you know jemele hill i interviewed her recently and uh we talked about how so many athletes that come from poor neighborhoods they end up making so much but then they end up losing a lot and she feels this because of survivor's remorse because they absolutely some people feel that way i feel that way nasa how this guy died and i'm still alive and this is the smartest guy this guy worked this way everybody respect this guy he was dangerous and this and he's not here no more yeah and you know they feel like they won
the genetic you know lottery in a way because they were just born you know because you can't train to be a mike tyson you have to be born genetically a certain type of way and then train on top of it right like everyone can't be a mike tyson no everybody can no one could be mike tight everybody's gonna be who they're gonna be right whatever they're gonna do but i mean a certain level of athleticism is genetic you have to be born strong why you know you could train but you also have to have that
so a lot of them feel guilty because they were just born that way and a lot of times with these great athletes people know they're great in elementary school you know it doesn't come later so everyone treats them a certain type of way everybody's different you look at this rocky mountaino and larry home they're probably the only two heavyweights that probably started in their 20s or late like 19-20 and then two of the greatest heavyweights all lived ever lived it started late yeah larry hold a great yeah no i'm talking about what when he started

moving your ass well the way he described that fight was that he was completely retired and then don king showed up at his house one day with half a million in cash i say take this money larry it's yours he's like what the hell i'm not gonna fight mike tyson are you crazy like he didn't want to take the fight you ended up retiring uh you were 37 years old and you stayed retired until don king shows up at your house one day about to hear that money come that money comes back don't you know
money make you talk money makes you do crazy things i didn't you know i had to quit retired living living in my nice house with my wife and with my kids and don can't come with a big bucket of money and then what you're going to do it's yours liar is yours all is mine yes that's yours all you got to do is sign here sign word down right there okay that's fine money is the root of all evil man okay so don king shows up your house and he says i want you to fight
mike tyson i but my first impression was [ __ ] you got to be crazy me fighting mike jason he said yeah you fight mike tyson you can beat mike tyson i said i know i can get around all this stuff that you don't but i can't beat mike tyson because there's a lot of things he don't do he said you can beat him like i know you're gonna beat him he's gonna give you this many weeks to get ready we're gonna be like nine weeks i had to train and i said damn don i
don't know about that he says here you go slapping on the hair hits 500 000 on my hand right in the living room there five thousand dollars how many five hundred thousand what am i supposed to do tom what are you doing with all that money somebody's gonna rob you man around here uh uh probably not like a robbie champ uh uh but you better get this money larry said that once he finally accepted the the fight with you he didn't have much time to train and then don kept pushing it up also i believe
i believe i'm a hundred percent yeah that's what people should do but look you saw how he got in shape himself he fought holyfield close fight um um atomic bull oliver mccall yeah nice got him at the right time he's a special fight he's a guy that can fight for a long time he has probably got mad and bitter about that imagine if he never stopped fighting yeah probably with one he would win the title back oh yeah one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and estimated absolutely 48-0 on the [ __ ] estimated
he said that uh rocky marciano can hold his jock strike said that but he's just amazing well he said in the fight with you uh he said his arm got caught in the ropes and he said that had it not got caught he might have been able to hit you with that but wasn't meant for that to happen remember that we catch that punch the fight happened and you know he ended up hitting you with some some tough shots and man he knocked the hell out of me when you talk about some tough shot don't
shot so hard he hit me man bang bang bang you know and the reason why he did that and i'm going to show you something because i set him up i set him up before reading my trap with a right uppercut i went back running around the ring a little bit he was pushing him and i went back on the ropes i said i got him now come on in there and when he come up was ready to come in and i threw shot wow and that didn't hit him good that didn't hit him good
so he backed off and came in again i did it again wow i still didn't hit him right they needed it right and he come again i set him up because he's he's dumb he keeps coming with the same stuff you know he didn't know they leave it alone go another way but i was dumb too for falling in the corner and letting him get the shots at me but and i went to throw a punch and my arm got caught and with the rope i thought i don't go i'm getting i'm determined to get
him with this uppercut so he here he comes i got him i got him i went like this and then my the ropes caught my damn arm and i was like this and he hit me two three more times that was it um i'm not sure if it was after the fight or before the fight he had some words about you he spoke he spoke badly about you no he said that he's gonna go to prison after this yeah yeah my wife listen my wife want to see him and talk to him about him laugh
yeah you told me he was gonna go because my wife is gonna know why that if you got a big ego she can't wait to do something to crush your ego oh she you know what i mean one of those wives yeah you look like yeah sure what else do you want to look at besides yourself on television it's one of those wives yeah and uh and she's just always waiting for me to get the ego crushed
