What is Happening in Mozambique? Why is it burning?

hello there so today let's talk about mozambik and why hundreds of young people have been shot by the police officers in that country so as you know mozambik had elections this past week and during their even like one day before the election very top opposition Figures were abducted and you know killed by the government so they were found dead before the election day that is what happened and then the ruling party Fimo that's what they call the ruling party this is the party that fought against the Portuguese and kicked them out of that country in

1975 you know you remember Machel and it has been in power for 49 years from that time but along the way it has become a party taken over hijacked by Mafia and Crooks all Crooks in Mambi now are part of that party so it's it has had presidents who are very crooked like the outgoing short man president nusi who basically rooted $4 billion from the mozambik economy we know the story and then he wanted to pass power to another dictator kind of authoritarian political Wabi this man is called Daniel Chapo that is what the party

chose to run for this new election to be the next president of mosambik and Chapo basically rigged the election we saw that ballot Staffing a lot of during the election day there was ballot Staffing in broad daylight everyone saw it International observers were seeing it they were ashamed to be there to witness daylight robbery of votes the South African development community sent observers the African Union observers were there they saw the rigging and they never commented No statement from the African Union No statement from sadik Community though that is what happened we saw it I

mean we we all saw that and now after he was declared the winner this guy the Chapo guy people there are not happy especially young men who do not have jobs and who are grappling with high cost of living so they decided for the first time in 49 years since mozambik got the independence to protest because when we talk of civil protests activists we think of countries like South Africa or Kenya most Kenya is like the the kind of in Africa is like the the Bedrock or whatever of activism and civil protest but now mozambik

for the first time since this country got independence they've had their first protest and the police officers went there with guns shot at these young protesters we saw that I'm going to show you the videos now and they shot at them killed a lot of them 300 people have so far been killed the government has basically threatened the media not to report that because they rigged elections and they do not want to hear people and because the ruling party wants to stay in power and as this protest spread across the southern part of mosambik because

that's where most economic activity in mosambik happen remember mosambik is a slim long country from Tanzania all the way to South Africa which is almost at you can see the scale is 300 kilom so which could be about 1,500 kilm from the northern tip of M mamb to the southern tip of mosambik you can literally fly over mozambik for 2 hours 2 and a half hours in a plane you entered mosm airspace in the north you're still flying above mosambik by the time you exit in the southern part of maputo you've been flying above that

country for more than 2 hours that's how long it is and what happened is that because the Portuguese had colonized this region in the South that's where they were interested in exporting the minerals they were getting from mozambik after Independence this party called Fimo continued the same thing concentrating all their de development and economic activity in the South they've neglected the north until about 12 years ago when gas and crude oil was discovered in the very northern part of the country in uh you know Mima and this cabado province and when they went there to

basically you know sell this minerals to the French energy giant totar the people they are resisted and especially the government came and started telling villagers to move away from their lands so that they can start doing Drilling and they told them to just this is what they said actually I remember they told them to get lost they told them disappear they they didn't even have like a mechanism to say we can relocate you somewhere or we are going to give you another place to settle they they never used those kind of words that was 12

years ago they told them to get lost and that's how some of these villagers the young men from these communities came together and formed a resistant group now the other issue is the northern part of M especially around pimber is inhabited by Muslims so the communities that were affected by that Drilling and the communities that have been neglected since Independence or even before that Independence are Muslim in the north of mosambik and they formed this militia or this resistant group and because it was a Muslim resistant group they now turned around and called it a

terrorist Al shabab I think Isis supported Group which is not true of course we know the group came there because of resisting the bad governance and years of neglect by the central government in maputo which is 1,500 kilm south and that's what is happening in mosambik now the people in the south in maputo who are protesting are now also beginning to see how bad their government is and that's why they are protesting and the government has ignored those protests pretending that they don't care they are not there they don't want to hear about this protest

and they've asked or unleashed the police officers and the Army to go to the streets and shoot anyone who is protesting so that is what is happening there and that's why I'm talking about mmek and the protest have ensured that business activities in maputo this is the town that is closer to South Africa than it is to mosambik yeah that's a joke but you get the point this Muto is like a South African a South you know the country South African town or city than it is as a mozambican city but anyway so they closed

the border between South Africa and maputo the border of Mata I think or something like that and South Africa was not happy that's why they later called for an emergency crisis meeting today in the morning uh to discuss mozambik now remember what I said at the beginning is that during the election there was outright rigging and ballot stuffing and The Observers from the African the South African development community on sadik were there and saw it and they never mentioned it they never even issued a statement but because the economic you know the economy of South

