[Music] hello everyone this is your host Richard with another marvelous video sh people you better be listening to this on headphones because we're about to venture into alien infested territory and these are murderous aliens that are attracted to sound a quiet place day one just took over the theaters and we're here to answer some burning questions for you this film is the third entry in the quiet place series and serves as a prequel to the first two movies while Act its ending particularly has ties to a quiet place too the film comes with a fresh
cast as Lupa nyongo as Sam and Joseph Quinn as Eric with Frodo the cat as the show stealer the quiet place films are set in a post-apocalyptic World following a terrifying Alien Invasion by the death angels and this latest film shows us how the alien attacks began and what really happened on day one of their arrival on Earth so let's get going before we go into our explanation we have a very small request if you like our content please support us by subscribing to our Channel this is a small click for you but for us
it means a lot thank you let's begin what happens on day one of hostile alien takeover before we break down the film's climactic scenes here's a Roundup of the storyline the sound sensitive aliens aka the death Angels infiltrate Earth by arriving on meteors and these fragments crash into several locations around the world such as Shanghai New York and Mexico the events of day one entirely take place in New York City which makes it a perfect setting really because the film opens with a crucial piece of info that says New York City generates an average of
90 DB of sound which is the volume of a scream Sam is a terminally ill patient who lives in a hospice a little away from the city and counts days to her death encouraged by the male nurse Reuben Sam and her service cat Frodo decide to take a bus ride to the city and watch a marionette show the only flicker of excitement in Sam's life is that she's going to get pizza after the show but something tells the audience early on that pizza is not going to happen the shots of graveyards military vehicles on the
streets and flying jets in the sky set the mood for an impending attack and boom aliens are falling from the skies and taking over NYC streets as the meos crash land in the Big Apple and the death angels with them Sam's bus is blasted away and she's stranded in the middle of the road engulfed in Smoke and darkness one by one she realizes that her bystanders are being dragged Away by unseen Predators before she finally sees a death angel towering over her these are tall lean creatures that crawl on all fours and also can stand
upright these aliens are blind and their sightless heads are concealed within a crusted shell that opens up like a flower they have a creepy mouth with a menacing set of teeth and soft vulnerable tissue behind there Sam goes unconscious and is rescued by jimon hano's character HRI a very prominent figure from a quiet place too as the survivors hold up inside the marionet show theater they realize that the death Angels can't see but are hyp sensitive to noise so the survivors shush their way for a while till the power goes off and the generator motor
kickstarts with a loud noise Reuben volunteers to shut the motor down but the sound of his shirt getting torn off attracts a death angel and Reuben is killed leaving Sam all by herself meanwhile flying choppers announc that the bridge is connecting to Manhattan are being bombed and destroyed prevent the aliens from escaping into the mainland the aliens can't survive in water and hence the decision to bomb up the bridges the government plans to evacuate the survivors through boats and the citizens are asked to make their way to the harbor led by paranoia everyone climbers their
way toward the boats and the resulting noise attracts the death Angels who kill most of the survivors Sam however is determined to relive her childhood memories and makes her way against the crowd toward Harlem on the way she loses her cat Frodo and survives an alien Ambush by hiding underneath the car soon enough Frodo Finds Its way back to her and brings along another Survivor named Eric an English law student Eric's Paralyzed by the sight of the aliens and follow Sam to her apartment later when Sam imbalances a bookstand the duo are chased by death
angels and they manage to escape through a flooded subway track Sam's Health is deteriorating and Eric decides to fetch her medical supplies and Frodo joins him on the out on their way back fro Strays into the basement of an under construction building where Eric encounters a bunch of death Angels feasting on gooey alien life forms Sam's nursed back to health and she and Eric venture out to get some pizza from the pizzeria that Sam used to frequent as a kid they discovered that the Harem Pizzeria has being burnt down and take shelter in a bar
Eric manages Eric manages to get a box of cold pizza from a nearby eery and the two friends have acquired pizza party and a magic show orchestrated by Eric don't worry people fro also gets a slice this part is is cut short where the two make their way back to Sam's apartment and from the fire escape they see a boat sailing away from New York City filled with survivors but there's no way that they can draw the attention of the survivors without making noise and that also means getting killed by the death Angels Sam hatches
a quick plan and decides to get Eric off the island Sam and Eric tap to the streets quietly maneuver their way through the jammed up cars and bid a tear jerking farewell to each other Sam hands over Frodo to Eric and parts ways with him only to pick up a crowbar and smash it into cars so that the car alarms would go off the noise attracts the death angels in her direction making way for Eric to run toward the duck as Sam draws the Predators further and further away from Eric the commotion is noticed by
the people on the boat who suspect there could be more survivors on the island the boat is stopped and Eric emerges on the dock with Frodo however Eric bangs into a side mirror and the noise alerts the death Angels who turn their attention toward Eric and start chasing him across the pier Eric jumps into the water just in time and swims his way to the boat where HRI helps him up later Eric discovers a letter from Sam in his pocket thanking him for being a friend and asking him to take care of Frodo the letter
