so when my sister was a baby uh like me our dad who has now graduated into eternity used to sing a songs as babies before we went to bed apparently he started this tradition before we even remember but I don't know four five six S I have vivid memories of my dad singing a song that when something like let my life be a Sweet Sweet Sound to your ears that was a song he's saying to me to my sister it was a song that sang The Name of Jesus over and over and over and there
is this popular story in our family that Wendy at approximately three or four years old very young my older sister would say to my dad when he was done singing as he was kissing her good night she would say daddy more Jesus more Jesus now at the time my mom and dad thought themselves we are literally raising an angel now my sister would grow when they'd realized she wasn't an angel I'm kidding I do love my older sister who pastors a great church in Las Vegas Nevada to this day she's amazing but back then they
thought oh my goodness our little girl already Wants More Jesus and the truth is she just didn't want to go to sleep and so she figured if she asked for my dad to sing more by saying more Jesus he would keep singing and she could stay up my tactics were more Dad could you get me more water that was my tactic why am I sharing this because as we prepared for this day shooting content and these messages and these experiences these encounters these weekly Services as we call them I started to consider what could you
use more of what do you actually need in your life should I give you um Concepts and practices and habits and steps to help you in your spiritual journey whether you are seeking understanding on the person of Jesus and efforts to consider believing in him or following him or maybe you've been following Jesus since 1962 and you simply want more understanding of his way wherever you are in the Spectrum I started to think about you what could I do for you today and what do you actually need more of and that old story about my
older sister came to mind and it became abundantly clear to me even today that the best gift I can give you is more Jesus let me explain if Jesus is who he says he is the actual savior of the world as we know it the actual only person who can absorb all of our self centered selfish self-seeking living all the heir the wrong the bad the evil the wicked things we have done to ourselves and others if Jesus is the only one that can absorb all of that in his life and his ministry and his
body and his death and his resurrection and by definition has transformed transformative work this transformative work has transformed The Human Experience as we know it then he is the superhero I think our preoccupation with superheroes in our content creation and movie making is because we know we need one if Jesus is the superhero we all crave and desire and hope for then what we need is more of him how could I as a communicator give you more of Jesus that was what I started to consider and contemplate even today driving into this studio how could
I give you more Jesus why well because if he's the only superhero we definitely need more Super and more hero in our life every day it is now October 2024 there are so many unusual and unprecedented activities transpiring as we speak on Earth there's tragedy there's Triumph there are TR things there are heavy things there are fun things and light things and there are weighty overwhelming tragic and traumatic things happening as we speak I get a news feed like I'm sure you do recently Chelsea cancelled our subscription because she said no one reads it and
had no idea that every morning after I do my guided prayer prayer I read my newsfeed and stay up todate on current affairs all over the world but she said we no longer need to spend $12 a month so now I only have headlines but even the headlines can tell you there's all kinds of things going on in the earth and frankly it's overwhelming what do we need more of more knowledge more wisdom more success more money more information more power more control what do we need more of I'd like to bottom line it for
the next four weeks I'd like to suggest that what you need and what I need is more of Jesus because I am persuaded he is the only one that can deliver us the only one that can reach deep into the human soul and give us What We crave and what we desire now if you're like me I feel that gnawing sensation on the inside and I try to fill it with arbitrary temporal and trit things like money or sugar or good movies fun times none of those things are inherently wrong but they fall flat in
truly satisfying and fulfilling my soul so these four weeks here at church home in these weekly Services I'm going to do my best to give you more of Jesus this is a a change in my regularly scheduled program as I Was preparing a multiple series of sermons on a different subject entirely of course it was about Jesus but I have felt prompted to go to Matthew 13 with you for the next four weeks and share with you more insight and understanding about this wonderful kind patient consider it and present Savior and superhero who loves you
