do you want to ethically control minds and direct your prospect to the action you want them to take then you need to know these seven insider persuasion secrets and you need to know them right now i'm john vincent and this is sales copy secrets [Music] welcome back and this is my seven persuasion tips that is basically ethical mind control part one part one there are two parts to this video series so i'm gonna cover four tips today three tips in my next video because i'm lazy no i'm just kidding i i just want to make
sure that it's not one long 80-minute video that talks about persuasion i'm gonna break this up okay now here's a clue i used four of the seven in the very first sentence that i opened this video with so you can pretty much just stop watching the video right now if you can figure it out no don't do that don't don't no don't do that in fact i want you to watch the video all the way to the end and i'll tell you why because today i'm going to give you a punishment if you don't if
you pause this video or don't watch it all the way to the end you have to eat your dessert of ice cream and ketchup mixed together that's your punishment so i'm gonna know if you did it or not somehow or another the universe will send me a telepathic message i will know so if you are a copywriter or if you're looking for copyrighted tips or copywriting techniques guess what this is for you so let's dive into the training now there are hundreds i mean hundreds of persuasion tips that i will be giving you over the
lifetime of this channel i mean we're just breaking these up into chunks right now so the cool thing about these tips is that you can break them down and use them easily as a beginner as an intermediate or as a pro copywriter it does not matter just about anyone can use these so today we're going to cover seven as in double o seven as in bond james bond hate martinis by the way shaken or stirred just for trivia's sake now the first persuasion tip is the power of the word new now that's probably not new
to you you probably have heard this before but as with all tips i'm going to give my unique spin on why new is so potent and why you should use it frequently so the theory goes that humans are attracted to novelty things that are new bright shiny objects we've all heard this before but i take this a step further i believe the word new let your prospect off the hook for not achieving success already new gives them a kind of excuse and a damn good one for failing in the past because maybe they can say
to themselves hey i didn't have this new thingamajiggy this new technique this new tactic this new strategy maybe that's why i haven't succeeded yet and you want to evoke that feeling in your prospect's mind as frequently as possible the aha moment the oh wow maybe that's why i haven't succeeded or maybe that's what will take me to the next level new has a way of doing that with one simple syllable pretty freaking cool if you ask me so let's take a look at these headlines and look how much more powerful they are just inserting the
word new let's go we'll start with just one headline here herbal remedy for the common cold shocks doctors that's a pretty cool headline if you ask me but just adding the word new to it new herbal remedy for the common cold shocks doctors makes that headline even more powerful now what's really cool is you can use a variation of that you can use new all caps colon new herbal remedy for the common cold shocks doctors when i use the word new in front of that headline it gives it a completely different feel it really draws
your eyes to it and it sets the prime super high meaning i've set a standard that i'm going to achieve the standard here is the standard is new in other words something new is going to come your way right off the bat new just jumps out at you now other cool places you can use the word new is for example in social proof or like for a study let's say that you're going to cite a study so rather than say a 2016 study reveals you might say a new study published in so and so general
reveals well it's not new if it's 2016 john well it depends on what you define new as because new is relative it's new compared to the 20th century right so if you're doing that kind of thing you could cite a study from 1975 i wouldn't go that far but if it's within a few years i would say a new study if it's within the last couple years i'd say a brand new study so really over emphasize that newness factor of the study again new information novelty aha moment now you can also use the word new
as a priming technique if you didn't see my video on priming it's an nlp technique look below you can check it out after this one but i'm going to give it to you briefly in a nutshell here priming is where you use words you want your customer or prospect to be thinking about outside of the context in which you normally use them or you can use them within the context as well so you just drive home words over and over again throughout your script and that word will become kind of embedded in their mind and
ethically move them toward where you want them to go so i'm going to give you an example using a script and i'm going to use the word new over and over again now i wouldn't probably use it this much over and over again but this is how cool it is and how often you can use it if you really wanted to but you will get the idea let's go so i walked into this new shop down the street i knew i needed relief fast so i figured i'd try some place new that's when i found
it a new herbal remedy for the common cold turns out there was some shocking new research on the herb curates fastia okay i used new in almost every single line of that script right and it kind of got a little bit repetitive but if i took one of those out you probably would have never noticed it if i didn't point it out and in case you're wondering curit fastia it's not really an herb but it should be next tip is the power of the word now and not just the word now the concept of now
now now is an nlp command neuro-linguistic programming i can command you to pay attention if i say now blank whatever comes after that in that blank rather is what you're going to be paying attention to in fact i did that in the intro script and i'll prove it to you check it out if you want to ethically control minds and director or prospect to take the action you want them to take then you need to know these seven insider persuasion secrets and you need to know them right now there's that word now it jumped out
