hey guys so this video is going to be a little bit different this is a clip I'm taking from one of the videos I put on the members I made it a few weeks ago and it's about compulsive imagining versus the wish fulfilled and I'm just kind of going into what I think between these two and my own experience between these two and so I just want to share that here and I also want to add that I'm going live for members this Friday at 2 pm Eastern Standard Time so hope to see you guys
there and enjoy the enjoy the clip get to insert that um I guess what I'm trying to say is I keep my video is a little bit on point while here I want to be a little bit more free um engage a bit more answer some questions cuz I understand there's questions I had a lot of questions when I first started and I still have questions but but I've here's what I've learned about questioning is that I used to ask questions and try to search them up and try to find them I don't quite do
that anymore so what I've done now is I've changed my attitude towards questioning I have questioned not when I question I question within me I'll go say well what does this mean about me or what does this mean and I don't answer it I just don't try to answer it I just let it be a question in my mind and then I just move on in the day and I just noticed that in the course of the week that question will be answered it's like it and I've noticed it happens in such a in such
a way that it it's like lovely it's calming it's peaceful it's very natural unlike me trying to figure it all out and I'm stressing myself out I've just noticed that I'll go through certain events and experiences that will sort of answer the question that I'm curious about and I'll ask like a simple sometimes it happens right away I'll just listen I'll just ask the question and then I'll kind of hear like my own response um but other times it feels like I have a conversation with somebody and then I'll hear the same like here's another
here's something that happens so like if I imagine myself a certain way what will happen is that somebody in my life tends to um speak to me and they kind of reveal to me the way I should like that I'm going to start becoming this thing they sort of tell me something to do or they tell me something to think and then later on I'll hear someone else say the exact same thing almost almost identical and that's how I know I'm sort of changing in a way or I know that what I'm doing Within Me
is starting to reflect happens pretty quick but if you just pay attention it's there but I don't try to look for it anymore I don't try to search for answers anymore I have noticed that the answers are within me and at times the answer doesn't come instantly but if you kind of just walk through life it start to unfold and then the question starts to get answered so I treat life like it is it's like a voyage for me I if you've noticed I don't have a lot of um I guess if you read the
series there's a lot of 1 two 3 four five steps but I haven't found life to be lived that way life is lived a little bit more I like to be a little bit more free than be restricted to just simply a step-by-step routine I understand it's necessary to a degree but I would say this learn the learn some of the meditations I have on there and try to imagine and then throughout your day though play with it experiment with it once you kind of get the idea down that you're supposed to imagine this or
imagine that or I'm going to imagine myself feeling to be this um experiment with it as well don't just uh be don't be so structured to where you kind of lose the the freedom in it you know learn to be free in this world you know the time is a little bit short and one thing I've learned is that when you're in an undesirable State and you're wanting to be freed from it you actually don't get freed from it until you change it the passage of time or waiting for tomorrow it it doesn't really work
you shouldn't depend on circumstances to change yourself it's a mistake I've made it's a mistake many people have made um learn from my mistakes don't wait for a circumstance to unfold before you change yourself because what happens is that you're always going to be greeted with your state so they produce after their own kinds so you you there's no one going there's no one going to come and save you and give you a state that you want you have to take it and I was just listening to a song the other day and it and
it said that chances are not given there you have to take them and that that encapsulates the feeling I'm trying to say is that there's no virtue in suffering there's no virtue in these bad states of mind that you are in there's nothing that's going to be given to you that's better you're just greeted with another day in that state we're in the realm of days and each day is a state we're going to live in now we decide whether or not we're going to move or not but waiting and expecting change before you do
it within yourself is really a waste of time and there's really no more time to waste there the best time to do something is right now the best time to ignore the senses to not wait for a circumstance to actually change the way you see yourself is right now it's a freedom that I haven't found anywhere else but waiting for it to happen isn't enough you know it's not enough to Simply hope for some somebody to come give it to you and it's harsh at first you you hear that and everyone wants it I'm I'm
