[Music] how's it going folks and welcome back to the channel I'm your host low tier hero and in today's video we are going to be covering ritual Beast a brand new deck that is taking Yu-Gi-Oh by storm and it's been dubbed the headache deck and also the toughest deck to Pilot in all of Yu-Gi-Oh's history ritual Beast a deck strategy that has been gaining a lot of traction it's coming off of an event win it's topping in ycs and overall the deck has been tapped and cracked by many Yu-Gi-Oh players and in this counter guide
we're going to be determining and looking at the counters choke points and weaknesses so that we can get better at playing against this ritual Beast strategy the question of these counter guides is always how can we beat ritual Beast this deck has many many many many many many many lines I've played against it and they just have so many outs and the skill ceiling is very very high in comparison to other meta decks and Yu-Gi-Oh strategies in this counter guide we're going to cover the following key cards top cards to focus on and remember went
to hand trap choke points and weaknesses in their combos I say that very Loosely direct counters board Breakers and to end the videos of course we have floodgates full disclosure while I have tested these counters out so you don't have to I must state that the ritual Beast deck is very fluid and very adaptable the deck has over five lines of combos that can really play through various interruptions and negates therefore please watch this with an open mind consider your skill the opponent's skill and the ritual Beast variant and test these techs out come back
to the video and reference it if you need to as I aim to make these counter guides a coherent and reliable source for you thank you for watching please don't forget to subscribe to the channel and hit that notification Bell so you don't miss any new videos and live streams the counter guides do require a lot of time and investment therefore I would be Beyond appreciative if you could give this video a like to get it onto that YouTube algorithm let's go ahead and get started the key cards for the ritual be deck to begin
with we've got spiritual Beast kahaw this is the main combo starter of the deck you can banish one ritual Beast card from your deck face up the reason this card is important is because kenah Hawk will almost always send spiritual Beast Tamer Laura which triggers Laura to special summon one ritual Beast monster from the deck the next card is ritual Beast ulti kahaw an amazing Searcher and combo extender this card only needs one spiritual beast and one ritual Beast Tamer to fuse its importance to the strategy is because it adds consistency and board presence on
summon it can Target two of their banished ritual beast cards to return them to the graveyard and on resolution it adds a ritual Beast card from deck to hand its secondary effect which is a quickplay effect and will almost always be chained on to itself is during either player's turn you can return this card you control to the extra deck then Target two of your banished monsters one ritual Beast Tamer and one spiritual Beast special summon them in defense mode up next we've got spiritual Beast Ram pangu a secondary combo starter R pangu is a
solid backup starter to kahaw because it can banish a ritual beast from the extra deck and send a ritual beast from the deck to the graveyard to load up their banished and graveyard zones the reason this card is important is because pangu will almost always send spiritual Beast Tamer Laura to the graveyard this sets up future contact Fusion plays ritual Beast Tamer Elder Elder is a decent extender it's used to start the ritual Beast line that protects it from neiru and sets up the Proto play and in addition it also allows a secondary normal summon
which most times means summoning a canah hawk it's a great way to get more monsters on board and scale the end board even higher and the last key card of this strategy is spiritual Beast Tamer Laura if this card is banished you can special summon one ritual beast from your deck this card is another key piece to the strategy because it's always going to get banished by either kahaw or through pangu's foolish burial type effect these are the main cards to the ritual Beast deck focus on them interrupt or negate these cards and you should
in theory have a better match against the ritual Beast strategy now let's jump into the combo this time around in addition to covering Ash Blossom infinite impermanence which also encompasses effect veiler and ghost mner we will be adding a new hand trap to this segment why well because this hand trap is detrimental against rual beasts I don't want to include it in the direct counters because if you can successfully get this card off and resolved you shut down in theory and arguably the entire strategy that card is Nibiru we're going to discuss one combo line
and this combo line has such an amazing output and that is the canah hawk Line This is the normal go-to combo for ritual Beast players therefore it is important to learn the combo from start to finish so that you can see when the best time for hand traps will be call it a choke point a weakness whatever you like these are arguably the best moments to hit in an effort to derail the ritual Beast strategy let's begin kenah Hawk will be normal summon to the board and its effect will be activated it's clear here that
