In today’s video, we’re making a simple and practical bag. A new, stylish, and unique design! I’ll use cotton macramé yarn.
We’ll need 250 grams and a 4 mm hook. Let’s start with a magic ring . and make 8 single crochets into it Pull the yarn to close the ring.
We won’t close the round; e. instead, we’ll turn the workpiece and crochet on the other side We’ll use single crochet in the back loop. Start with 2 single crochets (sc) individually, , and in the third stitch, work 3 single crochets in the same stitch.
Then 2 individual single crochets followed by 3 single crochets in the same stitch. Finally, finish with 2 individual single crochets. This round has increased by 4 stitches so the total is now 12 stitches Chain 1 and turn your work to begin the third round.
Make 3 individual single crochets in the back loop, then 3 single crochets in the same stitch, followed by 4 individual single crochets, Then 3 single crochets in the same stitch, and 3 individual single crochets. Chain 1, turn your work, and repeat the same pattern for the fourth round. This side increases by 1 stitch 4individual single crochets then 3 single crochets in the first corner The other side increases by 2 stitches then 3 single crochets in the second corner The last side increases by 1 stitch.
This pattern is repeated for each round This side increases by 1 stitch The other side increases by 2 stitches The last side increases by 1 stitch. because we make 3 single crochets in the corners Continue until you complete 21 rounds. In the 21st round, you’ll have: 21individual single crochets on one side, 3single crochets in the first corner 40individual single crochets on the second side 3single crochets in the second corner and 21individual single crochets on the last side making a total of 88 stitches At this stage, the piece will measure 25 cm in width and 13 cm in length.
Now we’ll work stability rows with no increases: Each round will have 88 single crochets. When working without increases,. the work will take on a straight shape We’ll complete this stability section in 5 rounds.
This will be the inner side of the bag, and this will be the outer side Now we’ll work single crochets perpendicular to the rounds. Chain 1 and skip the first round; make 1 single crochet in the second round. make 1 single crochet in each round until you reach the center.
You should have 26 stitches at the center. with count the starting chain. then work another 26 stitches on the other half Chain 1 and continue to the second round.
For the second round, work single crochets in the front loop only, as we’ll use the back loop for the inner side of the bag. Don’t forget the chain at the beginning of the first round. The total stitches for the round are 52.
Work a third round of 52 single crochets in both loops. Chain 1, then work the final row with slip stitches in both loops. Cut the yarn after finishing this row.
Now, attach the yarn to these loops, skipping the first 5 stitches and joining at the 6th. Chain 1 and start with single crochets in the first stitch. Continue working single crochets into the loops skipping the last 5 stitches in the row.
This row will have 42 stitches. Chain 1 and repeat for the second row, working single crochets in both loops. On this edge, sew the zipper.
Repeat the same steps to make a second piece. Turn both pieces inside out and join them together . using slip stitches Start by joining these rows then the 88 stitches If the loop closest to you is the front loop, take the front loop from both pieces and make slip stitches.
This will create a neat outer look. To make the handles, work a width of 6 single crochets. While working on the handle remember that the starting chain counts as the first single crochets of the row.
Skip the first stitch and work single crochets in the second. Don’t forget to crochet into the starting chain at the end of the row. I worked 82 rows in total equivalent to 46 cm in length I hope you like the design.
Thank you for watching!
