welcome to movie shortens in contrast to what you may know or scared of common snails which are slimy slow appearing around your garden today i will introduce to you a 1988 spanish horror film adapted from the novel of the same name called slugs spoiler ahead watch out and take care the scene begins with bubbles on the like surface near the boat of a couple tired of waiting for the fish to get trapped the girl decides to change her swimsuit the boy is suddenly pulled into the lake by something slimy crawling over his feet assuming that
it is a joke the girl keeps coding until there are some air bubbles appear again and fresh blood spreads all over her boyfriend's body the next victim is an alcoholic man despite his dog's barks he enters the house without paying attention to the danger lurking as there are black slugs waiting on the sofa and screaming the old man becomes their dinner party our main character today is mike a town health inspector after a fun night out with friends at a bar and then returning home with his wife the next day mike is awakened by a
call from the sheriff to investigate the case of the alcoholic guy when he arrived the victim's eyes heart and kidneys were gone and the flesh was peeled to the bone the police chief is in the headache because there has never been such a strange and gruesome case ever before after inspecting the entire scene mike sees several slime trails dragging down the basement of the house however when going down besides the stinch mike detects nothing more the sheriff thinks it's a case of wild carnivorous animals like rabid dogs or raccoons but mike thinks it's caused by
smaller ones they're gradually deadlocked because of the rare evidence about the case meanwhile the slugs begin to multiply more vigorously mike receives more complaints about clogged drains he and don the plumber come to check don discovers several animal carcasses with horrible smell after being ripped off his glove by an unknown creature don rushes out of the sewer in a house nearby an elderly couple also discovered countless lug larvae growing the gardener while not paying attention is wearing a glove that has previously been entered by a slug he rides in pain and then falls to the
ground dropping two bottles of chemicals desperate he decides to use an axe to cut off his arm after three blows of the axe fresh blood spews from his hand causing him to scream in pain hearing her husband's voice the wife runs by to see but accidentally drops the cigarette head into chemicals near the gas can turning the house to fire and both of them die in the burn the news of the old couple's death quickly spread throughout the town mike goes home and tells his wife about this while talking mike discovers a slug crawling in
the grass out of curiosity he reaches out to touch it and suddenly gets bitten right on his finger immediately mike carefully uses a shovel to move the slugs into the jar and the couple quickly bring it to john's laboratory john is a curator working in merton museum mike proposes a theory about mutant slugs that kill people after explaining the structure of the slugs john suggests buying a bottle of slug poison and some slugs pellets at dave's his wife is repairing a salad for him she didn't know that there were slugs in the bundles of vegetables
she bought seeing dave come home from work she hurriedly cuts vegetables to mix but has no time to wash them on the same day while analyzing a sample of the slug's body slime john is shocked when a slug has crawled out and eaten a mouse in the cage that night donna sneaks out to meet her young lover bobby while the two are cuddling they have no idea that slugs are crawling all over on the floor bobby has a sip of whiskey to keep his boy straight up but as soon as he steps on the floor
a slug bites him in the leg donna in panic runs out of bed but soon she is stripped by the slug discharge desperately watching donna being turned apart by slugs bobby couldn't save his girl while looking for a way out for himself bobby's also grabbed and eaten the next day mike arrives at the scene of the young lover's deaths mike tells the sheriff about his theory of the killing plugs mike believes that it is the mutant slugs causing the serial deaths recently because around every crime scene there are always slimy traces on the contrary the
sheriff considers it crazy and disagrees with him mike returns to the office and waits for jon to contact him don the plumber calls mike to let him know that he has sent people down the drains and discovered there are a lot of dead animals so he needs mike to come to this place immediately when mike arrives don assumes there's something in the sewer near the drunk guy's house together they take out a map of the area system after a while of discussion mike and don also have some clues all animal carcasses garbage and human remains
recently discovered are related to the house of the alcoholic men and the truth is that in the 50s and 60s there was a waste treatment plant in the area that operated for 20 years this factory was forced to close because of its dangers and harm to the community later this was planned to build a commercial center don thinks this is the cause of awakening the mutant insects that have been sleeping under the ground meanwhile dave is signing a contract in a fancy restaurant but a headache distracts him quickly heading to the restaurant dave sees himself
bleeding out of his nose making him extremely scared he tries to stop the bleeding and gets out but the terrible headache never goes away dave lies in agony on the floor fresh blood flowing from his nose and countless larvae hatching from his eyes the horror scene terrifies the entire restaurant the chief calls mike while he and don are working on their theory arriving at the scene the chief tells mike that the food in the restaurant has worms but mike doesn't buy it dave's death makes mike strongly believe more in the theory of the carnivorous lux
however the chief still denies mike's idea they bring samples from the corpse to the laboratory so john can study jon concluded that it is precisely the mutant slugs that are extremely blood thirsty their mucus carries parasite that continues to multiply in the humid and dark environment not only that these are also hermaphroditis so they can duplicate themselves and multiply very quickly understanding the extremely serious situation mike returns to the office and contacts the relevant organization to find a solution what's worse mike receives a call from his wife begging for help rushing home mike is horrified

into the sewer to escape but unfortunately she gets killed by the slugs under in another development mike decide to act in the night inside the sewer the two get stuck in the way as the slugs are getting to eat palmer's body mike decides to go back but don comes up with a bold idea to use fire to cut the power lines under the sewer don has made it until the slugs on the way passing on the carcasses of millions of mutant slugs mike and don finally reach the place they use raw meat to lure the
slugs into one place as planned john pulls over the car at the manhole cover where the slugs gather john manages to open the manhole cover as it is jammed shut leaving mike and don stuck under at the critical moment the chief arrives and gives jon a hand to open the manhole cover the slugs are approaching mike tries to open the door but there is a sewage drowning dawn into the water immediately although mike manages to reach out to save dawn it is too late don is killed by slugs mike is extremely hurt and angry he