Africa is being threatened South Africa has mobilized sadik to discuss about now mozambik not because of the rigging they don't want to talk about that but because of the protest now they are trying to portray these young people as the bad ones the victims are now being portrayed as The Dangerous Ones and they need to discuss them in a crisis meeting probably they going to say we can send some troops from South Africa to go and help the mozambik troops to stop this protest so the protesters are now becoming like Rebels or terrorists in their

own countries and as I said the South Africa had crossed the border because the protests were spilling over into their country that's what is happening there and the same week mosambik had election or funny election or the mocker and mock elections Botswana the neighboring a neighboring country there had their own election the most democratic transparent free election in Africa in recent times and the Handover of power was smooth the ruling party was removed from Power especially I think since it came to power about 30 years ago for the first time it was removed by the

opposition now the ruling party mozambik has refus refused to get out of power in Botswana which I think and I am going to say this is the most democratic country in Africa today forget the other ones who pretend to look Democratic you know Seer Tunisia moras South Africa Kenya those are not Democratic even the same week uh Botswana had election which was last week morius another country in the Indian Ocean there which is also part of the sadik group you know it's part of South African development Community had election last week and these elections were

parliamentary elections because they also the the members of parliament are the ones I think who go to Parliament and select a prime minister through the ballot in this in this Parliament so the were doing the local parliamentary elections which were rigged as usual and the government turned all social media you know they shut off Facebook you know Tik Tok they they cut off Internet actually because they didn't want the outside world to know that they were rigging and there's this article here called social media access blocked in mosambi and macius because the two countries were

doing election that week and this one is saying MAA suspends access to social media ahead of parliamentary election so the morisha is considered one of the most developed country in Africa but they don't have democracy there they rig elections seal is the same country you see when they do elections they rig them Tunisia you can go to the Internet it's a bad case there's no Democratic country left in Africa apart of course uh of Botswana number one followed by Namibia and maybe we can talk about a little bit of Sagal but the other ones all

of them they're not Democratic they authoritarian some of them are party authoritarian which is even worse we'd rather have a one person dictator like musi or Paul kagame or the Paul beer than having a ruling party that came to power during the the of colonization and this ruling party has been trying to remain in power and it has been over the years been hijacked by Mafia and Crooks so now we have this Fimo party in mosambik rigging election refusing to hand over power it has not developed the country the country is worse off than it

was under the colonial rule of Portuguese mozambican would be better off under the colonization of the Portuguese than there are under this Fimo the same thing applies to the neighboring Zimbabwe the ruling party zanu PF is the same thing they rig election they crack down on protesters they are authoritarian you know they've run that country down it's very poor it has nothing that functions there the people in Zimbabwe would be better off today if they were still under the colonization of the British than they are and under the rule of these black dictators the same

thing applies to Tanzania they have this ruling party called CCM which is the party that n formed it is an authoritarian party dictatorship it has been hijacked by criminals and Crooks it is it rigs election it doesn't allow opposition parties there it doesn't allow this sent or any form of opposing view in that country people get disappeared every single day if they oppose the government or the party itself it's like the China's Communist party but worse very bad party in Tanzania there and I think still tanzanians though they never got full colon colonization like their

counterparts in Kenya they would be better off if they were still under colonization than they are under the African black leadership yeah you say this people get you know all kind of emotional they get this kind of feelings but some of these countries would be better off if they were still colonized because what's the point our forefathers died in the forest in the rivers they were eaten by crocodiles trying to fight the white people but then after that the grandchildren of those men who died are suffering they cannot even protest in their own country they

they get sh at for just you know telling the government to stop rigging elections you cannot express your voice you get abducted in Kenya you get abducted in Congo you get abducted in Randa you are disappeared you don't get abducted there you get disappeared you oppose the government you disappear never to be seen again same thing applies to to Uganda there you don't get abducted you get disappeared you know they press delete or shift delete on the keyboard and you're permanently deleted from this world that's what they do there same thing in Cameroon there you

oppose the government they do shift delete you gone for good never to be seen again so that's the problem we have now in Mambi they are doing the same thing they've been lying to us that the young men from the north are terrorists but actually they just resistance we need to support them if we can to remove the bad leadership of people like the Daniel CH cha Chapo was the new president is the new president is Daniel Chapo we don't need this kind of leaders who kill people after rigging elections in Africa
