Being woke is like a magic moral time machine where you judge everybody against what you imagine you would have done in 1066 and you always win. Presentism. Yeah, this professor is right.
It's just a way to congratulate yourself about being better than George Washington because you and he didn't. Bill Maher has absolutely no patience for woke politics. So when a celebrity built entirely on that brand sat down in his orbit, there was only ever going to be one outcome, a brutal takedown.
And that's exactly what happened. But before we move further, if you enjoy short commentary videos with full breakdowns, take just 2 seconds to subscribe to the channel. And now buckle up because this is where the real takedown begins.
What would get him reelected, which was stupid wokeness, which is what got him reelected. So I feel my conscience is very clear that I I told you and I told you and I told you and I lost fans for it. You know lots of the super woke that like I'm not I'm not woke enough for them.
Yeah. But like I think I had it right. Like that kind of stuff is what lost the election for the Democrats.
It's in all maybe part of it. I don't know. I think a lot they have polling on it.
It's well I I think it's inflation. I think Americans hate inflation certainly inflation. They hate riots and they hate they tell me and they hate trans people.
Oh god, John, we're not doing this. Crier's big theory for why his party lost is basically that regular people are just secretly hateful. That voters didn't reject the message.
They rejected being decent human beings. Stop and think about how insulting that is. Millions of people voted and this guy's first instinct is to call them bigots instead of asking one honest question about his own side.
That's not thinking. That's just contempt with a famous face. And Mar, who actually deals in real numbers instead of feelings, doesn't even blink because he's got the receipts and criers's got nothing but hurt feelings.
You can see the difference instantly. One man studied why his team lost. The other would rather blame the entire country than look in the mirror.
And when the bigot excuse falls flat, crier scrambles to the next hiding spot, the price of groceries, inflation, anything but the actual rot in his own message. For many watching, this was the first crack in the act. Because the excuse isn't a slip, it's the whole operating system.
And the moment a guy like this runs out of facts, he stops defending the idea and starts defending his own seat at the table. The ending concluding remarks after I told them that the Democratic Party had turned into a Portlandia sketch. Again, I I felt like they tacked to the right quite a bit in this in this they tacked right on on immigration.
You're a Hollywood in the bubble blue sky. Dude, you're you're a man of the people, Bill. Is that it?
or much. Oh, really? And and you're you're part of you're part of the Hollywood community that is embraced.
I am not. Uh-huh. Watch the role reversal here because it's everything.
Crier is the working actor inside the Hollywood machine and Mara refuses to let him pretend otherwise. The man who walked away from the group think is sitting across from the man still marinating in it. And somehow Crier thinks he's the one with the common touch.
Critics say Mar is just scoring points, but this wasn't a point. It was a man getting handed a mirror and flinching. You don't get to play voice of the people from inside the bubble that lost the people.
And this is the trick you have to learn to spot because the entire movement runs on it. They can't beat the argument. So, they go after your address, your tax bracket, your zip code, anything but the thing you actually said.
Critics say that's just rough debate. It's not debate. It's a smoke screen.
And Mar walked right through it. That's not I I don't live there. I'm not It's not my culture.
Uh, you know, um uh and you won't judge it. I'm not going to judge it. No, but but again, this is that's crazy woke to me.
That's where that's where it all went off the rails when you when we became so tolerant that we tolerate intolerance. I mean, you would never allow something like that to happen in this country. If they proposed a law tomorrow at the LA city council, women have to cover their face when they go out.
I assume you'd be against that. Well, yes, I would. This is where it got surgical.
Crier plays the noblest card in the deck. I don't judge other cultures. Sounds so enlightened and generous.
And Mara simply asks him to apply it to something monstrous. A law stripping women of their faces in public. And the whole pose collapses in real time.
Of course, he'd judge that. Of course, he would. To Mara, that's the rot laid bare.
A tolerance so total it ends up shielding the intolerable. That is not virtue. That is surrender.
Drssed up to look like grace. Here's what I want you to understand and sit with this for a second. They tell you they don't judge right up until you hand them the one thing they can't stomach.
Then the judgment comes roaring back, which means it was never real. They were ranking right and wrong the whole time. They just hid the scorecard and called the hiding open-mindedness.
Critics say that's unfair to honest liberals, but the honest liberals aren't the ones steering this thing anymore where it is appropriate, I think. Okay. Okay.
I think this is the standard liberal position. And then there's like the people who won't admit that some of this is social contagion. Some of this is just a Tik Tok trend that got out of hand.