also reveals why Sam chose to stay on the island Infested by the predatory aliens instead of choosing to escape with Eric Sam appears again in the final scenes of the movie where she walks around the deserted streets of Manhattan listening to her favorite music on her iPod in a shocking moment she decides to unplug the earphones and blast out the music and the screen goes dark just as a death angel arrives behind her ready to kill so that's how the monster Mayhem begins on Earth which Contin continues into the first two quiet place movies why
does Sam decide to stay in the city While others escape when we meet Sam for the first time her health is already in real bad shape she's been living in a hospice undergoing treatment and going to therapy meeting to ease into the last few days of her life Sam's Journal reveals that she's been terminally ill for a while and her health can fail at any second her failing Health was further put under a lot of stress during the alien invasion in the city she was forced to go without proper medicine and food and through strenuous
physical turmoil all the weakened Sam further and she realized that swimming to the boat was not an option for her so she decides to be of help and creates a distraction for the aliens to let her friend Eric and Cat Frodo Escape into safety Sam's letter to Eric reveals her dying wish Sam wanted to relive her childhood memories once again before the illness killed her her dad was a piano player and she used to frequent the Harem Pizzeria with him she wanted to be back in the same neighborhood and have the same pizza before she
breathed her last and now that Eric helped her fulfill her dying wishes Sam was ready to embrace death she realized only one of the two could make it out of the island and it better be Eric that's why Sam chose to stay behind in Manhattan while Eric made it to the boat how does Sam survive while helping Eric get on the boat the death angels are hyp sensitive to noise and operate on echo location instead of sight one scene in the film reveals that inside their hardened shell of head there are spiral mazike hearing devices
that can catch sound at an amplified rate this means in a busy City like Manhattan the death Angels pick up multiple sounds that make them go on a murderous spree this also o means that these noise sensitive aliens get easily distracted by the very many sounds coming from different sources thus when Sam picks up the Crowbar and bangs it on several cars the car Sirens draw the aliens toward a particular direction but they also seem a little confused by the multiple Sirens from multiple cars this distracts them significantly from tracking Sam's exact footsteps they're so
driven to run toward the source of noise that some of the aliens don't even sense a panic Eric passing by them however while running toward the harbor Eric crashes into a car and the singular noise amidst the Ruckus that Sam creates grabs the attention of an alien the death angel redirects itself toward Eric and picks up on the sound of Eric running the sound of desperate footsteps on a wooden Pier draws the swarm of aliens toward Eric which seemingly allows Sam to move back into her Hideout and that's how she probably makes it to the
last scene of the movie what happens to Sam in the end as we told you the final scene shows Sam blasting music on an empty Manhattan Street quite obviously catching the attention of the death Angels one of the creatures appear right behind Sam and in all probability she gets killed by the alien Predator while Sam's decision may seem dramatic to some viewers it's supported by her tragic backstory in the hospice Sam's been living with the fear that she can die any day any moment and hence when she finally got to the city again visited her
neighborhood again made a new friend and relive her childhood memories she felt rather at peace in fact Sam's choice of song Nina Simone's feeling good clearly conveys how she feels the moment she decides to Die the fear of death has controlled Sam's life for way too long and with her final move she seems to take back control of her life and her death with no fear why can't the death angel step into water the death angels have a terrifying physiology something that makes them almost impossible to kill they have hardened impenetrable shell-like skin which is
immune to Conventional Weaponry only their inner mouth is made up of soft vulnerable tissue and that's their weak spot owing to their extraterrestrial Anatomy their bodies are so dense that they can't float or swim in deep water in the scene where Sam and Derk escape a hood of death Angels through an underground tunnel filled with water a creature picks up on their sound and chases them into the water while Eric and Sam swim through and manage to escape the alien fails to sustain itself and dies in less than a minute the creature struggles to stay
afloat and its wriggling movements suggest that it dies by choking even in the pier scene when Sam helps Eric escape the swarm of death Angels is alerted by the honking of the boat but they dare not step into the water they line up around the harbor and even run along the muddy Shores but refrain from venturing into the water in fear of drowning and dying what are the death Angels eating these predatory aliens belong from a lightless planet deep into the Galaxy one that has a much Amplified gravity than earth and harsh environmental condition in
order to survive on a hellish Planet the death Angels learned to gauge the surroundings through echolocation and also developed a hardened skin when their Planet got destroyed they survived on the fragments and landed on Earth in a meteor show given that they retain their strength and durability on Earth we can't help but wonder what is the food source of the these alien creatures on our planet we ask this because in the previous films it's been confirmed that the death angels Slaughter sentient forms but don't eat them corpses of mummified humans can be seen all around
