[Music] third John chapter [Music] 1 thir John that's right pmts Serve the People of God oh thank you Jesus somebody said can you clap your hands for our pmts Hallelujah I'm going to read one verse tonight and I'm going to have you out Here real quick tonight I promise you now listen to me tonight's teaching will be a little bit different for me I brought people to teach with me and we're going going to have an incredible conversation tonight amen you're also going to get the opportunity to ask questions tonight but what I want you
to do when it comes to asking questions I want you to write your questions on Something and we have two people uh Miss April Neville and Miss Jasmine Johnson you will give them your question they will ask the question for you you can come up with them but they will ask a question for you we will do that periodically through the conversation we don't have to wait till the end to do that so if we're on a topic and you hear us addressing that topic feel free to walk up give them the question and then
we will hear your Question and we will have a conversation those of you that are online our E Church director April Neville has a team that is looking for your questions and we want your questions we're going to do this for about 50 minutes to an hour and then we're going to dismiss and let you go we're not going to be here all night but we're going to do that quickly and I think we're going to have a good time tonight amen I want to go from one verse tonight 3rd John 1 and two when
you got It say amen amen can we read it together ready read beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy Soul Prosper can we read it again with power can we read it again out loud uh I think we can stop playing that beautiful [Music] melodic piano and maybe they'll push it out with some power all right ready read beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health Even as thy soul prosp I want to teach a simple subject tonight uh for
a few minutes and have a conversation for a few minutes about one simple topic and when I say it I want you to say it after me body language body language you may be seated I want to talk about body language now the objective tonight conversation and teaching is to unpack the Significance of the body and I'm not trying to do what we've done and through history me coming up in the church to limit the conversation on the body to just a sin vessel or carnality or the flesh what I want to do is I
want you to see the body in its state that God created it for you so that you can understand what God gave you somebody shout hallelujah hall now the institutional church has always built its foundation upon the spirit Rightfully so and our existence hinges upon the gift the gift of the spirit and its Expressions the the expressions of the gift of the spirit are housed in another gift that we don't talk about and that gift is the body somebody shout the body see what's interesting is that the body is not really valued in the church
until it gets frail or fails once it gets frail or fails we exhaust the church with prayer Supplication so that the prayers of the righteous can heal the body but I think it's interesting that we've done Church a disservice by not showing you that the body is a gift from God it is not just flesh and meat and cality and a sin vessel your body was the first thing God made before he dropped his spirit inside of it he crafted it from the ground he formed it he fashioned it and it was not until the
body was created that he said there was A house that I can actually live in after he formed it and fasted he blew into it and then it became a living soul but it was a body before it was a living Soul it was a body before it housed the spirit of God he put the sen you and the Flesh on your body and the interesting thing is you only get one body it is a gift from God and some people don't think it's a gift but 1 Corinthians 6:19 20 says do you not know
that your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost listen to him he said who is in you look at what he says whom you have received from God he says so you received the body not from your mother and your father but you receive the body from God well if you receive the body from God what is God God is Spirit God is truth even God loved the body so much that he himself created his own body we don't have Jesus without a body Jesus is God in the body so you got Jesus who
is God in the body you have the godhead the expression of God Spirit God flesh all telling us that you're a tripart just like God but if you don't do what it takes to take care of the temple that God decides to use in it's not about just being holy come on come on it's also so about being healthy because the state of your body will determine how long the spirit can Live in it there is no need for your gift of Prophecy if you have no body for it to live in there is no
need for your gift of speaking in tongues if there are no lips for them to use your body is important it is a gift from God it is the temple that God uses and God is so unique that even in his mind to say it's going to take a significant body for them to represent me in the earth so when God forms you And when God Fashions you he creates you in such a way that you have 207 bones it could possibly be depending on the structure of your body between 207 and 213 bones so
you have this skeletal system that supports every everything that you're going to be but the interesting thing about the skeletal system that it needs nutrients to be strong it needs protein it needs calcium it needs all this milk just like your spirit needs a word your body needs one Too sir yes sir and I think it's shame that we come here and we only want our spirit lifted but it's up to you to take care of your body and tonight I want to tackle your body not me personally tackle your body but in Topic in
theory in conversation we want to talk about being in health and I brought a definition uh to you from the World Health Organization I want you to put that up on the screen so they can see that uh that definition is going to show you that your health is More Than Just Fitness but it's also your social well-being it's how you live it's your finances it's it's it's how you are medically it's how you are uh mentally it's how you are physically it is a combination of everything that God has put you in this Earth
so when you read the scripture third John which if you Were anything like me coming up and they told you I wish above all things that you should prosper and be in good health as your soul Prosper that's how the Pentecostal would put it on the end as your soul Prosper because everything was about the soul nothing about your body and then they would tell you wait a minute Joel exercise profited little so let's go backwards let's go backwards as your soul prospers he says I want you to be in good health as your Soul
