this is Javier suay he is one of the greatest jumpers to ever live and he is about to do something that nobody else in history has ever [Applause] achieved on this special day Sor achieved a high jump of 2. 44 M which converts to exactly 8 ft this was the first and still only time that anyone has ever broken this barrier and with the hang time of an actual God this Cuban jumping Legend cemented his name as the only athlete to ever reach this jumping Summit after this new world record leap which is the actual height of most indoor ceilings fans stormed the jumping pit and a little trivia for you here if any of these fans had knocked off the bar in the top position this jump actually would have been disqualified from world record consideration as the bar must remain in position after the jump has completed and the athlete officially leaves the jumping area it is not an exaggeration to say that this jump has forever gone down in history is one of the greatest jumping moments to ever go down and the only jump to ever exceed 2. 44 was Javier's still-standing world record from 1993 where he cleared 2.
45 M or 8 ft and 1/4 in some say that that this jump is the single greatest moment in jumping history far exceeding The Bouncing abilities of even Michael Jordan Spud Web or any other NBA player to ever compete and this got me thinking what actually is the highest jump that the world has ever seen and what was the single greatest documented leaping moment to ever occur well recently I went on a deep dive and absolutely scoured the internet looking for this number one jumping moment and honestly I think I found it and it is one of the most incredible things that I've ever seen here's a clip from someone that many of you might not know this is Toby lewall and at his best he is considered to have the highest running vertical leap in NBA history with a jaw-dropping jump of 49. 5 in here's the wall jumping so high that even his shoulders are practically right even with the rim not his head not even his neck but his shoulders Reach This height now in our previous video looking at Super super high jumpers from 2021 we found Michael Jordan to have the highest recorded jumping vertical leap in NBA history with a running vertical of 48 in but according to various articles which I'll make sure to leave down below lall's vertical leap very much does seem to surpass even the great Air Jordan next there is this famous clip that I'm sure many of you have seen at some point on your online digesting time now I couldn't find this man's name for a long time but this man can bounce and in this video it suggests that this athlete stands at 5T and 6 in and it also states that he can apparently touch a 12 foot Bell in the air after some quick research I found that this man's name is actually Anthony height yes Anthony height which is just the greatest name ever for someone that can jump this high and according to this article in many other videos Anthony's vertical leap is almost exactly 50 in but it still does not quite compare to some of the greatest Jumpers in sporting history is there are actually various athletes that have a recorded 50in vertical and these athletes include Christopher spell Riley Smith Isaiah Rivera guy Oliver and also Darius Clark and if you're wondering what a confirmed 50-in vertical actually looks like here it is at this point in my search it seemed as though this was the ultimate conclusion for the highest jumpers ever in side note it was also confirmed that Isaiah Rivera did indeed jump a height of 50. 5 in for his vertical which is just Bonkers when you realize that this is over 4 ft of raw vertical jumping however in thinking a little bit more about this case I realized that jumping does in fact take many shapes and forms and while it helps to have an athlete that has a confirmed vertical leap along with the video what if it didn't what if an athlete jumps so high that even a set height or even a set camera couldn't measure it well that is exactly what happened back in 1996 because at the Atlanta Olympics something so special went down that many many consider this single jump to be the actual highest leap to ever take place oh my goodness that was one of the biggest jumps I've ever seen well that was world record height jumping wasn't it I mean that wasn't just a scrape that was a huge clearance this is arur partika from Poland and in this jump right here he achieves a height of 2.
37 M or 7 ft 9 and 1/4 in this height is actually high enough to win the 2024 Olympic Games it would have tied the gold position in 2021 it would have won the 2012 Olympics by a huge margin and basically it would have won pretty much any championship match in history but something very special happened on this very leap and that's that in an almost Supernatural occurrence bartika sailed over the bar by what seems to be a margin that has never been seen before in jumping history even the announcers were truly taken back by just how huge this jump truly was that was one of the biggest jumps I've ever seen well that was world record height jumping wasn't it I mean that wasn't just a scrape that was a huge clearance huge clearance 2 m 37 Al partia well I've never seen him quite in this sort of form before tremendous Drve of that inside knee it travels so far when watching this jump over and over again it is truly magical to see someone get this high with such ease and upon seeing this jump I had to know how high he actually went here now there's many reports of How High he actually went online but these are more secondhand accounts and what seem to be overall estimates there's some videos that say he achieved a height of 2. 47 some say he even reached a height of 2. 50 which would exceed the current world record by 5 cm it was truly a daunting task to find just how high he jumped on this day and something severely holding me back was this one angle that was shown throughout almost every single coverage provided online but then I found another angle and I think this gives us an even better idea at just how high he actually went the only problem with this extra angle of footage is that it cut in just as partika is reaching his highest level and because of this it's quite difficult to get an idea of what the timing was and where his legs and torso and shoulders truly were in reference to the bar however if you ask any high jumper they will tell you that 2.
37 M literally never looks like this and for a better example of just how ridiculous Vera's jump truly was here is the highest jump in the world this year for 2024 which justo happens to be 2. 37 achieved by John Marco dber and this year's European champion ships and this is how his jump of 2. 37 looks like for this jump tberry from Italy just barely scraped by 2.
37 and the bar even shook a little bit when making this leap but when compared to partika from 1996 there is a drastic discrepancy between the two jumps but the question Still Remains how high did partika actually jump some 28 years ago I searched far and wide to see if any specific study was ever done on this jump and unfortunately I never found anything directly related to the true height that he achieved and the reason I think this is the case is because he actually did not win the 96 Olympics because even though he achieved this historic 237 jump the eventual winner went 2. 39 M taking down partika by 2 cm now the world record height of 2. 45 achieved by none other than S mayor back in 1993 was again a beautiful clearance and was arguably the greatest jump ever however he just barely scraped by even touching the bar on this jump and At His Highest there is just no doubt in my mind that partika was actually well above sodor's jump in 1993 he just went into another dimension of Leaping here and from what I can see I think it makes the most sense to see that he was somewhere around 2.
47 maybe to 2. 49 and maybe up to 2. 50 it really does seem that high and even though he never did officially jump over a bar set to 2.
