America has become the strongest country equipped with all kinds of weapons of iron and steel. Its military and economic power have trampled the entire earth. The world has never witnessed an empire as powerful or as dominant as the United States.
Those who are waiting for the Antichrist to appear as a single individual are gravely mistaken. When God and his prophets speak of individuals, they often mean nations. And when they speak of nations, they often mean individuals.
For example, in the Torah, God says to Moses, "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, this is what the Lord says. Israel is my son, my firstborn. So I said to you, let my son go so that he may serve me, but you have refused to let him go.
" Here God refers to the entire nation of Israel as his firstborn son even though it consisted of over 600,000 individuals. Israel was the name given to Jacobisam and it applied to all his children and descendants. They were many yet considered one.
So clearly the many can be one and the one can represent many. This same principle applies to the antichrist. The prophets are warning not merely of an individual, but of a nation possessed by a spirit.