no I'm no stranger to that feeling either I've wanted it I wish I wish something would just come and save it you know save us and I felt that for a long time but I realized it's not going to happen it it just hit me one day when I realized that there is nothing virtuous in being in the states I don't want to be in there's nothing there's no there's no outside deity watching me tallying up all my you know all my suffering is going to grant me a reward after there's no there's none of
that and I had to accept it and when I saw that I was able to actually go Inward and save myself from the things I'm wanting to be saved from now me and you might have different things we want to be saved from but but me and you waiting isn't going to necessarily fulfill that it's a harsh blow it is it it hurts when you realize it it hurts to realize that the state of mind you're in really was the main source of your suffering the way you saw yourself the way you think of yourself
the way you interact with yourself the way you speak to yourself all of this internal activity is dependent on how you see yourself either you see yourself a certain way through the eyes of others or you see yourself the way you want to see yourself it's up to you um but I would recommend you don't pay attention to how people see you I would recommend you start to focus on what you want to cultivate within treat it as as you are cultivating an image of yourself and you're going to make yourself into the image the
more you contemplate on it the more you're going to become like it and so to bring it back to the point of compulsion it's not it's not about imagin or compulsion don't be afraid you know if you if you find yourself in a panic inside don't be scared just just learn to come back and be gentle and imagine yourself the way you would want to be now at first it might not you might feel like it's not doing anything but realize it's a state of mind that you're in many times people think that what they
are in right now is permanent they think that the state of mind they're in is who they are and so they remain that way they say this is just who I am you hear it all the time this is just who I am this is how I am but it's not deep down we know it's not it's an excuse um there's no there yeah again there's no virtue in poverty it's it's it's to say this is just how you are is silly um to say you're just a certain way now I understand there's personality involved
but to act like we can't mold ourselves or shape ourselves when we really are our own Potters um to me is a is is not understanding that you're in a world of states that you and I are in this world and and these are states being expressed these are states of mind being expressed now the difference is that most people are completely unaware of what they're within themselves completely unaware that they're thinking thoughts it it it blew my mind when I when I realized that this is the case after you speak to a lot of
people you realize that people don't actually know what they're thinking they're completely unaware of what they're doing they don't understand they're on a certain train of thought they're on a they're walking some path they might not even know where they're going but if you're listening to this now this is the problem with listening to this the issue that comes is that now you you have to be responsible for what you do now you can ignore the message and ignore but if you're here right now I mean and you're you're you're obviously somewhat invested in it
if you're listening to this right and I think it's a wise investment because it's not something you permanently need you just need to you just need to start getting the the ball rolling on what you want to start thinking about yourself now that's the key is yourself that's the secret is you because you're always going to find yourself in this world and it sounds scary um you're always going to find yourself in your thoughts so if you have uh fearful thoughts right they're they're there to reveal something about you maybe you're powerless maybe you feel
powerless so you have these these thoughts of powerlessness but they're not actually inherent to you they're just it's you're just in a state of mind but if my thoughts become fearful and I'm just I'm just walking around imagining nightmares all the time instead of beautiful Daydreams and I'm just imagining nightmares all the time and believing in these nightmares and giving them all my energy I'm going to be depleted but if my thoughts are fearful and they're coming from a certain idea of myself then really what I'm afraid of what you're scared of is your own
conception of yourself that's actually what you're scared of you're scared of your of what you think of yourself and it's a fearful thing it's a fearful thing to think you're not enough it's a very scary conception of oneself but it's not true and what you'll find is that there really is no that fear is self-created falsehoods in your own imagination it's not really inherent to you because you're the creator of it that's why you're the Creator now you might have been taught to think a certain way about yourself but you still had to believe it