prospers so what is he telling gayes this is John talking to gaes and when he's talking to gayes he's telling them I love the fact that you love me he said I love the fact that you want to worship he said but I wish the rest of you would Prosper like your soul is prospering see when you look at it and connected together within its context where we've done a disservice in church is tried to get your soul together and then make you think that the body Doesn't matter but your soul is only necessary for
as long as your body will allow it to live in the Earth so he says I know your soul is prospering but I need your body so when he says body what is he talking about he's not just talking about Fitness he's talking about you how you are socially he's talking about how you are psychologically how you are emotionally how you are financially what he's trying to get you to see is I don't just want You shouting and speaking in tongues come on because then you become a witness that we cannot trust because there is
nothing else about you that is healthy come on oh I wish I had a witness in here so if you are anything like some of us you came up with some of the most anointed people were the poorest people some of the most anointed people were the brokest people some of the most anointed people don't have any relationships they have no connections They're just by themselves saved Sanctified filled full of the Holy Ghost and nothing else lonely mad sad up set cannot process can't think on their own they're messed up psychologically mentally but they saved
now I'm not here to Discount salvation what I'm here to tell you is your body matters to God but God's not coming down here to Make you eat right he's not coming here to to make you not fornicate why did I bring up fornication because of that text about when he says did you not know your body is the temple of God it's tied to sexual sin all right it's tied to sexual sin in that text what he's simply saying is look every sin you do outside every sin you do is outside of your body
but this particular sin it happens to your body Within your body so then it's not about just living holy it's about living healthy with your body he's saying because when you do this and have multiple partners you risk the opportunity of bringing disease and damage to the body so when he's talking to us we've got to understand that he's only given us one body and it is a gift from the spirit it is not the gift of the spirit but it is the gift from the spirit so you have to ask yourself Question how am
I handling my body sir sir how am I handling psychologically emotionally financially how am I handling it socially I hope y'all okay with this kind of talking is y'all okay with this how am I handling my body and then we move in and just depose that to the text that says exercise profited little that does not mean it doesn't profit what is little in context little in context is is that while you're in Your body you're here at a certain point a set time I was appointed a man to be born and a man to
die time is little compared to Eternity time is nothing compared to Eternity so when he says it profited little he's trying to tell you yes it profit little but it profits it's not that it does not profit it profits it's just in comparison the soul or the spirit and the body this one's going to live forever this one has A certain amount of time to live but how you Ste with your body will determine if you decrease your time come on Sir come on come on come on come on so our conversation tonight is about
all these areas on when it comes to the body on this stage with me I've got somebody that's representing your body financially what does your money look like how has your soul affected the Expressions when it comes to finances what is your body language I've got someone on this stage today that's going to talk to you about your diet it's going to talk to you about your food selection what you're choosing to eat how are you handling your body when you go to McDonald's and when you choose to go to Wendy's and you have all
the grease that's sinking in your body how are you Handling it we're not here to make you feel bad I'm here to make you think we're also going to look at it medicinally you have a doctor or maybe some of you wish you had one you don't have the insurance but you've got doctors that are looking at how to help you live longer how to to facilitate what's going on in your body we're also going to look at it theologically what does that look like when I'm here in church and I'm giving God the glory
I'm A part of the body of Christ but everything else in my body is jacked up we want to talk about that and then we also want to talk about it from a mental health perspective we've got a therapist here to help you look at what does my body how is it expressing what's going on in my soul from a therapeutic place with anxiety disorders and all of the frustration and grief and we want to talk about it tonight and I want to start with Dr Jill clap your hands and Give God glory for the
greatest doctor on the planet let's talk about the body well sir that ooh we what what what you know I um first of all thank you so much for for us doing this so important one of the things that I think um is important that we understand as you said how marvelous the body is how it is a a gift that has been given to us the body is such an incredible creation that it was even created to repair Itself but if you do not give it what it needs to repair itself it cannot so
every time you stand sit wake walk you have to think about what it takes for all of that to happen we were talking a little bit before uh we came out and we talked about how so many of us are dying I would add to what you said uh Pastor uh that we are dying quickly because we are not taking care of ourselves in the way that we should And what we think is the diseases that we have are things that are genetic and inevitable and so we think because our parents had sickness we think
because our aunts and uncles had sickness that it is inevitable that it comes to us too so the first thing we have to understand is that it is mostly under our control so you're saying that uh just because it's in my bloodline that don't mean I have to have it most of the chronic diseases That we have are not genetic wow when what are some of the things we can do to lose that mindset because I've heard that for years your granddaddy died of cancer your grandama and died cancer you need to go and get
