULD BE THE TENDERISMS OF WALMART IF I was there.
Hear me. That's how much I LOVE HIM. AT THE same time, this next six weeks are so hard for me cuz I'm having to cut Mason off.
>> AND THAT'S MY DOG. WE ROLL DEEP. WE TEXT EACH OTHER.
I DON'T KNOW HOW HE GOT GOOD GRADES CUZ ALL WE USED TO do is send each other reals all day. But now Xander going TO BE GONE. XANDER can't take him everywhere no more.
Mike can't take him everywhere no more. In 3 months when Xander go to college and Mike go to college. Mason is the oldest in the house right now.
Mason the baby of the big three. He probably THE MOST SPOILED. XANDER GOING TO TAKE out the trash.
Mike going to do everything. Mace going to come walking in late. And you know what I'm going TO SAY TO MACE?
MACE. ALL RIGHT. FIVESTAR.
Going to do what you got to do. Big dog. He's spoiled.
BUT NOW IT'S IT'S it's new for him cuz instead of hearing daddy say how great he is, hey, you need to get up. Get get this room right. Come on, man.
Nobody going to want a nasty dorm room. Nobody going to want to be a roommate if it's nasty. Mace, let's go, BABY.
NO. LET'S GO. NO.
IF YOUR COACH ASKED YOU TO RUN, you would have took out running. Don't Don't look back at me like I'm getting on your nerves. That's I'm trying to develop him.
I'm trying to show him love me or not, in 12 months, he got to release me. HE CAN'T. HE WON'T BE SUCCESSFUL still dependent.
>> AND MANY OF Y'ALL THINK YOU ONLY CUT OFF PEOPLE WHO ARE BAD. IN CERTAIN SEASONS, YOU ALSO GOT TO REMOVE PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN GOOD >> BECAUSE THEIR GOODNESS HAS BEEN CRIPPLING. >> MICHAEL, >> YOU DON'T PRAY FOR YOURSELF CUZ THEY ALWAYS PRAYING FOR YOU.
EVERY TIME Y'ALL PRAY ON THE PHONE, THEY LEAVE PRAYER. WHY YOU WON'T PRAY? This season OF BEING A HANDICAPPED, IMMATURE, SPOILED CHRISTIAN IS DEAD.
>> BE THE KING AND QUEEN GOD CALLED YOU TO BE. IT'S YOUR season to become and become. Part one.
Last week, I said you got to release people. Part two, I'm trying to teach you how to respond. Hey.
Hey. I'm trying to teach you how to respond when those very people start talking. Cuz I rarely see people who have been released go silently.
>> Michael, I rarely see people you release go silently. So if you can't handle what they going to say, >> it will keep you stuck where you are. >> Become, put this in your notes, is not about managing voices.
It's about mastering responses. >> It's not my job to manage who going to say what. >> It's my job to master what I respond to.
>> Pastor Mike, you teaching some revolutionary stuff. No, I'm not. I'm saying what grandmama said.
It's not what you called. >> It's what you answer to. >> You out here about to fight.
You get Did you hear what they said to me? Why did you respond? So I need you to catch this.
Why? Because you do not become by silencing people. You become by stabilizing yourself.
>> Oo. This going to be the year I'm better. I'm trying to be better, but now they talking about I'm acting funny.
Do me a favor. You ready? Put this in your notes.
Let them talk. [snorts] >> Let them talk. >> Let them talk.
You want to know why? Let them talk because your enemies ain't pathetic, they're prophetic. >> You arguing with them cuz you think they pathetic.
See, if I called you something, you think I'm pathetic. Now you fussing. But if you view them as being prophetic, you'll start praising >> cuz everything they say about you may be prophecy.
>> Got the job now. They walking around here like they run the place. Shut.
So what you saying is I got boss anointing on me, right? That's what you saying. Drving this little hooky like it's a Mercedes.
So what you really saying is you could see me in a 2026. No, they they always together acting LIKE HE AIN'T THAT AIN'T YOUR HUSBAND. OH, so you think we got potential, huh?
No, because noise preach Mike Mccclure, I need you to catch this. I need you to catch this. I need you to catch this.
Noise is confirmation that movement is happening. >> I'm going to have church by myself. I said I was going to teach.
I may shout for 3 seconds right here. Noise, preach Mike, is confirmation that movement is happening. Yeah.
You don't TALK ABOUT PEOPLE WHO AIN'T DOING STUFF. YOU DON'T BOTHER PEOPLE WHO ON YOUR LEVEL. IF THEY TALKING, IT'S PROOF THAT IT'S SOME MOVING TAKING PLACE.