more than you can even fathom wherever you're listening to these words right now he is preoccupied with you he is in love with you and the scripture says the amount of thoughts he has about you towards you and for you are more numerous than the granules of sand on all the seashores of all the bodies of water in oceans and seas on planet Earth innumerable unending his thoughts his preoccupation with you it's extraordinary so we are going to get some more Super and some more hero in these next four weeks which I truly believe will
help you in whatever you you are facing in your life for the next five minutes maybe seven minutes I want to talk to you about Jesus the patient and kind teacher he is your teacher he wants to instruct you he wants to lead you and he wants to guide you it says in Matthew 13 starting with verse one later that day Jesus left the house and sat by the L you to teach the people now soon there were so many people surrounding him he had to teach by sitting in a boat so they pushed out
a little bit from the shore because the crowds were pressing in so intensely apparently his teaching his presence his his person is so magnanimous it's so contagious it's so magnetic it so draws you in that the people were pressing him so much they found a little boat for him to sit in no doubt the water was like a natural amplification and it says he taught them many things by using stories parables to illustrate spiritual truths what are Parables metaphors pictures and portraits who is Jesus he is a patient teacher and he wants to teach you
I want to make a couple observations about Jesus but before we do I want to jump to verse 10 in Matthew 13 and the Bible says the 12 guys walking around with Jesus they approach Jesus and say why do you always speak to people in these hard to understand metaphors these hard to understand Parables he said well you've been given the intimate experience of insight into the hidden mysteries of the realm of Heaven's Kingdom but they have not I want to say something for anyone watching this you have been given the intimate experience of insight
into the hidden mysteries of the realm of Heaven's Kingdom did you know that by proof that you are even here watching this program by watching this content tells me that your Intrigue and your interest in the superhero of Jesus I believe that you are to experience insight into the hidden mysteries of the realm of Heaven's Kingdom going on in verse 16 if you jump even further in the chapter Jesus says but Blissful are your eyes for they see delightful are your ears for they're open to hear all these things many prophets and godly people desired
and yearn to see things like these Miracles that you have been favored to witness they would have given anything to hear the Revelation you have been favored to hear I want you to know that the revelation of Jesus has been desired and craved for for as long as human beings have existed on Earth people have desired to understand what this world is all about and in the person of Jesus so much of life if not the entirety of Life starts to take shape starts to come into frame and make sense he is the superhero We
crave and we desire I had my earpods in this morning in preparation for when these cameras came on and when we would talk and I was listening to some music that speaks of the wonderful ways of Jesus and I was overcome again in fact I was listen listening to some music that I first listened to when I was 13 years old an old singer that is actually now an old friend and I was listening to the lyrics of this singer remembering at 13 remembering in my parents' home in the state of Washington in the suburbs
in this little place called issaqua listening to these lyrics for the first time as a 13 14 and 15y old and I was overcome again with the emotion of what that young middle school boy desired from Jesus and I got to tell you at 45 three kids in nearly 25 years of marriage I find myself in a very similar Place Desiring more of this wonderful savior less religion less pretense less program less pump in circumstance what I crave more than anything honestly in my heart of hearts not always not every day not throughout every day
but honestly when you boil it all down for me if there is a superhero if there is a savior if there is a man named Jesus who walked and lived and died and rose again and levitated into the clouds and has transformed still today billions of people on the planet know his name and yet it has been thousands of years since he appeared in physical physical form on the this planet I am mesmerized by him I want more of him and here his disciples are not only intrigued by him but the masses have gathered so
much so he's pressed out into the water with a little boat to teach the people but notice carefully with me he wants to teach he wants to reveal himself he wants to teach you just as he desired to teach the pressing crowds upon him in Matthew 13 he desires to teach you here's three observations about this patient teacher you want more of Jesus understand this number one he's focused on you he's focused on you he's thinking about you he's got you on his mind that's right you are that important to him now when it comes
to life you ever had somebody text you lately and they text you and they're like I just had you on my mind and there's this heartwarming Sensation that hit your body because you're like wow you had me on your mind thank you for the text that's encouraging didn't know if anybody was thinking about me God you're always on his mind God the person of Jesus clearly he's approachable do you know God is Not A Million Miles Away he's as near as your next breath your next thought your next word he is a approachable you can
