[Music] All Points must be scored inside of the competition area there will be no concrete grappling so if my limbs or torso in any way touch the concrete outside of the mat area no points will be scored the match will be stopped and started back in the center if our torsos touch the white okay now we have different mat setups uh with different squares cuz over the years we have different setups but all of our mats are all 24x 24 okay so they're the same actual size mat but the white on some of our mats
are slightly different off by uh 12 to 18 in so what we want to have is the understanding that one we can't grapple on the concrete and we can't grapple on the next mat okay so once we're out of our competition area there is zero points being scored once our torsos touch okay once our torso and including our head touch the mat then we have to stop the match and reenter it so if I'm in my opponent's side control and I have my foot like this I'm not out of bounds you see so that's why
it has to be our torso so if we're over here like this now it's different head torso starts touching the mat in any way doesn't have to be like over it but then it starts to get too dangerous close to the concrete we need to change the position so it doesn't matter if it's your torso or the head or maybe even if it's the if it's this way right he starts going this way if his hips are on the mat or his torso on the mat for sure if his feet go on the concrete for
sure he's out of the competition area so we want to ensure that we don't score points as a referee outside of the competition area or if our torsos are on or past the white arms legs something like that doesn't matter so much it's the Torso and the head that we're worried about going and hitting uh our friends competing on the next M or hitting the concrete so that's what we're worried about and you can understand our competition area guidelines that way sometimes my opponent's natural reaction may be going out of bound so if I have
an noral product for example it's one of the better ones to show and my opponent makes the natural reaction of rolling out of bounds for example if we end up all the way out of bounds I can still score if I started in bounds and finished in the uh in the competition area but I won't score if we go all the way out of bounds okay but if I am doing a submission let's go back to L budy if I am doing a submission and we're a little bit closer to the out of bounds here
and I'm attacking a sub and then we start to go like let's just say we move out of bounds a little bit right we start to move out of bounds and I'm attacking a submission the referee will stop the match and the person who was attacking the uh submission the person that was attacking the submission will be awarded two points we don't recreate a sub in the center so the person who was attacking will be awarded to and the guys will be standing on their feet and neutral and restart that's only if it's natural reaction
was to escapee and and ended up making him go out of bounds if he fleed the mat that's completely different and that's a DQ