>> I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU SITTING NEXT TO, BUT THEY SITTING THERE LIKE THEY NODDING THEIR HEAD. THEY AIN'T HAVING GOOD ENOUGH CHURCH FOR ME. REACH OVER THAT NOD AND JUST SLAP ANOTHER NEIGHBOR HIGH FIVE AND SHOUT GET MOVING.
I EXPECT PEOPLE TO TALK ABOUT YOU. HOW YOU DOING BETTER THAN THEM AND THEY MAKE MORE THAN YOU? IT'S GOD.
PEOPLE CAN'T HANDLE WHEN YOU LEVEL UP. >> HEAR ME WHEN I SAY THIS. This is good.
This is I'm not going to do it. Silence never attacks growth. Every time something happen, my name be coming up.
I'll be sitting HOME LIKE I AIN'T NEVER DID THAT. EVERY TIME SKITS COMING OUT, ALL TYPE OF STUFF. I'm sitting there like, what you mean, Pastor Mike Jr.
? I'm looking then ALL OF A SUDDEN Y'ALL ON TIKTOK, HEY, HEY, HEY, don't come that way with this one right here. SOMEBODY PUT MY picture up.
WE DON'T PLAY ABOUT THAT ONE. AND I'M LIKE, YO, WHAT I DO? HEY, HEY, HEY.
WHAT? WHAT I BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT SAID, "MIKE, >> when you're moving at a certain level, >> chatter happens. >> You so busy focusing on what they saying.
>> How do I need to say that? " Yeah. Yeah.
You >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. This going to be good. You so busy focusing on what they saying, >> not where they stand it from.
>> [cheering] >> You missed that. You missed that. YOU SO BUSY ON WHAT THEY SAYING, not where they saying it from.
SEVEN OF Y'ALL NEED TO GO BACK AND SAY, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU FROM UP HERE. " IN ORDER FOR ME TO GO BACK AND FORTH, THAT MEAN I GOT TO COME DOWN TO YOUR LEVEL [screaming] AND ARGUE WITH YOU. ENLIGHTENED NEHEMIAH.
I'M NOT COMING DOWN for nobody. AM I PREACHING TO ANYBODY? >> Because watch this.
Sit down. Look at this. Silence never attacks growth.
>> You are rarely criticized for your potential. >> Think about that. 10 minutes.
You are never You are rarely criticized for your potential. Who told somebody you thinking about starting a business? You know what they say?
Oh, that'll be so good cuz you always do some you was doing their hair. I'm telling you, you need to get your own shop cuz you be killing. You tell your stylist that every time you do your hair, you need to get your own shop cuz the way you be having me.
Everybody be asking me who do my hair. >> Your barber. I'm Bro, I'm trying to tell you, man.
You I'm tell you you get your own shop. Holler at me. Huh?
Cuz you killing it. Jesus. Who is that over there?
Oh, that's Jesus. Hosana. Hosanna.
>> Hosanna. Cuz they shout when it's prophesied. >> Going to kill you when it manifests.
>> They rarely criticize your potential. Put this in your notes. But they will criticize your progress.
>> They don't mind y'all sleeping together. They can't stand y'all actually living right together. >> In y'all group text, when y'all be acting a fool, y'all be celebrating each other.
What you do? Huh? Did you put Huh?
Girl, they going to stop playing with us. They going to stop playing with us. We going out again tonight and know it.
But then all of a sudden, hey, hey, what we doing this weekend? Oh, me and so and so going to so and so. All right.
What you doing tomorrow? Oh, after we going to brunch. We coming to brunch, but we going after church.
>> Oh, y'all starting to sound alike. Why you they didn't mind when you was acting a fool. >> Say that better.
They like the thought of who you could become. >> They can't handle the reality of you becoming it. >> They like the thought of who you could become.
A lot of people can't handle the reality of you becoming it. That's why Nehemiah 4:1, when Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall, look at what it says. When Sam Ballad and Tobaya heard that the wall was being rebuilt, they mocked and ridiculed us.
They didn't mock us when the wall was down. They mocked us when we started building. They didn't mock the idea, they mocked the rebuilding.
Walls, please put this in your notes, always attract mockers. Walls always attract mockers. I'm going to finish that statement now because it's not on the screen.
I'm going to read it slow. Walls signal territory. Walls always attract mockers because walls signal territory.
Here's what's on the screen. And territory threatens trespassers. >> Pastor Mike said, "Why are you telling me to build walls?