you still had to think it in order for it to gain any traction in your mind you had to believe it now obviously if you're a child then you were taught to think a certain way of yourself that you didn't like you didn't have much of a choice children believe I know I believed things I just believe them without question now I'm a little bit more Discerning but I still believe I don't I'm not just a skeptic I believe though I believe in something good about myself and it's in I invite you to do the
same but again don't be compulsive don't be scared you don't need to be afraid and I think that I think most of you aren't afraid I think what I've learned is that people people mistake their beliefs with what they're what they're afraid of they they are afraid and then they think they believe because it's a fear but a lot of times people don't believe in their fears they're just afraid of them and once they learn that they don't have to give so much um attention and reaction to fear inside of them it starts to lessen
and lessen and lessen they start to become relaxed and still and then it allows them to be in a space where they can actually move towards something it's very hard to change States when you're constantly scared of the state you're in Don't Fear the state you're in just move from it and you have that ability it's not going to be found in and something outside of you you know it's not you're not so don't wait for something outside of you to change it it's such a when it hits me it's such a it's such a
freeing feeling it's so it's so wonderful because it feels like this is what I've been looking for because I spent a lot of time in my life looking for a feeling and I never found it in what I was doing I never found any kind of happiness in the things I was doing I tried and and I'm very good at seeing perspectives so I tried to see certain types of perspectives and I tried to like certain things that I just didn't and I spent a lot of time trying to like stuff I didn't like I
spent a lot of time imagining things I never wanted to imagine but because I thought I couldn't be naive or I couldn't be this or I had to be this I would imagine them when I really was like this isn't what I love to imagine though this isn't really what I want and so I lost myself I lost all myself in in imagining nightmares completely abandoned who I am to all these nightmares because I actually love to imagine lovely things I love to imagine for the S imagination was something I was I've always kind of
secretly been drawn to this type of work if I'm honest with myself even though in my life I might have done other things even from a child's when I was a child I was interested in imagination I've always been fascinated with my imagination the fact that I could imag something other than what I'm seeing was always something quite magical to me but I never really indulged in it and if I did indulge in it it was always it was always a nightmare and so I'm very familiar with all the mistakes I made I actually started
from a very very bad place when I met um Neville's teachings I was and and if we're quite honest I don't think a lot of people come to these teachings unless maybe things are not so good inside you know the home you live in isn't necessarily good but you can move out you can pack your bags and leave you don't have to remain in the position that you're in and when you see it when you see that you already are the thing you looking for because you're the inner man when you see it it's very
hard to unsee I don't think you can unsee it actually it's hard to live your life off this principle there's many there's a few times in my life where I wanted to not know this I wanted to be ignorant of what I was doing inside because I didn't like what I was doing inside so I wish I I was I would be jealous of people who are ignorant of their own imaginations it's just like the movie Matrix when they say ignorance is bliss and I really I I really believed it I really believed ignorance was
Bliss and I was I was jealous of the birds I was like I hate that they can just fly away and I can't but I just couldn't see that I had the power to change what I was doing inside I just couldn't see it for a long time and then one day it just clicked within me I just I just I I kept reading work trying to understand it and then one day it just clicked and I realized and you know what happened the moment it clicks you know what happens all the energy all of
it that you used to imagine that you misspent using to imagine nightmares to dream nightmares really does it returns to you you feel energized again you feel like a completely you can't believe you've been in that position for so long that you dreamed up that it's hard for us to admit that we dream nightmares it's it's difficult but if you can um if you can accept this kind of objective view of yourself don't be don't be judgmental on yourself don't harm yourself just kind of observe yourself um that's the way I would say I was
just I was observing what I was doing and I realized I'm not I'm not dreaming things I love I'm really not I'm actually dreaming things I'm afraid of happening I'm I'm Dreaming up things imagining that they have happened and I came from so I came I was scared of everything I'm not afraid to admit it I was terrified of everything um I still work on my fears but with each fear you overcome it feels like all the energy comes back and you become powerful again you just misspent it that's all it is a nightmare is
misspent energy it's misspent imaginal activity
