The cat was resting at the time. Seeing uninvited guests, the pet attacked them. One of the burglars died on the spot - the cat had bitten his carotid artery.
The second survived, but ended up in intensive care, and the third managed to escape. When the police arrived and saw the mustachioed pet, they were horrified. It was not a cat at all, but a wild manul.
As it turned out, these animals cannot be tamed, but the old woman did it with ease with her immense love and homemade sour cream . And it is still unclear how such a wild beast ended up close to human habitation. In nature, manulas are not aggressive, but when defending their home they can attack.
