of the great commission you are our savior our lord and we love you maybe it's a declaration of his name just take a moment to minister to him we love you jesus you are worthy those who believe in you will never die we're grateful that we have the righteousness of christ through faith by your blood you purchased us for yourself be exalted tonight be exalted tonight god in our worship but even more so in our obedient lives we love you lord we love you we love you it is so wonderful to be here with you tonight you know as tayo and i as our friendship began to grow the bible tells us in romans to rejoice with those who rejoice and as i heard all the things that was happening through zion and dunamis in brazil i was gripped with a spirit of prayer and really since the last year i found myself different times and weeks and months praying for zionism well it's such an honor to be here with you tonight there's a number of words that the lord's placed on my heart and i want to share it with you this evening [Music] and if he couldn't get any closer christ in us the hope of glory so uh as i shared with you i just got to brazil eight days ago i leave tomorrow gotta get back to my wife this is we have four children you don't know my kids names man oh man not all of them sorry and one of the greatest joys of having the hayashi family with us watching all of our children become friends especially they both have the missing tooth because they've been injured so many times they're going to be yes and so uh eight days ago as i was flying into sao paulo uh you know i could see the city about to land and i heard the holy spirit speak to me two things so i come here just to submit that to you tonight so the first one uh was from ephesians chapter 4 verses 1. you can open it up ephesians chapter 4 verse 1 and it it says paul says hey i'm a prisoner in chains jesus and i encourage you to live a life worthy of the call of christ see there is great dignity in following jesus [Music] joyful obedience to his commandments the one who created all things who holds life in his hands and he was giving us the secret to hold life and in ephesians 4 1 it says what does it live what does it mean to live a life worthy of the call of christ yes i was supposed what does it mean to live a life worthy of the call of christ and i don't want you to answer this question immediately it's a deep question but i want you to meditate on it i'm an asian american american so i like to give homework and you know it says to meditate on god's word in psalm 1. meditate on it day and night it says that person is like a tree planted by streams of water they bear lots of fruit in different seasons but their leaf it actually never withers because they are a tree planted by the stream of the holy spirit they're a tree rooted in the word of god filled with the holy spirit and they don't wither in a good season or a bad season because they have the life of christ in them we're going to establish and they bear all kinds of different fruits and that word meditate yes the picture that describes this word a figura could describe the original language original is actually a cow that will eat i was telling the first service you guys got lots of cows in brazil yeah it was cute huh cute they're like wow you sound like my two-year-old so i know one word and then the second word is picanha that's pretty good huh and then i'm hoping one day to connect it into a sentence [Applause] [Laughter] [Applause] and so you have lots of cows in this nation pulling out the nutrients that's in the land bush nutrients and then it eventually swallows that grass into its first stomach starts to digest it pull even more of the nutrients and then and then they swallow it in their first stomach and then their second stomach pull out all the living understanding by the living holy spirit giving us revelation from the living word of god so i ask you this question what does it mean to live a life worthy of the call of duty i want to start with the story i've been to many nations and by the grace of god i've gotten lots of invitations but in 2015 i got a unique invitation an invitation like i never received before and it was from president barack obama president barack obama to come to the white house to discuss with 50 others uh asian american leaders about faith-based issues i was addicted to pornography just uh um selling drugs making tons of money really living a life just to serve myself i will not call myself god but of course every decision i made was about me so of course i was my own god so when this invitation came my first thought was i hope they don't run a background check because i won't be able to go premier pennsylvania but then i started to have this wild imagination what would it look like to say yes to this invitation so i didn't own a suit at the time and i'm going to get a nice bright red necktie power tie here you know what i'm saying and then imagine looking pretty you know swaggerific i don't know how you translate that but walking across the white house lawn and then opening the door to the white house [Music] and then i imagine taking it to the next level you know joshua 1 3 says wherever the soul of your foot treads walking around barefoot in the white house and then my imagination went even further and i thought there's real power in god's word that's what i'm gonna do i'm gonna cut out a bunch of little pieces of paper i'm gonna write all my favorite bible verses look over there and then into i imagine walking up to president obama giving him a nice handshake fear me say so nice to meet you today is the day of your salvation be filled with the holy spirit and then push them over i'm just kidding and then i thought man this is gonna make my korean mama proud i got a twin sister she graduated yale on a full scholarship it took me maybe 25 years just to get a bachelor's degree if you just think juan is i just put it there so when she brings all her older korean mama friends over there oh that little old picture i said i rebuke you devil in the name of jesus jesus but then i heard that same strong convicting gentle loving voice there's no way i could have opened the store no think cool meltdown this is obviously you so could thank civil servant why would you not want me to go do you know how i can bring your kingdom in [Laughter] and then i heard the holy spirit speak to me he says why are you so fascinated by this invitation and i said god he's the most powerful man in the world he commands the largest army and then i heard the holy spirit ask me another question he says who do you think you're meeting with right now and there in that moment my heart was cut and honestly i got on my knees and i started to cry and i said lord i need a clearer vision of who you are are you not the resurrected king are you not the lord of all the nations and i saw a picture of revelation 7 9.