They were telling me I I got too many walls. " No, no, no. You had the wrong walls.
>> No. What I'm telling you now is walls define boundaries. But be careful because boundaries provoke backlash.
>> This is so good. Walls define boundaries. Can you can you write this if you don't mind or remember it?
This is the perfect time January to create boundaries, >> walls. >> Some of you don't have enough walls in your life. >> You let people do whatever they want to do.
And and watch when I say this. Where there are no walls, Jesus Christ. Where there are no walls, everybody has access.
That's why you frustrated with people checking you because you never set boundaries. Anybody feel like they can say anything to you? So, let me ask you a question.
What walls do you have in your relational life? Or can everybody speak on your marriage? >> [clears throat] >> So you done talked about y'all marriage to so many people that now that y'all actually doing good and you want to celebrate, you get mad cuz now they don't celebrate with you cuz all you brought them was negativity.
>> So now you feel like don't nobody want y'all to win when all they ever heard was how y'all lost. >> Because your marriage never had walls. It never had walls.
It never had walls. It never had walls. What walls do you have in your finances?
[clears throat] So anybody can just know how much money you got and how much money you make. Walls in your spiritual life. So now you'll sit on the phone and talk about any religion and any other type.
No, it's certain conversations I'm not in. You don't know how many people call me trying to have debates. Well, Pastor Mike, I was looking at John.
I don't care. Believe what you want to believe. I'm not call I am not an apologist of the text.
I'm a defender of faith. So when it comes time for me to speak my things, I speak it. But I'm not going to sit in a one-on-one and debate with somebody who's convinced they're right.
>> So, I tell you what, I'm going TO LET YOU BELIEVE WHAT you want to believe. I'm going to believe what I want to believe and let's just see what happens. >> Walls in your personal life.
>> Everybody can't come to my house. >> EVERYBODY CAN'T COME around my children. >> EVERYBODY CAN'T COME IN MY personal space.
Cuz where there are no walls, everybody has what? access. And anytime you define who has access, someone who benefited from your openness will always protest your growth.
>> Anytime you define who has access, someone who benefited from your openness will protest your growth. I want to give you homework. I want you to write down various areas of your life and I want you to also under them write who got access to them.
You're going to be shocked. And don't lie. This is for you.
JUST WRITE DOWN WHO YOU TALK to it about. Cuz whoever you went to it about, you gave them de facto access whether you know it or not. >> That's it.
>> Yep. You gave him access. So when it comes to your personal life, who has access to that?
When it comes to your romantic life, who has access to that? Your spiritual walk with Christ, who has access to that? And I came to tell you, if you're not careful, people will try to talk you out of purpose.
Do me a favor, let them talk. Mockery is often the language of those who lost access. [snorts] >> Mockery is often the language of those who lost access.
Nehemiah did not get mocked while the walls were broken. He got mocked when the rebuilding started. I'm going to say this.
I pray three of y'all can receive this. You are in a season of rebuilding. >> I thought six of y'all would have said, "I receive that.
" You are in a season of rebuilding. I want you to do me a favor. This This is so rich.
This is This is so rich. Anybody ever broke something on your body? Torn something on your body?
>> Hurt something on your body? Ever had to go to rehab >> or therapy? >> Yeah.
It hurt, but it worked. Yeah. >> So, so as you begin to think, I was telling them in the back over the next 90 to 120 days, probably this whole year, I want to be thoughtprovoking.
I want you to hear the word, feel a level of conviction, but then also go home and begin to think. >> Let me help you. Thinking hurts.
>> I ain't never heard nobody say that. Thinking hurts. Cuz when I start thinking and examining my life and seeing the places where I could be better, it brings up emotions and feelings that feel like failure when it's just an MRI.
[cheering] >> No, I want you TO GO HOME AND BE LIKE, "Oh my God, I talk too much. " >> Cuz once YOU SEE YOU DONE TALKED TO 15 PEOPLE, it makes you realize, "Father God, I repent. " Yeah.
>> See, some of you, I WANT YOU TO GROW TO A PLACE WHERE you can look at a person and say, "Come here. I want to say this to you. I repent early on.
I let too many people between us and it caused us way more pain than we should have caused. But I want us to both make a promise today. It's a wall going up.
>> Mama can't ask me certain stuff. >> Daddy can't ask me certain. I love y'all, but y'all can't be in this right here.
>> I love y'all. I'm I'm ready to be what God called me. " Because walls do not offend the faithful, >> but they will expose the entitled.