checked because there's a you know 60% chance your chance are high your chances are high that you may catch that disease so there are several things and I'm not going to take all night first you got to know that there's genetics and then There's epigenetics okay genetics is what do the genes say epigenetics is how do they express the El just because you have a genetic propensity for does not mean that those genes have to express themselves in that way wow so there are things that can happen to you in the womb that can affect
generations to come Jesus Christ let let me let me let me ask you this well let me CU you got me Going Jay when it comes to mental health when we are focusing on what she just said there uh you know a lot of people don't know that I've heard all my life granddaddy died of cancer granddaddy this cancer cancer cancer cancer cancer how does that affect a person's mindset and does worrying about it and creating anxiety about it increase the chances of you actually getting cancer and that could go to either one of you
twoo yeah absolutely and to uh to add And ductail what she just said from the Epic genetics when they first began studying this they study up mice and what they realized after studying these mice the mice that were the grandparents of the mice that actually had the disease they didn't have it but they feared it wow so so many times it's environmental and also there's a social construct that if I'm not uh technically uh connected to it directly but indirectly there's a belief system that Develops that I didn't have it but I believe that I'm
going to have it so I'll create it we know that's true for a lot of things yeah it is we we create so important that we know that cuz if you think diabetes is coming then you waiting on it it's coming if you think you're going to die you are I mean it wow so it really honestly so you have to understand that so the first thing you can do to change that is to get the Knowledge that it does not have to happen to you that you have control of it and so no what
that looks like understand what it means to eat real food understand what that is understand what it means like to exercise so that you can maintain your lean muscle mass understand what it means to make sure that you feed your mind and take care of your stress and anxiety and the trauma that you have so that you will keep it from manifesting in your body I want to See because you you looked at Dr Ahad this is Dr Bashir Dr Bashir Welcome to the The Potter's House uh you've done the pre-show before like 2 or
3 years ago uh Dr Basher is a holistic doctor she's a a nutritionist she's a celebrity fitness trainer but I want to talk about kind of just piggybacking off what she just said you know about the body you train the body uh but you also help people with the food selections so when we start talking about food and the body What are some of the things we need to start looking at right out just right from the beginning where are the mistakes we're making when it comes to food in our body wow well before we
start talking about the mistakes I I really want to say that I appreciate that you brought up the fear aspect because when it comes to healthy eating and nutrition everyone wants to run I have very few friends and family that want to go eat with me or anything Because they think I'm going to judge what's on their plate but that's that's not the case but we have to take away the connotation that there needs to be a fear associated with eating healthy because as we all know fear fear and faith can't exist in the same
place so if you're want to rely on your faith to get healthy that you can't be scared of eating God's Natural Foods when we talk about clean eating the uh Harvard public school of health says that clean eating Is basically a diet that has Whole Foods whole grains lean proteins and healthy fats I'd like to take it a little bit further by saying clean eating is when you choose foods that are as close to the way that God created it as possible because then that gives us a real model a lot of us grew up
outside on farms in the country where we know where that tomato and that corn and we know where all those things came from and we also know where that Apple came from or that Bird or that fish so we know that's closest to the way that God created it so it makes sense where we say well if God created these amazing foods and drinks for us he must have created it for a reason he made it this way because it balances with the ancient Temple that he also created which is us modernized food has changed
quite a bit in the last 100 years but this Ancient Temple has not DNA has not so one of the reasons why we have so much chronic disease and It's taking us out around the entire world now is because the additives the chemicals many foods that are not even real food that we're bringing in were not designed for God's Ancient Temple that was given to us on loan can I add something to that I was talking to the debutants on Sat On last Saturday and one of the things that I said to them and you
know they're babies and they understood it if you look at the back of a Package and you read the stuff back there if you could not tell what it was or what it is without seeing a picture of it it's not food amen so if you look at that package and you look at the those words and those chemicals and you think what in the world is this oh this is Doritos it's not food it's not food if it's food it ought to say have some words that you understand exactly and it's just that simple
what you notice thank you and I want to applaud you for Including this part as well both in your preliminary statements and what you're both saying it you're using words like what was created what God gave us and you talk to about creation and so in all of these things it's not um I don't trust the testimony that says I'm saved Sanctified Holy Ghost and all that if we are dishonoring our body because in creation and you referred to it when God blew the spirit into the body and Man became a living Soul spirit and
body Were connected we're in a culture that has not only had preservatives and additives but has separated spirit and body so that we think of the inner man is great but we say the body we can kind of do whatever we want to do with it because after all I have all this together and that has created a problem so when we go back to Creation what we find is that we were we are called and mandated to be made or we are made it in the image and the likeness of God which Means we're
supposed to reflect God's divine nature God's radical love God's unconditional love not only for others but for oursel and so creation there's no way we can escape shape it and what I think happens is that a lot of times we think of the church is going to get involved with our body when we do something that's unapproved unacceptable but we are not we don't have a theology to use your term theology the body that is just say no we don't have a theology The body is that just we're against AB BC d and e we
