[Music] [Applause] [Music] hello I'm Adelina an Enterprise support engineer working in Seattle Washington today I'm going to show you how to create and activate an AWS account let's get started first we're going to open the Amazon web services homepage choose create an AWS account note that if you signed up for AWS recently we'll choose the option sign into the console if create a new AWS account is not visible to you choose sign into a different account and then choose create a new AWS account enter your email in the root user email space and then edit
the account name to your preference it's important to note that if your account is a professional AWS account then it's a best practice to use the corporate distribution list instead of personal email address this helps our company retain access to the AWS account if an employee changes roles or leaves the company double check your information and then choose verify email address a verification email will be sent to the email address that you provided enter the verification code provided and then choose verify note that the code may take a few minutes to arrive to your inbox
if the a lotted time has passed then also check Spam folders after the account has been verified it's time to create your password enter your root user password and then choose continue after your new AWS account has been created it's time to to add your contact information select personal or business account note that both personal and business accounts have the same features and functions enter your personal or business information it's important to note that for AWS business accounts is a best practice to enter the company phone number rather than a personal phone number this helps
your company retain access to the AWS account if an employee changes roles or leaves the company read and accept the AWS customer agreement and then choose continue after we've add the contact information add a payment method to the account on the billing information page enter the information for your preferred payment method choose verify an add if you want to use a different billing address for your AWS billing information choose a new address and then choose verify and continue it's important to know that you can't continue the sign up process until there's a valid payment method
on the account after the payment method has been added we will then verify the phone number on file on the confirm your identity page select one of the contact methods to receive a verification code select your phone number country or region code from the list enter a phone number where you can be reached within a few minutes for verification if you're given a capture then enter the display code and submit the automated system will then contact you enter the pin received and then click continue and now you know how to create and activate a new