I don't agree and that's okay. Notice what Mar does that Crier's whole side refuses to. He states the calm normal position, then names the part that's become untouchable.
That some of this is contagion, a trend that got loose and spread. Crier won't agree, and Mara just lets him disagree. No insult, no label, and that's okay.
Don't skip past that. The man supposedly representing tolerance had to be shown what tolerance actually looks like by the guy he came to scold. That one beat tells you who the real liberal in that chair was.
Now, let me tell you something about the engine under all of it. Once you see this, you can't stop seeing it. The modern left turned every cause into a costume and every costume into proof of how good they are.
People in this town, they just want to be warriors, social justice warriors. So, they're just always looking for a cause and it's so much more often about them than the cause itself. Not that they're not sincere about stuff, but like like what bugs Dave Chappelle so much about the trans thing?
I think it's the fact that they want to make it a so the social just issue of their gen generation and it just doesn't compare. This is the line that draws blood. Mayor's charge is simple.
These people don't want to solve the problem. They want to wear it to be warriors forever hunting the next banner to march under. And the ugly center of it is that it's about them, not the cause.
The suffering is the backdrop. The applause is the prize. Critics say that's cynical.
So look around and count how many of these crusaders ever fix a single thing versus how many just perform. That's not conviction. That's a personality stitched together out of other people's pain.
This is a credibility crisis the movement won't admit it's having. And the more it sinks, the louder it gets. It's politics.
Of course, you have to assume that the other side is going to use your vulnerable points. But here's what the left demonizes. what they would take my conversation with you right now which is in no way illiberal and say uh I'm some sort of bigot because in in the left view um the far-left anyway any just questioning of this is a mic drop oh you're a bigot I mean it happened on CNN recently like I will not sit here and hear someone called a boy you know and they're talking about someone who trans But um you know it's like we're so pure.
We know everything. That's the that's the given. So we any discussion of this is bigotry to begin with.
And that's not where we are with this issue. Listen carefully because Mar just exposed the whole game. The far-left has one move.
Question them calmly fairly. No hate anywhere in your voice and instantly you're a bigot. And the conversation is declared over.
He points straight at it playing out on CNN. Critics say he's exaggerating. He's not describing a theory.
He's describing a tactic millions have watched land in real time. That's the machine. And that is exactly why no honest conversation survives anymore.
Critics say Mars is just bitter, just old, just shouting at the clouds. But here's the inconvenient little fact they keep stubbing their toe on. He keeps turning out right.
Every alarm he pulled they laughed off. And every time the bill came due, we dehumanized them. It was politic.
Another reason why the Democrats shouldn't have blown it. Well, I I I you know, again, you can you can blame them all you want. I I believe I believe again that there is a worldwide reaction to the inflation bump after co everybody every as I said Americans hate inflation.
You keep telling yourself that and you and you'll lose the next one too. And there's Crier doing the exact thing that buried them live one more time. Handed a clean chance to face it, he reaches back for inflation, for the wide world, for any culprit but the one in the chair.
And Mar closes the door with a single line. Keep telling yourself that and you'll lose the next one, too. That's the whole night in one sentence.
One man learned the lesson the hard way. The other just volunteered to learn it again. Critics say that's Mar being smug.
It's not smug. It's a warning. And the pride in that chair is exactly why it won't be heard.
Now, let me be very clear with you about the root of all of it. Every excuse, every dodge, every I don't judge, every bigot label, they all grow from one thing this movement will not face. The problem with communism and with some very recent ideologies here at home is that they think you can change reality by screaming at it.
That you can bend human nature by holding your breath. But that's the difference between reality and your mommy. You cannot scream reality into submission.
You cannot hold your breath until human nature folds. Tomorrow, that's the whole gap between handling the real world and throwing a tantrum in the serial aisle. And it's the same gap between a party that wins and a party left standing in the rubble asking what hit it.
Critics say that's too simple. Sometimes the answer is simple because it's just true. We watched a man walk in certain and stagger out stripped bare.
Crier came to defend the cause and turned into the best evidence against it. He swapped facts for excuses. He swung at the messenger when the message beat him.
He swore he didn't judge, then judged the second it served him. He couldn't call a trend a trend. And every time Marah cracked a door open for honesty, Crier slammed it and grabbed the script.
Critics say it was just a friendly disagreement between two men on the same side. It wasn't friendly and they're not on the same side anymore. One of them is still living in the fantasy that lost.
So tell me down in the comments, why can this crowd never just admit they were wrong? Is Bill Maher the last honest liberal left standing and the big one when your whole movement runs on calling people bigots? What's left when nobody flinches at the word?