have a larger narrative larger than just social justice larger than just moral um moral Foundation but a larger narrative that I think connects all of these things whether it's Finance whether it's Health whether it's nutrition whatever whether it's mental health that says that if we're reflecting the image of God it has to be in every aspect of our life that's what our testimony Is and and I'm and I'm Lov that you said that that reflecting the image of God but I think Pastor the biggest challenge for most of us in church people when most 70%
of my clients are believers the biggest challenge for believers is not acknowledging that they have real emotion thoughts and feelings that sort of goes against what church has led them to believe because I'm filled with the spirit I shouldn't be sad or I shouldn't have these depressive feeling this is Anxiety I I have to say this one of the most sometime challenging scriptures is when you at a funeral and somebody says to be absent from the body is to be presentence from the Lord while that is true but I cannot dismiss this individual grief during
this time and so if we're going to reflect God's body I think it's important to not be so dative when we are teaching to make it operational that Jesus in himself had real human Moments and so when we can make this relational and we can make this relevant to people it helped them to understand that Jesus life is not so far from me and I can actually have these Expressions that we're talking about because the rise of suicide is happening with Believers not because they don't trust God but they feel that they don't have a
place to express their true feelings of depression so perhaps it's not so much that we are having a Theology of the Body but we are taking our Biblical understanding to people's lived experience yes so if you are experiencing grief you're experiencing rejection or you're experiencing loss then the onus is on us to begin to show we're in the Life of Christ and in the spirit of the Lord that there's that there's an understanding our our emotional intelligence uh it it's it's pretty low I'm not and I'm not I'm talking about to express and discover What's
going on I I I thrw myself on the cross I didn't know anything about grief cuz grief hadn't hit me yet uh well I didn't know until I lost son until I lost father until I lost my mother all of it back to back to back to back to back and then I start understanding that loss was not just the people people the Lost of leaving a city leaving people all of those were traumatic and all of it begin to spiral uh this morning I was asleep and Driving and in my dream I'm listening to
my father preach and my brother's in the passenger seat while I'm screaming in the seat while I'm driving because I heard my dad's voice and it just it shook me to like when I realized died and I hadn't had a an overwhelming experience like that since he passed uh it shook me so much that I woke up in tears I I I it was it was it was real to me and uh I I I almost shut The entire day down I almost text Bishop and said hey uh can you get me a replacement for
tonight I don't think I can do it I had already shut the entire day and the night down because that overwhelming feeling of grief hit me so bad that it changed my thought process it changed how I wanted to praise God I'm I'm a part of the body of Christ but I didn't want to be the body of Christ I didn't want to preach I didn't want to be Daddy I didn't want to be nothing Because that thing hit me and I could not shake it I want to talk about when we're hit with those
emotions uh psychologically and what do we do as the body of Christ what do we do you know one of the things um I want to say this is is my father's been passing 30 years and we was having this very in-depth conversation and I said at him I said church has done a great job saving Souls but I don't think they've done the best Restoring Souls when you think about the soul we have relegated the soul to being the spirit but the soul is actually your thoughts it's your feelings it's your character it's where
you make your decisions from uh the mind is the projection of the soul and when you don't process grief as what you were speaking about Pastor when you don't process trauma you don't process uh experience and process different things That you have endured or incurred it's lived through your body how many times have You' experienced something that you could not speak about but your body was expressing it uh there's a great book uh I I can't remember his first name vaner I know his last name he written a great book that I often talk about
the body keeps score and when your mind or your words can't speak it your body expresses it and I think what is proper is to not Just educate but allow people to see what is it like to actually process it when you get the bad report and you call the sister and you saying pray I think the reality of what a human does is like let me process that and process may be thinking why is this happening to me so for me I I live that process so before my diagnosis I literally didn't say anything
to anybody for about 90 days I had to process that information to understand where I was and what was Going on with me thank God I'm I'm good now I'm just building my immune system thank you for your prayers first and foremost but I think that that's something you do and one of the things and we talked about Dr Jill just mentioned a few moments ago it it's all about attitude and where your mindset is because that stress on your body is insane so for me I just kept moving forward I I I didn't I
didn't skip a beat as far as I was concerned I was in in the hospital bed taking Zoom calls because I knew this is something I needed to do that was over the top a little bit sorry but I couldn't help who I am I I I just to me it's it's it's a critical piece of everything we do right it's just it's the mindset the Mind controls so much and when we experience grief when we experience stress those things can take a toll on us it it really depends on how we how we deal
with it and you know even From a financial perspective which we'll get into momentarily but it's just it's it's it's amazing that the toll that it takes on your bodies if we allow it to do it do that you know D and then you can come right in after this D for me and I always throw myself on the cross cuz people don't like to do it I I don't have a problem doing it the uh for 16 Seasons coaching football working on my feed 5:30 in the morning to 7:30 8:30 at night uh I
always stayed between 245 lb To 250 lb lean body mass 6% body fat 6% body fat just always it was not a challenge for me just training every day well leaving Oklahoma coming to Dallas and sitting in a desk and being on Zoom all day or being in like that changed my whole life and I have struggled coupled that with grief and a life change to how do I keep this weight now I'm a trainer I know what to do but when grief set on top of that I L all knowledge of even what I
