Hi, you alright everyone? All good with you too I'm good too Hold on a second Last video, people said that I'm too messy, I'm gonna organise this I've just arrived from a trip I've just arrived in England I won't fix this And. .
. I'm not getting this all fixed You have nothing to do with my life I've just arrived, gee At least this paper here, what is this? To the bin I haven't sorted out my luggage, it's all messy here I"m late to film this, I have 45 minutes to upload this video So I gotta hurry because I am punctual!
I hope this video makes it on time, otherwise I'll be wrong Good that you're here again It's really good to talk to you On this wonderful day, Monday And I have something to tell you I've finished reading da Vinci's biography It's over, it's an extremely good book I recommend it, if you enjoy the arts, if you enjoy history If you enjoy science, if you enjoy engineering If you enjoy odontology My goodness, countless things If you enjoy aqueducts If you enjoy birds If you enjoy anatomy My goodness, what a book While I was finishing this book, I was asking God, like What am I gonna read now, God? And then, as soon as I got here, I noticed this package from Impacto Publishers Who've sent me this wonderful book, here I really wanted this book God is so good that as soon as I finished one, I got the other This is the book I'm gonna read now, by Bob Sorge But I want to say this, Angelo Bazzo I also have the book, not only you, got it If you also want this book, check their website down here And you can buy it This advertisement I'm doing Isn't paid, but they're my friends I learn a lot from them And the books are on sale So go to their website, and get them, mate IT's sure to be good for you, get this book by Bob as well And get others on sale, too It will be good for you But what I wanted to talk about today Here's the deal I believe that, for young people, it's much more difficult To go on missions I'm gonna explain it It's not that it's hard for them to go out travelling on missions etc. But, depending on the context of the mission For example, if you're out on a mission to Greenland It's normal that you should take winter clothes, because it's terrible cold there You go to Greenland You will learn how to make fire If you ever go camping like the inuit You might probably learn how to fish And how to move and walk on snow And have dogs that take you around Greenland You will enter the culture, and if you go to India It's the same, if you go to Guatemala, same thing, if you go to native americans It's the same thing, but what I mean is You enter other people's cultures In order to preach the gospel to them Right?
But for young people, like me and you, you and me And I'm gonna tell you why Because what we don't get is That just as the natives have their culture Just as the himalayans have their culture Just as the indians have their culture Young people also have their culture There is a global young culture There is a young culture And why is it harder to handle them? Because this young global culture Is this that we call "wordly" Oh, the "wordly culture", that's "worldly culture" Now, to work in Greenland We are ready to become inuits To work with natives, we are ready to eat fish for months And catch them To go to Malaysia, we are ready to enter their culture Now, to work with young people these days We call them "wordly" And we resist entering their culture And when there's people willing to enter this global young culture We say that they're lost That they're worldy blah-blah-blah This video is a hard one But what do I really mean with this Of course there's a thin line But we can't, whatsoever Become an alienated Christian people And treat all that the culture does, lives and reads As merely "worldy", got it? Why is it that, to eat fish, or wear feathers It's ok, but for young people, to read what they read To watch what they watch To listen to what they listen to Is "worldy", you know?
We cannot understand their mind, their mentality The language they speak How are we supposed to take the Gospel to them? If you're watching this video and instantly thinking "Yeah, that's it! " "Let's go clubbing!
" Let me clarify what it means to understand and speak their language It's not living a life like theirs It's understanding and speaking the same language Pay attention I was reading about Leonardo da Vinci Why? Because I enjoy the arts, I enjoy history And I want to know about the history of Europe Which was laid upon the foundations of Art, since the Renaissance And all the currents of thought I want to understand And, then, as I begin to read this book I surprisingly get in a plane to Italy And, in the plane, to Italy A girl sits next to me When this girl sat next to me, I said "Hi, you alright? " She said "All right" I said "Alright" I asked her "Do you live in England?
" She said "Yeah, I live in that place" I asked her "What do you do there? " She said "Oh, I study Art History" Mate, when she said "I study Art History" I began "Oh, really, you study Art History? " "Because shot, shot, shot" I began to tell her all that I'd learned Over the course of that week, reading a book about this You get it?
I was like, oh mate I could speak her language, up until the point "Yeah, you know, how beautiful, the Creation, wonderful" I got the part when I turned around and asked her "Do you believe in God? " But until I got to the question "Do you believe in God? " I spoke her language, we became friends You get it?
She realised I wasn't an alienated People often go and "I'm gonna tell you about Jesus" and everything else is wrong And everything else is bullshit Everything else is devilish No, I must enter the culture to speak their language Does this mean that I gotta sin? No That I will not know whose it is, I've forgotten it Which says "You can do evertyhing" "You can do everything, but don't sin" You get it? The problem is with sin But, before the Church of these days, that's complicated Before such a mentality, it's hard Because this global young culture Is exactly what we call "worldly" But that's the culture I gotta reach out for But then I have to listen to bullshit I gotta listen to people calling me "lost" People telling me that I "walk like them" You know?
But, what can I do? What can I do? What I really want is to reach for them But you gotta have balance and you gotta know what you're doing But, now, what I really wanna tell you today Is that you shouldn't be alienated You needn't listen to their music You needn't dress up like them, but understand it To speak their language, to understand them To understand their mentality Why do I often listen to "secular" music?
Why? Because I want to listen to the souls of young people I wanna hear what they hear I wanna know their thoughts What influences them So that I can go to them and they might know "That's not an dumbass irritating believer" That's reasonable I remember, in Poland This guy "Wow, you guys are different, we can actually talk to you" "You listen to me, because, usually, when I speak to Christians" "They never let me speak, they are the only ones with reason" Then you lose your argument, because people don't only live around Jesus There is a whole world, which they perceive as the real world And we must understand this real world, to interact with them And it ain't easy, it's hard But we must be ready to do this And love them And love God above all things So loving Him above all else and our neighbour like ourselves So what I wanna tell you is Read, study, seek, do not alienate yourself Understand the worldly culture For you to influence this world For you to be, and speak, and help people Find salvation Right? If you were going to India, you would understand the culture of India You're in the global young culture?
Understand this global young culture, and preach Ok? That's it God bless you, and don't you lose yourself along the way, right Otherwise, you're finished See, see, see'ya.
