all right ladies and gentlemen we are back for yet another round of pvol world record greatness featuring none other than Mondo Duplantis from Sweden did you expect anything less from the man who has broken the world record nine times over the past 4 years honestly we knew that this was coming but it did come in a rather dominant way compared to his previous records where it seemed as though he scraped by by a few centimeters because this Vault on his second attempt at 6 26 M Mondo Duplantis flew over with absolutely Flawless execution this height
which stands at 20t 6 and 1/2 in just look up and imagine how high that actually is this makes Duplantis yet again a new world record breaker in this event but there was actually something rather different about this world record compared to his previous times and it centers around something that happened in yesterday's press conference before today's competition now in yesterday's press conference for the celissia diamond League meeting they announced that they were going to give away this a gold and diamond ring that must be worth at least $50,000 and they were going to give
it to the person who had the highest World Athletic score for their performance and if you'll notice they actually had a screen featuring times and distances that would be required to hit a mark of 1,314 points and I remember looking at this thinking that next to nobody other than Duplantis could reach this espe especially inab brixon who would need to run a time of 7 minutes and 18 seconds over the 3K to actually hit 1314 and well Ina brickson certainly did that in fact he ran faster hitting a time of 717 make sure to go
watch the video I think this actually motivated Duplantis to make sure he got over this Mark not only break the world record but win this very interesting ring I actually really really like this idea and I think that they should bring in brand new prizes not just cash money for the person that hits the highest World Athletic score in every Diamond League competition now there have been a lot of people who have made the comment that Duplantis is so good in his event that it actually benefits him to not perform at 100% And this is
a very interesting take and it's also very true because breaking World Records by 1 cimeter at a time grants him the ability to win more and more cash money and this is basically turning this event on its head we've seen it happen before but Duplantis is that guy right now and I said before that I think he could reach 640 and that might be a little bit of a stretch but I think 630 is most definitely within his reach right now and maybe over the next couple of Seasons he'll make his way up even higher
and who knows how many world records he will break in his career but for now at 6:26 Duplantis is in the driver's seat of Athletics greatness and I think he might be the single most Untouchable athlete in any event right now and speaking of dominance this actually makes Duplantis the owner of of all of the top 10 marks in pole volting history including indoors and Outdoors and this is something that you almost never see it's just so hard to get that high and stay that consistent in your event but when you're Mondo Duplantis you can
pretty much do what you want and make your own rules thanks for watching everyone and as always until next time or until Mondo breaks another world record because you know it's coming I mean come on for