know to do what happens when your Body starts speaking a language that you can't understand let me tell you why you cannot keep your weight when you are stressed first of all when you talked about you hear trauma you know that feeling that happens that's chemically mediated wow so when you feel that there are chemicals that are being released to speak to every cell in your body that says we are under attack come on when that happens your cortisol level rises when your cortisol level rises then your Body thinks we're in a fight when that
happens you instantly become insulin resistant and your blood sugar Rises and Insulin Rises now let me tell you why that matters because when insulin is high you cannot burn burn body fat because insulin is a fat storage chemical Jesus so you cannot burn body fat so you're in this state where your body thinks we are in danger we can't we we might not be able to eat we got to save all these snacks We have who go we what going to happen if we get hungry that's what's happening so your body starts eating the muscle
first no your body starts using everything else except fat God for energyz so why is that important for you to know because when you are in a community where you are perpetually stressed that's why environment is everything environment is everything When you have those chemicals being shot at you on a daily basis how on Earth are you going to be able to get to Wellness if you don't know what's happening and so somewhere in all of what we're saying is that the body we talked about body language but the body has a story to tell
it does and it tells it on different levels and it's so important that God has created us that way so we have to be taught by professionals and those of you have have The experience so we know how to listen to it not take uh scripture out of context and just eat you know what this is what it says one line forgetting everything around it and learn how to listen to what the body is actually saying and that's how I believe I want to say one more thing if I can you were talking about um
if we have something in our mind how it's going to happen how it's going to come okay so now I'm doing exactly what I said don't do so job said The thing that I feared is what has come upon so we have been given in creation a creative ability to be able to learn to be informed and to begin to speak you said what do we do to speak a word to our own selves that is consistent with who God would have us to be so that we don't have a I can't help myself or
God just made me like this no he didn't no he didn't I made a choice I made a choice I made a choice I made a choice Let's talk about Choice when it comes to our to our B body and we we've been talking psychologically we've been dealing with it nutritionally we've talked about it from you from a medical standpoint a theological standpoint but when we start looking at it financially um how do you live within your means in a world where the economy has shifted in such a way that even the middle class families
are becoming homeless how do you live within your Means that affects your body you know that that's an amazing question question you know I I think at the end of the day you have to go back and just look at your debt and understand what that looks like and you're going to have to make some strategic things change in your in your world and in your homes you know one of the things that we were on the pre-show once before and some of the things I talked about as far as doing to controlling your debt
lined up I all the Streaming services that you may have you may have to look at looking at your credit card interest rates looking at and negotiating those things those are the things you have to really do at the end of the day for me when when you do those types of things it allows you to provide more for the home because you're eliminating these monies you're able to put these monies toward better things one of the things we were talking about earlier we were Talking about how um when you look at when you look
at the money that you're saving and the fact that how credit reporting and so forth impacts your life think about it credit a bad credit report and I know I've jumped subject a little bit but a bad credit report actually negatively impacts your ability to do so many things ether right Foods it in it infects your it impacts your the rates on your cars the rates on your homes th those things take money Out of your pocket and if you're actually doing the right thing and living by the Bible and what he talks about not
not being in debt etc those are the things that you've got to move forward with and make make an impact on your life in your household to make a huge difference that becomes the reason I brought that question up because as we started talking uh you it cost money to have a therapist it cost money to have a medical doctor it cost money to have a New nutritionist a wholeness Wellness doctor so if we're talking about living within our means well it cost to have every last one of you in our lives you know we
s we give tithes and offerings in church so what are some of the Practical things we can do uh so that we can actually invest in our bodies with uh you know serious help now I know you're talking about the credit score but it takes a long time to fix credit it doesn't take that long but Yes it does take longer I agree I age don't take that long if you do it right uh you know at the end of the day you really and truly have to assess everything that you've got going on and
I think that's the bottom line to everything right when you do that one of the things that I think is impacting our world today is uh Instagram I just call it the gram for that matter uh everybody sees these people online that are doing all these big and bad things and they Don't realize that the houses are rented or the cars are rented and everything else you got to do what's right for you and your family at the end of the day that's what it's going to take you know it's it's not about them God
God has a Divine Purpose for you and a direction for you and it'll come to you you don't have to do it on on their timeline I always say that people are not they're not paying your bills at the end of the day they're not paying the one's paying Your bills so you've got to do the right things for you do you really need to have the latest iPhone every time it comes out no you don't I think I'm four years behind on iPhones for and it still works so it's amazing how that happens those