it says a multitude as far as the eye could see every nation every generation all probably in their different cultural clothings and together they sang in a diverse but unified chorus is he not the resurrection in the life is he not the alpha in the omega you want from the beginning is he not the one with eyes of fire is he not the one who conquered sin and death loaded out of the tomb of the plain ascendants into the heavenly places walks into the throne room as a man the [Music] imagine if the president got your personal cell phone number and he called you guys he says man they're all these youth and they need to be restored and revived he said man we need a fourth grade curriculum for teachers to be trained in the favelas which says there's so much corruption in the brazilian government can you go as an administrator and bring justice and righteousness or he called your personal cell phone number and there's this nation and we need brazilians to represent and to be ambassadors how dignified would we feel if the president called our personal cell phone number how much more the king of kings how much more the king of the nations [Music] i knew clearly in my spirit i was not supposed to go to the white house [Music] the holy spirit told me you need to go encourage your friends so i wrote president obama's back in his administration i'm so busy right now i don't think i can make it and the holy spirit said thank you so much for obeying me because i can trust you i'm going to open up the door of government to you see we all are growing in a relationship to trust god what a privilege if god says i trust you what can be unlocked on the earth just a thought to think about it and since then i've been able to meet the prime minister of norway i was working with the vice president of a nation in south asia presidency we brought christian lawyers to help start rewriting their parts of their constitution even during covet i spoke to their parliament once a month there's a verse in matthew 22 14. and it's a verse that i used to always read and didn't quite understand it says many are called but few are chosen but if you were chosen i spoke so so you used to always read that and be like oh am i cold or [Music] or most of the time i felt like oh maybe i'm just cold and i'm just another average believer the chosen ones are like the chosen one before the foundations of the earth i really like you guys it's but i remember the holy spirit gave me revelation about this verse imagine remember jesus said in john 15 jesus no longer do i call you servants no i call you friends so you would call your friends because you know that they care about you they care about your will they care about your family they care about your purpose so i would call my friends maybe i call 20 of them that was and let's just say seven of them say yes i can be there on saturday choosing twenty were called finches seven said yes said to settle they were chosen there's a great evangelist named reinhard bonkey and you know when he was thanking the lord for his calling god told him reinhardt this fellow queen reinhardt thank you for doing what i've asked you to do you said yes to this call it is no just settle down they didn't want to counter costs they definitely didn't want to pay a price and they didn't want to help me move no because across africa africa see the thing is this aqueous all of us have the same bible all of us have the same holy spirit you know what we are as believers yeah we're like airbnb not so much airbnb before there was all these big hilton hotels i was like man only people like teo hayashi could build a hilton yo it was the great deregulator of missions he said everyone can be a hotel everyone can build a place where people could stay the secret of the kingdom has always been found in the empowerment of the everyday believers secret of the kingdom of god in the empowerment of everything it tells us god will not be mocked there's no such man will reap what he says those who stone righteousness that means the more you sow in obedience the depths the christian life is how abandoned can we be to the commandments of christ joyfully obedient so that we know that we will receive the fullness of joy completely the second thing the holy spirit spoke to me when i was flying over brazil was this ah remember the first was asking you the question what does it mean to live a life worthy of the call of christ okay significant second thing that i heard the holy spirit speak to me was this a second question tell brazil that she is an apostolic nation that she is a place of global leadership so as a brazilians you know your nation more than i do of course you know all the nuances what's happening politically but often at times outsiders is you nation you're in the time of the outpouring of the holy spirit there is a real revival and reformation happening you're called to see it in your nations [Applause] and i want to look at all of you in the eyes like tayo said until it feels awkward and as a korean american american i want to tell you as brazilians i see what the spirit of god is speaking about brazil it would be my joy to follow you up i'm inspired in the midst of great division across the earth the anointing of the melting pot of great diversity and unity in brazil i hear the across south america america will you believe god's report or will you believe a news headline will you believe what the holy spirit says or will you believe your own circumstances and will you respond in faith to what god no one had ever heard of korea i was born in the early 80s in america are you from china are you from japan i'm like and as the people of korea start to align themselves with word and prayer a global prayer movement that everyone was talking revival and reformation experiment god took a nation as poor as ethiopia where my dad just one generation before you milk ate his first piece of chocolate when he was 10 years old he took a bite of a hershey bar he was like what is this and god took a nation as poor as ethiopia and as the life and truth and ways of scripture was mixed into society god brought great transformation it was a cairo's time for korea to arise and there's a couple of principles that made that happen the first one that really brought transformation long-term multi-generationally to korea was this transformation it was engagement [Music] and i was telling the first service proverbs 2 tells us to search for truth bro search for the knowledge of god or a hidden tragedy grab something to try and dig and find that treasure how much more the word of god is how much more the eternal scripture is how much more will we value the bible i used to do so much with the early uh with the um underground church in china underground i remember when we snuck in a suitcase full of bibles he was the most wanted man in china because of the gospel he told me as a child he would walk two days with his family just so they could go into the woods and read the bible together then they would dig a hole and bury the bible a few days back to their villages and anticipate for days the next time they can go find themselves but the second thing was this is and it's equally important and if everything that i'm sharing for uh right now is to land on this point the transformation that korea saw a transformer all undergirded by this wholehearted yes but the first is identity second is original design the third is our assignment i could talk to you quite a lot about this but um i'm just going to share a little bit but the first is your identity the moment you said yes to jesus savior and lord salvatore you were born you there is a lot of promises of what belongs to you so much of the christian faith is grabbing a hold of what already belongs to us taking possession with what actually already belongs for example one of those would be first peter chapter two verse four for example you are now royalty in your priesthood or maybe another one would be galatians chapter three you're a child of god in a cohere with christ or maybe it's matthew chapter 5 verse 13 and 14.
