NASA awarded SpaceX a $1.6 billion contract yeah really really talented team and they're working hard to deliver supplies to the International Space Station a breakthrough that set SpaceX on a path to become one of the leading players in the space industry but he didn't stop there in 2004 he joined Tesla Motors an electric car startup founded by Engineers Martin Eberhard and Mark tarpening musk wasn't the original founder but he quickly became Tesla's largest investor and later its CEO and product architect his vision was to create high performance electric vehicles that could compete with traditional gasoline
powered cars and it was pulling waves while Tesla was making waves on the road SpaceX was achieving new milestones in the sky in 2012 spacex's Dragon spacecraft became the first privately developed vehicle to dock with the International Space Station another historic achievement SpaceX continued to push boundaries with the development of the Falcon 9 a reusable rocket designed to reduce the cost of space launches reusability was key to musk's goal of making space travel affordable and after numerous attempts SpaceX successfully landed the Falcon 99's first stage back on Earth marking the beginning of a new era