are the things you got to assess stop trying to St stick up with the Joneses I know you guys hear this term all the time stop with that mess that it doesn't work excuse that uh stop with that it doesn't work um I want to go Here I want to go here because I want to hear from Dr Ahad I want you to talk to us about food some more and I want you to talk to us about uh physical training and what are some of the things that we can do uh we don't have
a lot of money exactly and and I also want to point out to your to your point and to your point as well Pastor that we have to stop giving up our power of understanding ourselves our bodies um understanding how now with Google and the you know the Internet and everything there's a lot of things that you can figure out on your own so don't get me wrong we love it when you hire all of us to do all these special things but like Pastor said it may not be in your budget at that time
so let's stop giving away our power just because you can't afford me does that mean now you're going to eat anything no you still have power to find another better choice that works for you and in that understanding of reclaiming or Keeping your power it carries over in all aspects of your life including when you're working with a trainer a nutritionist and also that journey and your ability to be more successful because you're not just looking at me and saying well if you not getting me healthy what am I going to do well guess what
my job is to keep me healthy and to guide you your job is to put your health as a priority first and use us as teachers but not as crutches because Every single one of you and everyone out there has the ability through God to change parts of their lives and so number one for me is always telling people stop giving away your god-given power many free resources out there when it comes to nutrition and to Fitness I got I want to ask you this because somebody on our staff said make sure you ask Dr
Basher this question why is it so hard to lose weight after a certain age yes on my Lord no they're very correct and whether you're male or female and of course it's probably even more difficult for women once you it used to be 40 now I think it's more more about 35 it's it's getting a little lower depends on how you are metabolic right it depends on how you are metabolically metabolically of course but one thing that I want to point out is that as you get to be older and depending on how you've cared
for Yourself over time that has a lot to deal with it if you grew up as an athlete it's going to be easier for you to take care of yourself as you get older if you've never worked out before if you never really been into eating clean it's going to be more difficult as those hormones change it exactly everything starts to change but that's still not an excuse to give up so many of our clients say well you know I'm I'm 40 I'm just going to Let it go why who who who wrote that book
and why do you have to follow it I'm not reading that book I don't want that book I'm pretty open about sharing age so I'm mid 70s and I can tell you don't give up at 40 cuz you still have the struggle and I have not won it but I'm working on it and toward it but one of the thing that constantly it it stirs something um I want to call it angress I guess that's what it is inside of me is That when I see commercials on television and there may be a diversity of
um ethnicities but the woman of color the the black africanamerican woman or whatever is typically a body shape an image that suggests obesity and not being healthy and it's almost as though to me those stereotypes are paraded in front of us uh and we almost accept that that has to be the image that has to that's what we look like and so there's a I know someone Mentioned social media before Instagram so I think it's being telegrammed or telegraphed to us repeatedly and that's giving it power if we accept those stereotypic images I I there
a couple of things that I want to push back on eating healthy is not expensive okay to talk to us about beans and greens are cheap okay growing your food is cheap it's cheap no really when you if you go to it it depends on where you go so there's Something called The Dirty Dozen okay um which tells you which foods are the most contaminated is that an app or is that a yeah you can look look it up The Dirty Dozen The Dirty Dozen so if you're trying to get foods that don't have pesticides
on them stay away from the dirty dozen or buy those organic if you can if not you can buy 10 oranges at some stores you can buy you got to know how to shop so just like we are strategic about where we get our hair Done who can do the best braids where you get your car D I mean we are strategic about everything we want to be strategic about it is just that we don't understand that if you are sick then you are going to have financial problems if you are sick it is going
to affect you mentally if you are sick if your children grow up sick then they are like more likely to be in poverty because they miss more school they don't I mean it it just it keeps so it has to be a Priority and that's the first thing that we have to know the other thing about obesity and we have to take the thought about weight away from what it appears to be so there's something called tofi T fi which is thin on the outside and fat on the inside they are sick too yes ma'am
so so you have to know what are you metabolically so we have to change the education of ourselves yes ma'am so that we understand that the size of your hips Is not the issue it's how big is your liver sick on the inside I I want I I had uh given the TV Department a uh anatomic anatomic um axis of the I want I don't know if you guys have it but I wanted you to see something about the uh not the not the axes but it was the body types three body types you guys
have that I think I want you to take a look at that on the screen if you can put on the screen for them uh this is your frame you were born with this so an Endomorph long slender person an ectomorph is somebody that you would probably say that's what I am or what J is and then the mesomorph now that's not fat on the body that's a frame now those frames that came from God okay you can't change the frame but you can change what you put on the frame you can change what you
put in the frame and you can make that frame look good it's easy for mesomorph to start looking like an ectomorph if he gets in there and starts Really really training watch what he eats then his pecs are going to get big his delts are going to start getting big and then even an endomorph there's a long slender marathon runner bike rider that even if he starts punching the weights a little bit he's not going to be as big as an ectomorph but he's going to be cut he's going to be lean he's going to
