there is a phrase cited by many Christians that says God is love but he is also a consuming fire this means that as much as God is good and merciful his Holiness does not tolerate sin and therefore the sinner must pay for their mistakes and have you ever wondered how far God's love goes and where his Justice begins how do we understand those stories in the Bible that show a God full of love and kindness but who at the same time was cap AP aable of ending the lives of his servants after they committed a
mistake that to our eyes might not even seem that serious but when we look more deeply we realize that in fact God loves us very much and he takes no pleasure in human suffering but he is just and he needs to keep his word and in today's video I will show you seven deaths in the Bible that are difficult to understand but that help us better understand who God is and how great he is so do not draw your conclusions hastily and at the end I will show you what to do to avoid the same
mistakes as those people who ended up losing their lives for not obeying the word of the Lord but before starting I want to ask you to subscribe to my channel just click the Subscribe button below the video and activate the notification Bell as I want to help you understand the Bible in a very simple and easy way way every day okay so let's get started first the death of Onan Onan was the son of a man named Judah and he was instructed by his father to marry Tamar the Widow of his brother ER who had
died at that time it was God's Commandment that the wife of a deceased man be given to his living brother to maintain the family lineage however Onan even though he agreed to marry Tamar to not displease his father disobeyed God's orders by not fathering children with her this is because every time he had sexual relations with the woman he spilt his semen on the ground preventing her from getting pregnant this selfish and wicked Act of Onan aroused the Lord's anger who ended up taking his life secondly the death of Lot's wife in chapter 19 of
the Book of Genesis the Bible shows that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were so corrupt and full of sin that that God decided to destroy them but before doing so the Lord sent two angels disguised as humans to Sodom where they were hosted by lot who was Abraham's nephew lot welcomed the Angels into his home but the men of the city surrounded the house and demanded that lot hand over the visitors so they could abuse them lot tried to protect the Angels by offering his daughters instead but the Angels intervened blinding those Wicked people
to prevent the the attack since the wickedness in those places was so great God's angels ordered lot and his family to leave Sodom immediately to be saved from the destruction caused by the fire and brimstone falling from the sky however they could not look back while the cities were being destroyed but the Bible says that as they fled Lot's wife disobeyed God's command by looking back and was turned into a pillar of salt as punishment the transformation of Lot's wife into a pillar of salt is one of the most mysterious stories in the Bible and
can bring a sense that we serve a merciless God but this is not just about the punishment for Disobedience by looking back it symbolizes something greater which is the resistance to abandoning a life of sin and following A New Path of obedience to God even in the face of the most challenging circumstances this is because in the original Hebrew text we discover that looking back also meant demonstrating an emotional attachment to the city of Sodom despite having left that place it was still alive in her heart and she felt sad for abandoning it for this
reason she died for being disobedient and for living a life based on lies and hypocrisy third the deaths of nadab and abiu the story of nadab and abiu recorded in Leviticus chap 10 emphasizes the Holiness of God and shows that he takes matters of worship very seriously even though they were sons of Aaron nephews of Moses and Priests of the Sacred tent the Lord did not spare them when they took their senses and put fire and incense in them for the fire they offered was strange meaning it was not according to the instructions God had
given for that moment this act was considered a violation of the rules established by the Lord for worship in the Tabernacle by disobeying God nadab and abiu showed disrespect for the Lord's Holiness and the order he had given so God made a great blaze of fire come out from the tent and strike Aaron's sons who died instantly and that was not all besides witnessing the death of his two sons God did not allow Aaron to mourn their deaths and ordered that their bodies be buried outside the camp as was done with all Hebrews who died
in dishonor fourth the death of achan aan was an Israelite who disobeyed God's command after the conquest of Jericho the Lord had said that everything in Jericho should be destroyed and that no one should take anything however chapter 7 of The Book of Joshua shows that akan motivated by greed ignored this command and took for himself a Babylonian robe 200 shekels of silver and a bar of gold he then hid these items in his tent trying to conceal his sin this did not only bring problems for him but for the entire Hebrew Camp as a
result of achan sin Israel suffered a humiliating defeat in their next battle against the city of I because they lost God's protection and favor not knowing what was happening Joshua entered the presence of the Lord who revealed to him that there was sin among the people akan was confronted and ended up confessing his act as a result he and his entire family were taken to the valley of aror where they were stoned and burned following the law of the time for that transgression yes I know it seems very harsh but the whole people were paying