infinite impermanence will be a crucial card to begin with if you do not stop the kenah Hawk kenah Hawk will send spiritual Beast Tamer Laura from the deck to the banished Zone spiritual Beast Tamer Laura will trigger when sent to the banished Zone and attempt to special summon a ritual beast from deck to the field using Ash against the spiritual Beast Tamer Laura will be a solid Choice as this will in theory prevent further escalation of the ritual Beast board if it resolves typically any ritual Beast can be special summoned but a popular choice that
I have been seeing during testing was ritual Beast Tamer Laura ritual Beast Tamer Laura and kahaw will fuse into ulti kahaw ulti kah Hawk's effect will be activated on summon to Target Two banish ritual beast cards and return them to the graveyard to search for a ritual Beast card and then it will chain its second quickplay effect to Target one ritual beast and one spiritual Beast monster from their banished Zone and special them to the board here It's Tricky if you activate Ash on ulti kah Hawk's first effect then you're fine great choice and response
but it will still chain its second effect to special summon two monsters back to the field if you try and use impermanence on Alti khawk second effect you will fail as you will not have a legal Target what do I mean by that the reason why is because UL canah Hawk's second effect to send itself back to the deck is cost therefore it will Dodger impermanence mourner and veiler ulti CAW will resolve and add a ritual Beast card from deck to hand special summon one ritual beast and spiritual Beast monster to board and return a
banished ritual Beast back to the graveyard at this juncture Nibiru is your best friend activate it as this will be the fifth summon eat up the board call it a day hopefully of course a ritual piece player will still potentially have followup as they will have four additional cards still in hand yes four cards still in hand that is how important and crucial kahaw is to the deck because so far everything has been possible because of kahaw let's continue the combo as if neiro was not used the card searched off of Alti kenah Hawk is
ritual Beast Tamer win the card special summoned Are Spiritual Beast Tamer Laura and kahaw and the card return to the graveyard is spiritual Beast Tamer Laura what is crazy about this entire strategy is that most of the spiritual and ritual Beast monsters are soft once per turns therefore kah Hawk being returned to the field will allow its effect to once again be used if you haven't already done so in permanence will be a solid Choice against canah Hawk's second appearance and effect but it may not be as impactful as the first canah Hawk's opening effect
kah Hawk will now banish the pangu from the deck kah Hawk and Laura will be used to link summon into ritual Beast ulti fos ritual Beast ulti falal will use its effect to banish canah Hawk and Grave to gain an additional normal summon and permanence here will be very very good if you don't impermanence then the ritual Beast player will also have the option to getting a second normal summon and in addition ritual Beast ult Falco can return itself to the board to special summon one ritual and one spiritual beast from the banish Zone to
the board if it resolves so as you can see one card has initiated all of these lines it's crazy kenah Hawk is your number one target that's Public Enemy Number One ritual Beast Tamer win will be normal summoned off the effect of ritual Beast ulti Falco ritual Beast Tamer win will activate and Target rampengu to special summon it from the banish Zone to the field impermanence will be very good here to prevent board escalation preventing ramp pangu from coming back to the board ramp pangu will be special summon to the board and ramp pangu will
activate to send ritual Beast TIG Gaia from the extra deck to the banish Zone and spiritual Beast Tamer window from the deck to the graveyard please impermanence here if you haven't already done so it's a foolish burial such a great effect ritual Beast Tamer low run spiritual Beast Tamer window will be used to fuse into ritual Beast ulti noi Drago on the seven of ritual Beast ulti noi Drago please neiru ritual Beast Tamer win and pengu will be used to fuse into another ulti kahaw Neu here this is probably and arguably your last and best
option on Wu niru before it's too late and then the deck will eventually end up on a board with IP mascarena protos ritual Beast ulti Ray artari ritual beast steeds and with protos either calling fire or dark and if you're playing fire or dark are arguably you have no turn on the followup the deck is resilient strong in terms of recovery and and offense and does require a high skill ceiling to play therefore in addition to knowing the combo line understanding where to hand trap and why each move can be a choke point we also
rely on the misplays of the opponents counters influence player mentality if you can derail them they may get stuck and do terrible lines and that is the focal point of these counter guides let's reiterate the hand trap lines in ranking order and ranking order the best targets for Blossom Are Spiritual Beast Tamer Laura ulti kahaw and penu in ranking order the best targets for impermanence are canah Hawk ramenu Elder ritual Beast ulti fos and ritual Beast Tamer win and in ranking order the best time to use neiru against this strategy will be after ulti kah