look amazing so you need to know your body types and then understand that hey I'm a mesomorph I'm never going To look like an endomorph that's not my that's not the frame God gave me but I can look like an ectomorph if I train hard enough go ahead that's very interesting Pastor is that you can be more than one very few people are just one body type usually you a blend like I'm a blend of mzo and Endo um and so the thing is understanding what your body needs as far as training and Foods according
to your body type cuz a lot of people don't realize if it's harder for You to burn fat genetically than there certain foods that you should never eat you know you don't just wait until you get over 35 maybe you shouldn't eat them when you're 15 you know so it's just a way of it's one way of looking at things with the body types because I I enjoy teaching my clients by that for a guide but also just to understand once again this is about the education ma this is about the empowering ourselves so with

so the unchurch views our body language and we could be saying hallelujah but a language is saying something else if you check uh when it comes into body language when you communicate people only really believe 7% your believability is 7% of what comes out of your mouth 8% is about your body language how your body language is being viewed and Interpreted is is tell somebody whether they believe you or not so we got to work on our body language all right Miss April we're open we're ready the first question as a Christian spiritually how do
you deal with body dysmorphia and anxiety go first okay well first of all you have to get some counseling because if you have issues with your own person and your physical body and you are not comfortable with it And you don't see it as it is then that is as much a psychological issue as it is a a health issue overall so you got to get some counseling for that understand that it's a problem and uh really try to work through it and gets to usually when you have an issue like that there was some
trauma somewhere that that put you in that place so you kind of have to figure out what that is so that you can move forward okay that's a great answer I Hope they were satisfied I'm a sneak a e church question in here they said what's a good mix of cardio and strength training when you're over 50 and have joint limitations okay I'll go ahead and take that um if you're dealing with joint limitations I would say number one you want to stay away from anything jumping okay so let's go ahead and take that out
of the mix is jumping when you're looking at over 40 over 45 over 50 hit Workouts are a great way to incorporate your cardio and also you can do hit with your strength training as well and hit just basically high intensity interval training so you do an activ ity as hard as you can for a certain amount of time and then you want to pull back a little bit not stop but it's more of a restful state for a certain amount of time and then the ratios also depend on the level of Fitness ability so
maybe I'll do 30 seconds of walking really hard on the Treadmill but then I may do 90 seconds of walking a little lighter and then maybe after two three weeks I feel a little bit stronger I pick that up for cardio with weights as as Pastor knows so well maybe lift something nice and Light 30 seconds maybe rest for 30 seconds to a minute so there's a lot of different variations on that but I highly recommend hit especially if you're in a plateau and you can't get off that stubborn fat for that person That's close
to 50 years old I'm in my 40s I do hit training Jay and I train together uh we have a mix uh philosophically I train another way that he trains but we mesh them together uh the way that I like to train there's nothing wrong with it it's philosophically there's something I like about it does something to me in my home ORS in my mind to make me feel like I just did something else I mix what he does which is H training we mesh them Together we have usually where we are now we're doing
a 1 to2 ratio work to rest ratio so if we're on 30 seconds we're off 60 sometimes there's a 1 to1 ratio which is 30 to 30 so that just depends on like she said where you are uh fitwise you can push back and forth with that work to W rest ratio can I add a medical thing to that yes ma'am if you are are you know you have something going on where your joints you can't do like cardio and that kind of stuff if You can do nothing else try to do some resistance training
even with bands even with bands because you if you start resistance training then you will help those muscles to strengthen and then you'll be able to graduate to something and what she just said about that resistance training that's going to help your bone density as you get older do okay it's going to be B critical yes ma'am critical amen I have a question p uh the question is can diabetes be Reversed I you you know woo that's a good question and hear me when I say this yes it can so it depends on what kind
of diabetes it is if it's type two diabetes diabetes is from consuming too much sugar period that we it is how do you get it better stop come on stop eating the sugar yes and so the question so the comment it's not just what's sweet That's sugar so first of all in every processed food they've put sugar yep why because it's cardboard and so it's either got to have fat or sugar you won't have anything to taste so that's number one number two you have have to understand that everything listen to me other than a
fat and a protein is a carbohydrate all carbohydrates break down into sugar so if you are eating too much rice it is breaks down into sugar bread Breaks down into sugar greens break down into sugar the issue is is it in its natural form where there's fiber with it or is is it stripped of that with fat back so basically the the carbohydrates so you saying the greens with fat back in it breaks down in the sugar yeah okay that's what had happened let's go to next question what happen next question next question I want
to move quickly next question okay next question um are vegan meats soy wheat based bad for you Bad for you bad for you anything that is processed so that's a really good question cuz I call them veg junk atarian people who don't eat meat but they eat everything else no matter what it is your what you are always striving for so can we move the conversation from weight loss to Wellness you are always striving to be well processed food I don't care what they have on them if they have no fat if They have glutenfree
if they if it is not a real food it is not good for you period yes sir I have someone who said um that their health specialists quit during covid and they have to wait two to three months for a followup and a regular doctor's visit may take up to four to six months because of this what resources are available to advocate for our health while waiting on Professional Services well there are a lot of them uh There are places where you can go and get uh you know care uh for Indigent people or people