>> Y'all don't like me today. >> Walls do not offend the faithful, but they will expose the entitled. >> There are too many people in your life if you're going to somebody shout become.
>> Become. >> You're going to have to identify the entitled. >> You're going to have to identify those that are exceptionally entitled.
There are people there are people who feel like they are entitled to certain levels of access in your life. >> THAT IS NOT BIBLICAL OR PRACTICAL. >> Even Jesus would LOOK AT THE DISCIPLES AND SAY, "Y'all go ahead and go.
I need a minute by myself. " >> He had the 12, then he had the three. CUZ HE REALIZED EVEN THOUGH I HAD A GOOD 12, all of them couldn't handle all of me.
>> Hear me when I say this. A wall is not rejection. But it is, put this in your notes, revelation.
>> It reveals who benefited from your vulnerability. It reveals who preferred your openness without accountability. It reveals who mistook your grace for permission.
That's why Matthew 7:6 says, look at the scripture we never read. Don't waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don't throw your pearls to pigs.
>> They will trample with the pearls, then turn and attack you. Cuz not everyone who hears you is assigned to handle you. Just because they listening don't mean they were assigned to handle you.
Criticism, this might be worth writing, is often proof you stepped out of agreement with small thinking. And what I've discovered in my life is that if everyone understands me, I might be underdeveloped. Yes.
>> If everyone understands you, you may be underdeveloped. And if no one resists you, you may be underbuilt. This is so good.
So do me a favor. Let do me a favor. Let them talk while you build.
>> Let them talk while you build. >> They gonna have a lot to say. people, you you I'm I'm speaking this over your life and I pray you can receive it.
Failure is not an option for you this year. >> God told me that I am opening doors for them this year. >> What you allow to distract you or your lack of boundaries is what's going to pull you out of his presence.
>> This why I need you to understand, this is why I'm trying to tell you because hear me when I say this. I am in a season of rebuilding. And rebuilding isn't negative.
>> That doesn't mean failure. Can I ask you a question? Who's changed your bedspread recently?
Anybody? Who's changed your sheets recently? Anybody?
>> Did your old sheets fail? It was just what? >> Rebuilding don't mean you failed.
Sometimes it's just time. >> It's just time. >> It's just time.
I had to rebuild how I communicate with my oldest son. He's 19 now. So me telling him what to do had to change.
I had to rebuild it to now asking him. I had to rebuild to say now I'm finding out I'm on the outside of certain boundaries. Now I'm like, whoa.
Hey. Hey, what's going on? And and that and as I act right, it's cuz y'all don't talk about that cuz in your head they babies.
That's a man now. >> I got to respect them as such. And as I act right, you know what happens now?
Dad, I'm going to do so and so so and so. All right, play boy. Do your thing, boy.
All right. Hey, doing so and so. Hey, anything you need to talk about?
All right, do your thing. All right, I love you. So then boom, I don't get offended when he found somebody else to pour his heart to.
You could have came and No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I trust your v I you're talking to them cuz I saw you was going to need them nine years ago. >> I put the village around them.
I need to let the village be the village. >> And what I'm really not realizing now is I'm in a complete rebuild of my life. >> I don't know who I am outside of being their daddy.
>> I don't know who I am outside of going to football practices. So now I'm sitting there like, "Okay, it's time to rebuild. What more can I become?
Yeah. >> What do I need to let go of? What needs to change in me?
>> The me last year not going to work this year. >> And I speak over your life, not that God will do, cuz that's already settled. >> But that you will do, >> what is necessary for God's will do to bless you.
Father, in the name of Jesus, >> oo, I speak by faith >> a level of conviction to become >> that God, they leave this place and think to themselves, God, I'm ready. I am ready to step into the fullness of who you called me to be. I'm done just surviving.
I'm ready to thrive. I'm done just going along to get along and just living day by day, just passing time. I'm ready to pursue you like never before.
Father, in the name of Jesus, oh, I ask that you pour out your spirit on us. Move in ways like never before. It's in Jesus' name we pray.
[music] And everybody said, jump on your feet and give God a hand right there. Come on. You may be in this room right now and you need to give your life to Christ.
You may be watching me and you need to give your life to Christ. Let me say this. You may need to rededicate your life.
That's just rebuilding. Falling in love with Jesus. The best thing I've ever done.
So, right where you are, I'm not putting you on the spot. If you can just repeat after me and say, "Lord, come into my heart. Make me over again.
I confess with my mouth. I believe with my heart that you rose from the dead with all power in your hand. And right now [clears throat] by faith I'm saved.
Clap your hands, church. That's all it takes.
