foreign have you ever had a time in your life when you just felt inspired to draw nearer to God sometimes the fire in our hearts grow when we listen to an amazing message at church or when we hear of an amazing testimony or we just have the growing ambition to get to the next level here at impact we wanted to provide the plan for people who have such Godly desires so if this is you and you have the burning desire to accelerate your spiritual growth take notes and pay attention because if you apply these next
lessons carefully God won't just bless you with growth but with abundant growth so let's get started lesson number one grow in worship pay attention to Daniel chapter 3 verses 4 to 5 when King Nebuchadnezzar erected a statue for people to bow down to it says then a Herald shouted out people of all Races and Nations and languages listen to The King's Command when you hear the sound of the horn flutes xyther liar heart pipes and other musical instruments bow down to the ground found to worship King Nebuchadnezzar's gold statue in this context worship means to
bow down in submission and to surrender look also at Matthew 4 when Jesus was being tempted by Satan in verses 8 to 9 it says again the devil took him Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory and he said to him all these things I will give you if you fall down and worship me what Satan wanted here was for Jesus to surrender and submit to him so it's important to note that while we the church can worship in song worship means to bow down
and to surrender it is an act of submission what King Nebuchadnezzar and Satan both wanted was for people to surrender and fully submit to them and today too many churches have an incomplete perspective of what true worship is and we can have a tendency to equate it to singing catchy songs now singing Praise songs at church is great and absolutely needed but if you truly want to grow in your walk with God you need to grow in true biblical worship and worship means to bow down and surrender and submission worship is not the feeling you
get when there's a good Christian song worship is when you look at God's Will and make it more important than your own will worship can and should be done in everything we do when we read the Bible we can worship God by applying his truths to our life when we pray we can worship God by seeking his will and placing our will beneath his when we Fellowship we can worship God by encouraging and blessing his people and when we sing songs we can worship God by focusing on the truths of God's word that should be
found in the lyrics and then living according to those truths we can also worship God when we apply his truths at school work and in our Hobbies we can bow down to God's will when we communicate with our family friends colleagues and everyone around us so remember worship means to bow down and for the Christian whenever there's true surrender to God there's true growth lesson number two grow in Fellowship Philippians chapter 2 verses 1 to 3 therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ if there is any consolation of love if there is any Fellowship
of the spirit if any affection and compassion make my joy complete by being of the same mind maintaining the Same Love United in spirit intent on one purpose do nothing from selfishness or empty conceits but with humility of Mind regard one another as more important than yourselves if you look at scripture Fellowship is more than just a Christian hangout it's being so close to other believers that you have one mind that is focused on loving each other and serving each other Paul here encourages Believers to be of the same mind and this is the next
step to growing in your faith grow in being one with other believers so do you have a best friend in the faith do you have someone in your life that pushes you to be stronger in the word or in prayer do you have someone that you can confess your hidden sins to or do you have an accountability partner that loves you enough to call you out if you do something wrong it Jesus serves as the perfect example in this regard when Jesus was here on Earth all he did was invest in people he got involved
in teaching his 12 disciples he hugged and embraced the children and the sick he looked upon the poor and the hungry and then met their needs and he even went as far as to identify himself as being a friend of sinners so for us some questions to consider are we friendly do people at church feel comfortable enough to approach us or are we standoffish do we take the time and make the effort to grow in our relationships with fellow Believers or are we too busy and honestly it's not that we're too busy it's that we're
refusing to make Fellowship a priority despite God's call for us to regard one another as more important than yourselves so if you want there to be growth there must be true Fellowship lesson number three grow in discipleship in Matthew chapter 28 verses 19 to 20 Jesus says go therefore and Make Disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all that I commanded you and lo I Am With You Always even to the end of the age before Jesus ascended into
heaven he commanded his disciples to go and make disciples essentially Jesus told them look at what I did for you I taught you answered your questions invested in your future loved you showed you mercy and patience we laughed we hung out we ate together I trained you I corrected you I equipped you to serve others and I showed you how to follow God now do the same thing to someone else so question have you ever learned under someone that is much more experienced than you are and I don't mean one meeting here and there a
disciple is a disciplined learner so have you been properly trained under a mature believer to be equipped to read the Bible and pray correctly to make your path to Greater godliness more clear and to develop you even further in your walk with God for me personally I have had the pleasure of being mentored by five individuals in different periods of my life and I learned from their experiences and sometimes we met at their office or talked alone after a Bible study or met at a cafe or one for a walk whatever the case if you
truly want to grow in your faith and accelerate your spiritual growth I can't recommend this enough find someone that you look up to spiritually and ask them can you please teach me how you follow God I want to learn more on how to read the Bible and how to pray and how to dive deeper in my faith so would you be free to meet up once a week or every other week and if you want to take this seriously please keep these points in mind Point number one ask someone who is much further in your
faith than you they should be spiritually more mature than you point two if you're not an adult yet talk to your parents or Guardians about this communication is key and your parents should know who you meet up with and what you talk about Point number three I highly suggest guys having guy mentors and girls having girl mentors Point number four don't be offended if the person you ask can't meet up with you keep asking and keep looking discipleship is biblical and God will make a way for you if you do your part and point number
five don't be discouraged if you can't find someone right away these things take time so in conclusion if you are someone that wants to accelerate your spiritual growth learn from these Godly lessons lesson number one grow in worship don't just sing songs live according to the truths of God's word and submit and surrender to them in every aspect of your life lesson number two grow in Fellowship don't just hang out take the time to develop and maintain Godly friendships and lesson number three grow in discipleship look for a spiritual role model and ask if you
can learn directly under them while keeping in mind the points that I previously mentioned so please keep going and growing we hope this blesses you guys and never forget Jesus loves you [Music]