who don't have access to care but I want to invite you to think about this make sure you have a doctor uh before you need one because you have to develop that relationship with they physician so always have one most doctors if you have a relationship with them if they cannot see you somebody else can they can give you some information there are people in their Office so I think we have to start looking at healthc care and our doctors is very very very important and sometimes you might have to pay a little extra or
go somewhere where your insurance won't cover but it's worth it if it's a priority for you I'm going to jump in here Lisa Robinson has put this in this chat 15 times how do you deal with anxiety and panic attacks while having faith woo um W the M he so to understand Panic attacks is understanding uh the heart rate becomes elevated uh once the heart rate is elevated now uh you have these racy thoughts uh some people have sweaty Palms uh you become antsy and the one thing about panic attacks uh usually is derivative of
a state of fear it's the fear of the unknown the fear of the future what can happen what if this happened and sometimes it it it hasn't happened so while managing that if you're not on medication for your Anxiety or for the panic attacks which is to sort of of lower your levels I think it's important to understand what state or what is the environment that you're in when you're triggered and you're having the panic attacks so and I and this is something that I was share with with I'm I got to move I'm good

weight Ah that's a that's a loaded question that's what he's asking well here's the thing that's food macronutrients are your food so some food is going to make you gain weight some food is not it depends on how much of each Macro nutrient for your body so if there's a certain amount of calories that you know you're supposed to take in every day then you look at the Percentiles of fats proteins carbohydrates you're supposed to have then the types of fats proteins and carbohydrates hopefully closer to the way God intended them so your body can
actually use them efficiently and they don't become stored as fat man can I add one quick thing to that because I think it's really important you know your body does not interpret calories you don't have a calorie counter in here what your body interprets is what messages the Food is giving it so if your body if you get a good food and it's telling your body heal burn fat what that's what matters now do you recommend filing chapter 7 no that's what there's a question okay I'm like no I no don't Frank like Frank said

ourselves or did some extra training so you want to start with the doctor who is openminded and a doctor who is kind compassionate and willing to listen to you that's for anybody and you want a doctor like Dr Wagner uh who studies researches is up toate and knows what the trends are that's True okay um young lady had a C-section why is it so hard for her to lose the belly fat the external B belly fat or internal belly belly fat um cuz it's different belly fat okay so ex so ex so external belly fat
is that belly fat you can grab yeah and that's just you got to lose weight uh overall that in both that internal belly fat is that big hard stomach that you can't grab that's that's really dangerous belly fat that's Belly fat that's in your internal organs so both of them are you have to increase your body body's ability to burn fat so that you can get get it from hanging on the outside or living on the inside we go Dr this is for you are there any good sites to get information on good eating oo
there's quite a few good sites but it really depends on the way you're looking at Food U so for example are you looking for better ways to find clean recipes clean eating recipes you Literally can just put that in Google what I try to tell people more more often than not anything that is from a an educational website or perhaps something with MD sometimes Web MD I don't know if you ever use that one Dr Jill nutrition.org is real good and cuz you want to make sure it's coming from a real organization and not just
someone's opinion on nutrition because you really can get some bad advice on what to do so I always say first know what you're looking for and then look for a reputable site like we have nutrition.org we have anything dealing from a reputable educational um organization too that has references references when you mentioned when you think about sickness you're going to get sick how do you control that somebody said stop thinking about it that's what they said down here the The audience no again there's a reason see see exactly we have a lot I have a

do for women to stay in shape good all right number one no matter what your age is make sure you're doing some type of resistance training a lot of time women we shy away from that we think we're going to get to bulk and we're going to look like a man unless you have excess testosterone or you're taking something you are not Going to look like a man but but that additional muscle tone is going to help you to feel better look better in your clothing as you get older it's going to help with your
bone density and then just overall it's going to help you prevent injury and help with a whole host of things so I say number one resistance training always include cardiovascular training okay they're not independent of each other you got to do both I like this question uh I've been On steroids for seven years due to an autoimmune disease I want to lose weight any recommendations doctors told me I cannot lose it I don't know cannot cannot is Big um it is difficult if you're on steroids but it as I say to any patient who has
an autoimmune thing have you changed your diet have you really changed your diet can I can I ask a simple one to piggyback on that Dr Jill there any known natural detoxes that someone can Do after being on steroids cuz I have quite a few clients that have to take those as well first thing is you have to wean yourself off of them and then after you wean off of them then you just have to do the good clean eating to detox is very difficult because it takes months and so people think I'm going to
take something that's going to make my bowels moved and and I'm going to be detoxed and that's not well they do but that's not what you what you want to do good Anti-inflammatory foods good last question over here do you believe 90% of our diseases are Environmental we only talk about the Cure we never talk about the prevention yes it is not just environmental that's why it matters that's why finances is important where do you live what are you getting exposed to that's why you know what you can afford that's why education that's why what