Hawk's effect has resolved to special summon the one spiritual and one ritual beast on the additional normal summon after ritual Beast ult Falco's effect on the second summon of ulti kahaw and on the summon of ritual Beast ulti noi Drago so you've got four options on when you can drop neiru and still get away with it in theory we have learned the key cards studied and referenced their main combo so in addition to the generic and mainstream hand traps what other counters exist having played tested against the deck and trial and errored quite a few
counters have a list of five counters for you some of these counters will be specific to the ritual Beast deck while other counters will be generic meaning the counter is effective against ritual beast and against the meta let's begin we we will discuss the five counters and at the end of showing all the counters available to directly use against the ritual Beast deck I will rank them in most effective to decent to begin with we have two cards that arguably have the same effect except one lingers while the other doesn't it's chaos Hunter and artifact
lcia the deck strategy heavily relies on graveyard and banishing similar to fluer Reas and mechanics of building their board without access to banish cards it's reasonable to expect that the ritual Beast player will end their turn with a mediocre board giving you the opportunity to gain Advantage ghost ogre and snow rabbit is a nice Tech send their kenah hawk or whichever ritual spiritual monster that is on board and attempt to prevent a fusion in order to fuse the opponent needs to control the monsters therefore if they're in the graveyard a nice slowdown can prove beneficial
it also helps beat out to The Inheritance Dark Ruler no more has been seen a spike at least during my testing and at my locals shutting down Gia pello noi Drago and mascarena will be important in order for you to play because noi Drago prevents ritual beast cards from being targeted and Gaia acts as an omni negate the last card on the five counters list is Ghost Bell on the Haunted Mansion a decent Tech against the deck by preventing monsters from being moved from the graveyard which the deck does tend to do more often than
not through the use of Laura for example but keep in mind that ghost Bell cannot stop Fusion summons as they do not start a chain before we rank these cards I do have two honorable mentions the first one is contact c contact C is strong ritual Beast Fusion all the time that's their strategy but if contact C is on the board not only will you shut down their entire Fusion mechanic but they won't be able to link into ritual Beast ulti fos however most decks run generic extra deck monsters so while contact SE can be
a great disruptor in theory link summon into little Knight or mascarena will get them back on track and the last honorable mention is no material this is a solid option use it against the special summon monsters such as Ken Haw penu Lara or any other special summon monster and you can really slow down the strategy the only issue that I have with this card was I have to control no cards a solid option going second but Dead on Arrival if you don't draw an opening hand here's the list of direct counters in ranking order please
keep in mind I do my best to find counters that are generic but also specific such as the lanan chaos Hunter play I'll leave it up to you to determine which ratios and Texs work best for you your play style and strategy chemistry moving on to board Breakers of course we have the lineup of our tried and true Kaiju lava Golem and Ross fur mode because noi Drago protects cards that do not Target will be beneficial for for you in addition we also have lightning Sor geek evenly matched in Harpy's feather duster and before we
end our counter guide by heading to the floodgates list we have our which engine is the better option against the ritual Beast deck the best engine against a ritual Beast deck is the cira engine three fener two to3 unicorn and one to2 birth the fact that you can banish the ritual cards face down making them unknown and unusable for the opponent that will effectively and efficiently lock the opponent out of their main strategy which is to fuse and reuse finally we've made made it to floodgates Imperial Iron Wall necro Valley Soul drain will lock out
banished and graveyard effects and movements and necro Valley will control the graveyard no fusions no play summon breaker the alternative to summon limit if you can take this card sending the opponent straight to the end phase by the third summon is detrimental to any meta deck and last but not least we've got the black goat laughs and prohibition call out kah Hawk GG well there you have it folks a complete breakdown on how to counter the ritual Beast deck I don't ever want to hear anyone say I don't know when and where to hand trap
or what should I take against the ritual Beast deck I got you my goal is to share the knowledge through informative and educational vide so that you can become a better dualist don't forget to like share and subscribe and until next time my friends let's go beat down some ritual Beast take care and good luck