approach him and lastly and probably one of my favorite observations about this patient teacher is he is passionate and he is present he is passionate and he is present he says in verses 16 and 17 Blissful are your eyes for they see delightful are your ears for they're open to hear all these things many prophets and godly people yearn to see these things he uses passionate language to describe how excited he is that our eyes could be open to understand who he is and how present is he you ever sat with someone you admire and
they're not present you ever sat with someone you look up to and they're not present maybe they're busy on their phone maybe they're distracted by other people or Worse you're in a conversation with them and they seem to be looking over your shoulder to see if there's a better option in the room of someone to talk to Jesus he's present he's passionate about you he's approachable and he's focused on you the truth is this I have never met a more wonderful person than the person of Jesus church home is hollow and empty this concept that
we are pioneering to bring the message of Jesus and guided prayers and content to you that could serve you on your spiritual journey wherever you are on the spiritual spectrum and whatever you believe about Jesus this platform exists as a safe place to explore what you believe about God and obviously it's pretty clear I am persuaded that God has revealed himself fully in the person of Jesus he's the superhero of the world and all the he and the wrong and the pain that we have caused by our Free Will choices Jesus absorbed in his sinless
body he became sin so that we could cast all of our pain and our shame and our shortcomings and our sins on him so now we can be free actually free fre from things like shame and guilt and condemnation and embarrassment we can actually anticipate that not only will this life find purpose and meaning though there will be pain there will be Beauty and there will be magic and there will be Majesty because of what Jesus has done and he promises that we are Eternal beings and we will live with him forever that's the hope
I have my life like your life can be really painful and discouraging encouraging but this is the hope we have in Jesus I hope already wherever you're sitting and possibly with friends that you feel encouraged I want to lead you in a guided prayer there is so much more to say and we will in the weeks to come but I'm going to ask you to close your eyes speaking of being present let's Ponder for a moment with our eyes closed how near and present Jesus is right now that's right he is here he is close
he is near and he is approachable I want you to allow yourself with your eyes closed to actually Revel bask in the reality that God is not far the most powerful being in the universe is right now available approachable present and passionate with you with you there's no good thing you lack because you have him he's available what do you need to say to him what do you need to say to him with your eyes closed and I know you might have friends in the room watching this weekly service together so maybe you could say
it in your head but is there something you really need to say to him I'm scared I'm angry I'm mad I'm hurt I'm lonely I'm so excited I'm so hopeful what do you need to say to him I mean where are you really at right now say it in the next 20 seconds just say it say it out loud or say it in your head but say it he's approachable he's attentive he's listening and that's extraordinary thank you God you know exactly where we are the outset of the month of October in 2024 on this
planet you know and that thought alone is comforting thank you thank you thank you with your eyes closed I want to make a statement to you I believe there are many of you listening right now and you're overwhelmed at the thought of remembering everything you need to do and all that needs to get done but if he is present and he is available perhaps we could give that to him maybe you're a dad like me maybe you're a parent maybe you're a coach maybe you're a doctor maybe you're a barista maybe you're a school teacher
and you have so much to remember what if you gave that all to him right now and allowed yourself the luxury of being present in this moment here he's enough therefore you're enough and his love is precious and sacred and you can sit in it here and you can experience it here and all that is to come will take care of itself but I pray in this moment you feel loved loved perhaps like you've never felt loved before not because of what you do but because of what he's done and how much he loves you
thank you God lord these moments are only as true as you are here we need more of you I thank you for these minutes and moments I share with my friends from all over the world and I pray that they would more than anything today feel you are that patient teacher and that love wonderful God that kind king and you are here and you are present and we thank you for it in Jesus name amen I know that was an unusual guided prayer but I hope you feel loved if you'd like to follow Jesus join