right yes i used that along with three other techniques that you're just going to stick around for these two videos and find out which ones are which and where i use them now i use that term in a way that most people don't catch right off the bat did you did you catch what i just did if not let me re-read that sentence now i use this term in ways most people won't immediately recognize right off the bat did you catch it of course you did because it's the very first word saying now is grabbing
your attention right off the bat and when i do it this way it's also an nlp command i'm actually telling your brain to pay attention to what i am going to say right after that word now if i'm going to voice this in a video sales letter i'm going to really elongate a pause and make that a very dramatic effect so when people hear that they're going to really slow down and pay attention check this out now i use this term in ways most people won't immediately recognize right off the bat did you hear it
now i use this it's almost an uncomfortable silence but when i say now it not only commands you to pay attention it puts you into the now into the meta now into the present moment i'm going to come back to that present moment thing in just a second first i want to show you a few other ways you can use now a very common place to see now is in the call to action like act now or act immediately you just want to get the impression across that the person really needs to take charge immediately
and take action immediately and go over here immediately the word now does that very well now let me go back to that whole presence thing you want to write copy that helps put your prospect into the present moment we are a distracted species we are bombarded by hundreds of text messages and emails a day we are bombarded by constant stimuli so to pull somebody into the present moment which is really the only moment you have as a human being by the way because the past is gone all you have is a memory of it and
the future doesn't exist yet now is all you have so to really capture someone and put them into the moment of now it helps to prime that by using the word now now before i reveal my other tips have i earned your like have i earned your respect if i earned your internal admiration if any one of those are true i want you to crush that like button right now do me a favor smash that bell for notifications leave a comment below be sure to subscribe if you haven't and now let's get on with it
tip number three is to use numbers in your headline or your subject line to get more attention in case you missed it i used it in the opening sentence of this one i the title of this video seven persuasion secrets you will see it right there okay so i used a number that your brain could wrap its mind around your brain its mind are you two different people what what the hell is wrong with you your mind needs to wrap around the concept of something finite so when i say seven or three as long as
it's not a number like 167 tips for blink you can wrap your mind around it and you kind of have an expectation of a time frame coming into this how long this is going to take or how much you can absorb in one setting that's why numbers are very powerful they're also powerful because they stand out they're not letters they stand out because they're not letters rather so letters are what we're used to seeing right but numbers are not so frequent in written text unless you're reading a book on maths or something so when you
see 7x or here's a quick way here's a way to 5x your sales the number five kind of leaps out at you the number seven in this case leaps out at you and that will actually help ethically command somebody to move them in a direction they say seven seven i can do seven so you've manipulated them very good manipulation there is good and bad manipulation you've manipulated somebody into watching or reading what you have to say in tip number four my last tip for today we're going to cover the other three in the next video
is leveraging the power of inclusion everyone wants to be part of a club the insider circle you know that's why so many marketers call their paid membership sites or you know coaching calls the insider circle because people want to be a part of a club and i'm going to show you my opening sentence again and see if you can catch it because it's pretty obvious now ready if you want to ethically control minds and direct your prospect to take the action you want them to take then you need to know these seven insider persuasion secrets
and you need to know them right now insider was the only word i had to use there to get the inclusion thing happening now another way you can do inclusion i really like are phrases like so i'm probably a lot like you you and i are probably a lot alike believe it or not you and i are probably a lot like there's lots of different variations on ways to say that and i think that you should explore those for sure but the intention is the same i am saying you i together inclusion and that's very
important when you're talking to prospects who might look at you as being someone way up there and they're way down here and they can't fathom getting up to where you are but if you say listen you and i are a lot alike and here's what i mean by that x and you prove it and you're not just making stuff up or we came from probably very similar backgrounds i used to suck at copywriting or i when i first my first cells that are bombed miserably so you make yourself accessible you know what i'm saying you
don't put yourself up on a pedestal inclusion cannot mean pedestal it just doesn't work that way unless you're included into some sort of totalitarian group which you probably don't want to be and this helps copywriters and marketers overcome everyone's primal fear that of being alone no one wants to be alone this echoes back to when you were a child to when you were fresh out of the womb i mean a loneliness is a terrible thing so the more you can use inclusive language in your copy the more people will have a feeling of warmth they
might not understand why they have that feeling of warmth but they will definitely have it and that can often lead to you guessed it moreso so that was part one of my seven persuasion tips that basically is like mind control and i'm gonna go into part two in the next video and wait till you hear some of these tips they're gonna blow your mind and speaking of tips i have one more for you like share sub and smash that bell for notifications that's four tips in one i tell you i always over deliver i am