but the aliens are never tempted to Feast on the remains why don't they eat their prey is a question that the Abbott family's been asking in the past films and day one seems to solve that mystery in the scene where Frodo runs away from Eric and Eric Ventures into a construction site looking for Frodo he discovers a fiery crevice with a secret alien Lair inside the floor of the lir is filled with some sort of throbbing alien life form or plant form that serves as the food source for the death Angels a gigantic alien probably
the leader of the clan summons others to Feast on the throbbing spherical egg-like things but before gorging the senior alien tears the spherical life form open to reveal a gooey interior it's possible that the aliens can't eat their human prey because their biology might not be suitable for such ingestion and hence they brought their own food sources with them and in time they plant a Walter Earth's environment with alien platforms how is the ending connected to a quiet place too in the 2021 movie most of the action takes place in the small town of milbrook
in New York and the storyline centers around the Abbott family Midway through the movie The Abbott family hears a radio transmission and figures out that there's an Island full of survivors nearby as the characters Regan and EMT roll their way to the island they meet a community of survivors who reveal they've been living on the island ever since the invasion began because the creatures can't swim the island and its survivors remain safe from them the colony leader recounts that as soon as the government realized that the death angel stay away from Deep Water the national
guard was instructed to relocate people from the infected locations to Islands but the colony leader also reveals a harrowing story when people attempted to board the evacuation boats it led to a massive chaos and confusion and the noise attracted the predatory death angels to the Harvest of the many evacuation boats that were deployed only two made it to the island this brings us to the prequel movie the boat that Eric Escapes in is one of these two boats that make it to the island near New York and the colony leader that we've been mentioning is
actually HRI from this recent movie thus the ending of this film makes it clear that the boat is headed for the island that the Abbott family later discover in a quiet place too and the survivors on the boat Eric included go on to form the community of survivors on the island so does this mean Eric was present on the island during the events of a quiet place too even though Joseph Quinn's character never appears on screen the answer is most likely yes however after watching a quiet place day one one may wonder why we never
get to see the second boat leaving Manhattan future of the franchise is there going to be another film in the series the first two quiet place films were directed by John krinski who also starred in them along with his wife Emily Blunt the latest entry is a spin-off that's been held by Michael soski based on a story co-created by John krinski this brings us to the fact that yes the franchise is going to expand with a quiet place 3 which was announced soon after the success of the second movie but it's going to be a
direct sequel of the 2021 film it isn't going to be another spin-off movie like day one and neither is it expected to continue the story of day one it may of course have ties to the latest film but a quiet place three will most likely expand on the storyline of the Abbott family John kosinski's character dies in the second film leaving Emily Blunt as the sole protagonist of the storyline this also leaves room for Joseph Quinn's character Eric to emerge as a secondary protagonist in the film another development orbe it terrifying that may happen in
the next film is that the death angels will find a way around their fear of water in the second movie it's shown that one of the alien creatures drifts onto the survivor's Island and starts killing everyone until a high pitched frequency incapacitates it what if by the time part three releases the death Angels evolve and learn to sustain themselves in deep water then no island in the world will be safe from them and Humanity will be headed for an impending doom Eric and Sam be there in the next film at the end of a quiet
place day one Sam chooses death and specifically summons the death angels to her thus it's highly unlikely that she survives the predatory death angels all by herself but her death is never really shown in the movie which leaves just a tiny bit of room for Sam's survival after all Sam was able to remain unusually quiet throughout the events of the movie and was able to travel to Harlem on foot while the Prowlers were on the hunt so one might say that she has experience in how to deal with the noise sensitive aliens plus with NYC
being deserted there's plenty of room for Sam to hide out from the aliens if somehow Sam survives the initial attack she can perhaps even keep her illness related pain in check by procuring meds from the stores just like Eric did for her having said all that Sam appearing in the next movie does seem a bit farfetched indeed but we aren't ruling out the possibility as for Eric he survived the alien attack in New York and made it to the boat that was also carrying onri considering hre's character was already been explored in a quiet place
too there is I might very well take the spotlight in the next film also because HRI was killed by a death angel leaving the survivor's Colony without her leader in the film Eric comes face to face with the death angel several times and manages to make it out alive every single time he's dodged them underwater inside a subway station and even out open in the streets thus Eric can bring his experience of having encountered the death Angels up close into the next film story line thus guiding the rest of the colony members with a survival
plan marvelous verdicts a quiet place day one ends with the looming fear that Earth is headed an apocalypse and Humanity for extinction and there's very little that we can do about it other than hiding in Silence the world is ending and Sam's obsession with having one last bite of pizza reasserts that maybe the aliens will learn to swim or maybe the humans will develop a new weapon to kill the death Angels but either way the war is far from over and we can't wait to see what's next in store for us from the franchise have