a very high price for the Disobedience of one man and that could jeopardize God's entire plan for Israel fifth the death of ananas and saf unlike most stories where God killed his servants for some Act of wickedness or Disobedience this couple was part of the early church led by the Apostles of Christ at that time Christians had a strong sense of community with many selling their properties and possessions to share resources with those in need no one was obligated to do this but those who chose to share did so out of love for their neighbor
and the teachings of Jesus so ananas with his wife's knowledge sold his property however instead of donating the entire amount from the sale they kept part of the money for themselves up to this point everything was fine the problem arose when ananas gave part of the money to the apostles and lied claiming that the amount represented the total profit from the sale Peter confronted ananas saying that he had not lied just to men but to the Holy Spirit immediately ananas fell Dead about 3 hours later saf arrived unaware of what had happened to her husband
Peter then questioned her about the price of the property and she repeated the lie after confirming that both were involved in attempting to deceive the church Peter said she would face the same fate as her husband and saf also fell dead on the spot at that very moment sixth the death of usah one of those responsible for taking care of the Ark of the Covenant while it was being brought back to Jerusalem after being stolen by the Philistines and being away from the capital of Israel for over 20 years Us's death can be considered a
human perspective one of the most unjust in the entire Bible the Bible tells us that King David decided to transport the the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem with great celebration during this transport usza and AO sons of abinadab were tasked with guiding the new cart pulled by oxen that carried the ark instead of using the poles that fit into the rings of the Sacred object furthermore it was the Levites who were supposed to carry the Ark of the Covenant not animals according to God's command based on the law of Moses it should never be
touched directly by humans because it is considered holy at a certain point The Oxen stumbled and to prevent the ark from falling usah reached out his hand and touched the ark disobeying God's law at that very moment the Lord struck him dead and the man fell there before David seventh the death of Saul Saul was the first king of Israel anointed by Samuel to unify the tribes of Israel and lead the Army against the Philistine attacks his Reign began successfully but was soon marked by a series of Disobedience to God's orders and it was one
of these irresponsible actions that ended up ruining his Reign One of the orders that Saul disobeyed was during the war against the amalekites god through the prophet Samuel ordered Saul to completely exterminate the enemies including men women children and animals however ever Saul spared the life of king agag and the best of the cattle and sheep justifying that they would be used in sacrifices to the Lord this Disobedience led the prophet Samuel to declare that the kingdom would be taken from Saul and given to another who was David who according to God was a man
after his own heart and that's not all Saul ended up seeking a medium known as The Witch of Endor which was forbid en by the Lord at that time he was desperate because he was about to face a battle against the Philistines and he was feeling insecure and abandoned by God who was no longer answering him through dreams and Prophets Saul's death occurred during a battle against the Philistines on Mount gilboa as we can see at the end of the first book of Samuel the battle was disastrous for Israel the Philistines killed three of Saul's
Sons including Jonathan who was very close to David seeing himself surrounded and severely wounded Saul asked his armor Bearer to kill him to avoid being captured by the Philistines when the armor Bearer refused Saul took his sword and fell on it committing suicide after the King's death the Philistines found his body and those of his sons on the battlefield they decapitated Saul and hung his body and those of his sons on the walls of the city of Beth as a trophy of War later the inhabitants of jabesh Gilead whom Saul had helped in the past
retrieved the bodies and burned them burying their bones under a tree and fasting for seven days in mourning Brothers in our lives and also in the interpretation of the Bible we often come across stories that at first May portray God as an unjust and severe being who takes pleasure in human pain and suffering but when we have true spiritual discernment of these stories we realize that they bring us genuine teaching about the importance of living in obedience and faithfulness to God for our good each of these characters face terrible consequences not by Divine whim or
because God dislikes being contradicted but by their own choices to disobey or dishonor the word of the Lord God is not pleased with the suffering of his children on the cont he loves us so much that he was willing to give the Life of Christ to give us salvation and eternal life and my wish with this message today is that you reflect on your own life thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross you will not die physically if you disobey God's Commandment that is in the past but Disobedience can cause another kind of
death which is even sadder and more serious for the Christian which is spiritual death so before we finish I want to invite you to reflect are you living according to the teachings of Christ the story of each of these Biblical characters serves as a mirror that reflects not only their faults but also our own encouraging us to a life of faithfulness and obedience to God Amen if you like this message share it with as many people as possible let's spread the word of God together we have reached the end of our video and I hope
